#Corsair- Platform:6 USB Mount
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Does the USB-C port on the side of the controller work for you?
I didn't even know that existed xD But it doesn't seem to for me
How the heck did you even find that? xD I legit have taken my controller off the desk multiple times and never seen it
I wonder if that's meant for something, since it doesn't seem to charge like I said
I am guessing it was used to program the controller and is supposed to be disabled afterwards?
Maybe? That'd make sense, or it could just be OEM and that feature is for another desk
I'm considering posting my STL for the mount I made so others can make it. Though I am modifying it some so I can have a little hanger for the USB cable
Thank you for checking!
You're welcome
I've been wanting to try out the files provided by CORSAIR, as well as try to make some 3D printed accessories of my own but I don't have a printer nor the skills yet. I also haven't had time to learn. ๐
I made that model in like an hour with no real prior knowledge of CAD. So it isn't too bad
That's awesome!
I keep changing my setup constantly. Moving things around. Coming up with ideas for the desk that probably weren't intended. ๐คฃ
Do you also have a Platform:6?
Yes I do! 2 actually. First one arrived damaged, so they sent me another one.
If you can't afford a printer of your own, check out PCBWay, and look up Underware, and Multiboard.io
What software did you use? Was it easy to use?
Fusion360
A friend of mine has a few printers and apparently there's one that is free to use at the local library too. Been a bit too stressed with work to settle down and figure out new software.
The spacing on the multiboard is the exact same spacing as the holes on the metal desk cable management https://www.multiboard.io/
So I made an entire pegboard system with mounts on mine using those holes
Well, still making rather
I don't have a very large printer so I'm trying to get my brother to make the larger pieces I need
That cable channel is fully printed
And was done with this project
Very cool!
I'm also using 3D printed screws and nuts to secure them to the desk
I was hoping to mount the Elgato pedal to that bottom support rail, but I never did. Maybe it would be better for a storage idea than being able to use while it's attached to the rail. ๐
I had the same idea to mount to the rail actually, but I'm probably just going to make a riser for the pedal and have that riser have a brace that brackets to the desk
Underware also has power strip bracket mounts so you can mount it directly to the desk
Side view: slides on top of rail. Do you think that could work?
Most likely could work, but would need to be made in a durable material
True. Press too hard on the pedal, and it'd probably snap. ๐
Since you'd be pressing downward on it, and sometimes harder than the same pressure every time
That's why I considered doing a riser and then just having a bracket that keeps it in place so it presses on the floor
Also, if you do any type of models, get a pair of calipers. That is the only way I've done what I've done
I'm even using 3D printed screws for my controller since the metal ones that you use for install are too big
I've been able to use the bolts to fit into the pegboard holes.
Secured them on the backside with nuts.
That's how I was able to do this: https://discord.com/channels/581549424518365226/1348133483025006732
Wait, I just realized you're the guy that did the double pegboards. That is a cool setup dude
Thanks! ๐
I'm trying to make my cable management on this desk completely 3D printed and not having to actually screw into the desk
You don't want to use these? TBH, I don't do much cable management because I keep changing my setup every few months ๐ซฃ
Honestly, didnโt like the stock ones. Too narrow and kind of limiting
Plus my power strip won't work with that. My power strip is a 16 outlet power strip xD
And is like 40 inches or so
Yeah, you definitely have a lot more freedom with 3D printed, and your setup is looking great!
I love seeing other people's Platform:6 setup. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that talks about it. ๐
Thanks, it's an off and on project. My brother works a lot so he hasn't really put the time in to do the prints I asked for
Probably just going to get my filament back from him and just buy the prints online from a print farm like PCBWay
And the nice thing about the pegboard system I'm using, they have snap connectors. So if you add or remove something you literally just give it a tug and can relocate it or remove it completely from the setup
Snap connectors is very cool! I wish there were some shorter pegs included in the kit.
Yeah, and all of those projects are open source
Also this, 4040 and 8080 compatible
And for chunky power supplies
So many things, honestly wouldn't be able to do this stuff without printing
This is my next upgrade,
Mounting it directly next to the controller
And getting the USB hub for the SD+ to connect the USB cables from the hub I made
Oh, I've got a SD+ also. ๐
Iโm trying to make my desk as comfortable and ease of use as possible
Even have my Wave XLR and Stream Deck mounted to the rail
I plan on having some Stream Deck XLโs mounted beside the XLR
