hey all, trying to figure this out. connected rtx 2070 to input of 4k60 Mk. 2 card, after installing 4k utility and mirroring my displays at the correct resolution i get this green overlay on top of everything

im running a 4k 144Hz diplay as my gaming monitor, but the 4k60 pro elgato capture card keeps it locked at 60Hz. the monitor is connected via Display port to the GPU and the Capture Card via HDMI to the same GPU. is there a way i can keep my monitor at 144hz? tried all that i found so far, and it didnt work

How do you fix the color profiles for the el gato capture, it's a bit washed out.
I'm at 701 with full hdmi color range on both the el gato and the streaming settings, so I'm not sure what I can do to fix it. 😮

i have 2 phones, One Plus 6T and the Asus rog 2, atm i only have the 6T. I have elgato 60s and a hdmi Splitter and also a towerpc. I tryd everything even with a hdmi out to my pc but nothing will work i dont get a Signal, and i wonder if its because of the phone

Though someone else will likely know it better. But you should be OK since you have an i7, as well as a GTX 10xx card
So even if your CPU lags using software encoding, you can always fall back to hardware encoding (NVENC)

@simple portal The issue is likely due to using full HDMI color. Switch to Partial or standard and contrast should look correct.

@olive geyser Go into 4K Capture Utility. Settings. Device tab. Then set Input EDID Mode to Internal. Then set the EDID type to 1440p. Your GPU may be trying to upscale the image to 4K since it think it's a 4K monitor. Thus 60hz limit.

@round hearth Well that's expected. Discord's streaming system is like OBS where it will try to hook a program or game to stream. Capture Cards will be a video input like a webcam as mentioned. So video calls would work.
Or maybe you can force Discord to 'stream' a preview from OBS, Game Capture, 4KCU. Haven't tried myself but this looks to be a Discord behavior issue.
@south bronze Try using other USB 3.0 ports, reinstall HD60 S drivers: [https://e.lga.to/drivers] and reboot system. But sometimes it could be USB Controller drivers which would come from your motherboard's manufacture.
@sand pier D#5410 Do you know which Nvidia driver version you have installed? There were some reported issues with the latest 441.12.
But try reinstalling 4K60 Pro MK.2 drivers: [https://gc-updates.elgato.com/windows/drivers/4k60-pro-mk2/download.php] and reboot and see if things improve.

Yes it's strange. Before I thought it was the fault of the icons I had before then for example that of the voicemod in the upper left corner is a very strong cyan blue and in my streamdeck it looks off, however if I drag that icon to another button on the right puts the corresponding brightness

I have recently been using a GCHD MkII connected to my HD60 Pro to stream GameCube games on my twitch through OBS, how ever throughout the stream the game audio slowly desyncs with the video. I stream from several retro consoles using my HD60 Pro and the only one I have this problem with is my GameCube. Any suggestions?

Try doing a reset on the lights and re-pairing them.
@icy steppe Would suggest the MK.2 since it has much higher native refresh support. But HDMI 2.0 goes up to 144hz for 1440p. So if your monitor is overclocked from 144hz, there could be some setup issues there.
HD60 Pro is limited to 60hz, so you'd be looking at work arounds regardless.

@icy steppe The resolution you stream or record at is handled all through software. But the capture card being able to accept a higher native resolution or refresh rate ends up making it more flexible when trying to get your main display to run at its normal high refresh rate.
But yes, 1080p60 is no issue.

@south bronze In order to capture video from a laptop or PC, you'll need to connect its HDMI output port to the capture card. Then the capture card will appear like a 2nd monitor to the computer.
From there you need to duplicate or clone that 2nd display with your main monitor. You can do this in Windows Display Settings.
Then your system will send a duplicate signal out to the capture card.

@floral jetty Thank you for your response, I am currently using Elgato with OBS, Obs now have scene transitions, I am using the Stinger transition, however the stinger transition is doubling up, so I decided to set it back to just fade out. So my solution to the problem was to crreate a scene called Stinger and allow Elgato to play out the Stinger scene, however the background is showing as as black
I don't know how to resolve this situation, or if I just go and manually click the scenes on OBS rather than using my stream deck

hi guys. I got my elgado hd60s a few days ago to livestream to twitch with my nintendo switch. I tested it and I have a major problem. when streaming, in the gamecapture and in obs labs everything is awesome (video audio all fine) BUT the viewers in the stream see everything blurry when there is motion. the more effects and motion in the game, the blurrier it gets. also my facecam gets blurry, not only the game itself but everything in the stream . I actually wanted to do a 24 hour stream right at release at pokemon sword (tomorrow 0 o ' clock, in a few hours) i am trying really hard to fix it but I do not find anything on this topic. My capture card is connected to the Nintendo with HDMI-in , the HDMI-out is connected to my monitor and the usb is connected to my pc. The stream and every recording gets blurry in motion. but on my monitor while playing and in obs streamlabs everything looks fine. I hope you understand my problem I am not a native english-speaker .
I want to mention that I first tryed to do it without my elgato beeing connected to the monitor via HDMI because the monitor has only one hdmi slot which is connected to the computer. I thought that was the problem. So I went to buy a special adapter which lets my hdmi connect to the dp-in slot in my monitor . But the problem is still there 😦

update : I put all my settings on obs labs and in the elgato software very low . so low that an old pc with only 2mbit uplaodrate should handle them. it does not get better at all and now i have settings and the gamequality looks terrible xD

But only other things would be that Stream Deck and OBS usually should be on the same drives. And when reinstalling Stream Deck be sure OBS Studio is closed at the same time. If it's open, the plugin might not install right.

@round cedar - 1st, can you clarify what you mean by "analogs"?
The Avermedia is in between the HD60 S and HD60 S+ in terms of most features. It'll do 4K passthrough, HD60 S won't, but HD60 S+ will do 4K HDR pass through and capture 1080p HDR.
The LGP2 has a micro SD card slot for PC free recording, our cards don't - if that's the big feature you're looking at for the Avermedia, we don't have a counterpart to that currently.
One thing to keep in mind is the LGP2 is USB 2.0 whereas the HD60 S and S+ are USB 3.0 - so I would assume the 2.0 carries a higher latency, as we used to see with our old cards, the Game Capture HD and HD60, which required doing audio sync off sets etc. in OBS to get to work right for streaming which isn't a fun time. This is an assumption based on the USB 2.0 and not based on personal experience because I haven't personally used this card.
Anything else I would leave the community to answer for you - you can read reviews on our product and Avermedia's to get a gauge of performances and experiences. Back with our old cards if you were using software like Xsplit/OBS it was, because you had to manually set delays on your webcam and microphone to match the capture card because let's say you get a great kill and your webcam reacts instantly but your capture card is 1 second behind - you don't want that so you have to delay your webcam and audio to let the card keep up with it because usb 2.0 is only so fast
Again, this is my experience with older USB 2.0 cards, this one could have improved latency

Are you referring to the blockiness in some sections? That just looks to be from video compression since lots of things are happening on screen. The relatively static image of the facecam ends up losing detail.
Essentially using a higher bitrate or slower quality preset would be the general solution there.

RDR2 is such a dense image so that will be a challenge. If you tested with a smoother game image like overwatch I'm sure your facecam would be much sharper.
if you look for it, you'll find many deal with this sort of problem.
And we're all hoping Twitch raises the bitrate limit. 1080p60 is considered normal now and 6K is a tiny budget sometimes like in RDR2 streams due to all the details.

Hi there. I did a stream today on Mixer, and my fans got quite a lot of screen tearing from there end, to the point I had to end the stream 30 minutes early.
Now I’m using Streamlabs OBS, and I was using the NVEC encoder (new) as I have a high PC spec. I am switching to the Software x264 (CPU Encoder) for tomorrow’s stream to see if that makes a difference. If that does then the problem should be resolved.
However a few weeks ago when I was looking to buy one of Elgato’s capture cards, I remember an Elgato user had the same issue and wondered if and how they resolved this; as it could be a problem with my capture card (Elgato HD60 Pro).

@icy steppe You connect what you want to capture into the HDMI IN on the 4K60 Pro. If you wanted to capture the Laptop, that would go into the HDMI Input.
Your GPU doesn't need to connect into the 4K60 Pro unless you're capturing video coming out of that GPU.

In reference to my previous support question about why the stream deck wasn't working inside certain games like battlefield V and Call of duty modern warfare, (which never got answered)
I have come to inform you all that I have fixed the problem and hopefully the fix can be replicated on everyone's pc even for similar problems outside of games (eg. OBS studios).
Stream deck software needs to auto start with admin permissions every single time and it may also help to give every application you are working with automatic admin permissions as well.

Did the newest update to StreamDeck (4.4.0) break OBS scene transitions for anyone else using Studio mode? It no longer switches the scene to the live program and instead switches it to the preview window.

Does an audio splitter not work on the HD 60 S+? I'm using one for my iPad and am unable to set it up on OBS to be able to receive any audio.
The audio splitter is for my headset to be able to hear real-time sound and also for the capture card to receive audio as well since I am getting audio delay when listening on OBS.
If I was using the elgato HD60 I would be able to solve it through the Game Capture program
But sadly Game Capture does not support the HD60S+, so I'm wondering if there is any other alternative to enable that setting?

Nevermind, I guess I found confirmation that it did indeed break scene switching while using studio mode. How could this update go out without a "transition" action that we could add to our StreamDecks? It's now impossible to actually switch to a scene while using studio mode without using clunky hotkey stuff. Any news on a quick update to fix this?

I have my set up working fine, PS4 with a HD60 Pro Capture Card.
However I am upgrading from my Astro A50s to a new headset.
Do I simply need to run the Digital Optical Cable from the PS4 into the Input on the THX 788?
(I dont have the Amp yet, so I can't test it out).
Nothing else really changes from what I can see.
Sound still comes from the USB into the Amp/headset and then the PS4 Optical Cable sends the party chat through to share the sound

There are two ways:
One: I know XSplit at the very least has an option to route the capture card to system sound (not just stream only). Chances are OBS has a similarly named function for that.
Two: connect the HDMI out side to a monitor and use the passthrough for it. You'll need to connect your headphones to your monitor however (or use the speakers of your monitor, if they have them)
Please note however that option two requires you to either have a headphone out port for your monitor, or speakers built in.

@south bronze Any video on your TV? Does the software mention anything about "HDCP"? Might show in the preview or on the top right.
You may need to power cycle your console. With the Xbox One on, press and hold the power button until the console does an audible chime and the light turns off. You should be able to power it back on to see if it works. This should clear any HDCP encryption.

@south bronze Sounds like the console may have HDCP enabled which is blocking the capture and passthrough. Try the power cycle. Should clear it. Just be aware, HDCP is turned on whenever you view videos from friends or view a media app like Netflix.

@south bronze Leave the HD60 S completely disconnected from any cables for a few minutes to reset. With it disconnected, try reinstalling the HD60 S drivers and rebooting like linked above.
With the Xbox directly connected to your TV, make sure you go into General Settings, TV & Display Options, then set the resolution to 1080p or lower. Perhaps it's still on a higher setting.

Did a massive search on here for Camlink 4K feedback and I guess I'll put in mine: anyone else have the signal freeze when broadcasting your PC video output? At the same time, the audio output to the camlink would spike with a loud jolt when the signal would freeze. I spent last night's stream swapping the source input in OBS to get it back, but every time I changed game resolution from full to borderless the signal would freeze. Also exiting the game would do the same.
I mirrored a displayport to HDMI cable signal to the camlink.

The Chat Link will send all audio to the capture card that you would hear with your normal wired headset. So if some audio isn't coming through, the console may need to be adjusted.

Hello! I'm one of those annoying people that joins to get help, as I've spent hours reading guides and watching videos trying to figure out what obvious mistake I'm doing. As I can't I found you guys and really hope for some form of feedback!
I have a beefy PC, a PS4, the Game Capture HD60S, the Chat Link cable and a Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless headset. I use Streamlabs OBS to stream. PS4 ingame/menu audio is sent to PC, but not lobby chat.
I've connected the headset via 3.5mm cable to the Chat Link, and connected it to the PS4 controller and the "input" on the HD60S.
Then in OBS I've added the Elgato as a source, and under "Configure video" chosen analog as Audio Input choice.
As far as I understand this should now send all sound from the PS4 to the Elgato and into the PC. But when I load up a game and join a party, OBS picks up the game audio but not lobby chat. In the PlayStation menu output device is "Headset Connected to Controller" and at "Output to Headphones" I've chosen all audio.
I've tried adding the line in as an own source with same results. I'm not using the Sound Capture software, and I only use the Game Capture HD software to play the game on my monitor as I use Streamlabs OBS to do the streaming.
All the guides I find says I'm doing it right, but just can't understand what I'm messing up so me and our small norwegian community really hope anyone here can help out, anything is appreciated!

@mighty tinsel For Sound Capture to work, it needs to become your system's audio device, the software then routes it to your headset as per your Sound Capture settings.
Are you currently using Sound Capture?
@south bronze 1050 Ti is a very good GPU for streaming. Which i5 model? Though you could probably do all your encoding on the GPU.

For this you do not need Sound Capture or any other specific settings in OBS.
@mighty tinsel What is the question? If you aren't using Sound Capture, just go into its utility and set it to Off, or just uninstall it from the system.

Yeah I did consider as the cable isn't a "normal" one from headset it could create issues, but as I can hear everything just fine it seems the issue is somewhere between it and output in OBS.
I didn't really try in Game Capture HD, I have it open and changed to analog audio just because but haven't really used it so didnt immediately see where I could track the soundlevels (like the mixer in OBS). Can maybe look into it.
It's about 2AM here so think I'll leave it for now, but maybe sending a mail would be better? Not sure about calling from Norway, but an option!

Oh sorry, I mean there could still be an issue with the Chat Link. It is wired to split anything you hear and sends it to the capture card. If you are hearing audio in the headset, then the issue lies in the cable or software. However, the team can go through the setup more carefully to be sure.

Hello I am new to this server and I have an issue with audio. The issue is that I am trying to record in-game voice chat. However, I can record the game sound but the perople talking in game chat are not recorded. I play on an Xbox One.
I hav mad a discovery. When I unplug my headphones from my controller, the elgato picks up the game chat audio. However, when i plug my headset back in it doesnt recor the game chat, but records the game sound.

Looks like the A5100 uses a Micro HDMI (I think called Type D) port, not MiniHDMI.

hey, ive been having an issue with my hd60s when trying to capture my wii while using an HDMI adapter but im getting really weird audio issues
its isolated to the capture card since the adapter outputs audio fine to a TV
im not sure if it sounds similar to an issue someone else had before

its a lot more like, fast paced stuttering wise when im listening to it from the capture software, but when i actually record it, it seems different

@south bronze Sound Capture is only for collecting audio from the computer to insert into the stream. It's not related to audio from a console.
If you're using Game Capture HD, then make sure your streaming bitrate is high enough. You can adjust it on the right side.
But the recording bitrate is inside the Device Settings menu with the gear cog to the right of the icon of your HD60.

HDCP is a copy protection mechanism. You'd need a splitter to bypass that. And in many countries this is illegal and can land you in jail.

Color could simply be down to the calibration of the iPad and the computer's screen. If the settings are defaulted in the software and if you connect a monitor or TV to the HDMI output of the S or S+ it may show a difference there too.

But your settings seem fine. What do you mean it looked better with the HD60 Pro? What capture device are you using now?
@vocal wasp Your game, Stream Deck software, or both might need to be running in Admin mode for hotkeys to be sent.
@chrome sentinel Try moving the Cam Link 4K to other USB 3.0 ports on the system. And remove unneeded devices if possible. Sometimes this is from crowded USB controllers.

You can also make it unlisted to hide it from others seeing it.
But the video looks perfect to me.
So only thing I can think up now is there is an issue with playback. Are you viewing the video inside of the Game Capture program or another media app?

Try seeing if you can switch decoder to Software (Built In) or an Intel UHD option.
But the 1050 should normally be fine for encoding and decoding. Could be a GPU driver issue.

Certainly worth a go. The change should be live the moment you hit OK.
You can also test the HD60 S inside of 4K Capture Utility and playback some recordings in there. It's a totally different application and may work better for you compared to GCHD if that change doesn't help.

@cunning latch hotkeys function is bit weird. I run all aps as admin, still nothing unless im on the streamdeck app. I got it working tho, i needed to re-assign every key. Noticed it was doing the same on the scene selections. Re-assign and it worked, atleast for now. We'll see when i start the programs again If it loses them

Anyone have a solution for the Twitch Chat buttons (account) disconnecting/not sending messages? Seems to be inconsistent. Some days it will work fine others it doesn’t. A reconnect always works but also always eventually fails again. Can’t seem to get consistency with these...

Hi, I have been using the elgato hd60s for a while now, I stopped using it for about a year and now when I try to plug it in the game capture software it says I need a USB 3.0 I am already using this does anyone know how to fix my issue?

@bright lark 4KCU only records 16:9 resolutions, but the card supports 21:9 just fine. But you'll need to use something like OBS Studio for nonstandard resolutions.

just got cam link 4k using sony A5100 each time I shut camera off to shutdown and exit OBS when I turn camera back on with OBS I have to reset everything to display cam within OBS by using the Game Capture HD not sure why I have hard time each shutdown and setup to bring back camera each time in OBS.
and also within OBS i highlight cam link after shutdown its blank and then I try to highlight Elgato game capture it says being use by another device no camera displayed def stumped on this one

Just make sure the cable you buy, if at a store, is indeed 3.0. Type C doesn't necessarily mean a cable is wired for 3.0

Whenever I add any apps from the "More Actions" list, my streamdeck app appears like this and I have to relaunch the app every single time I add a new button, or click on any to bring up it's options.
After a few more seconds the entire window would be a solid white.
I've seen a couple of reddit posts with the same issue but no one seems to have an answer, hoping someone here might have had this before?
I have to restart the app every time I add a button, but won't be able to customize them either because as soon as I click on it it goes transparent and quickly turns solid white

also the audio doesn't work for my 4k60 pro in obs. Apparently in order to fix this I'm supposed to download the 'game capture hd' utility which doesn't even support the 4k60 pro, and open up the other add-on application called 'sound capture' to change some settings pertaining to my capture card. Which also didn't resolve the issue. What is going on with the design over there?! I need to use an app that doesn't support my capture card to change settings to get sound to work?! There is supposed 3440x1440 support but it's unreliable at best and the 4k capture utility doesn't even support that aspect ratio... how difficult is it to get the base canvas of a capture utility to be set as the incoming resolution?! Outside programs such as OBS can recognize it just as that, but your own software can't?! I got 2 of these cards to record the raw feed for my gameplay and camera and was told it could be done by some 'alternative method' but I don't see how that could ever work considering you can't open more than 1 4k capture util at a time, and the game capture HD doesn't support the 4k 60... this is like a twilight zone episode.

I have a 15 button stream deck and win 10, and during streams if i haven't pressed a stream deck button in a while and i try to, it gives me a yellow triangle with an exclamation point symbol and refuses to do the command i had programmed. after pushing the button angerly several times it will finally execute the programed function. This is HIGHLY annoying because alot of my buttons control spotify or just roll soundeffects in stream that need to play immediately when pushed. What the hell is this triangle exclamation point thing and how do i get my stream deck to remain responsive?

hey everyone, id like a bit of help with something. I've got a camlink on the way so I can use my dslr camera as a webcam and im curious to know how i can have two cameras being captured at the same time. One of the youtubers/streamers I watch, Harris Heller, has this worked out but he uses a two PC setup and a quad capture card which just isnt an option for me. Is there anyone in here who knows how to have two cameras hooked up and recording at the same time on a 1 PC setup?

For audio, do you get audio just fine in 4KCU right now? The way you describe it sounds like OBS specifically isn't working with audio. Sound Capture isn't really required, it's just an option for two PC setups to send audio from the Gaming PC to the Stream PC, and even then it's only installed on the Gaming PC. You can also use Voicemeeter which would offer more options.

Yeah that was the same as the original version. It didnt appear to have been updated with the release of the new HDR10 version of the card. Wasnt sure if any of the actual capabilities had also changed.

@supple mirage sometimes it's a false alarm. But you're losing audio due to how the PS4 works. It mutes audio over HDMI when you connect a headset.

So I just picked up the 4K 60 Pro Mark 2, and for the most part it works, but when I record in 4K60 with HDR enabled, the playback comes out incredibly choppy and basically unusable, which doesn't happen when HDR is disabled.
For reference, I have an i5-9400 processor, and an Nvidia 1660 graphics card. I know I don't fully reach the required specs, but it shouldn't be this bad.
I suspect it's the 4K CU program itself, as when recording on other softwares it comes out great.
Any help is appreciated.

I have a HD60 s and i set it all up etc and installed all the software and its saying "Game capture HD60S needs to be connected to USB 3.0 to function properly" heres the catch i have it plugged into usb 3.0 and i have tried switching it may someone please help with this problem?

is it essential to have a graphics card in a streaming pc with an AMD RYZEN 7 2700, since I read articles on google about that if you have a dual pc setup a graphics card is not needed, but I don't have integrated graphics in my cpu
@south bronze Have you checked if you have updated your USB drivers? maybe the PC only sees it as 'usb' instead of 'usb 3.0'

hello i am having issues with uninstalling the control center for the key light, also cant repair it, or reinstall it. every time i try to do anything it says i am missing a installer package which i do not believe i have deleted anything of the pc that would cause this. any help is appreciated

Ok so I am thinking about getting the Keylight....I stream from my XBox1x....Use a Macbook Pro. So Keylight hooks up via USB (I am sure I can use a powered hub) and a power outlet correct? Anything I should know about it....Is there an idea setup for this? I currently do not have a Desk, and I see many setups have it cranked to the desk....let me know. I bought a cheap light with a foldable tri-fold base a few months ago and it doesn't work with shit

@frozen vortex Key Light is a 2.4Ghz Wifi device. It's powered by it's own adapter but it doesn't connect to a computer. You can control it using any Mac, PC, iPhone, or Android device on the same network.
Key Lights are controlled through our 'Control Center' software.

Control Center is a taskbar only application. It's not a specific window. Once the Key Lights are paired to your Wifi Network, they'll show up on any device running the software on the same network.
To pair them you just need any 2.4Ghz capable device. Could be a phone, or wifi connected computer. Once it's paired, you can talk to it using a wired device as long as it's the same network.
The Key Lights will ship with a MultiMount in the box, but you can remove the clamp and get a weighted base if desired.

so when I turn on the keylight... I will get a prompt on my Macbook Pro that will recognize a new accessory has been turned on.

You turn on the Key Light. Then on your Macbook Pro, you click on the Control Center icon. You'll see something like this.
Click on Add Accessory. if the lights are turned on and lit, then you'll see a list of Key Light(s) units you can add. When you add it, you tell it which network to connect to you then provide your Wifi Password. That information is provided to the light so it can connect to your network on its own.

Once the light is connected to the network, any device on the network can control it. No need to pair it multiple times.

@frozen vortex Alright so it looks like this is the wrong menu. If you click on your Wifi icon on the task bar there is a section showing new accessories.
But if you have no Key Light, it's possible that this section won't show up if there isn't an available device.

I'm trying to set up a "WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK" effect all in one button, and so far I have the picture and sound playing when I push the button. When I push it again, the picture does NOT disappear and the audio plays again. Can someone help me figure out how to turn off the picture and not play the sound when I push it a second time?
