Depends on how the audio is coming into the scene. Audio Device or via a layer?

Again, depends on how the audio is being brought into your scene. If you're using Audio Monitoring, then it should be muted based on if the source is visible or not.

But if you're using WaveOut/DirectSound method then they route through Desktop Audio

Ok, then that's why. Streamlabs OBS instead of sending the audio from the card into your scene is sending it to your computer's default output (Speakers, headphones, etc)

So the audio is handled like any music or other audio you play on your computer

Another option is to set the mode from Directshow to Capture Audio Only. Then go into the Audio Mixer and set the capture card layer to Monitor(Mute Output). It functions the same as before, except if you mute the layer you should also stop hearing it.

Also one more thing: I doubt it's available, but is there a Freeze/pause function (like if you push the button, it stops the recording and makes it a still image, then a second press resumes recording?

Oh maybe I misunderstood you. OBS Studio does have a pause function where it stops writing to the file and the you can resume. Helpful if you know you're going to be capturing lots of not important video. But it's not a freeze frame. Also looks like SLOBS doesn't support pausing recordings yet.

Right click on the layer and go to Filters. Then you'll probably want to try color correction

But I don't believe there is support for toggling filters. So you may need to go with the different scene for all these changes.

now that you guys were talking about recording, is it possible to set flashback recording to similar as for example on ps4? if i capture a 10min clip and after that a 5minute another clip, it would only capture the 5min instead a new 10min which now overlaps the first recording?

Game Capture HD supports different times for a hotkey to write that clip to disk. But 4K Capture Utility currently uses the normal timeline method of scrolling back in time to capture.

@low crescent @cunning latch We have a secret preference to reduce the delay between actions in the Multi Action. Please note that this is an experimental feature. You can play with it in Stream Deck 4.4 and would definitively like to get feedback.

On macOS you can set the delay between MultiActions to 20ms by executing in the Terminal this line:
defaults write com.elgato.StreamDeck MultiActionDefaultMSDelayBetweenActions -int 20

On Windows, you can achieve the same by adding a DWORD MultiActionDefaultMSDelayBetweenActions with a number value greater than zero in the registry @ HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Elgato Systems GmbH\StreamDeck

I have problems with my camlink 4k. It was working just fine two days ago. Yesterday iv launch obs and there where no black square. which always was there before launching my camera. Tryed everything to unplug and plug again. every usb port that i have is 3.0 iv tried to delete from obs scenes camlink. and add again. it worked BUT WITH FPS Like 15 maximum. Everything was laggy. And when i restarted obs again it dissapear. HELP. Cant stream.

hi there, not sure if this is the correct place to ask but i have a elgato hd60 s, and i have a weird setup where im trying to game on my laptop and stream to my pc (personal reason / experiment). I thought by connecting my hdmi cable to the elgato hd60 s and then connecting the elgato hd60s to my pc using the usb 3.0 would be sufficient but i dont get a display on the obs on my PC. do i have to include the hdmi output from the elgato hd60s to my PC as well somehow or am i doing something wrong? also sorry for cutting in LORD Kaltani

I'm using the latest Elgato software. My problem is when I record my game on my xbox, the game audio is not recorded but the image is. So essentially the video is silent. My set up is i'm using the pc to talk to my friends either though skype, Discord or Xbox App so I CAN record their voice and mine so we are all good in that department. @cunning latch

@winged bobcat That shouldn't be needed. If you're using OBS, Game Capture doesn't need to be installed at all typically. The issue of no signal inside of OBS with a two PC setup would come down to configuring your displays to clone/duplicate.

I’m trying to use the Elgato Cam Link and Elgato Pro Dock to connect my Panasonic LUMIX GH4 DSLR to a MAC and using it as a WebCam/Video input for video conference calls (zoom/Skype) and live streaming.

It recognizes the cam link but there’s nothing coming from the camera and it says it’s outputting to TV mode. Any ideas?

I have a 2PC stream set up. The stream PC had a HD60Pro and i just got a camlink for it to use my nicer camera. When i try to use the Camlink at the same time as the HD60Pro i get terrible quality on the stream from the HD60Pro and if i try other USB ports for the camera, i get the camera display freezing. Any Idea how to fix the quality issue?

Hi, I set my Elgato to capture a game on my iPad but the colors are completely different and I can't set them well, I lost hours in the "image" settings in Game Capture HD app on my MacOS. The ipad is the 2018 model, 12.9 inches, while the mac is an imac 2019 top of the line..can anyone help me? I don't know how to get the "normal" game colors.. I use obs as streaming software. however, already from the application, we see that the game has a different color. thanks

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but it is a little technical. Can Stream Deck's Twitch message command read text from a text file? I'm trying to set up a shoutout button that writes "!so {Raider_name}" into my Twitch chat. I have a script that writes the most recent raiders name to a text file, so if I can get the command to read from that file it would make shoutouts for raiders pushing one button.

@lofty lark Currently that is not available for Twitch chat, however you can have OBS read a text file as a source and show and hide using Stream Deck. If you want Stream Deck to read text files to chat, I'd recommend submitting that in our #feature-request 🙂

oh hi, I have recently acquired an Elgato Stream Deck and am attempting to control OBS.Live. I installed the StreamElements OBS.Live action list in Stream Deck and have checked for the latest OBS.Live and checked the Elgato Remote Plugin under tools but I am getting an error in the Elgato Stream Deck software saying to "Please start StreamElements OBS.Live to use this action." The Stream Deck Actions for OBS work fine. Ideas?

I have an elgato HD60S and for some reason if I leave everything plugged in and try to stream right away my audio gets all staticky. So to fix this.. I have to stop the stream unplug everything. Plug everything back in. Open OBS first and then turn on the XBOX.

@inner flare I have the GH5, so I'm not sure if it's the same on the GH4, but there is a specific HDMI Output menu where you can control the output resolution and fps. What resolution and fps is the camera set to?

combined with multiactions you should be able to make one button move a bunch of windows around after opening them.

I think I might know why is because I have 2 Youtube accounts with an email one is a "brand account" and one is a "personal account" because when you make a brand account it makes 2 and I think that they dont support brand accounts which would suck because thats the main reason why I got the stream deck.

Hi I'm new and just got a stream hd60. I just want to capture gameplay somehow. If I can't do that then stream it somehow. The website I can't find anything about it on there and YouTube isn't much help either. That or I just looked in the wrong places. Just a point in the right direction would help please.

I think the only issue you might have is that even if it worked it wouldn't be a supported CPU support wise. I would say your best bet is to give them a call when support starts in 4 hours or so and ask them.

Ah no, that was due to a PEBCAK. I authorised with my brand account (and not my account that wasn't authorised for streaming) and it worked fine

Alright one last reach before I return this. I know the 4k60 mk2 isn't compatible with AMD cards, but is there any indication of support of it in the future? Trying to go 1440p with signal and it gets wonky, so I went with the bypass method, send signal into card, then out to monitor, but I'm only getting a 60hz option in some games and not 144hz.

Any other suggestions are helpful. Otherwise I'm marking my 2-PC stream setup with Elgato 0 and 2 for attempts.

@open lintel if I rememebr rightly the 4k60 mk2 uses NVENC technology (which won't work on AMD GPUs) and therefore it isn't possible to do it with an AMD card. I believe that's why they only list NVIDIA cards on the site

Scenario 1: Gaming PC duplicate display setup

Results -
27 in 1440p 144hz monitor runs at 1440. 4k60 card only detects 1080p60, game (COD:MW) only sees 1920x1080 resolution. Changing EDID in 4K software didn't do anything. At the same time, would randomly force incoming video to a 5x5 array the signal.

Scenario 2: Gaming PC extended display. Display 1 is 27-inch mon. Display 2 4k60 mk2.

Results -
Can configure each to 1440p, but 4K software will only if you change EDID to 1440p. However, this forces monitor resolution to look distorted and blurry, with a possible different resolution forced to it. Also, changes in 4K software pushes to 5x5 array if you attempt to switch back between resolutions.

Scenario 3
Run Gaming PC to 4k60 mk2 card, bypass then to monitor.

Results -
Can configure 4K software to read source as 1440p. Pushes bypass as the same. Game (COD:MW) sees 1440p, but monitor Hz is only 60 and not 144.

from my understanding you need at least 2.0 for 144hz 1440p. I would say test each cable separate to make sure they all work at that. As the weakest link will lower everything.

@limber jewel Sounds like the software isn't recognizing the device right now. Try another USB port if possible or reinstalling the software.

The device will show a logo when it's powered but isn't talking to software.

Well the framerate isn't limited by the monitor or capture card, but can be limited if you're using Vsync which would be locked to the refresh rate

I'm not personally as familiar with the options on console. But I remember Fortnite having its own chat output options. Can fire it up to see though. You may just need to make sure it's sending chat to the TV to be captured.

Are you using a Chat Link or just connecting the console with an HDMI cable?

And when going through the Chat Link, that's when you hear nothing. Just to confirm, you're connecting the longer connector into your Game Capture device, correct? Using only the shorter ends for the Headset and Controller.

I'm observing a weird issue on my mac (Catalina) where the property inspector in the streamdeck software is not showing so I can't set anything other than the name of the action. I removed it entirely then did a clean install but it still doesn't appear. Works fine on my other mac so I'm not sure if there is an incompatibility with something else... I know it loads HTML somewhere so maybe the port is already in use but I don't know which one so I'm not sure of to start approaching the problem

hi there.
i SOMETIMES have a problem with my Elgato HD60S.
like i dont have any sound on the HDMI Passthrough.
sound is avilable for the Capture on my PC, so my viewers can hear stuff, but the sound doesnt go through to my TV.
and if it happens, it doesnt matter if the input is captured on PC or not.
unplugging and replugging doesnt help.
next time (like next day) i try playing/streaming, it works.

any ideas how to fix that?

not sure about that UHD 620 chip.
but the "intel HD Graphics" a few years ago already struggled during 1080p Video playback in a media player (is what a buddy told me)
if possible, you should try to use your CPU for encoding. i at least know that OBS/SLOBS can do that. not sure for elgato game capture software though

yea, x264 encoder. that's good.
i was about to post my own settings, but other than the bitrate it should be mostly the same.
in the advanced settings you can set the CPU usage level for more fine adjustment

so the RECORDING ecoder (bottom half) should be set to Software (x264) as well.

without further information, that can be many reasons.
with 21% CPU usage it is unlikely a problem with resources or temperature, but you never know.
other possible things might be Ram or virtual memory.
or many other things i can't think of.
also, i am not a windows 10 expert. and as i said, never had that. especially not for recording or streaming

but if your cooler is cluttered with dust, it MIGHT overheat even at 21% load

Hi guys I need some help. I had my HD60 working awesome on my last PC never had an issue with it. Recently upgraded to a better PC but I keep seeing this on the capture screen? And definitely try other USB ports on the system, front and back. If the newer computer is much faster then it's possible there is some problem with the USB controller behavior.

Worked it out @cunning latch I tried all the USB ports like you mentioned one by one and in doing so I took out the bluetooth dongle for my xbox elite controller to try that one and the picture instantly cleared up! Can confirm the BT dongle was the issue, have tried it in a few other ports. Thanks heaps for your help 🙂

sorry for sayinng the discord sucks, i was frustated over working on this card for 2 days that i still cant get to work right.. both PCS are more than capable of handling the set up, but when my game capture goes to the stream pc, its lags within obs, causing my stream and recordings to lag, it does this whether the preview is off or not, im sure i have a setting wrong somewhere and would love some assistance.. thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I'm asking for a buddy because he has an older machine. He's using an i7-3770K with 16GB of RAM and a GTX 770 that's only being used to stream Xbox One. It's worked fine with the old Elgato HD, but with the delay it's a pain for him to constantly adjust delays to sync the input with different scenes.

I recommended the HD 60S+ and the new 4K Pro MKII but I know the HD 60S+ recommends a 4000 series Intel, and the 4k version suggests 6000 series Intel or newer. If he's using the card more for 4k passthrough, but still only streaming 720p60 or 1080p30 and using NVENC, would that be an issue on either card? I'd like him to be able to keep the same card for when I upgrade his machine next year and didn't want him wasting money on a cheaper capture card.

I have a question, and I've been using the elgato Game Capture HD software and it's worked almost flawlessly, but would using OBS instead stop some of the slowdowns and hitches that I'm noticing on Game Capture HD? It's very minimal and I'm still happy with the product, but not sure if those hitches should be there because I've seen a couple streamers play their games flawlessly as well.

Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, I can screenshot settings as well.

@south bronze Looks like Overscan. I forget your issue, but guessing you're capturing a PC? The PC may be assuming the capture card is an HDMI TV and is scaling up the image automatically.

In your GPU control panel you should find a TV/Monitor display scaling menu.

@rustic nymph The installer I believe is currently the method for repairing. But you should be fine to close those two applications listed and hit retry and it will go through and look for missing files or corrupted data.

Advanced just has some more intricate changes for some special setups, but switching to it may have changed your output devices or toggled off the audio being sent to certain outputs.

There appears to be some temporary issue tonight with streaming to Twitch through Game Capture HD. You may see a 404 error. But you can still stream using RTMP.

Inside of Game Capture HD, go to your Live Streaming module on the right. Click on the + icon to add a new account. Choose "RTMP://".

You'll have a new window with three options. The name you wish to call this Streaming Account, the Stream URL/Ingest, and Stream Key. Name can be anything you want.

Hi everyone! I'm asking for a buddy because he has an older machine. He's using an i7-3770K with 16GB of RAM and a GTX 770 that's only being used to stream Xbox One. It's worked fine with the old Elgato HD, but with the delay it's a pain for him to constantly adjust delays to sync the input with different scenes.

I recommended the HD 60S+ and the new 4K Pro MKII but I know the HD 60S+ recommends a 4000 series Intel, and the 4k version suggests 6000 series Intel or newer. If he's using the card more for 4k passthrough, but still only streaming 720p60 or 1080p30 and using NVENC, would that be an issue on either card? I'd like him to be able to keep the same card for when I upgrade his machine next year and didn't want him wasting money on a cheaper capture card.

But keep in mind that if you reach out for support, our agents may just say "it's unsupported" . Since the specs don't need the requirements. But definitely leverage NVENC as much as possible.

With the source running at 4K HDR, the card is taking 4K scaling to 1080p, and tonemapping from HDR to SDR. So in the end the video coming from the card is no more than 1080p60 in normal SDR. So similar performance impact of an HD60 S.

If he upgrades, definitely CPU/Platform. Early USB 3.0 is just so dodgy.

Only other card which supports HDR is the original 4K60 Pro, but it was all software tonemapping which makes HDR playing and SDR streaming trickier.

Yep, those two models together should be okay. There were some issues and you had to use a separate driver for some models a few years ago.

So I am having a problem. I just moved and setup my whole computer station and I decided to use 3 of the same monitors on my gaming pc and a previous monitor for my stream pc. I used to have 2 and one hooked up to my stream pc. The issue I have now is when ever I connect the HDMI cable from my capture card to my gaming pc graphics card one of my monitors shuts off and when I try to mess with the settings to change it in display settings and NVIDIA control panel my pc freezes for a few minutes. Disconnect the HDMI cable and all 3 monitors work the way I want them too. Any ideas?

Hello everyone! Is anyone online to help a noob with a setup issue? I believe I have everything plugged in correctly but after an hour of troubleshooting I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I'll start by saying I have an HD60s. I HDMI'd my Nintendo Switch into the HDMI IN, and connected the HDMI OUT to my TV (We'll call this "Monitor A"). I connected the USB that came with it into my computer's USB 3.1 port (I've tried all the other ports as well to be sure 3.1 wasn't broken). The Elgato device flashed white, white, red. I opened my Game Capture HD software (on my 2nd monitor which we will call "Monitor B" Monitor B is set to duplicate Monitor A so I can see what Monitor A would show despite having changed its input over to my game console) and in the top right it states "No Capture Devices Found". I tried a variety of troubleshooting steps such as resetting the PC, resetting the elgato, changing out wires and ports, I even went into device manager and unticked all of the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" boxes on my USB 3.0... I wondered how I was receiving video and audio of the console through Monitor A if on Monitor B I can see that the elgato isn't working properly according to my pc's device manager. In the Device Manager it states "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
For the life of me I could not find a driver for the elgato. I downloaded every video capture software I found on the elgato website and installed it all. Nothing works. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

Well for internal EDID, just set the EDID mode to internal. and set the EDID mode to 1080p or 1440p depending on the monitor.

1080p will allow for up to 240hz, but will make sure the GPU sends nothing more than 1080p. 1440p up to 144h.

The EDID is essentially the identification of a monitor, it tells the device what sort of signals it can support. By choosing those EDID's you can force the 4K60 Pro to appear as a 1080p 240hz monitor or 1440p 144hz monitor.

On default, it still supports those but the GPU may think "Hey this is a 4K 60hz monitor, we should upscale our video and send 4K." So you can end up in some situations where you're fighting against Windows and your GPU. Selecting the EDID helps ensure the system is sending the right signal.

So it's not required to set those, but can help.

My recordings are set to 1080p60 in the 4K Utility software, but when I just move around in my game and look at the preview window, then to me it looks rather choppy. Could this be because my eyes are used to the 240hz monitor, which I've been gaming on for years now or?

Or is the playback always rather choppy and the smoothness is added is "postproduction" and when it finally hits Youtube or something, it's smooth and nice to watch?

@molten apex It will be washed out if it's not tonemapped, essentially since it will be showing the entire range of brightness. That's the super simple explanation.

But unless you're recording HDR, you don't need to do anything special the MK.2 does this process on the card, so you can play in HDR and any software using the card will look right.

@south bronze can you confirm the driver version by going into Device Manager > Sound, Video, and Game Controllers, and right clicking on the 4K60 Pro Mk.2 and going to Properties > Driver tab.

Okay, so I’ve downloaded the OBS Studio update and redownloaded the NDI plugin. Now when I connect my legato hd60s, it flashes white then red one tome. OBS studio does not see the device but El Gatos OBS Link does see the device. I cannot get the device to connect in OBS Studio. The hd flashes red every few seconds. Does anyone here happen to own or have experience with the 4k60pro rev 2 capture card? I just bought one..... hooked everything up running duel pc as to not be confusing with what I'm going to say...... if I run the hdmi 2.0 line out of my gpu into the in of the capture card it works as soon as I use a 2.0 hdmi switch using only 2.0 cables both of them worked without switch.... it shows up on the computer as a monitor and I clone but no signal through the elgato utility or other utilities..... tried it with ps4 as well.... works without switch, with switch no signal..... I know there is communication happening because computer still picking it up

You're trying to send 4096x2160 to the card. Is this the resolution of your monitor? is 3840x2160 fine?

I'll start by saying I have an HD60s. I HDMI'd my Nintendo Switch into the HDMI IN, and connected the HDMI OUT to my TV (We'll call this "Monitor A"). I connected the USB that came with it into my computer's USB 3.1 port (I've tried all the other ports as well to be sure 3.1 wasn't broken). The Elgato device flashed white, white, red. I opened my Game Capture HD software (on my 2nd monitor which we will call "Monitor B" Monitor B is set to duplicate Monitor A so I can see what Monitor A would show despite having changed its input over to my game console) and in the top right it states "No Capture Devices Found". I tried a variety of troubleshooting steps such as resetting the PC, resetting the elgato, changing out wires and ports, I even went into device manager and unticked all of the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" boxes on my USB 3.0... I wondered how I was receiving video and audio of the console through Monitor A if on Monitor B I can see that the elgato isn't working properly according to my pc's device manager. In the Device Manager it states "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
For the life of me I could not find a driver for the elgato. I downloaded every video capture software I found on the elgato website and installed it all. Nothing works. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

I am having an issue with the game capture HD program, I can see the stream button when I load it up and have no accounts linked but once I add an account for it to stream to the stream button disappears and I can't go live. Hey guys, Xmas came early for me and got my Elgato HD60S+ 2 days ago and as expected it's a great product it really lives up to the expectations that being said even though I downloaded the 4k capture utility I use OBS to record with it but the quality looks a bit off and don't know how to fix it and I was wondering if anyone could help me

HDMI from ur GPU to "HDMI IN" in the capture card

HDMI from ur main monitor to "HDMI OUT" in the capture card

Ur 9900k does have integrated graphics btw, so yes you can. If I was you, I would switch around the i9 for the i7 in your gaming PC. They both use the same integrated IGP

@sharp owl Yes, if you use displayport for your monitor you just use that. And then yes, the HDMI port in your monitor to the capture card. Make sure you manually switch to displayport on the monitor. Mine kept switching to the HDMI input

I use obs Studio. Everything I’ve seen it says download the 4K capture card to set the audio settings, but that isn’t compatible with Mac. @cunning latch

I am using this at work for email macros and the 500 character limit ends up being quite small... I realise I could do a multi action but it seems fairly long winded just to input text into an email. Yeah to remove the displayed info (I have the EOS R) you have to keep pressing the info button until it is all hidden

i was hearing myself/party fine, but people watching said there was a static sound and in an attempt to fix it...i cant hear my own voice anymore in recordings. i have the astro mix amp's aux plugged into the line out of my pc for pc sounds. i have the streamport of the mix amp plugged into the elgato. i have the optical and usb cables plugged in from the mix amp to my xbox....

What I do is connect the stream output on the MixAmp TR to my PC audio input

#

in the MixAmp settings (Command Center app), I just send the Xbox Live party chat through that channel

#

If you want to record your own voice too, you can add your headset mic into that channel

#

but then to record everything, I typically use OBS

#

(I actually use the 4K Capture Utility so that I can record clean gameplay, then OBS to stream/record with party chat, my own mic, webcam, etc.)

With the 4K Capture Utility, you can use it to send a NDI signal to OBS so you can then also use the "clean feed" into OBS (else, elgato devices can only be used once in one program only)

@lavish heath Try going into OBS Studio's settings, then under Audio go to Mic/Auxillary Audio and see if Game Capture HD60 S+ is an option.

You may need to add it as an additional audio source that way.

The screen on the camera will go off after 30 mins, but the camera will stay on indefinitely if you have the dc coupler

one as is and one without overlay

those require two different methods to accomplish

and depending upon what your priorities are you could do 3 different things

to go with the simplest method, hit stream and record at the same time
