I have a Samsung Galaxy Note8 and a new HD60 S+. When connecting these two, my Note8 performance suffers. Lag and stuttering. The picture from the Elgato is perfect, but it's very difficult to play and stream games with the performance affected so much.
Any ideas?

You need to put the digital vibrance aspect to occur after it goes past the capture card.
So it'd go for the stream: Gaming PC -> Capture Card -> Stream PC and for you it would go: Gaming PC -> Capture Card -> digital vibrance -> monitor.
Because your graphics card on your gaming PC is sending out a signal with the digital vibrance picked up, the capture card picks up the digital vibrance, and thus it sends that to the stream PC.

There we go, @lofty spoke you'll want to grab BarRaider's Stream Counter action from the Elgato Store. You can see there it has the option to do different things on short or long press, and it can also be set to output to a text file.
Oh it gets better, a file name is actually required for it to work.

@south bronze try plugging it in and grabbing the 4K Capture Utility first of all, and see if that picks up the PS4. The USB plugs into the laptop (must be USB3), the PS4 connects to the HDMI in of the capture card, and the HDMI out is used to connect a monitor for realtime passthrough

Hello, everyone. I bought an Elgato HD60 Pro yesterday and installed it. At "IN" is the plug of my PS4 and at "OUT" the plug that goes into my TV.
Several topics I would like to know more about. My main goal is to use my headset from my PC to hear sound from my PC and console at the same time.
- Can I use Elgato Sound Capture to hear PS4 sound directly from my PC? Or do I need to turn on Elgato Game Capture or OBS to do so?
- In OBS. How can I change the PS4 sound not to run under "Desktop Audio"? Otherwise, I can either mute everything or nothing.
- When I open OBS, the sound of my PS4 starts immediately. Even if I have not selected a scene. Can I mute the PS4 sound anywhere?

Background: 2 pc setup, displayport capture on main monitor with the cloning method from Nvidia control panel.
@burnt dawn happens to me alot with the Google Play plugin. Fully exit out of spotify and stream deck software and open back up. It might ask you to relink again OR it fixes itself

Hey, I'm watching back some of my videos and i'm noticing some audio issues where the sound glitches a bit. I also noticed while i record that sometimes the sound cuts out for a moment or two then kicks back in. any idea how to fix that?

i recently purchased a cam link 4k and connected everything to my PC and DSLR canon t6i camera. The issue that i am having is that i cannot remove the overlays when i boot up on OBS. does anyone know how to reselve this issue?

@tawny badge I had a quick google on "canon t6i clean hdmi out". It seems this camera doesnt send out a clean picture through HDMI. As a result, you will see white overlays. perhaps you can turn off the settings in the camera. Dont think this model is supported by magic lantern (firmware to turn it off)

I7-5960x is an 8 core 16 thread 3.5ghz turbo cpu with an asus rampage v extreme mobo. Probably gonna overclock it back up to 4ghz but it stock 3ghz and turbos 3.5ghz easily. Easy 4.4ghz oc too.
Just concerned since it's 5th gen but min req states 6th. Is this just a broad thing for general idea of performance or is there an actual technical limitation?
Really hope I'm not screwed here. Have all other reqs. One x4 two x8 even a spare x16 pcie

The i7-5960x can be easily oc'd to 4.2ghz stable.
I'd rather leave it at 3.5ghz turbo

I think the i7-5960x destroys most 6th gen cpus except for the top line equivalent
The only problem is: is the min requirement due to performance or due to a feature 5th gen lacks that the 4k60mk2 needs?

I'm looking for some help with the 4K60 S+ I got a few days ago.
When I'm recording, either at 1080p with my switch or 4k with my PS4 Pro, the recording keeps freezing or stuttering and I have no idea how to fix it.
I have the 4K60 S+ connected to a USB 3.1 slot (and also tried USB 3.0) and power is supplied from a wall socket.
CPU is i7-9700
GPU is RTX 2060
16Gb RAM
So I shouldn't be having any trouble at all.
I'm thinking it's more the 4K Capture Utility, as when I connect my HD60 S it sometimes stutters too but I have no problem when using Game Capture HD.
Any help is appreciated.

I'll do a quick test.
@worldly sigil 79 Frames skipped due to encoding lag, right as I pressed Record in OBS, but that has always happened and no other issues for 5 minutes worth of recording. If this was in 4KCU it would have frozen and skipped a lot during the entire recording
Also, don't know if this is standard, but when I have 4kCU open with the 4k60 S+ connected to PC, there's a high pitched buzzing coming from it.

Hi all. I am curious about the HD60 S+, I use it for console streaming. But have hooked it up to my gaming PC and am confused about if it actually supports higher then 60 Hz on a pass through monitor. any ideas?

Yeah thats what I thought, But when I went into the NVIDIA control panel and made a custom resolution that had 120Hz, I was able to have my monitor at 120hz and the game capture going to OBS with no problem. I tried a custom resolution of 144hz first but that had some strange colours in OBS

that's because it's only doing 60hz from the capture card
120 divides neatly by 60 (2), every frame from the 60hz capture card just lasts for 2 frames at 120hz. 144 however does not divide neatly, hence tearing.
and tearing can manifest itself as weird colours in parts, etc.

Yeah so the colour profile is passed along, not necessarily the frame rate.
Since the frame rate very likely is being scaled back at the capture card but it doesn't change the colours

Not necessarily, since you say the colour profiles differ between 120 and 60hz
Because as I said, it's entirely possible the colours are being passed through just fine, only not the framerate. Which if the colours look different between 120hz and 60hz, is likely the case that the PC is changing the colours.
Anyways, I cannot help any further now I'm afraid. I've had an Android security update go wrong and now everything is broken and I'm likely losing all my phone data

Oh wait @worldly sigil you only need 6th gen for using x264 but if you have an RTX2060 you just use new NVENC turing chip so cpu requirement becomes irrelevant.

You can use your headset from your PC to hear your PC and PS4. You should be able to hear it using the capture software, though you may have to play with the commentary and game volume settings.
Not sure about OBS though as I don't use it, but there should be a setting to mute the PS4 audio, maybe under scenes? Again, I don't use OBS so I'm not the best to help you there.

Ok I know it says you can run the cabin m50 as a stream can but it shuts off after 30 minutes. Anyone know what I missed. And canon dslr work great with the cam link. I currently use a t6i and a rebel sl2 and both run clean out without timing out and nothing on the screen. I just want to upgrade to the m50.

Any help with this? I have a GoXLR with a Shure SM7B for mic input and I also use an Elgato 4K60 Pro mk2 PCIe capture card with a Sony a6000 for camera functionality in Skype. For several minutes, I see this (https://i.imgur.com/z0Nw2cZ.png) and then suddenly everything works again. There also seems to be a delay in Skype starting to send the mic data to the person receiving a call because as soon as they answer the phone, it takes about 5 seconds or so before they can hear me. I have checked my camera and microphone settings in Windows 10 and Skype is allowed to use them under the "Allow desktop apps to access your camera" section.
I tested to see if the capture card was in fact the issue. I quit Skype, disabled the card in Device Manager and relaunched Skype... And no longer freezes and has my other camera and audio devices listed immediately and functioning properly. So this is definitely an issue with the capture card. It only happens with Skype, I have no issues with OBS.

@misty sonnet no. I have no issues with delay or anything once any apps load the card. Skype displays no devices (no webcams, no video capture devices, no microphone devices, no speaker devices) and freezes for several minutes when launching Skype. Then, it will load all the devices and function fine after. Disabling the capture card via Device Manager and launching Skype makes this problem go away (but defeats the point of using my a6000 as a Skype camera), mic and speaker devices and other cameras load instantly then.

Did you try updating or reinstalling skype? You may also need to run a windows update since skype is built in. That's super strange that it only happens with skype, which should be seamless

Anyone else have the issue of toggle switches replacing other toggle switches on occasions? Usally when creating a new 1.. say inside a folder, if on that same page as the folder you have another toggle switch. It gets replaced with the 1 you've just created.... leaving you with 2 of the same toggle. 1 in the folder and 1 outside
Edit" seem to overwrite whatever button you have created in the same locations on screen outside that folder

Hi I sent an email but i had no reply so I try to ask here. Before Streamlabs OBS went out for Mac some days ago, I used to stream with Parallel Desktop for Mac, using a virtual machine for running Windows and i connected my elgato to that, all worked perfectly.
When i knew that Streamlabs OBS got his version for Mac, to light my memory I decided to start using Mac version and I unpluged my elgato from all programs in windows setting it to my mac.
The problem is that S.OBS and also the Elgato Application doesn't recognize the capture card even if it's connected all alright and in my TV i see the game running on.

People can you please take a look at the diagram I made of my stream setup (particularly the audio path) and let me know if there's a better way? I have it setup this way so i can listen to the audio in real time and not the delayed audio from the capture device. I have put this together as anytime I try to ask for help with this I find people don't quite understand my setup when I describe it. Please take a look, took me a while to make this 🙂

So the way I do it (albeit I have a HD60S so much lower delay) is Console -> HDMI Splitter/Extractor -> GoXLR -> PC + Headphones (for audio) and Console -> HDMI Splitter/Extractor -> Capture card -> PC for video.

I noticed some audio stuttering in my videos, but it only affects my mic. Durring recording i also notice that my game audio will cut out suddenly then back in -it doesn't seem to show up in the recorded videos. I am using the elgato sound capture and I've tried changing the HDMI cables to see if it's a bad cable.
I haven't played the sound through my TV as I usually play durring the evenings/nights, thus i use the game capture software to play the console (nintendo switch) sound to my Pc headphones. I asked about this on reddit but never got a reply and nothing seems to have applied or worked yet. It's a HD 60 Pro

@misty sonnet I’ve tried both version of skype (Windows Store and the download website installer). WinStore ver doesn’t even detect the PCIe card, so that’s out. The installed version is the latest version of Skype and my Win10 is 100% up to date.

@gritty walrus Definitely not a silly question, but the i3 CPUs are not officially supported so don't be surprised if you run into issues using the HD60 S. If you had a friend with the HD60 S, you could try borrowing it to test on your setup.

Anyone with a 4k60 S+ is it normal that my Max Bitrate at 2160p59 is 196Mbps, even though the documentation for the card says it maxes out at 140Mbps?
I'm also unable to change the encoder (which I assume is normal with the 4k60 S+ because of the onboard encoder) or change the Format to a lower resolution.

I am in the process of designing a stream setup to where both my wife and I are playing independently on our own computers utlizing capture cards to send all of our data to a Laptop as our streaming PC.

Because it's all on a single root hub, that 4GBPS maximum throughput is shared across all devices, and it's at the internal hardware level, so there's no workaround for it other than buy a new PC
Going via your PC then to the laptop would defeat the purpose of using the laptop in the first place, as then your PC has to decode it, taking away your PC performance

Unless they patched it recently, there's firmware from Elgato that breaks it.
You'll want to check in the GoXLR Discord (which you'll have to Google), and see if they can get it working, as they handle all the StreamDeck stuff for GoXLR.

Hello. I have two pc's. One is gaming the other is streaming. I am not getting any sound through my HD60 S+ to my streaming pc. Do you have any suggestions? I have video through the 4k Capture Utility but no sound. I have my sound selected on the gaming pc to the HD60 S+ (Nvidia High Definition). But still no sound. even unplugged and replugged the device in, still no sound.

I am not sure what happened but last night, I was streaming with my Elgato and now the audio for it is only coming out of one side of my headset and there is popping in the other side.. What is strange is, this is JUST Elgato. Music, VC, anything else with sounds works perfectly. So it's not my headset. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still nothing. I just want to say I am very happy the Key Light screw threads are standard photography mount size. While the desk clamp/mount is heavy duty, it just didn't work with my desk that has beveled edges; however, my old umbrella lamp stands have the same thread sizes, so I can use those floor standing telescoping poles! It works perfectly.

I actually tried that, but it was either too low (behind the monitors) even when mounted upside down from the top shelf. If I mounted it rightside up from the bottom shelf it was way too high IMO. This was the only way to make it work.

Hello, i have a bit of a problem with my 4k60Pro capturecard. i only have 1 hdmi port on my gpu so i tried to use a DP to hdmi adapter, but when i restart my pc and i start the 4k capture utility it always says "no signal" i have to plug the adapter out and in again for it to work. maybe somone know how to fix this?!

I’m having issues getting game sound through my PlayStation using the chat link cable I have settings set to all audio through the controller and I can hear it on my headset good but in OBS when I do a test recording it’s not coming through on the recording

I got a Camlink and a Canon M50. I connected my Canon M50 with a USB cable to my PC and with the HDMI cable to my Camlink to my pc and I use a power adabter. (I use the second cable so the camera will stay active). My problem is that my camera sometimes stops working and goes to green. This does not happen when I use the camera for filming, only when I connect it to the pc. Could this be a malfunctioning Camlink? Or do you have any idea how I might solve this problem. I have tried replacing the USB and HDMI cables, I bought a new power adapter and I tried a different SD card. I even tried a different pc. @pulsar marsh if you hook up The Elgato Thunderbolt 3 Dock or Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock to a Thunderbolt 2 computer using the Apple adapter, you will get all the features of the Thunderbolt 3 Dock, with a few exceptions. No charging (Thunderbolt 2 doesn't support charging). No dual 4K60 support, because you are limited to Thunderbolt 2 speeds. You will be able to use the USB 3.0 ports.

@south bronze Looks like you're getting dropped frames. It's possible your CPU is maxed out during the capture. Check your Task Manager to see your CPU usage when capture video. You may need to lower your resolution and bitrate.

Hi everyone, I am having tons of problems capturing PS4 party chat while I stream with the Elgato HD60 Pro. I have the Elgato Chat Link cable and set it up exactly as shown in the video. The problem seems to be with the line in. I stream through SLOBS and when I go to the Elgato Properties I can't choose Analog Audio input, and when in Elgato capture software is give a yellow triangle warning symbol next to Audio Input (Line in).
My goal is to stream through SLOBS and also be able to join ps4 party and their voices be hear through the stream as well. It is not clear for me if I should connect my headset Astro A40 to the pc or to ps4.

Curious if anyone has heard of this Stream Deck problem before.
Seemingly completely at random, a button on one page will cause a button on a different page in the same position to be replaced with a duplicate of the first, completely removing any settings that were previously on it. It doesn't always happen, and I can't detect a pattern. It seems to be most common with scenes and sources.
I think most of the time it happens after moving something. So I'll move a scene transition in a folder to the center position for example, then go back to the main page, and now whatever was in that center spot has been deleted and replaced with a copy of the scene from the folder.

I recently bought the HD60 S and its working amazingly! But whenever I record a voice over I can hear myself, and when I mute the audio so I don't hear myself, I can't hear the game audio.
Basically, is there a way to not hear my own voice when voiceovering but still hear the console audio?

It has the perk that you can hear if your audio is too high/low compared to the gaming audio
Which software do you use? If you're adamant that you don't want to monitor your own voice, then I recommend using a separate recording software

@south bronze Looks like you're getting dropped frames. It's possible your CPU is maxed out during the capture. Check your Task Manager to see your CPU usage when capture video. You may need to lower your resolution and bitrate.

Hello! I purchased a 4K Cam Link a few weeks back and it worked fine initially and I set it aside till I got my A6000 in for my stream studio. After plugging in the device and opening the 4K Capture utility it just says device is in use by another application. I've spent the last 3 hours ensuring there are no other apps utilizing the camera, tried all the various USB ports, restarting, rebooting ect on my streaming rig. After this I tried the device on 2 other machines...one that had a brand new Windows 10 Pro install on it and I am getting the same message which leads me to believe there is an issue with the device itself unless Windows has pushed out an update that would cause this issue. Any ideas?

@hearty adder Give this a try: Go to Stream Deck Preferences and backup all your Profiles -> Once you backed them up, delete all the Profiles listed in the Stream Deck Preferences -> Uninstall and re-install. This will retain some of your settings, but it's better to go step-by-step instead of deleting all of your Preferences and Settings right away. If this works, it will save you time in the long run.

Hey I am having an issue with Elgato streamdeck software. I am currently running it as administrator, and when I launch the app it tries to do a software update and then stops responding. The whole app becomes unresponsive and I am forced to close the app and re-open to be greeted with the same software update followed by not responding. I'm having an issue installing the StreamElements OBS.Live plugin. All other plugins install no problem except this one. Someone in another channel was able to download it, so it should work. Every time I click the install button, it shows the bar, fills the bar and then goes back to a button that says "Install". I've made sure my software is up to date, the Stream Deck has the most up to date firmware and I've tried relaunching the application.

For anyone wondering about my previous issue. i was able to resolve it by doing a complete uninstall of Stream Deck(including registry and ProgramData) and reinstalled. I was able to install all my plugins.

I dug out my old HD60S to use with my PS4.
See my setup in the attached picture.
Issue: Elgato Game Capture HD shows that there is a Signal, the screen is black, when the signal is initialized, there is a brief moment of audio, then nothing
Notes:
• Game Capture HD was installed today, latest version of the software (3.70.43 (3043) 64-bit
• PS4 is running the latest version (7.50)
• Video and audio works fine between the PS4 and the Screen via the HDMI switch
• The HDMI switch will pass HDCP or not (it doesn't care)
• The PS4 has had HDCP disabled
• Regardless of whether the Game Capture HD is running or not, there is still no issues with the video on the screen
• Audio is still present over optical
• The PC and PS4 have been reset since setup
• Edit: Same issue with the Nintendo Switch

Hey guys i have an issue with my HD60s pro, for some reason it keeps muting everything i do on my computer, for example when i play a video on youtube i have to go to the task bar, click on the speaker button and tell the system i want the output to be the headphones i have, but it automatically sets it again as the elgato capture card, how can i fix this?

everything runs fine. 4k pass through works fine. x1x recognizes 4k. pass through seems to be working. stream preview looks great. live stream looks great. but the the output doesnt have the colors that im capturing are no where near the same. :/

Morning all (or afternoon, or even evening! 😄 ) I have a bit of a setup question for the streamdeck I have. Is it possible to say - open up a program (in my case Opera GX ) and then as a multi action - use THAT program to open up a website? Bare in mind Opera is not set as my default browser - for good reason. Chrome is my hongry chonky and Opera is my stream slim jim. Is there a way to program that that I havent figured out yet, or not so much a thing?

Can anybody help? So I use memeboard and replay buffer on streamlabs obs for my in stream memes/animations and to toggle the replay hotkey to save clips. When I am in warzone the keys on my streamdeck do not work unless I tab out or put my cursor back in OBS. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Hi, I recently started having issues with my 4K Capture Card. After working reliably for months, now when I boot the computer my display capture looks like this. The only way I've found to resolve it is a reboot. First boot it's like this, reboot it's fine. Every time so far.
Any idea what the issue could be? I tried reseating all cables and it doesn't make sense it would be a cable issue anyways since rebooting is fixing it.

That’s your video input taking in what it thinks is good video and displaying it to you
I can’t determine the specific issue from just a photo, but it’s somewhere in your input. Could be the ports/cords or even the capture card itself

I agree, but it's strange that it's happening consistently after a cold boot, and a reboot fixes it. Has happened the last 4 times I've booted this capture PC.
I don't see what's different between the cold boot vs the reboot, I don't see any other variable that is being changed.

Perhaps a component in your capture card didn’t shut down properly during the cold boot. That could happen if devices don’t have proper safety measures for that
Kind of like how old usb drives would corrupt if you unplugged them without ejecting first
That is strange that it acts that way, though. Are you plugging in from a third-party port?

Then go into Windows Device Manager, find the 4K60 Pro inside of Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. Right click on it and go to Uninstall.
Then reinstall 4K Capture Utility 1.7: https://edge.elgato.com/egc/windows/spotlight/1.7.0/4KCaptureUtility_1.7.0.4587_x64.msi and reboot. Let me know if it helps.

@jade nimbus One suggestion is the original Game Capture HD, which has been discontinued, comes with a D Terminal cable for the PS3 because there is no way for users to disable HDCP on a PS3. You could probably find a used unit online.

@sour lake Does the passthrough audio work? You could try updating the USB 3 controller driver to the latest offered by the USB 3 controller manufacturer.

Does anyone know how to have the Stream Deck open a program that is set to "Run as Administrator"???
I run SLOBS as Administrator, but when I try to get the Stream Deck to open it, the message pops up and I cant proceed until I click "Yes"
I tried setting up some hot keys Left to Highlight "Yes" and then Enter to select it, but no dice.

If you’re on windows then right-clicking the application should show you the option to run as admin

I have an audio problem with HD60 S+ it won't record game audio unless it has an AUX cord pluged in directly into my switch, ps4 , wii U etc is there anyway without using an aux to get audio that would be great thanks?

Hi folks, thanks in advance for any advice. I have a 4k60 pro in my stream pc for capturing gameplay. I use OBS to stream at 720p and Elgato 4k capture utility to record at 1440p and a high frame rate. I am about to add a camera to my setup, and I similarly want to be able to add the camera as a source to OBS for streaming, but also record in 1080p. If I connect the camera to either a cam link or an HD60S, can I have my 4k60pro and camera (via hd60s/cam link) as sources in OBS and record both of them at the same time using elgato capture utility? Or is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do?

ok so i stream and also mod a friends stream. As a mod i can do his scene switches by typing in the chat !main, !intermission, etc. Now I know i can add text functions on the streamdeck to enter those phrases and then hit enter to do it but it only works if i first make sure i have the cursor in the chat line on his stream. Is there a way to make the button press put the cursor there as well?

it doesn't have any HDMI passthrough though
it's purely just capture, so you would probably need to use something like a splitter so you can see what appears for gameplay (unless it's a mirrored HDMI on a PC)

Hello I have a elgato HD60 S and it used to work back when I first bought it, but now my PC for some reason never detects it when I have both HDMI cords plugged into my PC and switch. I've tried restarting my PC and unplugging everything and then plugging it back in, but it never seems to detect my capture card.

@tribal basin what DSLR? For the most part, you take a compatible HDMI cable that fits your DSLR (typically either a micro or mini-HDMI) and plug it into the 4K60Pro.

(live rn, had to uninstall obs.live to fix lag issues, but now) . . . "Elgato Remote Control Plugin" isn't working, so streamdeck isn't picking up my OBS Studio fresh install?
I'm still unsure on why there's no manual plugin file download option, we shouldn't have to reinstall the entire SD software to fix the OBS connection issue.

I'm getting the old USB 3.0 connection issue.
Using the cable supplied with my HD60s on an Asus Z390a motherboard I'm unable to get Game Capture to display anything, merely stating "Device must be connected to a USB 3.0"
Tried reinstalling drivers and checking bios, reinstalled drivers for USB hubs, (listed as 3.0 in windows), the HD60s, etc
this is not a new capture card. It was working for a full year before this issue suddenly occured.
Additionally, I tested other USB type C to standard USBs as well as type Cs in terms of cables.
All other 3.0 devices were working on my PC.

I'm still having issues with a 4k 60 mk ii. Mid-stream the image will split into two and the only way is to deactivate reactivate it in OBS. I came in here once asking for help and was given a specific driver to use but the clip attached was after this driver. I have tried connecting with Elgato 3 times already. Twice by email with no response whatsoever and second by phone which someone picked up and the call dropped and never called back. Like what are ya doing to help the people who have issues with your products? Also, the 4k60pro MK2 if anyone is having issues with it, the software is complete shit for it, I have tried 3 different cards in 2 different computers, all the same bugginess.

@halcyon finch for audio and ps4 if you are using a headset you will need a chat link cable. PS4 will only do audio out headset or hdmi not both.

you wouldnt get spotify to your headset, it splits the console sound to headset and elgato
if you wanted to be able to hear spotify and stuff as well you would need some type of mixer.

Hey, my Twitch Chat links have stopped working. I have things like a Discord button that puts my discord link and a chat message into chat. I have a twitter one and an insta one etc, all of them are now giving me a
