Hello just was curious when updating firmware on stream deck mini is it suppose to be blinking on and off on the display? Also when updating firmware it just continues disconnect it self from the PC like its trying to install using firmware version 3.00.000

after firware update all I see is the elgato logo blinking and hearing the windows sound like beeping when first installing a device once I plug the device back in everything is ok

my first tip I'd give you is (if possible) to plug the stream deck into a different USB bus on your computer

Heyo. Recently reformatted my computer, and after getting everything re-installed, (after upgrading from windows 1809 to 1903), my camlink within OBS freezes between once every couple seconds to once every 10 minutes or so. Freezes randomly. Anyone else experiencing this / find a solution? I did a firmware update, and changed USB ports, and nothing fixed it. This wasn't happening before either.
I'm also noticing I don't have nearly as many resolution options like I (THINK) used to. Could be wrong though.

That or what OBS is detecting as the device default could be the issue. I would try YUY2 or NV12 if YUY2 isn't working well. I'd also set the FPS to 60 fps just to make sure OBS/Windows aren't choosing the wrong settings.

ive chosen a bunch of settings already, and i only have 60fps as an option. I don't have any other resolution / fps options at all. I can try the different video format, though YUY2 is the only available option, so I can't imagine it's using anything other than that.
one thing I might do is uninstall the device driver within the device manager and let windows re-install it
in case the driver installation got scuffed.

Yeah, if you're using the Gen 1 Cam Link, it only supports YUY2.

was never an issue before. I'll keep messing with it. One thing I did within obs is goto all my other video capture sources and just double check to make sure they're set, and it hasn't frozen since. We'll see.
When I re-formatted my PC and moved my files back, the installation of OBS I use is (and has always been) portable mode, so maybe not opening up the settings panel for each video capture source might somehow have caused issues internally with obs.

I'm not sure if you had disconnected the device and plugged it into a new USB port while reformatting your system, but it could also be an issue that a different USB controller is now responsible for the Cam Link and it's just not working properly or the drivers for that USB controllers are having an issue.
I wouldn't think an issue like that would happen with a portable version of OBS, but it's possible and if it hasn't malfunctioned yet, that might be it too. That's a much less headache-inducing fix than trying to deal with the issue above.

I'm just hoping for the simple stuff because it's easier to fix. Since the only variable so far is going to the 1903 feature update, if the issue continues, I'm leaning toward the possibility that there is something going on between the USB controller(s) and Windows, which is causing an issue driving the Cam Link since it's a high bandwidth device. That's if the issue continues.

But yeah, I can't really speak with too much confidence as it's so hard to tell what's a problem with a specific device or component and what's just a cause of the update breaking something, especially when considering Microsoft's track record over the past couple of years with them.

truth. I'm gonna keep messing with it. the HD60 Pro is exhibiting some VERY weird behavior right now. It doesn't show up in the device manager at all, I reinstalled the driver for it, but it does show up in OBS, though reads as "in use by another application", but it DOESN'T show up at all in Game Capture HD. Extremely strange.
and whenever I turn the hd60 pro source on in obs, it cuts the camlink out for about a second, so my guess is, the scuffed driver for the hd60 pro is somehow affecting the camlink.
Though I believe the CamLink freezing issue is fixed. Or it hasn't frozen for a good 20+ minutes since I went and just checked on each video capture device.

@sharp agate I usually update firmware on a new device to just make sure I have current app and firmware for device just first time I seen a device do this but its updated and yes windows 10 can be picky for sure. Ya I updated firmware then the device just started flashing the elgato logo and the beeping sound as if the device was being installed and recognized by windows I then tried different ports same result but once I reset the device via unplugging and plugging it back into USB port its been fine. ONly with firmware update not app software update so I'm guessing just some snapfu with the firmware and windows I guess but display and key are working as intended if something changes I will post thus far after PC restart no issues.

It sounds like a power delivery issue. I'm not exactly sure if it's an issue with Windows or the firmware, but it depends on your system. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Do you have other USB devices connected to your system?

I'm not sure if the firmware increased the power requirements for the stream deck or not. I haven't had to update my firmware for my 16 key model and it's the only real USB powered device I have connected. If you have any other devices being powered via USB, aside from your mouse and keyboard, I would try disconnecting those and see if the deck becomes stable.

A good rule of thumb is that you should always update the software, but only update the firmware if you have to.

Just keep an eye on it for now. See if any other issues come up. Again, I would refrain from updating the firmware on devices unless you absolutely have to as you can't easily roll back as you can with software, and not all firmware is is designed to be an update or an upgrade.
An example is that I have an optical blu-ray drive on my desktop like someone who built their system back in 2011. I never updated the firmware for the optical drive, but some users reported newer models or updated firmware models losing the ability to play 4K blu-ray discs even though older models were able to do so.

figured out my hd60 pro issue too. moved it to a different pcie port. I had to move it from a 4x to a 1x port when I made my changes the other day. That shoulda been fine. For all I know it was seated improperly. But I have it in a 16x slot now, which is working. So both my hd60 pro and my camlink work again, though I'm not 100% on if the camlink will or wont freeze again at some point, but for now it seems good.

Hi, I am experiencing a similar issue - I'm using an HD60s with Stream Labs OBS, and it works fine, but causes my USB microphone to start stuttering horribly. My built-in microphone with my webcam does not have this issue, but it is of considerably lower quality.
With a different capture card for A/V capturing, this issue doesn't appear. With the Elgato HD60s unplugged, the issue similarly doesn't appear. It specifically only happens with the HD60s and my Shure SM7b plugged into the computer and being used at the same time.
I just attempted to open Game Capture HD with the HD60s plugged in and streaming to my laptop, and speaking into my Shure SM7b, and everything worked fine, no noticeable stuttering - however if I do this in Streamlabs OBS then the two don't play nice.
Are there any suggestions for helping with this? I've already changed the resolution on the HD60s to 1280x720 and tried both x264 and hardware encoding in OBS, nothing seems to solve this dilemma.

no, and I managed to get it working.
Or at least it didn't freeze for over 3 hours.
It was probably a combination of things, but the last thing I did after it froze for the last time, I unplugged it, went to my device manager, and uninstalled all instances of camlink from the device manager. I ALSO changed the USB data mode to Isochronous, via ctrl clicking the gear icon within game capture HD for the CamLink itself.
i feel like the usb data mode was ultimately what fixed it. It was absolutely one of those two things.

And just to mention it, I tried usb ports both within a hub, and directly connected to the motherboard (asus zenith extreme). Neither changed the result. Only changing the USB data mode (or maybe the device manager thing) fixed it.

We generally don't suggest changing that but good to know that that may have been the resolution in your case. 4K doesn't have that option, afaik.

I have the same thing, I think the #001 is if you are capturing through the Elgato Game Capture software, I was fiddling around with it yesterday.

Hello! I have an issue with streamdeck 3.4 and tipeestream. I’ve configured everything correctly but i still cant control scenes from the streamdeck, whenever i press the button, nothing happens, altho i did set up “control with stream deck” option, and correctly logged in on the streamdeck app and scenes appear on the buttons. I’m not sure how to fix it, it used to work fine before.

So can someone help me with an issue I have with the Elgate Game Capture HD (the 1st Gen);
I have everything set up correctly, it absolutely refuses to share to my OBS, occasionally shows to the Elgato software, and when I do get it to show, i can only get it to stay for the amount of time I am on my console, when I go to do it again the next day; I have to repeat this WHOLE process with 0.000001% chance of it actually showing.
I've got it to show on my TV now; but OBS/Elgato software absolutely nothing

Both my gaming and streaming pc connect to my behringer mixer, along with my mic. That audio goes out via USB to the streaming pc for obs to pick up

I also use the FX Send output to go to my gaming PC and have the dial for the mic turned up so I have dedicated mic out for Discord
I don't have a console so to that I'm unsure. I just know it works for PC

Yea it's one-way. Having a mixamp with an auxiliary input for PC audio would allow for that though.

Audio output question. I am game capturing my PC onto my laptop. I want to utilize my bluetooth headset to hear the game on PC but it takes the audio away from game capture on the laptop.

@elder goblet consider using something like Voicemeeter which will allow you to have game audio go into it as a virtual output and then send output to multiple devices

I have a question to anyone who might have some insight.
I'm looking into getting better looking cables, but I don't want to go through the hassle of ordering them custom made by length from that one site everyone always recommends. Does anybody know of a kit I can order? I've seen the ones from Corsair on Amazon, but I'm unclear if those are sufficient because my understanding was that the kit only comes with 4 cables? In any case, any help would be much obliged

Depending on who makes your PSU you can sometimes get kits from the manufacturer. Off the top of my head I know Corsair and EVGA do that. Otherwise you’re looking at custom cables which will cost a pretty penny

So I currently run my xbox one s, through my hd60s, into my monitor. Hd60s hooked up to Dell G7 gaming laptop which runs everything great. Just got a chat link (made my own) and hooked it up from my controller and my hyperx cloud revolver s to the elgato hd60s. It doesnt seem to pick up my voice on my headset mic (I was told with mic monitoring on, It should?) Also is there any other settings I need to change to get game chat, not PARTY chat? I also tried going into elgato setup and changing audio input from hdmi to analog. This got rid of my game audio (guns shooting, etc) and my voice then worked through my headset however, it was extremely quiet no matter what I did

I couldnt really say the issue with the cable items as the cable was made by you. For the chat coming through it would probably be on the xbox and set audio to headset and hdmi i think? havent used an x1 in a while

I have my party chat set to headset and speakers and that seems to work, however that's party chat. I was told the chat link was what I needed to hear peoples voices from my gaming.

When i log into twitch and try and hit a hotkey to send a message to Twitch chat, it simply wont work. it used to prefectly. It is still able to change the title of the stream, youtube chat works fine, but only Twich chat fails. I have had to use System Text to enter stuff into Twitch chat. I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue.

Curious about the automation options on a Key Light. I see you can control it with the Elgato Control app, but unless I have the device I'm unable to see how it works. Has anyone made a good video showing how the interface works, and automation possibilities? I don't own one yet and have a few questions before I buy one. A DMX solution may be the better route to go, but if the dev API is open enough I know I could automate it in software.

'm currently trying to set up my stream deck through voice mod "Meme Sounds" and every time i attempt to set up one on the stream deck software it crashes. The only solution I've found is to repair the software which claims is lacking "Qt Qtwebenineprocess". After I repair this software it will work for 30-40 seconds before crashing again requiring the same repair. This is very frustrating because this product has been recommended to me by multiple people.

Both are up to date. In my message I stated that it will work occasionally after I repair or restart my computer but after 30 seconds or so it crashes. It then continues to crash until I restart and repair it again.

The Streamdeck software is the thing crashing
It has worked before
At one moment after I repaired it I thought I fixed it because I was able to customize one of my streamdecks buttons with a "Meme Sound" and was then able to play it. But 10 seconds later it stopped working and the streamdeck software crashed

Nope Arsenio, not that I know of. It needs the bandwidth of USB3.0 over 2.0 from my understanding. The adapter wouldn't provide the bandwidth required.

May I ask why the mobile app is a monthly/yearly subscription? The Elgato configure app is just a local web server to the app, so it shouldn’t cost anything to Elgato, I would be fine with it being like 5$ to download but the monthly fee is a bit much. Also if the api was open developers could make anything into a stream deck!

HD60S won't be able to to capture up to 4k inputs like the Camlink can

As far as I know, the main advantage is being able to capture at 4K 30fps as well as 1080p 60fps, but you lose HDMI passthrough which is available on the HD60S (if you ever need it).
And the Cam Link 4K is a fair amount cheaper than the other Elgato Capture Cards.

The Cam Link can capture audio via HDMI.
It's also the Cam Link is a UVC capture card, which means it will be detected by Windows as a webcam which means you'll have better compatibility with video chat programs that specifically look for webcams and it can work out of the box without any specific drivers, but drivers from Elgato's website are recommended.

I start my stream wait 5 minutes. Push the Button once. Get the green check mark, but no Message apears in the chat. I try another chat message button, same result. I wait a while push the first button again it works as intended. I can push all chat Message buttons and all keep working as intended. A while later. They suddenly do not work but show the green check mark. Pushing the button twice gives me the exclamation mark for posting messages to often.

It also happens due to how fullscreen programs are handled. If a program goes full screen it takes exclusive control. When you alt tab or close it out. Windows gets it's control back.

I can run my laptop with my 165hz monitor just fine and it’s only 60
You can also technically overclock monitors so my laptop can run at 90 while the desktop monitor runs 165 off it. It’s a good time and pretty unnecessary haha

The way I capture my PS4 is using my capture card to send it to a monitor and I just capture from the card straight to OBS.

In OBS Sources, you can add "Capture Device"
In properties you will see options for Elgato Game Capture HD, Your Webcam, and whatever else is plugged in that can capture.
Select Elgato Game Capture HD and then you can capture the game in OBS

Ok i finally got my capture card to "Work" but now it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every few seconds, and when it does connect it runs around 1-20 FPS. any tips? EDIT: WIndows indicated that the usb thats connected from the PC to the HD60 malfunctioned. any help?

Is there a way to brighten up the game capture? I have an HD60S and my game is coming through a lot darker on stream than what I actually see when playing.

So did some tests last night. Seems running streamlabs to project the source to the streaming pc does crazy things to my fps. Im guessing there is no other way to have a 3440x1440p @ 120hz gaming pc and a 1080 monitor without taking some form of hit on performance huh?

Yea, using projection fps consistantly fluctuates from 120 sometimes down to 59, and right back up, and back down etc

Hey. Im currently setting my Stream Deck up and im stucked. I implemented my Elgato Game Capture Sound from OBS into my Deck. Now I can mute/unmute my gamesound, fine! But how can I only adjust the volume without muting it immediately?

@sand cedar So with the Mixamp connected, you do receive audio. When it's disconnected it is muted?
Because the settings show it should be the exact opposite. When the headset or Mixamp is connected, audio is known to stop due to how PS4 works.

Make sure that the audio format is PCM/Uncompressed on the console. Though I am confused how you'd be getting any audio in the capture software when the Mixamp is connected.

Hi, my camlink 4k has started freezing intermittently to the point that it is ruining my streams. I had no issues leading up to the past week and cant fathom why it would be doing this. I have tried using a different USB port, lowering the image size, and even resorted to having it be the sole connection on a separate USB 3.0 PCIe Hub and it is still freezing. I am so frustrated and really need some support
It is a sony a7 connected with mini hdmi to hdmi into the camlink 4k
Deactivating and reactivating the source in OBS fixes it but its only a matter of time, sometimes seconds, before it freezes again
It shouldnt be a bandwith issue as it is the only thing plugged into a dedicated usb root hub

@velvet light If you've already been using it's own dedicated roothub through a PCIe USB 3.0 card, I'd definitely open a ticket with us. http://e.lga.to/help that USB 3.0 card should isolate it and provide it all the bandwidth it needs. Did you already have one open before?

The community (well some of it) continues to say it will run on Windows 8 or 7 and while some people get it it to work, but it has always said Windows 10 required on the box. Agents still try to help, but what often is linked are just 10 drivers that essentially can still be installed. I try my best to butt into every topic of 7 or 8 support to tell people to stop saying it works.
Your best bet is to return the product or upgrade to 10. You should still be able to upgrade for free. Last I checked that still worked.

That's how the upgrade function is supposed to work. It will attempt to port over your programs and user folders. But if not all of the programs support 10, that may be an issue.

It'll work, the issue is that sometimes your GPU isn't 100% sure if the device will support it. Remember that to your computer, it think it's a 4K 60hz monitor. The profile was what is known as an EDID. Which can be uploaded into the card to tell the system "Hey, this is a 3440x1440 monitor, it supports 100hz. Send that"
There are EDID profiles for 1080p240 and 1440p144 as well.
If you have issues with those, those profiles can help make sure the card is seen correctly by the GPU

So I have my Nintendo switch attached to this HDMI switcher so I can switch btween my secondary PC monitor and my Nintendo switch.
so I hooked up my Nintendo switch to the capture card that's then going from the "out" port of the capture card to my HDMI switcher, just want to confirm if using a HDMI switcher will work with these as most of the tutorial tell me to just have it plugged into my monitor.

as far as I know it should work through hdmi
I've always got audio through hdmi unless you're doing some advanced thing I don't do
If you're using OBS and want the audio to go to your desktop, go into the Properties of the capture source and scroll down to the audio settings and change it to output to desktop (wave)

oh party audio is determined by the players now. it's a personal profile setting last I knew. players can make it so that when they're partied stream audio won't capture it

Also, if the software is switching the gameplay space in the software itself, does it affect the picture output?

What is the audio set to? In Properties for the Game Capture. Scroll down to find the Audio Output Mode
Default is set to "capture audio only" which sends it to the stream and not to you.
If you change that to Output desktop audio (WaveOut) that should put it to your PC speakers
when you make this change the game capture audio will change to Desktop audio in the mixer instead of having its own mixer

@hallow moon After checking with one of our Stream Deck devs, the Control Center app talks to Stream Deck through a local port. So it's possible the firewall is blocking this. Are you using a custom or third party firewall or security software?

I'm just using the stock Windows Firewall, but there's a chance a port is blocked... Did they mention which port it communicates over?
I haven't explicitly blocked anything, but if I know which port its using I can try to troubleshoot it further

They didn't, and they're in Germany so may be offline now. But Windows firewall should be fine to add the app rather than the port to the exception to it.

Yep, ok that's the one. Just confirming. Since the HD will be late with sending video and audio into the scene. You'll want to delay the Webcam and Mic. I'd probably start with 650ms.
If you want to provide some short samples I could gauge it better from there

The HD can vary and has the longest delay of the product series. Sometimes up to a few seconds depending on the source and the system.

Does it seem to change on you? If the game is still late compared to the Mic+Camera, just keep increasing it. That's really the only advice to give.
