Not necessarily. To ensure 240hz support, go into 4KCU settings. Then Device tab. Then change the EDID mode to internal. Then Internal EDID to 1080p.

There will be some, but you're not intended to really play off the preview. Video and Audio will still be in-sync.
If you're streaming and have other audio inputs or overlays you could apply a small delay to them. Like 100-150ms.

It's a pretty rare glitch that comes up. But the driver reinstall + reboot has almost always solved it.
any time a driver is installed you should reboot Windows. It's not like a program where windows doesn't mind it too much but drivers are completely different/

@lost wadi There are a few solutions to this. Our usual suggestion would be to actually install Game Capture on your Gaming PC. This installed a small tool called Sound Capture.
If you set Sound Capture to 'PC Gaming' and choose the selections according to the app. You essentially choose the connection that the HD60 Pro is connected to. This is usually HDMI.
Then the other is where you'd normally listen to it. Headphones, Speakers, etc.

Yea that should work. Stream Deck Mobile essentially emulates a physical device. So you can have it with a profile switch button which switches the profile on the XL.
Now if you mean have access to the same buttons as the XL and use it seemlessly... not really. You'll need its own set of buttons.

Could be GPU driver related as that's used for the preview. Have you tried a full reinstall of 4K Capture Utility?

Hi there, still a bit confused how I control my Stream Deck XL using my phone. I looked on google play store and the only El Gato app was called control center. It didn't appear to have or offer functionality for the stream deck. I installed it and gave it permissions but it said no accessory attached. My stream deck XL is attached to my PC via USB, and my PC doesn't not have any wireless access.

Hi. Happy Friday. I just recently got an elgato HD 60 S. I plugged up everything and downloaded the software and whatnot but I am not getting any audio output from my elgato. It is connected through an HDMI to my monitor. None of my mixer volumes on streamlabs move. Not even game sound nor my microphone. I use a headset for my PS4 that is connected to my controller. When I move around on my ps4, the gameplay is there and I can hear the ps4 through my headset, but no game volume or anything on streamlabs. Wondering If i can get some help.
In other words, when I plug up everything, I can see the gameplay on streamlabs and hear the game through my headset connected to my ps4 controller, but streamlabs is not detecting any sound from anywhere.

Have you checked the appdata folder in the elgato folder specifically. It may have deleted it but maybe it's still in the folder.

The microphone audio from the headset goes straight through the Chat Link into the controller. It's not sent to be captured. That can only happen if the controller can loop your mic audio back out to your headset.
Then it's split like other audio and sent to be captured. Xbox One can do this via Microphone monitoring. There is a section in that Chat Link article on how that works.
@cobalt depot I don't have any experience with Voicemod or troubleshooting it. I think emailing us is what I'd do especially since the plugin still seems to be doing something. Not sure if that's VoiceMod itself.

I have Stadia that I play on my LG B9 OLED TV. IF I run a HDMI splitter with HDCP bypass, can I connect my Elgato Capture Card (HD60S+) to the splitter on one end, then the chromecast on the other end.... I bought HD60 Pro card, inserted it into PCI-e, turned off HDCP on PS4, installed Game Capture, additional drivers and it's not working - "no capture device found". Tried to switch card to that bigger slot but without success. Also tried to swap HDMI cables but nothing change. Anyone had similar issue and found solution?

P hello! I was looking for some advice in terms of what my best options for audio capture would be for my scenario. I am currently building a streaming PC that is running with three capture cards. One from my computer, one for my boyfriend's computer, and one from our console for additional games. We are setting up a duo stream. Looking for advice on audio for this situation. Would it work to capture our audio using the elgato capture cards. Or should we consider using a different audio source that we hook up to the streaming PC itself. Not sure if I explained the scenario well enough. My concern is being able to capture our voice as well as game audio from both computers at the same time. But we also need to be able to communicate to other people potentially in a discord call.

@wise rover as it stands the StreamDeck integration for GoXLR has not launched. I believe they've said 2 weeks ETA for open beta. But don't quote me on that. This is handled separately from Elgato as they're just using Elgato's SDK, so this is all TC Helicon working on this, so in future you'd want to reach out to them for this.

Hey everyone. I just installed my 4k60 Pro Mk.2. for my 2 PC streaming set up. For some reason my Radeon 5700xt is not seeing it as a display. Before the 4k60, i have the HD60 Pro and it worked just fine. After the 4k60 not being recognized, i decided to reinstall my HD60... and now my GPU wont recognize it. Before they stopped working they were also trying to run as if my display were something like 3660 x1440 or something strange like that.

This is what I see on my main monitor. A stretched screen and the resolution set to 6400x1440. It isn't detecting a second display. It is instead just using this as one giant display.
Then this is what I see in OBS.
And when I change the resolution to 2560 x 1440p, nothing shows on the 4k60 and I still can't detect it as another display

Been in contact with Elgato support for a couple of weeks but still haven't found a solution. so hoping someone here might have an idea - When I use analog audio to record party chat from my PS4 to my Imac, the audio channels become reversed. HDMI works with no issues, but something is causing the analog channels to swap. Anyone have any ideas what might causing this and how to fix it?

@upbeat moat Given you have one giant resolution, I think you need to turn off Eyefinity. That's what combines all your monitors into one.
Or setup the 4K60 Pro MK2 without the passthrough display. Just as a 4th connection to the GPU.

@cunning latch I checked and Eyefinity was not on. I have literally checked every configuration I can. The card works with my Switch. The card works if I install it in my gaming rig and run from my streaming rig (basically switching their roles). My GPU HDMI port works when I connect it to my monitor. The issue is connecting my GPU to my Capture card. That is the only time it doesn't work. It is, sadly, very frustrating. 😦

With a display connected to the output of the 4K60 Pro, your system sees the monitor, and the 4K60 Pro is just in the middle capturing whatever is sent to it.

Hey, I have a question about dual-PC streaming setups. So I have two PCs: A desktop for gaming, and a laptop for streaming. I capture HDMI output from the desktop with an Elgato HD60S, which is connected to the laptop. I also have a USB headset + microphone that I use for commentary. Is there a way to output audio to both my headset and the elgato, so that I can hear audio from the desktop instead of the laptop? Additionally, is there a way to capture my microphone with the elgato as well?

are you using OBS? i would have my headset plugged into the laptop and microphone to the laptop as well. and have the audio from the PC going into the HD60S via HDMI (desktop audio on the PC)
then on OBS control all audio thru the mixer

^ or the more complicated way is using VoiceMeeter and VBAN (which is like ndi for audio)
The benefit of VoiceMeeter and VBAN is you could still have your USB headset/mic plugged into your laptop/stream for a stream mic, but also send the mic the other direction to your desktop/gaming PC for a game mic (just utilize a push to talk in game, or they'll hear you talking to your stream)

@pliant warren 240hz at 1080p is literally the bandwidth limit of HDMI 2.0. So passthrough is 100% not possible just on a technical level. Doing a clone may possibly work. Just like how 120 or 240hz monitors with 60hz cards work.

That shouldn't really be a problem for HDMI or the other ports. That's a pretty common tight fit on cases.

@wise rover a little late to the party at this point, but your conflict issues are caused by OBS keeping a video device open even when not selected unless you have the checkbox checked of 'close video device when not active' or something of that sort

I experience a slight boost in my sensitivity when my main PC is connected to my secondary PC (4K60). Is this placebo or does the capture card actually mess with something, because my PC thinks it's a third monitor and slightly makes my mouse faster to help move around the extra screen real estate?

Gaming PC has dual monitors that run 1080p 144hz. The only game that I stream is World of Warcraft. When I am playing World of Warcraft in DirectX12, the game caps at 48FPS. When I play in DirectX11, framerate is uncapped. Is this a World of Warcraft issue, a DirectX12 issue or a 4k60 Pro MK2 issue? It's more so just checking it's a config problem. Streamlabs and OBS could hide the problem behind many settings.
I'd also check to see if any audio comes through on the TV. This would confirm if audio is actually getting to the capture card.
Head into your Xbox One Settings, General, Volume & Audio Output. And make sure HDMI Audio is set to Stereo Uncompressed.

@south bronze Well the Stream Port is really handy, because it's like a second output. You can make a unique audio mix to send over that port to be captured by your PC. You can configure the audio mix sent to that port using the Astro Command Center software.
I think this is your best bet for the setup. You could configure that port to only include your voice. Then use a 3.5mm aux cable to connect your Mixamp to your computer's Line In port. This is usually blue colored. Then inside of Streamlabs OBS, go into settings, audio, and add the Line In port as another audio input for your stream. You can the adjust all the levels in Streamlabs.

ive been running a 2PC setup for streaming, everything has worked fine the signal is going through, but there is one problem i havent seen happen to anyone else, so im using an Elgato HD60 and on OBS the video quality is 480P 30FPS even though i went into the configuration on the device settings and set it to 1080P 60FPS, i also tried custom resolution, meanwhile, if i use the Elgato software, its an amazing 1080P 60FPS. Im not sure what is causing this if anyone could help, i provided pictures of the recording on OBS then on Elgatos, although i dont know if it will be easy to notice the difference with discords picture compensation

I have an issue with Game Capture on Mac. I cannot seem to update the software becuase EVERYTIME I open the software, it asks me if I want to move it to the Applications folder. I move it to the Applications folder but when I open it again it does it again, asking me if I want to move it to the Applications folder. With it NOT being in the aApplications folder, I am unable to update the software. I was having some issues with the encoding and wanted to make sure my version was up to date. AND a new problem. Capturing Forza Horizon 4 from my xbox one X in certain parts of the game it starts lagging on the recording/software side. Sorry, I'm a noob to all of this...A question: I used to have sound effects that I activated with my stream deck that my viewers on twitch could hear because I had all my sounds coming from my PC into stream on one channel in OBS. Now I am trying to control each audio source on its own channel in the mixer. So I guess my question is, how do I create a channel just for sound effects? maybe someone can help me, i have few general problems with streamdeck:
- Sometimes the keys won't work, and it shows the yellow exclamation mark. It does this with SLOBS and keys are meant to trigger a scene. But when I open the StreamDeck app, and click on the button within app, and then try again on streamdeck, that key starts working. it seems it doesn't matter if i run the programs in admin mode or not. Am I missing something here?
- I cant get Twitch 'Create Clip' or 'Create Stream Marker' to working. It just says 'Only works when you're live', even though I'm live.

hey everyone, so i started streaming today after ive been testing all week, and it was all fine for about 20 mins. now i get this loud background noise, Ive muted my mic, unplugged everything and plugged back in thinking it was a loose connection. reset laptop and playstation. I muted the elagto and the sound completely stopped, obviously this is not a fix as i now get no game sound. can someone help? does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi, I am trying to record footage in Destiny 2 on PC with an Elgato HD card and am running into several issues. My performance tanks in any setting other than fullscreen, so recording in fullscreen is a must for my own sanity and for video quality. However, switching to fullscreen just display Not Supported on my monitor when tabbed into Destiny 2. I've tried googling and consulting some in the Destiny community to no avail. I get recommended OBS, which explicitly isn't supported in Fullscreen mode. I've been trying to figure this out on and off for a week now, and am just getting really demotivated for making videos. I am on a single monitor, single PC set up.

Basically I have a camlink yet it doesn't seem to be working, I connect it to my computer (I have mac and PC) and although Game Capture HD does detect it, the 'live gameview' section is completely blank, and the same is the case with OBS. @smoky panther Are you using the 4K60 Pro in Passthrough with a monitor connected to the HDMI output?
If so, the system will only see the monitor, not the Elgato device. So you'd select the monitor.
@grave ledge This is using a Cam Link? Cam Link sends uncompressed video into the system, so any quality drop wouldn't be from the Cam Link. Probably directly from the camera.
If the camera has manual controls, make the Fstop as wide as you can, shutter speed slow, and drop ISO as much as you can.

@cunning latch no, my gaming pc is connected to the input through an hdmi, it just stopped showing the cap card in the sounds out of nowhere, i had to switch hdmi ports on the gaming pc for it to finally show up

@clear bane if the desync remains consistent then you could add an audio offset in OBS. If the audio is behind the video you can add a negative offset to the audio

I'm not seeming to get 60fps out of my cam link. I've found that I'm getting what looks like 60fps from my a6400 in the 4k capture utility (doesn't look smooth - looks more like 40-50 with dropped frames), but OBS is definitely looks 30fps even though it tells me 59.94

I think you have to have the stream deck application open on your computer.
In the try on the right side, you should be able to right click the icon for the app.
You'll see a pop up and there should be an option to "Hide Sidebar"
Something along those lines. I'm not on my personal PC so I don't remember 100% if it's not there try doing the same for the iCue app.

And then go set the hdmi output to 1080p60
Change the shutter speed to 125
Should be good to go after that

Borderless Fullscreen has that problem where your main monitor says it's running at 144hz, but Windows is updating the entire desktop composite at the lowest refresh of 60.
This was a reason I never suggested it. Try forcing 144hz in your Windows Display settings or... you can use OBS to capture the game, and send a feed to the card. Instead of a clone/duplicate, set up the HD60 S as an extended desktop.
Have OBS Studio run, have it capture the game. Then right click on the Game Source layer and go to Source Projector (Preview) and pick that monitor.
Minimize OBS. It will now send a fullscreen preview of the game to the HD60 S to be captured. with no tearing or FPS/hz issues
There is some overhead, but it's not too bad.

Then try reinstalling the 4K60 Pro MK2 driver: https://gc-updates.elgato.com/windows/drivers/4k60-pro-mk2/download.php and then rebooting.
Also go into Device Manager, then Sound, Video, and Game Controllers and see if the card shows up there.

@exotic tiger Thanks for the advice on the a6400. I had it set to 1080p60 on both hdmi output and in the camera itself. Just tried setting the shutter speed and it didn't help. I'm getting about 40fps with frame stutter when previewing the cam link in the 4k capture utility program, and about 20-30fps in OBS, despite the device registering a 1080p 59.94fps input. There's also about a second of delay between what the camera sends and what the cam link shows. Not sure if I got a dodgy unit or if anyone else has had this problem?
I could probably deal with the framerate being 30 even though it looks a bit off for live content, but the frame stutter and delay I get is just a massive pain.

everytime i open the Streamdeck app, it always ask me to sign in into Mixer, once i do it, it stays on the Allow window, as in, i click allow and it does nothing after that, is it a problem with the deck or Mixer? i deleted my Mixer account from the deck and re-linked and it works, but then after a while it asks me to sign in again and

Yesterday afternoon my 2019 MacBook Pro updated to 10.15.3. Since then it recognizes that my Camlink and my Game Capture HD 60 S are plugged in. But it is putting them in USB 2.0 instead of 3.1. So when I try to connect to OBS and stream, I get the “USB 3 is required” message.

I plugged in my stream deck mini and installed the software, but no matter what I do the elgato logo won't change off the deck's screen and no matter what I map the buttons to do, all that happens is the screen turns off then back on again. Help please :(

Hi There! I'v noticed I'm having an issue with my cam link. Since I updated windows and OBS It keeps freezing. I'v switch ports and also solo linked into straight motherborad ports as well. I'v tried other cams like the c920 and the brio with no issue but the cam link won't operate as normal. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. I'v been googling all day to no avail. I like the cam-link/gopro look better hence my not switching to a different cam.

I got it working. You have to use the NDI feature instead of just selecting a video capture device.

HD 60 (not S) is only showing as "game capture hd" in OBS and there is no audio. My other Elgato has the "game capture hd" option, but I have it set as "game capture hd60pro" (or similar) and the audio works fine.

HD and HD60 are only usable via "Elgato Game Capture HD" device in OBS/SLOBS. All other cards will have the option of directly being used like you noticed with the pro.
For the HD60, try going to Configure Video and then making sure that the audio is on the right selection.

That would mean audio is working and coming through HDMI and may just be a configuration problem.
HDCP generally would stop video, or anything from coming through.

I have a 4k60 Pro which I have been using for some time now with non 4k monitors. I just got a new monitor (ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27" 2560x1440 IPS 165Hz) and now I cannot see my console on the monitor. I can still see it on the 4k utility screen but not on the monitor itself, it says there is no hdmi connection just black screen.
have spent the last couple of hours trying to see if we can figure out a fix and no luck so far.

I game at 1080p 144hz.

hi there i am trying to use my hd60 pro cap card to use between my two computers. ive plugged the gaming pc hdmi into the in slot of the hd60 pro and have plugged the gaming monitor into the out slot for the hd60 pro. when i go to use the software it says it doesnt recognize any input but the weird thing is that the gaming pc monitor is actually showing the intended screen. also when i use it for nintendo switch, same setup as before with switch going into the in port it says it does not have an input on the software and also the switches screen is actually playing on the intended monitor as well.. just doesnt get picked up by the software

I have a button that is supposed to say something in twitch chat, and it works only sometimes. It worked all day and then just recently(like 10 minutes ago) it gave me a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. It only started working again if I focus on the stream deck application

@plush roost It should work within OBS. It won't work within Game Capture, but the elgato software that works with the 4K60 is the 4K Capture Utility.
Try downloading and running the 4K Capture Utility first, then if it works in there, quit out of that and try it within OBS
you can also turn on the NDI settings within the 4KCU to stream NDI to OBS
I unfortunately don't own any of the 4K capture cards, so I don't know if there's a certain driver you need installed
but I do use the 4KCU with my HD60 Pro and use the NDI/Stream Link into OBS

so inputting the resolution under Custom and adding in the resolution might work

hi there i am trying to use my hd60 pro cap card to use between my two computers. ive plugged the gaming pc hdmi into the in slot of the hd60 pro and have plugged the gaming monitor into the out slot for the hd60 pro. when i go to use the software it says it doesnt recognize any input but the weird thing is that the gaming pc monitor is actually showing the intended screen. also when i use it for nintendo switch, same setup as before with switch going into the in port it says it does not have an input on the software and also the switches screen is actually playing on the intended monitor as well.. just doesnt get picked up by the software

I used the Ndi link and downloaded the software. Still the same Green screen. Custom resolution did not change it. I removed my earlier posts as I felt Its just better to forget the problem and were received with frustration.

if i feed my elgato 4k60 mk2 a 10bit 4:2:2 4k60 stream and set a custom res of 3840x2160 the window it puts into OBS is 1920x1080

im also confused regarding gamma bit depth, it says its 8bit but im pretty positive my gh5 is outputting 10bit
i can set wether im sending 0-255, 16-255 or 16-235
when its in 10bit mode the luminence level is 0-1023 but it still says limited 16~235

So i plugged in everything into my elgato and it will show on my second monitor but won’t show anything on the elgato app or screen. Everything is picking up just fine (even my camera works fine) but for some reason it’s black for my game capture. Every now and then it will flash on and work but only for about 3 seconds and go back to black. Any fixes please??

@stable cedar if you uninstall the program, it should remove most the software, to delete the settings if it doesn't do it by itself they will be in your AppData/Roaming folder which is a hidden one. You can get to it by typing %appdata% into the file directory address bar.

I am on a 2 PC Now, and I have installed a HD60 Pro on my Streaming PC, now when I clone my Gaming Monitor with my Streaming PC Monitor, my FPS in games are now limited to 60 FPS, when I have a 144 MHz Monitor, is this supposed to do this ???

im pretty sure the hd60pro doesnt support 144hz passthrough
but provided you have another port free you can probably clone the video source

@exotic tiger I play fortnite on Nintendo switch. I hooked it up to the elgato hd60 S and and it has a second delay in response to my switch controls. I hooked it up only to my MacOS. Is there any way I can fix this?

all usb controllers are pretty poor and easy to overload

when i selected 4k from my panasonic gh5 outputting 4k
linked up in the elgato fine, but the video capture source in OBS was a 1080p window
inspecting it with edit transform says its 1080p
i dont have a monitor attached to it since its a camera
maybe something EDID related is going on?

the other issue is the bit depth
my camera does 10bit 422
with the luminence level of vlogl profile being 0-1023
the elgato always says its 16-235
ive been setting it to bypass and obs to full and that seems to be right
footage matches very closely to clips recorded to sdcard
theres a little more noise on the HDMI, but not much
i know the 4k60 is tone mapping, and maybe i should just ignore the part where the elgato says its 16-235
but it seems like this would be something nice to have correct yeah?
oh and if i switch the hdmi output to 420 8bit, where the lum level shows 0-255, it still says 16-235

Just leave it on Internal.

You don't need a monitor connected. I don't know why your card is downscaling it to 1080p. If you had 4KCU open and the recording options were set to 1080p, I do think this affects other apps open at the same time trying to access it though.

has anyone had issues connecting two Key Lights? I have one connected perfectly fine and works even after a pc restart or wake up. The other one though will not stay connected. It connects just fine, then it will go off and on like it wants to connect but doesnt actually. I have no idea what would be causing that. I have wifi on my pc as well. Any fixes to this?

Hello! I'm having an issue with audio and I'm not sure if it's because I'm doing something wrong or if something is wrong with my elgato.
I'm using the HD60 Pro for a dual PC setup. I have the HDMI going from Gaming PC -> Elgato IN port in the streaming PC. Video loads fine, but I have no audio. I've followed a few guides and from my undertstanding, the Elgato should show as an audio device in windows on the streaming PC? But it isn't?

Actually dug a little more and what's happening is that my computer can't output audio to the elgato and my typical audio at the same time (usb device). If I set my gaming PC's default device to the Elgato, that seems to work, but then I don't have audio on my headset

@errant light use VoiceMeeter and you can send your audio output to two (really 5) different devices, all at once

I was just testing that, but there's definitely some lag in the audio, which would be problematic for gaming.
Ah wait, you mean send it over to the stream from my gaming PC.
I was originally just using voicemeeter to send the twitch alerts from the stream PC to the gaming PC so I could hear them.
