I'm using the elgato 4k capture card, if I set the EDID to 1440 and use Internal as my setting - I seem to get a 'no video' from anything in fullscreen mode, for gaming. Any ideas?
It works fine if I plug in a secondary 1440p screen and change the mode to use the screen.
am I missing something basic?
@errant light - Windows only allows you to send audio out to 1 destination (headset or speakers etc) at a time, you can either use VoiceMeeter or use a hardware mixer, like a goxlr mini for example.

I have a capture card in my streaming pc connected to my gaming pc. If i have my mic and headphones connected to my gaming pc, can i capture game/discord audio through the capture card, and then use audio out from the streaming pc to get obs sounds to my headphones? would the sound duplicate to the capture card?

You can do the same thing with voicemeeter and a midi usb controller.

My HD60s capture card all of a sudden is putting through a black picture. It's not saying that it's not detecting anything, the screen is just black so I can't tell if anything is even being put through at all. I messed around with it for a bit and a picture showed but then when black again

@exotic tiger After looking at the notes on the case, looks like most things were checked properly. Your configure video showed 3840x2160 being input so I don't think it's a setting on the GH5. If 4KCU only ever showed 1080p input then sounds like something driver or card related.
I see it got escalated to tier 3 though, so I'll check what they say soon.

Anyone else have In Game FPS problems with 2 PC Setup and Cloning your Gaming Monitor with the Elgato? I started with the HD60 Pro, and while hooked up to 2 PC, my in game FPS was 60. I then returned it and got the 4KPro MK.2. I have 144Mhz 1ms Monitor going from Display Port to DP Port on my 2080 Card. Then From HDMI Port on the back of the 2080 Card to the IN Port of Elgato on the Streaming PC. My Monitors are Cloned, and when I play for instance Sea of Thieves, my in game FPS is complete CRAP. between 30-60. As SOON as I unplug the Elgato connection, my frames jump to 144. Does anyone know why this is doing this with certain games???

Well that's probably the microphone you have selected inside of Streamlabs OBS. Make sure the Xbox is set to all stereo uncompressed in the settings.
What headset are you using? I see in your stream it's greyed out

Try setting the Headset Format from Windows Sonic to Stereo Uncompressed. Seems when it's on WIndows Sonic it overrides the options in the middle.
Otherwise I'm not sure our normal support team opens back up in 9 Hours.
If you get nothing in Game Capture HD as well, that's what makes me think it's something on the Xbox side.
And does this audio problem happen in other games too?

Ok, then inside of Streamlabs OBS. Either delete your Elgato layer and re-make it, or go into its properties and make sure Audio Output Mode is set to capture audio only.
And inside of your Audio Mixer, make sure the Video Capture Device layer or whatever layer the Elgato is set to isn't muted.
If it's working in GCHD, then it sounds like a config issue with Streamlabs OBS

If you're using the 'Elgato Game Capture HD' device in Streamlabs OBS which it looks like you are, try going to the Properties again of the HD60 S layer, then go to Configure Video.
Make sure 'With Analog Audio' is unchecked as well.
That would also override your audio input and could cause it to have no audio coming in.

Yea the issue in the article is their instructions are perfect if you're using a Chat Link adapter. Which you aren't. So those instructions aren't really relevant.

Xbox One had an update years ago which allows Gameplay and Party chat to go over HDMI to be captured, but Game/Lobby Chat only goes to the headset.

Sometimes that output is called a Stream Port. Lets you send a custom mix to be recorded usually

But How can I do it without lag?
I tried Streamlabs OBS which works fine. But as soon as I hit fullscreen, it starts lagging like heck.

Is there a way to have those different macro keys be assigned to swap my stream deck profiles? I know there is now Corsair integration with their keyboard, so I'm curious if there's a way for me to replicate that with my Logitech board.

AND i use the GOXLT so i plugged the spdif. So my problem is, when my monitor is on HDMI input i have the sound directly from my monitor or i want to have it on my headphone from goxlr. so atm if i want to got that, i need to play at my ps4 from the software elgato 4k capture, but that look little bit input lag. someone can help me pls. and sry for my english, thx

I purchased a hd60s+ I don't need the 4k but thought it would be nice to have it rhere In case for later. When I open the 4k capture app on the pc , i can see my ps4 screen but then it freezes and won't stream.. i had a quick look at the specs and it said i need a gtx 10xx or higher graphics card. Currently i have a gtx970 , would this be my issue? I just dont wanna go waste another 300.00 on a g card if it's going to do the same thing. TIA

if not, you can chalk that as another thing that doesnt make a difference in getting 4k into OBS
i suspected as much because theres an additional setting in the camera that i can do to force 8bit/420 for 4k60 since you need pretty state of the art HDMI ports to handle 10bit/422

@desert skiff I'm really not sure what you're asking. The HD60 S, HD60 S+, HD60 Pro, 4K60 Pro, 4K60 Pro MK.2, Cam Link, and Cam Link 4K all send uncompressed video into the PC. However right now, none of them send RGB/444. Generally 4:2:0 or 4:2:2.
Virtualdub can record uncompressed or lossless video if you use the proper codec. If you need a .raw file, then ffmpeg may be what you want to mess with to convert it. If you're recording uncompressed or lossless, converting to a raw file later isn't going to introduce any compression. OBS Studio has ffmpeg support which is why I mentioned it. You'd choose 'rawvideo (video)' as your container format. Though it defaults to a .YUV file which is planar 420. So you should be able to simply rename the file to .raw
Though if your analyzing framerates, I'd stick to Virtualdub and just watch the statistics to look for dropped frames. OBS Studio isn't perfect in its frame consistency and you need to look in logs to see if it dropped anything. As long as you're on the latest HD60 Pro drivers, it will be a capture option in Vdub.
Go to File> Capture AVI. Then under Device be sure the HD60 Pro is selected. Then go to Video > Preview and make sure it's checked. Then Video > Preview Acceleration is set to "Progressive - Both Fields."
Go to Video > Capture Pin. Set your resolution of the card and set it to RGB24. Other modes seem to not work. Go to File > Set Capture File and choose where to record. 1080p60 uncompressed RGB24 will be like 300MB/s so an SSD or two in RAID is good.
The default format is uncompressed BGR24. According to mediainfo it's essentially rawvideo in an AVI container. So remuxing it into a .raw file shouldn't be too difficult. If you want to record to an HD with minimal CPU overhead, I'd download the UTVideo codec pack. And just choose the RGB24 codec from the list.
Besides this, not sure if we can help. But since our devices are either UVC or Directshow, you should be able to find a solution.
@exotic tiger It shouldn't require a reboot. What menu are you looking at in the GH5? 10bit 422 4K60 over HDMI is just 2.0. It's not a port issue. 4K60 Pro and 4K60 Pro both input 10bit video, but for the MK.2 it's not going to treat it as 10bit video as you'd expect unless it has HDR metadata, because that's the use-case. 10bit exists on the card because it's needed for HDR10.
Do you have this 4K/1080p problem in OBS when the GH5 is running in 8Bit Video Format or 8Bit over HDMI?

Hello all so I have a weird one , So I have two elgato mk.2 4k60 pros installed on my streaming pc. On my gaming pc I have a 2070 rtx card and have two hdmis coming from my gpu , one goes to the one In on the one capture card and the second hdmi goes to the in on the second card. My streaming pc picks up both inputs from the gaming pc, however I am only able to see the output from my gaming pc on one monitor, the second output going to a different monitor is not getting a signal but shows up in windows. How do I fix this so I can see the second pass through on my other monitor

@edgy flume Oh you're streaming to friends on Discord, so you're wanting to capture the window. There are a couple solutions. If you are fine with how it works but you just don't want to hear things twice you can mute the audio preview inside of 4K Capture Utility on the bottom right.
You can also natively connect your capture card as a Video Device in Discord's Video Settings like a webcam.
Or another option is using OBS Studio with the VirtualCam Plugin. Will let you send video from OBS Studio to Discord. I have it running here.
If the issue is input lag, you can still play on your monitor but mute 4K Capture Utility. Audio being sent to someone specifically will still be a challenge though

@cunning latch no it's 1 pc, with limited Audio io, he wants to send his PC mic audio to his xbox controller. It's possible with his setup if he buys an adapter i linked him for little money as he cannot do it with the alienware wrapped version of the realtek audio control panel. he could always uninstall and reinstall a non wrapped version.

@south bronze For the Xbox One, HDCP is kept on until the console is fully shut off. So... no not really. Assuming it actually is HDCP.

Xbox One doesn't have a toggle like PS4.
You just have to be certain you never view videos from friends or open up media apps

Nvenc instantiates from the driver, and since you updated your drivers that should be resolved

Can't even record with the 4K capture utility. It says it is recording, but the files ends up as 0mb
Id rather record with Nvenc, but since x264 looks to be working, i have to use that, but the files are not there.
I hit the record button on the utility and end up with 3 files. _flashback.json, _flashback.mp4 and an m4a file. These are all 0 kb except the tson which is 2kb

@void coral I've had something similar happen for my files and my HD60 Pro, but it seems to be related to the 4KCU app being opened for a period of time before my console is booted. If I close the 4KCU app, then reopen it while my console is already on, I can then use the flashback recording.

Hi there! I'm having some issues with my new capture card (4k60 pro).
I'm running a dual PC setup without passthrough.
Game monitor connected to graphics card via displayport, graphics card connected to cap card via hdmi with displays mirrored.
I have voicemeeter potato set up on both pc's, routing mic from stream PC (SPC) to gaming PC (GPC) via VBAN.
Routing desktop audio from SPC to GPC via VBAN (for alerts).
Routing desktop audio (game sounds etc) from GPC to SPC via elgato sound capture
My current issue is that there's a substantial amount of delay in the game audio compared to visuals. Unsure why as they're both coming from the cap card so there shouldn't be any difference? It seems like every time I fix one issue I get a new one, surely I'm making this harder than it needs to be but I've been at it for at least 10 hours now and I'm going nuts lol

@hollow eagle Ohkayyy. So the GPU is outputting to four total displays. Two are directly connected. Two are connected through the pair of 4K60 Pros.
Only one of the 4K60 Pros is properly passing through video to a monitor. So in total you're seeing video on three out of the four displays?
- Are all the monitors all the same model?
- If you swap the output of the 4K60 Pro to a different display does the same monitor have an issue, or does the same 4K60 Pro?
*Are you sending a high refresh rate like 120, 144, 240hz to these monitors?
*Did you configure any custom EDIDs for the 4K60 Pro cards inside of the 4K Capture Utility?
*Perhaps try going into 4K Capture Utility. Settings. Device tab. Then change the EDID mode to Display. This will force the cards to essentially behave like the display that is connected to it.

So to start form the top three of the four monitors work in surround , the center of the three monitors are captured by the one 4k60 pro, the 4th monitor is going from the gpu to the capture card to my gaming desk monitor across the room , I have tried moving them around but I am getting a out of range on my benq monitor that’s on my desk. I am sending 60hz to every monitor , I don’t know how to set up Edids nor did I download the capture utility , will that work with xsplit ? I contacted nvidia and they are telling me the 4th Monitors can’t be used as a primary display since the surround monitors are primary. I used the surround for sim racing then I wanted to use the 4th for pc games

You just need to open it up to make the change in the settings, then close it and it's done. Doesn't need to be running.
Nvidia's point about primary displays sounds plausible to me.

Well if it's showing up in the capture software, then the GPU is outputting things correctly. So it could be some behavioral issue with the card.
That's why I was thinking about switching the monitors connected to the 4K60 Pro. To see if the same monitor isn't showing up, or if the same 4K60 Pro is having problems.
Not saying it can't be the GPU, I just don't think the symptoms point to that yet.

When l shut the surround down and switch the primary monitor it worked
I was able to get a pass through on both cards
What’s weird is I had three capture cards connected at one point, one 4k60 worked the PS4 one worked with surround then I had a hd60s work with the 4th
I even went so far as keeping the surround intact , making the 4th monitor the primary and still have that out of range

Trying a setup without voicemeeter as it just seems to make shit more complicated. I can’t even hear the audio from my game on my gaming PC yet alone get it to OBS on the streaming PC. I’m trying to use the sound capture software and it just refuses to pick up any sound whatsoever.

@hollow eagle So the monitor your experiencing issues with, is one that's going from PC -> 4k 60hz card in another PC -> monitor.
Read the rest of it, it sounds like it might be a capture card issue. Try doing the exact same method, but switch the cards around through there PCIe ports. See if the issue then happens on the other one, or it remains the same on the one you're having issues with.

I have a problem with my Streamdeck XL, and cant find anything online. Any tips for me, either to solve it, or to seek help? The store I bought it from cant get a new one withing 2 weeks, and I kind of "need it" for streaming.
The problem is that the vertical second row from the left is dead, it lights up but does not register any input. When it was new it worked but had the issue from time to time, now it never works. I have used the Stream Deck for about two or three weeks.

It's internal notes from a higher up staff. Generally the agent you've been talking to will do all of the starting trouble shooting like things I did with you, then send it up to them. They review it. Give suggestions in a note. And then it sent back. This all happens with internal ticket notes.
Though I admit it looks like things are quiet from your perspective.

I do know when I had this setup last week , I had one pcie card attached to the center monitor here , the second pcie card attached to the PS4 with the out on that card going to the monitor im havjng a issue then a external capture card the hd60s going from my gaming pc into the card then out of the hard to a hdmi splitter which I could flip between the upper right monitor shown here and the monitor with the out of range and it all worked fine. I wonder maybe there’s some kind of conflict with the two pcie cards since they are both getting a feed from the same gpu

@hollow eagle yep 100% bandwidth issue, likely because you only have HDMI 1.4 ports with that 1060. The max range they can achieve is 4k 30fps reliably with those HDMI ports on the GTX 1060 (my 1070 only has 1.4 to). You did say you were trying to push 4k 60fps on it, didn't you? It's why when you use display port you don't experience any issues at all due to it being capable of doing 4k 60fps.
Although another thing you could try doing is updating the bios for your motherboard if you haven't already.
Update the Chipset drivers before you do tho.
After you update the Chipset drivers, then afterwards update the BIOS, I want you to go ahead and enable a option called "Above 4G Decoding" in the bios and see if the capture card works afterwards. If it still doesn't, then your definitely bandwidth limited by the HDMI 1.4 ports and would probably need to lower the resolution a bit.

@lavish heath So you're on a Mac right? I read you were trying to capture an iPad. If you're on version 2.9 or later of Game Capture, you can also directly connect the iPad to the Mac with a lightning cable and you can get to recording while the ticket is going on.

@still turret The GeForce GTX 10 series requirement in the box isnt just for performance. It's specifically required for HDR because that architecture supports encoding to 10bit HEVC which is needed for HDR recording.
Without that, the HD60 S+ is tonemapping from HDR to SDR automatically so that your RX480 can record it

@cunning latch they were awesome! I think I just got it figured out. I didnt duplicate my displays and was able to change the resolution and fps of the elgato to 60fps is this a valid way to stream? I always thought the main monitor had to be duplicated?

There are a few ways of making it happen. Passthrough, duplicate, or software solutions like using a software tool to capture the game but send a fullscreens prefiew to the card. But that has it's own share of downsides.

@warped pebble install the elgato software, it installs a driver that helps windows recognize the capture card. OBS should work fine afterwards.

I actually have that exact same issue with mine but it doesn't show up in any recordings, unplugging and plugging the HDMI back in usually helps fix it. Not sure why it happens or what is causing it (because it doesn't show up in recordings for me I don't think it's the capture card causing it)
If that doesn't help fix it for you, I'd probably RMA it if possible.

@cunning latch yeah two PC setup. Duplicating works fine, it's just that my fps drops from 230-240 constant to 140-230 ever since I've started using the capture card. That's why I'm wondering if maybe I didn't set it up properly or if this is normal that it affects gaming PC's performance this much
I had an hd60s two weeks back, and my only problem was I had to play on full screen to get 230-240 fps constant because the refresh rate was capped to 60, I though the 4k60 with the 1080p240 would solve the problem of capped refresh rate

@proper shuttle elgato capture cards are locked at 60hz much like a 1080p 60hz monitor would be.
You might be experiencing FPS drops due to how when using Elgato software to record, it does indeed use a bit of CPU resources of whatever pc it's plugged into while recording. Not a lot though.
It only starts using a lot when it tries to render the video into a mp4 after you're done recording.
Unless your using an entirely different pc to record and not the gaming pc (the capture card is hooked up to pc 2 while pc 1 is doing the gaming) then Idk where the fps drops could be coming from. Try making sure windows is updated, check task manager to see what is all running on the pc while gaming, etc.

For the 3.5mm audio input, it's set to use this in the Game Capture Software or the Properties settings of the Capture Card in OBS.
Depending on which driver/firmware you have set up, you would just choose "Analog Audio" instead of "HDMI Audio"

Hi - when I sign in to slobs via twitch, does twitch adjust the stream/video settings or something? As every time I sign in via twitch the video quality gets really bad. If I don’t sign in and just use a stream key, everything is great! Same if it’s YouTube, Facebook etc.
Basically I have to clear out the cache files and just use the stream key and then twitch works great!

Stream Deck Mobile comes through as its own separate 15 key layout in Stream Deck software. you can copy the profile over and yes, it will control your scenes and stuff the same.

Hi, I need some help here, my key lights (2), dissapears every now and then, my internet is on 2.4ghz, and same name on the internet, why does this happen?
It's really annoying, I have to reset them and reconnect them every single time.
Update: Today and yesterday, one of the lights disconnected and were unable to be controlled via my stream deck, and then it came back 30 minutes later for like 2 minutes then it disappeared again

@zenith totem Try updating the firmware on the lights. They might be on an older one. You can update the firmware from the Control Center software on your PC or Mac.
Go into Control Center and then click on Accessory Settings.
Should be a button inside to update it.

Go to the start menu, Type Display to go to Display Settings.
Then click Identify.
Numbers will pop up showing which monitors are which.
Either the 4K60 Pro is being sent a blank desktop, or it's cloned/Duplicated with a secondary monitor.

Noise could be two things. 1) 4:2:0. 2) without compression, details aren't smoothed like it would be with 150Mbps Interframe or even 400Mbps intra

I've been having an issue with my CamLink 4k. It's plugged into a dedicated USB3.0 PCIe card, but the camera still freezes in OBS. I've seen talks on the elgato & obs forums that a USB hub could help, but thought I would ask for official help. Any suggestions?
(if I deactivate & re-activate, it starts working immediately, if that info is important)

Having a problem with my CAMLink4k. GameCapture 4k when launched freezes the first second image is passed from the capture and will not recover.
OBS seems to work OK if launched without ever trying to launch GameCapture. Once GameCapture freezes ive not been able to reliably recover the video. Capturing Sony 5100 1080p at 59.x

my anti virus reported the "BarRaider Stream Counter" as a virus (which i dont think it is?). at the same time my PC crashed.
the counter button on my stream deck was broken.
the PC app says that the plugin is NOT installed. so i can't hit "uninstall", it just says "install".
when i try to install it through the Stream Deck App, the progress bar goes through, but then it shows the "install" button again. as if nothign happened.
when i try to install it through the *.streamDeckPlugin file, it says it is already installed.
(so i basically have to remove the existing broken plugin in order to reinstall it)
but i cant find a way to uninstall/remove the broken plugin.

It's really up to you, I love my desktop, but if you need the mobility then laptop is good as well.

Hi, so I am having an issue and am trying to find either a fix or a workaround. So I recently set up a dual PC configuration for streaming, recording, etc. Well my issue that I'm currently having is, my Canon 80D is hooked to the CamLink and has no latency at all when sending the video feed to my streaming pc. The HD60, however, has about a half a second of latency. Is there a way to set a buffer in OBS Studio for the CamLink so I can sync it to the video feed for the HD60? Is there any work around for this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

My main monitors on my gaming rig are 144hz which I have both hooked up via Displayport cables. My issue is when I mirror my display to the HD60, my 144hz monitor gets capped at 60hz as well as any games I try to play. Even after going into the Nvidia settings to see if my monitors are actually at 144hz (which they are), it still runs at 60hz. Do you think it could just be because it's a standard HDMI and not an HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 that my GPU is just assuming the bandwidth it should output to a standard HDMI should only be 60hz? Is there a fix to that or should I just buy an HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 cable to run from my GPU to the HD60?

i need help on game sound. My setup is OBS studios on stream pc, elgato hd60 on PS4, my problem is when i record i keep getting static distortion on louder game noises like bombs, gunfights, etc when i play Far Cry 5
The static is not present when Im playing the game, only when I go back and watch the recorded video

Oh for the delay, them multi-action is cancelled when the profile is switched. The multi-action just doesn't continue when the profile is switched.

I'm sorry to bother you guys, as i just got here and seem to immediately need help. I bought a single Key Light back in December and control it with my Stream Deck. Thing works fantastically and I use it daily. Love it so much I bought a second! Now comes the problem. The original power button in Stream Deck only controls the original light. If I remove it and try and add a new control it locks up the Stream Deck software. If I click the actual control in the Stream Deck software it locks up the software.
Here's another example of it locking up. I try and add a control to change the brightness. I click it to pick which light, and lock up.

@steep tinsel Control Center is a plugin, so try going to More Actions and uninstall it. Then delete your Key Light buttons which may still appear.
Then try closing the Stream Deck software fully by going to the system tray and right click on Stream Deck and go to Quit Stream Deck.
Re-open the Stream Deck app, then go back to More Actions to reinstall Control Center. Then try remaking the buttons
Is Stream Deck fully updated?

Okay, uninstalled the plugin, removed the buttons, fully closed the app. Then I reopened the app, readded the plugin, then the power button. Clicked "Title" and the program hardlocked.

It freezes if I do anything in the app. If I make a power button in the app to control the lights I can click it on the physical stream deck and the first light turns on and off. If I click the button in the app, freeze.
It really does NOT like that second light.

Sounds like it. But of course I it's unlikely to be directly hardware related.
One thing I might try is resetting both lights at the light itself. Holding down the switch in the II direction until it blinks 3 times. Then try pairing the new 2nd light first to see if it freezes, then re-pair the original first light.

If it still freezes with ONLY the new light, then there may be something very specific to that light and might be an RMA. I don't think it's that though.

It seems the physical button, while the Stream Deck app is working, turns on/off whichever light was connected first.
I'm guessing my problem is probably software based, somehow. I'll be reinstalling Windows on Sunday, so I'll probably cross my fingers and hope that'll fix it.

So i know I just joined but I was hoping I could get a little help...i'm new to my HD60 S capture card. I have tried all three USB 3.0 type A ports on my laptop...and even tried using a USB C to USB C with a USB 3.0 standard to my USB C port on my laptop...and Game Capture is saying that I need to connect my HD60 S to a USB 3.0 port when I already have...i've tried updating drivers and re installing a bunch of other stuff...anyone have any suggestions on how to go about finding a way to fix this?

No they're not blue. But the USB controller on my motherboard is a Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (Part No. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F&REV_31 ) and according to the manual for the device, the ports in question are USB 3.0.

It's fine that you don't know! And it's "common" for USB 3.0 ports to be coloured. It's a good way to check! But it's not the only way to. Sometimes digging deeper into your setup's components helps you understand the device better as well as how everything works @ruby gyro thanks for the suggestion though! It's one most people miss

Okay so...I've let my elgato sit overnight from my previous issue with nothing plugged into it, and shut my computer down. I boot everything up this morning and I'm still getting the "please connect to a USB 3.0 port for your HD60 S to work correctly" type thing. Any suggestions?

Find your motherboard manual and see which ports go to which controllers

@vocal wasp honestly dude, any suggestion helps! I've tried that...it's passing through HDMI in to HDMI out perfectly. It's the connection to to the computer that's the issue here

can you find your hd60 in your device manager? its under "sound, video and game controllers"
another thing you could check in device manager -> universal serial bus controllers -> usb root hub 3.0 -> properties -> power managment -> uncheck the box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device....etc"
