@quaint heart Nothing should be connected to your GPU. Not sure whats going on there.
@hoary goblet Nothing needs to be changed, unless you're experiencing problems with the Gaming PC not sending 144hz properly.
If it does, then you can go into 4K Capture Utility, Settings. Device tab. Change EDID Mode to internal, and then change the Internal EDID to 1440p.
@south bronze I haven't tested 1440p with it, but 1080p60 from the camera doesn't look good for you?

@clear willow Normal is probably buffering more than usual, but that looks to be a function of OBS Link. That said, I've never used OBS Link myself because I don't have a Mac.

Hey guys! I have an HD60 Pro and I am using it to record footage of my SNES classic and I am hearing occasional audio crackles that is picked up in the recording in OBS. I don't believe i get the same problems when I am streaming footage of my Xbox One X through the same capture card that I have noticed. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

@slim beacon I've had that exact same issue happen to me. If you're using a Ryzen X370, B350, or A320 motherboard, update the motherboards BIOS to latest. Make sure you follow the steps correctly in order to update the BIOS as well. After this, completely uninstall any and all Elgato software, and reinstall it.

if it's a prebuilt system then it definitely isn't. If you built it yourself, but never checked to see if the bios was up to date, then it definitely isn't either way.

So I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this issue or has noticed. I run an Elgato 4k60Pro. The colors on my gaming monitor are vibrant. However when I am using Slobs to record and stream. I notice the colors are not vibrant. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Is there a way to fix this? Not sure where to start.

@cunning latch I figured out the problem, the Nintendo Switch has issues with audio cables sometimes and require a Ground Noise Isolator (Which I have one connected to my headphones) and forgot I need to get another one for it to record with good audio (I have a splitter so i can use 2 audio cables from my switch)

I have attempted disconnecting the mic and putting it back. Tried using it on another device, sounds fine.
I tried making sure both my razer sieren mic setting and the voicemod pro setting were the same khz. In case that was the issue.

Hi I’m using a chat link cable for my PS4. Everything is setup correctly. My game audio is going through my desktop audio so I’m able to hear the audio instead of it going through my tv. But when I switch it to analog audio, there’s no audio from my ps4 going through to obs. Any reasons why?

Was the original issue that OBS was not detecting any audio at all, or no audio was going to the Desktop Audio like you originally setup?

I did it through properties. I have the chat link so I could speak with my friends. I’m hearing all the audio go to my headset. But none of it is being transferred to my obs desktop audio. @cunning latch

hello i have a little problem with my Elgato 4k60Pro capture card. after a little break from streaming my Game Capture Card doesn't work properly anymore. i can plugin the hdmi in and out cables from my console so that i can see my game on my monitor. When i open elgato software like Game Capture HD or other things it says "plug in your Game Capture device" i looked up all the driver updates but it's still not working. It's been known to mess with HD60 Pros which is why I'd give it a check. It's essentially Windows hibernate. It happens on shut down. Restarting windows though is like a proper start.

I did read that if I have Wifi enabled on the camera that it won’t connect to a computer so I was gonna check that when I get home.
The cam link does show up in device manager as well when it’s plugged in with or without the camera

@signal sun I Have solved the Problem... the Problem was that i have Plugged the HD60S and The Camlnk 4k in the Same USB Root Host... after i found out what the problem was, i Plugged the both Hardwares in seperate USB Root Hosts, so both worked corectly

@cunning latch im using an Elgato HD60, whenever its plugged in the output to the monitor gives darker colours and is blurry (it is set to PC in Elgato Settings), and when its not plugged into the monitor everything goes back to normal.

Hey all, I just bought an HD60 Pro and I'm having an issue.
I got it installed and running easily enough, the issue is while capturing the video from a second PC the bios and everything that displays before Windows opens is green or green and red. After Windows loads all the colors are fine and everything looks great, it's just the Bios that is having a problem.
Things I tried:
different cables, different GPU on the 2nd PC, various restarts, checked for latest BIOS/ drivers ect...
If I was streaming/recording gameplay this wouldn't be an issue, but the main content I want to do is PC overclocking which is mainly done in bios so wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix this?

@limpid adder Just the PC that has the card installed. Just like how you wouldn't need to install the driver on your Xbox to capture from it, the gaming PC just sees an HDMI monitor as the 4K60 Pro.

Do you have other PCIe slots that the HD60 Pro could be installed in? if the driver reinstall doesn't help, I'd also try moving it to another slot.

@wide roost Just was looking to see it for myself. But whenever you get a chance, open up OBS Studio like you mentioned, do a test recording. Stop recording. and then post an OBS log I can look through it.
Or. Just right click on your HD60 S layer, go to Properties. Then Click on Configure Video and post an image of what shows up there. This image is the MK,2, but it looks similar on the HD60 S.

Could anyone walk me through setting up a stream deck hotkey to enable and disable screen preview on obs? I know how to set up scene transitions, set up event action lists or whatever its call, turn of specific things within scenes but I can't figure out how to enable and disable the preview window in obs with a stream deck hotkey. Then whatever you set as the hotkey here, make a Hotkey button to correspond to it in Stream Deck under the System action set.
OBS Studio's integration doesn't support messing with the preview, so this is done through hotkeys for now.

Unsure if you know the program, it allows to do audio routing in software. The idea is to route the elgato audio through voicemeter to OBS
You may be able to do this with the elgato software, but I haven't used it and would not count on it

Our cards natively run at 48Khz, so you won't be able to change the rate the card's function at. And Game Capture will be encoding/recording to 48Khz.

Also I'd definitely suggest changing USB 3.0 ports since low FPS could sometimes be caused by USB bandwidth problemss.

@cunning latch I was having some serious issues with audio and OBS crackling if you read up. I found that changing the Switch EQ to more treble reduced most of it but if you know a potential fix for this I'd appreciate it. The issue only happens in OBS using the HD 60 Pro but not Elgato directly.

@low timber HD60 S+ sort of works like our Cam Link. Go into your Windows Sound Settings and be sure the HD60 S+ isn't muted.
Also be sure Windows 10's privacy options allow microphone use.

Ok, inside SLOBS. Go to the 4K60 Pro Properties, then go to configure video. What driver does it show listed there?

Yes, but one of the previous solutions generally will have worked. Either the port is the issue, or Windows Privacy is blocking the card, or they're trying to use Game Capture HD.

@quick copper OBS Link is only for HD60 S. You don't need anything special for the HD60 S+. It works directly in OBS Studio.
Can you confirm if Game Capture HD is pulling in a signal from the HD60 S+?

So this happens alot with streamdeck. If i freshly boot up my pc and start streaming on mixer my streamdeck chat buttons work. But after awhile they stop working and when pressed i get the yellow triangle. Only way to get them to work again is by restarting my pc

I use a GTX 2080 Ti and the new Capture Card 4K60 PRO. When I open OBS the software shows me the picture from the PS4. But as soon as I open 4K Capture Utility and select the 4K60 the software says "The device is used by other software". I have seen in videos that this should work. Can you help me?

i want on the one hand record the ps4 game with ingame audio and on the other side record my face. after record bring everything in premiere together. i connect the ps4 with the capture card an a optical cable for sound with a goxlr mini. i opend the 4k capture utility app and cant record with audio (i dont know why) i cant open the software again for the camlink4k so i try to user obs for my face and voive.
bevor i user the ndi source i had the problem that i dont get the ps4 view on 4k capture and obs at the same time. now with ndi source it works. when i change in 4k capture back to camlink as source my pictures of my face freeze in 4k capture and obs

@hollow nebula Hmm. I'm not sure what directly would be causing this.
As a sanity check I'd maybe try opening Game Capture HD. Turn off Stream Command and Flashback recording in preferences and check what the idle CPU usage is there.

@inner herald After looking at the lane layout, it's a weird for an X570 because it doesn't have dual x16 CPU-connected slots. But maybe that's a more common thing with X570.
You only have one configuration in terms of connectivity. The 4K60 Pro MK.2 will have to connect through the chipset, that's the lower fullsize slot. One NVME will also connect through the chipset. And one NVME drive will be directly connected to the CPU like normal AM4 platforms.
If you weren't yet building a system, a motherboard with a different slot layout like the Crosshair VIII, Prime X570-Pro, Strix X570-E, or Strix X570-F could have the 2080 in the top slot. 4K60 Pro in the middle slot. Both cards would have dedicated lanes to the CPU without sharing. Though all those motherboards are more expensive, sometimes much more so.
However with that said, the 4K60 Pro MK.2, as with all our PCIe cards, is PCIe 2.0. Or 1/4th that of PCIe 4.0. So if everything on paper works as expected there shouldn't be a bottleneck in the chipset even with both NVME drives since they're all connecting to the CPU through four PCIe 4.0 lanes or ~7GB/s. So there is plenty of bandwidth on paper.
My concern is that with the motherboard you linked, if for some reason you have problems with the card, you have no alternative configuration.
With all that said, I use an X470 Crosshair VII with a 3950x and have my 4K60 Pro MK.2 going through my chipset without problems. But my board does not support M.2/NVME connecting through the chipset like your TUF X570. So my 4K60 Pro is almost the only bandwidth user besides SATA and USB.

If you're just referring to changing profiles, you just need the iCUE Stream Deck Plugin added. You can then just directly choose which profile to change to.

Yo dudes, I'm not really a photographer or a steamer, mainly at the moment I'm planning on using my Sony A7 as a glorified webcam for Skype.
When I plug it in with the camlink the video that my pc monitor displays is grainy and horrible, however it becomes nice and crisp when I click the video record button on the camera, but obviously I don't want to have to actually have the camera recording when ever I went to user it as a webcam.
Can any one tell me how to get the image as clear as if the camera were recording?

Do you have it on auto mode?
It sounds like it does some noise compensation (the grains are usually called noise). Look into your setting, in this case it sounds and looks like the ISO is the problem
I'll have to urge you to look into the following three:
frame rate and shutter speed
aperture and f-stop
ISO
Also make sure the room you're using for your Skype calls are as lit as possible

SO! Shutter speed should be approx double that of framerate (to make the most natural look), that's usually 30FPS then 1/60th shutterspeed.
F-stop should be low-ish, the lower the f-stop the shallower the focus AND the lighter the light
ISO is a finniky one, I believe the A7 has two native? Look into that and set it to native ISO

Anyone have suggestions on the elgato key light? I've restarted it over 20 times. It will connect to wifi with the control center app. Then disappear after 5-10 seconds. I'd then power restart the light, and same would occur
Further testing, I can close the control center app and reopen and it will stay active for another 5-10 seconds at a time without force power resetting the light.

The light stays on at the current settings, but hard to test all the shades. I turned it off overnight through the app. It wouldnt turn on today until I flipped the power switch on and off. While then reloading the app a few times.
*rather the app didnt see it this morning until I flip it on and off
I initially set it up through my phone, due to the wifi. After that, I've been doing it on the pc app. If this helps, for reference

The Spotify plugin is using the APIs available from Spotify. Just like other API providers, they have a rate limit to ensure their APIs are not getting abused. However, UNLIKE OTHER API PROVIDERS Spotify is putting the limit on the APP (i.e. the Plugin) and NOT on the User. This basically means that as more people join/use the plugin the more EVERYONE gets throttled (even if you did nothing wrong). BarRaider has specifically reached out to Spotify to ask that they increase the limits or provide some sort of solution. @south bronze If it's the G5 I'm seeing it has a i5 9400. 6 Cores. 2.9Ghz base. Should work for streaming fine. I just wouldn't immediately go to 1080p 60fps. Start with 720p and see how it goes.
Twitch has made lots of weird changes to their login API over the last year and we've had to implement some changes to work around it. So good to know the specific version you have

@tidal sedge I'd try reinstalling Game Capture HD. But also clear your cookies and cache from your system's browser. Also be sure you have 2factor Authentication on for Twitch. Twitch requires 2 Factor to Stream. Otherwise I'm not sure what would cause that problem and I'd probably call or email us about it

So streamdeck wasn't picking up OBS Studio on-stream tonight. I closed OBS after stream, uninstalled SD software and installed fresh copy then reopened OBS after it was done. SD still isn't picking up Studio. . .

i only bought the Elgato Game Capture to capture the Wii.
for everything else, i have the Game Capture HS60S.
but that one thing it has to do, it doesn't.
no matter what i try. gamecube, homebrew (emulator), and i think i tried wii games too.
50hz or 60hz.
there is some weird flickering/twitching in the capture, which you will see in the video i recorded.
BUT: it is ONLY in the capture on PC. on my screen (HDMI output of the Game Capture HD) it looks perfectly fine!
also: this happens in all applications.

- tried Streamlabs OBS
- tried OBS Studio
my original thought was "mabye the elgato software can handle it" ... but nope ...
does anyone know how to propperly capture the wii and fix that issue? tried all kinds of settings.

Is there any way to change the back button position for one specific folder (I know officially there isn't, but plugin developers have been quite snazzy and found ways to do it)? Since for most folders, the positioning is fine with the back button at the top left, but the Bitfocus Companion app is strict about its placement of buttons so it needs to use the top left 5x3 (row by column) section for its stuff. Trying to place the buttons elsewhere breaks it. So was wondering if there was a way to have the back button at the bottom left for that specific folder only.

and from other profiles, you make a "back" button, that leads back to the main profile

@rare tide Yes, in general you can use two Elgato capture cards at the same time. Only exception is with our original HD or HD60. Only one of those can be active at once on a system.
@frail burrow You're using a 240hz monitor connected to the 4K60 Pro output? Does that monitor report 240hz?
Try going into 4K Capture Utility. Go to Settings, Device tab. Then change the EDID mode to internal. Then change the internal EDID to 1080p.

@cunning latch Yes the monitor is set to 240hz and it runs perfectly fine at 240hz when the capture card is disabled. when i clone the card it is making games run at about 60hz in windowed mode. I already have the EDID mode and the Internal EDID set to 1080p.

@tropic shuttle So battery is draining fast when the HD60 S is connected, but the Macbook is connected to a charger? The HD60 S does need power to enable the passthrough, but it uses only about 2watts.
Is Game Capture open when the battery is draining? What wattage is the charger?

Hello everyone, I just bought an elgato gamecapture 60s.
I have a problem since I cloned my main screen.
I no longer played in full screen windows at 144 fps, forced to put full screens to have 144 fps.
is that normal or are there solutions?

when i try and stream on twitch, i always get this white "Game Capture HD" tab that doesn't load, after waiting. it stops me from using the main tab i'm using, insisting there's something to do on the white tab before going live and so i can't stream on twitch. What should I do?

The bottom image is when using the 'Elgato Game Capture HD' option list. You can certainly still use that.
What did you need to use that window for?
@tropic shuttle Only thing I could personally think of is that if the software is open, then by default Flashback recording is running which means your computer is actively encoding and recording in the background. This would significantly raise the power requirements of the computer.
Try going into Game Capture settings and disabling flashback. This would just be to see if we can prove it's the laptop pulling more power.
If it begins to charge, then you may need a higher power charger

No. I've just set up one now.
It still sends me to a page where I have to log onto twitch when I press the "stream" button, but now requires a security code via text. I've entered it and it's worked, but I'm getting the blank white tab like before again.

@minor ice try holding CTRL when adding the Twitch account, should switch to an older login method.
Also what version of Windows 10 do you have installed? You can open the start menu, type 'winver' and hit enter.
And what version of Game Capture HD?

Check for any Windows 10 updates.
Lastly, if you could provide the laptop's model, I can look up the USB 3.0 drivers for it. That may also help.
Sometimes it's the USB 3.0 controller that is misbehaving.

Sound Capture is currently a Windows app only. So for MacOS, the Game Capture HD software won't show anything there.
So you're on a Mac, are you capturing another Mac?

I don't use a mac, but you should just need to go into your Mac's sound settings to set your HDMI output as the new audio output so that it's captured and recorded.
But we'd want to be clear that we don't really recommend using a single computer to both play the game and capture. It offers no real benefit. We almost always suggest using one computer to do all the capturing.

Sure. That would improve performance a lot.
Audio may still be weird to setup. But if you're using headphones, you could simply use a 3.5mm headphone splitter to connect your headphones to the Mac and also connect a 3.5mm cable from the splitter into the HD60 S.

The HD60 S's audio port is an input. So you'd connect a headphone splitter to the Mac's headphone port. Connect headphones to one side of the splitter.
Then connect a male to male. 3.5mm Aux cable from the other side of the splitter into the HD60 S. Then set your software to capture analog audio in the settings.
