@merry fog no i dont use webcam.
Good night people!!
@merry fog Are you on Windows or Mac?
Hi all. Not 100% sure if this has been posted before, but I am using a Sony A7 connected via mini HDMI to HDMI into the HD60 Pro as a video source for OBS. I have noticed that when my CPU usage gets high (and even sometimes when it doesn’t) my video will start to desync by a couple of frames and I have to deactivate and reactivate the Elgato to fix the problem. Any idea what could be causing this?
Hello all!
I’m having a weird problem. I have 2019 iMac with Core i9 and Radeon Pro Vega 48 GPU + Elgato Hd60s. I used to have older iMac (2013) and didn’t have this problem then.
Now when I record something colors are really washed out. Everything looks great on TV and Elgato Game Gapture HD preview. But the file Elgato records looks awful when it comes to colors.
I wonder what happened as I didn’t have any problems with my older iMac. I’m able to save the files using Final Cut Pro X but there definitely something wrong...
This happens with the Nintendo Switch and PS4. And yes, both consols and Elgato Gaming HD software all have expanded HDMI color range. I’have tried pretty much all the combinations.
Any ideas?
And here’ my last live stream with old iMac:
And my recent one with the 2019 iMac:
Colors are really washed out. I just can’t figure out what could cause all of this. Any Mac users here? 🤔
Hi, can someone explain wallpaper to me with stream deck? I made a wallpaper but I don't know how to apply it. Is it in the settings? How do I get the wallpaper to show up?
Heyyo. I just received my new Logitech G Pro X gaming headset today. Ive noticed that the audio on it works perfectly fine if Sound Capture is not running on my gaming pc. I stream from a second pc so I need to use Sound Capture. When I start Sound Capture, all my audio messes up. I set the Sound Capture to default device and any audio that is running through the software gets cut. It sounds like little snipits of audio every second or so. But the moment I disable Sound Capture and use my headset as the default device, everything works perfectly. Just no audio on my stream pc from the Elgato HD60 S. Any help would be appreciated.
@sick hull once you get the zip folder of the icons saved to your pc you have to change the icons on the stream deck software. Cover each item in a folder or action, right click and set from file. select the keys in order.
Hey gang. I just got a retrotink and I'm trying to get the el gato to show up in streamlabs but I'm not having any luck. I get video and sound in the game capture software so I'm not sure what's going on with streamlabs
facepalm I think I fixed it
Ok different question then. I got mono sound going into the el gato. Can I force the el gato to pick that up as mono instead of stereo?
Usually a mono signal is just duplicated in both left and right channels for stereo. Is that happening for you?
no just one side
I only get the right ear
I only have the red audio plugged in because the NES is only mono
Usually for mono it would be just the white RCA connector, but it can vary from device to device.
well either way I have 1 plugged in and I only get the right channel and I want it to play the same audio on both channels
Have you tried to downmix to mono in Streamlabs OBS? If you go to your mixer and click "advanced audio properties" it will open a control panel where you can click an option to downmix for each audio source:
that looks like it fixed it
Nice!
ty!
now my only problem is I'm only hearing one channel on my headphones but that's because of the mixer
totally different issue I need to figure out a work around for
I fixed it. My mic input has a single mono 1/4 input
so I just switched my 1/4 right channel to that input and turned it up
Hi could i have some help regarding my elgato stream deck?
What's up, @spring ingot?
i am currently using this plugin called.... BarRaider Windows Mover and can't hardly get anything to work on it could you help at all? 😃
streamdeck plugins
Whats the issue you're having? finding the location of the windows?
basically..
I've used StreamLabs OBS to locate the window but there should be an update coming to make that easier
i keep having to open a software up Called APE for Black ops 3 mod tools and im getting fed up that every time i open it... it opens all compressed in one window on one monitor but i want the windows mover to open the software at press of button and to open it like this...
@dapper scroll did a lot of work with Windows Mover as I'm not really sure why it's doing that
Is he online and could i ask him regarding it... And also another question why is the applications so difficult to figure out which one is which... its so annoying...
It's through a 3rd party but I know they were working on it to make it easier
Ok cool ik its probably in alpha or beta stage still and when it works its the most useful plugin created but just thought id put that out there and also an amazing job of what ive seen online of how well the plugin works 😃
For sure BarRaider is a great programmer and I'm sure he'll appreciate to hear that!
As for the issue you're having I'll ask around they all just disappeared on me at the moment 😅
Its fine.. dw thanks all so much for your assistance 😃
I'm going to do what I can to replicate the problem. It just might take a moment and hopefully it provides some insight.
Thanks you get what i mean though and it can be done right?
opens normally like this
Oh, I see. Is there a setting within APE that allows you to save your preview and windows locations between application instances? It seems like all of the preview modules are just defaulting back to the main window.
And the Windows Mover won't be able to move things as specified because those windows don't technically exist when the application starts up.
Thats all i get from lovely Treyarch settings XD
Thought so..... its more for moving multiple applications not (sub applications... like multiple windows in a single application)
I'll bring this up to the programmer as feedback if youre unable to do so
@signal musk Thanks dude 😃
@umbral cedar On what? Capture card? Stream Deck? Something else?
Elgato Game Capture HD
And @spring ingot the best compromise for now would be to kind of split the task list into multiple button presses. You can have a button to launch the program, then you can manually separate the modules you want from the program's main window, and then have separate buttons to resize each module's window to your liking. So you click your preview window and then press the stream deck button that resizes and places the preview window where you want it. It still would be more convenient than manually resizing everything every time, but I know it's not as easy as you want it.
@sharp agate Help!
@sharp agate Thanks dude ill try that now 😃
@umbral cedar Are you using a capture device with the software?
Which device are you using?
Console or Capture Card?
The card. Also, these visual artifacts are only in the recording/capture preview, right? It's not your whole desktop or your console?
Right. That's also the name of the capture software so I got mildly confused for a moment.
The card is a legacy product that's been discontinued too. I don't want to say it's broken and needs to be replaced because that's quitter talk, but that kind of artifacting is incredibly abnormal. With digital inputs like HDMI and USB, you either get a signal or you don't, or it may flicker as there are issues transmitting data, but the image won't be distorted quite like that.
But checking the connections would be a good start. Make sure the HDMI cables work by plugging in your console directly into your screen without the card with the various cables and make sure the image is clean with each one.
I would recommend trying to play with settings within the Game Capture HD software and seeing if that helps clean up the image and makes it more stable.
If you have the advanced tab for your device and a TV compatibility slider, I'd recommend adjusting that to see if the problem is fixed.
I did, it looks like that again!
You may be better served if you put in a support ticket and include these image previews within the attachments. You would select the option "I need help with a product I own."
https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000305512
No, shut up. But thanks, though.
I hope you can get this issue solved. I'm just sadly at a loss. Have you been using the device recently and did this just suddenly happen?
No, last time I used it was 2 years ago.
This is my third time asking, I would really appreciate some help
It sounds like the load is causing it to stutter. Does the temps get hot when it is almost at max load?
@umbral cedar why don't you want to open a ticket with the company that makes and supports the device?
I don't like that.
They are there to help you.
@umbral cedar Let's not talk in that sense in here. It's your 1st warning.
I hate you.
O.o
And last warning too.
I request assistance. It's been a while since I last used my elgato, and youtube isn't helping me fix my problem :/ So, I got a new pc, and I finally decided to stream on it. I keeping getting a 'No signal' or 'Please wait' messages but no actual video feed.
@fickle sleet What is the source you're capturing? Do you see anything on your TV?
capturing on switch, an no, nothing is coming through
Are you using the original Nintendo power adapter and dock? Or using something third party?
On your Switch's TV Settings set Match TV Mode to off and manually select a resolution rather than automatic.
Yes, original nentendo power, and resolution is manually set to 1080
Hmm, do you have any other consoles or HDMI devices to connect into your Elgato device?
And does that come through correctly?
havent tried yet
Also one other thing to try is powercycling your Switch. Going into the power menu and directly shutting it off rather than standby, then powering it back up. Switch's now I believe can have HDCP due to some media apps and perhaps HDCP is being enabled.
Do you see any red message on the top right of the Game Capture software?
it initialized, then went to tell me that there is no signal
and i shut it off and turned it back on
@woeful latch it never gets higher than 35% load though
And I didnt have the issued when I tried out SLOBS
I changed the input device to "other" maybe that will help
It was set to "PC" before
Game Capture Software issue
I have to delete my mixer account and readd everytime i want to stream to mixer in order for it to work. Dont have to do that with youtu e or twitch
I'd check what rates OBS is putting out too.
Wow. Thanks for your help crest, I just had it wired backwards facepalm
@cunning latch ^^
If possible. could I have some help? 😅 I'm having a little bit of an issue.
@worn mulch What's up?
So I set up el gato pretty well. Got it working with streamlabs OBS.
everything was fine. Until I turned off My switch. Now my second monitor (which is also the gaming monitor I just click a button on it and it switches inputs.)
Isn't getting detected by my pc as an extension.
So now... I'm here.
Spent 2 hours already googling for possible fixes.
One thing I would try is to see if your monitor works with your PC using the same input that the Switch/capture card is currently connected to.
it worked just fine before
legit. as soon as i set up the gato. it pooped.
still detects the gato but my pc doesn't detect the monitor
And if you disconnect the Elgato device?
my monitor doesn't detect the elgato. and it doesn't connect to any inputs.
my pc will just say that i only have one monitor.
Sometimes video drivers have trouble detecting a monitor being activated or reactivated via changing the input source on the monitor. Restarting the PC or unplugging it and plugging it back in helps solve that issue if you haven't tried it yet. Even though the issue started with plugging in a capture card, the capture card wouldn't interfere with the connection between your PC and that monitor. It would be an issue with input switching specifically with that monitor model and/or your video card drivers.
billy. I have the switch, xbox, and my pc running on one monitor. w.e. It's never had problems.
it's only begun after I set up el gato. I really wanna use My Elgato.
c: hence I'm here for solutions.
All we can do is ask questions and figure out what you have and haven't done. We don't know the specifics of your setup or what has worked in the past and what is just causing an issue now. That's the troubleshooting process.
What do you have plugged into your capture card currently? Is it just your game consoles going in and passing through to the monitor itself?
So, Atm. I have, A nintendo switch Plugged into the in section of the el gato.
I have the out going towards the monitor.
I ahve the usb plugged into my pc.
and my pc has a hdmi plugged into my monitor
So you have three devices connected to the monitor, on their inputs. PC is directly connected here. You didn't mess with any cables on the monitor itself, just connected the Elgato device in-line to where the Switch was connected to.
And a reboot of your PC didn't bring it back? What about disconnecting your PC from the monitor and connecting it to another port.
I just dealt with a similar situation like this today. Cable worked fine on one monitor and console, person moved it to another monitor didn't work. Then connected it back to the original monitor and it also stopped working.
What else had you tried when doing your googling?
correct.
I haven't tried anything because most working solutions involved downloading files. Which I won't trust unless well It's something from The company it's self.
But matching the problem I'm having I haven't found anything close.
it's usually just happened when it's gone from pc to pc.
Well there doesn't seem to be anything that would be caused by the Elgato device here. So your monitor has multiple HDMI ports? If you connect the PC to where the Switch was connecting to, still no dice?
Also were these files third party, or did you need anything from the Elgato team
I did try to swap em.
Hmm
they were third party
Alright, just confirming
Hey awesome people. Hoping I can get some tech help really quick with the audio on my capture card if possible?
Not downloading anything is the smart move. You said you swapped the ports but have you tried swapping the cables too?
Okay so I'm using obs and stream elements add on. I have everything hooked up but the audio isn't capturing and it isn't passing though.
Maybe an HDMI cable just died on you for some reason.
@worn mulch did you ever say if you performed a restart of your computer? That can clear up all sorts of odd behavior and should be one of the first things to try. If there was odd behavior with the video card not detecting screens.
@left trail Is audio coming through HDMI or Chat Link/Analog?
@left trail Which console and capture device are you using?
I did, But I guess I can retry it.
I'll give it a shot. I'll be back. @sharp agate @cunning latch Thank you regardless for the help.
The audio isn't coming through anywhere haha. I'm using a Nintendo Switch and Elgato HD60s
If it still doesn't help, perhaps the full support team will be able to come up with further ideas. http://e.lga.to/help
They're available in 10 Hours.
Using the usb 3.0 to plug into a laptop currently and hdmi to a TV
Are you using a headset with the Switch?
No
Just trying to do hdmi pass through
It should be coming through the TV but isn't for some reason. So I was just going to monitor through obs but that isn't working either. It isn't showing any sound through obs either
Anything in the Game Capture HD software?
Let me check
Weird. I close obs and it magically starts working. So what do I need to change in obs? Any idea?
Might not be OBS itself, but indirect behavior. Just double check it in Game Capture HD.
What am I double checking in game capture?
I would also recommend setting the capture device to Game Capture HD instead of the capture card itself to see if it works.
Just whether or not audio is coming through. If it was coming through on its own at one point, then that indicates it's not a setup issue.
It may be a matter of reinstalling drivers: https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961152-Elgato-Gaming-Hardware-Drivers, rebooting system. That can clear up plenty of problems.
I havent set it up on this laptop before I'll try drivers.
yeah didn't work ;-;
I'ma try other stuff.
@cunning latch @sharp agate I fixed it.
thank you for the help though. :D It led me in the right direction.
Nice. What ended up fixing it for you?
I had swapped it to my motherboard, and then ran bios. and forced it into being the main screen.
Then in settings I swapped it back to 1-2 instead of 2-1 (after i forced 2 into becoming 1.
If that makes sense.
I have to reinstall elgato capture now 😅
yupyup.all good now c: again thank you. goodnight I appreciate the helps.
Btw did the driver reinstall and restarted and it's working now. Thank you!
Nice!
I need tech help!
@devout gazelle What's up?
@sharp agate I’m getting ‘no signal” when I’m on my stream labs. I have a dual pc setup. Also I’m having a audio problem. My gaming pc has no option for “elgato sound capture” in my advanced settings on my elgato sound software.
You might have to walk me through your setup because there are many ways to do a two-pc streaming setup. Specifically, at which points is your gaming PC connected to your streaming PC. Are you also using a hardware audio mixer or routing any additional audio hardware or cables to get sound from one PC to the other?
so i had it setup a few days ago. but i forgot how to do it. i have a elgato HD60 pro. i have 1 hdmi connected from my GAMING PC's Monitor and idk which 2 slots to put it in. (in or out)
You'll want your gaming PC connected via HDMI through the port that's labeled "In" on your capture card. Then make sure you have a HDMI cable connected into the port labeled "Out" and have the other end go to your monitor.
i think its working but now my right monitor is off. my streaming monitor. im going to try and switch where my HDMI is placed on my streaming pc but i wont touch the Capture card pluggins. just get to get this monitor working
wait i think i got it @sharp agate
Whenever i stream to mixer through Elgato game caprure i have to deletr stored mixer account and readd / login to get it to work
Unfortunately I think that's a common issue for a lot of users.
And the current workaround is as you stated. You have to delete the stored account and re-add it.
Wish they would fix it
@sharp agate my elgato sound capture is like gone in my sound capture software. idk how to get it back
@sharp agate can i ss you?
@devout gazelle are you running dual monitors if so make sure it isnt opening on the other monitor
under my advanced settings, their isnt a option for my elgato sound capture.
I can't do screen share right now. On your gaming PC, make sure your default audio device is set to your video card's HDMI audio device.
So that would be these devices. Whichever one is active and enabled.
Or the AMD/Intel equivalent depending on where your HDMI port is plugged in with your gaming PC.
what if i accidently deleted one LMAO how do i get it back? @sharp agate one of the NVIDIA ONES
If you disabled it, you can right click the window and click "show disabled devices"
i put disable on one and it like disappeared
Then you can right click that device and re-enable it.
@sharp agate how many brains do you have? YOU'RE SO HELPFUL!
i have one more thing. whenever i have the playback on my blue yeti mic, it comes out of one of my monitors and my headphones.
Do you have the headphone jack on your Blue Yeti plugged into anything?
no i do not, i think i kinda solved it. i just turned my monitor down manually
It's a little bizarre, but I also believe that if it's not a problem, it's best not to try too hard to fix it otherwise you risk it becoming a bigger problem. 😛
@sharp agate i love you so much
Aww. Thank you.
Hopefully everything stays golden with your setup.
So, I just installed the Elgato HD60 Pro in my HP Omen 870-224. The card had to go in upside down if that's important, but the slots lined up. When I open Game Capture HD, it says something along the line of (no capture devices found. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Also, I should point out that the monitor hooked up to the HDMI cable in the out slot of the HD60 Pro isn't displaying the game.
@placid fern its your capture card here?
@rich parcel i use a virtual output
@hushed kindle Yep
It's connected, have a nvidia gtx 1060
try installing the drivers again https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961152-Elgato-Gaming-Hardware-Drivers
Alright, I'll try
also you could try test your capture card in the GPU's slot
@hushed kindle ty mate
no problem
hi, im trying to stream my switch through obs, but everytime i try to use my headphones the audio wont come through from the switch, any help?
im very desperate as i just bought the new fire emblem and really need help quickly
In the properties of your video capture source in OBS, you can change the Audio Output Mode so that the Switch's audio is played on your default playback device set in Windows. Pick whichever one seems to work best.
No problem.
Still having some weird issues with StreamDeck and OBS Studio. Whenever I try using Studio, and use my 'startup' multi-action, it crashes Studio, but runs fine with SLOBS. What's going on? OBS is at 23.2.1
Still have CPU usage in the 20% and above (when no signal) for Game Capture software on windows 10 64-bit updated windows insider and updated game capture HD
this CPU usage lags and stacks lagged frames for the longer I am receiving signal (the footage lags more and more behind with time)
This started happening about a week ago when I updated windows
I can hear my CPU fan when I'm seeing this.
I'm not able to replicate it, but I am also not on a Windows insider build either.
I'm not sure if you're able to roll back the update or not, but chances are that there was a change that the capture software will need an update for at some point in the near future.
Can't roll back the windows update but I might be able to opt out of insider
but there's a chance that might just delete my everythings
When using insider program builds, there's always the risk of software incompatibility and bugs. I know you get a free Windows activation if you're in the program, but it's really not recommended if you plan to use your PC as a daily driver and workstation.
But reporting that there is an issue is a good start. Unfortunately, to reduce the CPU load, you're either stuck rolling back the Windows update and dealing with whatever risks and drawbacks come with that or you're stuck waiting for an update either from Microsoft or Elgato.
Considering that people will eventually get this version of windows
someone's gotta do something
Something will probably happen, but there's no idea as to when it will happen.
@hidden jolt what does your multi-action command look like?
It has like 25 actions but it worked just fine till a couple weeks ago. Will need 2 screenshots one sec
(1 / 2)
(2 / 2)
@sharp agate
Does Studio just not open at all when you press the button or does it open and then crash later on in the process?
It opens then a few seconds later crashes
does not happen with SLOBS
If I run each item manually Studio runs fine, multi-action is what crashes it.
what exactly does this h.264 encoder do?
As obnoxious as it may seem, it would be best to try to build and test it slowly to find out which operation is causing the crash. So would erase all of the steps after "System: Open OBS Studio," test the multi-action function to see if it opens and operates normally, then close OBS (or all of the other programs), and then add the next step. Rinse and repeat until you hit the point where it breaks. You may want to just create a separate multi-action command starting with the OBS Studio just for an easier time testing.
And in what context and for what device, @somber frost?
i was looking for a capturing device and in the spec sheet it says the hd60 got this encoder but the hd60 s doesnt, instead it got the instant thingy
but the pro version got both of it🤔
ya may have too, just don't include the "go live" bit since I'm done for the night.
@sharp agate so how can someone benefit if they got both features or rather said what's the exact difference between the instant view and encoder? is it just that the encoder will lag?
or is there a special use for each of them?
Oof, I may have to stick with SLOBS. Studio is all of a sudden super laggy, 10 fps or so. Not sure what's going on there. (I used to be able to achieve 60 fps EASILY at Fast/Medium)
It's kind of a long, technically complex answer, but I'm going to give it my best shot, @somber frost
H.264 is one of a number of video compression standards. It's very commonly used because it's able to compress video to very small file sizes at what is considered an acceptable quality loss for most users. Compression is also incredibly important when uploading videos, playing back those video, and live streaming on the internet where bandwidth and storage is at a high premium. However, encoding and decoding in H.264 is computationally complex and there's a huge resource cost when it comes to system performance.
Technically anything with the ability and processing power to encode video can be called an encoder. Everyone has at least one encoder because a CPU can handle that task, but in a lot of cases you don't want your CPU doing long-term, continuous video encoding because the CPU needs a lot of resources to do it and the CPU has to do other tasks as well related to gaming and other tasks. Depending on your CPU, you may have a lot of headroom to spare and it's not a problem at all, but for those that don't have a super beefy CPU, offloading the encoding work to other devices, like a modern GPU through NVENC or AMF.
So in regards to a capture card, the ones with the H.264 encoders on them are able to record and store a video feed of your captured gameplay at a smaller file size without requiring a lot of overhead from the CPU. This is what makes Master Copy possible. Your CPU or GPU will still be responsible for encoding your live stream to Twitch, Mixer or Youtube, and that will still require overhead from either those devices based on which encoder you plan to use (software based x264 for your CPU or hardware based NVENC or AMF or QuickSync based on your GPU). What the HD60 Pro and HD60 can do is record a second version of your live stream at a higher quality setting and compress it at a smaller file size without taxing your CPU or GPU more while you're streaming.
You can also use the H.264 encoder on those capture cards to record your gameplay without a significant impact to your system too.
thank you for the response!
so if my cpu isnt that good i should rather get the hd60 s?
so what i understand so far is that without the h.264 u got less impact on your cpu but more on your brandwidth?
and storage i guesy if i cant compress them?
No. If you have a dedicated H.264 encoder, utilizing it will have less impact on your CPU. If you only plan to use the Game Capture HD software for all of your recording and streaming needs, then the H.264 encoder will get it's greatest value. However, if you plan to use OBS, Streamlabs OBS, Xsplit, or any other live streaming and recording software, it won't really do much as your CPU and/or GPU will still have to do most of the work encoding the entire gameplay session or stream. You can still utilize the dedicated encoder to do a separate recording while you stream with different quality settings, though.
Where the HD60 S shines is that it has a faster interface (USB 3.0 instead of USB 2.0) so Instant Gameview is supported. It's really useful if you don't have another display and plan to the game you're capturing through the capture window. Since there is less delay, it's also less hassle to ensure that everything is synced up in regards to your camera and audio.
i really appreciate your help! it helps me alot :D
Also, the reason why the pro versions have the Instant Gameview feature is because PCIe is faster than USB, therefore it can transmit the capture faster to your capture software.
Also, @hidden jolt Was there a reason you were switching over from SLOBS to OBS Studio? If SLOBS works, it works and there's no problem with that.
I prefer Studio 😛
Fair enough. I'm not really sure what's going on with Studio's frame drops though.
is there any way to get an HD60 pro to appear as an audio device on a PC?
I don’t think so. You can get audio playback through OBS or other software by changing the Audio Output Mode in the capture device source.
And that will playback the audio on your default sound device.
It is for the HDMI port like if you have a dual PC the gaming PC will see it as audio
I just set up my HD60 S today so I can stream Nintendo Switch games and I'm getting audio crackling.. Is there a fix?
OK, tired of searching for an answer. Time to ask directly. My OS is on a M.2 Nvme drive. My Elgato videos and EGC_Library (>500GB) are on a 1TB HDD. I have a 256GB SSD which used to hold my OS but now sits empty.
Is there any way to configure the Game Capture software to utilize the empty SSD drive as a 'scratch disk', where it uses it to hold the active capture and flashback recording, then move the recording to the (big/slow) HDD after the recording is finalized?
hello
@static wyvern If you click the gear icon at the top right of the Game Capture HD window, you can change the library location and file export location. You'll want to move the library location to your empty SSD and have the export location be on your HDD.
Hello I am trying to use my Sony a6000 as a webcam and I own an HD60 Pro. There are many videos of people doing this with the elgato Cam-Link with no issues. I spent two hours watching videos and diagnosing everytime i use OBS or Game Capture by elgato it says no signal found
I plugged my hdmi cable into my monitor just to be sure thats not the problem and I got a clean video feed after turning off my info display
but for some reason I cant get it to work with the HD60 Pro
@sharp agate Unfortunately, the Library is 218 GB and the SSD is 237 GB. I suppose i could delete anything already uploaded to YouTube to make some room. Thank you.
The export location is for converting the .ts files into .mp4 files, so the software won't move the files for you but rather make a new version of it in the specified location. Unfortunately, you'll have to manually move all of the .ts files to the HDD or delete them
Yes, i decided to finally go thorough and either delete them, or encode them then delete. From now on i will simply keep the Library clean and delete files the moment i am done with them. Thank you very much for your help.
@topaz fog The HD60 Pro and the Cam Link work a little differently as the Cam Link is designed to take an HDMI capture and convert it into something that Windows recognizes as a USB webcam. The other capture devices, like the HD60, HD60 S, and HD60 Pro, will need a little more setup.
A start would be to make sure you have the Game Capture HD software installed. In OBS, you'll want to make a Video Capture Device source and open properties. You'll want to set the device to "Elgato Game Capture HD" and click the "Configure Video" button. From there you can change the settings to match your device.
@sharp agate
Check my reddit post if u can
I got the game capture software already
i know how to use obs and did video capture device
opened properties and set stuff to what i think is correct
not sure what else to do other than just buy a cam link
i made sure to test teh camera with my monitor and it worked np
Set the Device to "Game Capture HD" if it's available instead of "Game Capture HD60 Pro (Video)(#1).
kk it is one sec ill try that
but wouldnt the game capture software have recognized it
even without this change?
yeah still
no singla
i tried using both software
I would literally pay someone if they got this working
because otherwise ima just spend 110$ on the cam link
any other ideas?
Trying to look up some leads. Have you tried disabling and re-enabling the Game Capture HD60 Pro in device manager?
yup did that
which is stupid that i have to do that in the firrstplace lol
but done that like 4-5 times with and wihtout restarting my computer
Are you using any adapters between the HD60 Pro and the a6500 or are you using a single micro HDMI to HDMI cable?
a6000* but works the same
nope
no adapters
just straight micro to hdmi cable
and i plugged it into my monitor
to make sure that the cable works fine
and it did
Are you able to use the capture card with another device? A second PC or a gaming console? It might help in order to diagnose if it is an issue with the card itself.
im gonna turn on my laptop and plug the hdmi out from laptop into the card
that should diagnose if the card is broken or working right?
It would probably indicate that something's up with it rather than it just being an incompatibility issue.
if it does work i should just assume incompatable and do cam link?
@sharp agate worked perfect
plugged my laptopt in
and card working fine
I can't speak with confidence on that one. Maybe there is a setting enabled on the camera that is causing issue with the capture card. Maybe there is a setting we are overlooking within the device settings.
I looked into camera settings and spent an hour on that
but nothing exists that i can see
and did tons of research on the camera and nobody else changes settings
only thing i cna think of is its not compatable or like u said some setting
but at this point
im atleast 3 hours deep
thinking of giving up and getting cam link
You may have already come across this, but in case you haven't, there was another person having an issue with the camera and the cam link and said
Nevermind, I just had to switch it to Movie Mode and click the button to take a picture and now it works.
yeah tried
switched it to movie mode
and used the record button and tried so many different modes
btw
I really appreciate you
and everything u have done for me
I wish I could have been more helpful, but at least the capture card is at least functional even if it doesn't work with your camera. I also feel like if it was an incompatibility, there would be more posts about it too. The a6000 seems very popular. You'd think something would pop up.
but i feel that more people are using a cam link
and like nobody is using the hd60 pro
im a computer nerd and I dont like USB devices and wanted a pcie card
so went with this sone
but i guess i made the wrong choise
The Cam Link is a more affordable, accessible option, but the HD60 Pro is still a very popular capture card.
well thanks bud appreciate yah
see yah!
@sharp agate actually one last question do u know if the hd60 pro is picky about the file types
like the camera can do a few different file types
I can do AVCHD
XAVC S
and MP$
MP4
shit
that was it
got it
❤
gotta have it set to AVCHD
Yeah, I was going to say.
jesus
It may also work with MP4 too. Both AVCHD and MP4 are H.264.
hmmm stopped working agian lol
I guess not.
Make sure any power saving mode is off too.
You may want a dummy battery if you don't have one already. That will allow you to have your camera always receive power from an outlet without killing the real battery from being plugged in all of the time.
yeah i am gonna order that and i guess people have tips for stopping it from over heating
like pulling out the screen and leaving the battery flap open
I wish i knew more aboiut cameras but im going to now
lol
the only other setting i dont know about is this recording setting
says like 60i 24m
60i 17m
60p 28m
like FX
or FH
but ill figure that out
That's resolution and bitrate.
So 60 FPS interlaced at 17 Mbps.
Or 60 FPS progressive at 28 Mbps.
so would the 60P and 28M would be best option
60fps progressive and 28mbps
1080p and 1080i i c
60p 28m would give better quality. If you have any delay issues, try the interlaced option.
kk
But you probably won't need to use any interlacing.
damn not working again*
Well, at least we know the solution won't be expensive. 😛
nope and i just tried changing it to mp4
and restarted camera and computer
disabled the driver and renabled it
hmm
i should be using a 16:9 aspect ratio correcT?
not 3:2
Yeah. It should be 16:9.
I would think the capture card would just grab the HDMI preview from the camera. I am not sure if the file type would really effect things.
well now i know not to recommend the hd60 pro for camera capture
weird that i cahnged it to avchd and it worked
then timed out because of power savings mode
now wont come back on
after i fixed everything
Changing the file type may change the preview format, so that may be what fixed it. Was it on XVAC by default?
yeah
Yeah, that's Sony's codec.
Hi! Having trouble connecting Twitch to my HD60 Pro. I click add account, sign in and authorize, but it stays stuck on this screen
Doesn't add the account, so I can't stream
I am getting the same issue on my end. The web browser used for the sign-in may be Internet Explorer based. IE may be the issue.

Sadly I don't know of a workaround. You can still use a program like OBS Studio or Streamlabs OBS to stream with your capture card, though.
i think i found the answer
https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030990772?input_string=cannot+connect+to+twitch+account
ill try it
That will probably do it, and it's a very recent update too.
heeey it worked
Same here. I think they did move from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge. I'm just going by how the scroll bar looks, though.
hey, anyone on to help with a tech issue?
What's up @zinc knot?
having the worst trouble in the world getting my PS4 recognized through my 4k60pro
I've used it before, on streamlabs obs. I unhooked my PS4 about 2 months ago, decided to hook it back up for stream. Now I'm getting a mix between no signal and just a black screen
HDCP on PS4 is turned off
Have you checked your capture card settings in case they reset since the last time you used your PS4 with the card?
you mean update the 4k Capture Utility?
Updating the software would also be a good idea if you haven't.
In Streamlabs OBS, if you go to the properties of your Video Capture Device source, you can click on "configure video" for specific configuration options for the device.
I'm not sure what that window will look like for the 4k60pro, but with other cards it will give an option for various consoles. It may do the same here.
is there a setting i'm missing on PS4 other then the HDCP?
the properties are Bypass, Shrink, or expand
under video standard should it be NTCS_M?
under 4k capture utility and Video Capture HD it just shows a black screen or no signal as well
It should be NTSC vs PAL is based on region. If you're in NA, use NTSC.
would you mind doing a screen share on here and take a look at my settings?
In Game Capture HD, click that gear icon.
fast3ddy and I are hitting a bit of a roadblock with his issues with the 4k60 Pro. He's getting audio but just a black screen or a "no signal" message for video within the 4K Capture Utility. His PS4 has HDR and HDCP turned off and the capture card has the same issue with his laptop connected to the capture card. If anyone has any insight on this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pass through on his 4K60 Pro also works.
Hello, i have a little probleme with my Elgato HD60S Game Capture, i don't have any sound of my nintendo switch When i connect my hd60s. if i you the sames hdmi with out the HD60S it's okey... any ideas ?
What software are you using to capture your Switch? Also, are the audio meters in that software detecting the audio from the Switch and you just can't hear it or are you getting nothing at all?
i use streamlabs obs
i used it cause all my scenes is on it
i don't have any sound on my computer ( with streamlabs ) and i don't have any sound on my tv screen
it'w weird
^^
Okay, that might be an issue with the audio settings on the Switch or with the capture card if you're not getting audio on your TV as well.
when i don't use the capture card, i have the sound. i don't have it when i connect the capture card only.
i tryed with an other usb port for the capture card and it's the same
You can right click your capture card in your sources and click "Properties". Then click "Configure Video" and make sure the audio dial at the very bottom isn't set to 0.
but i got the video all the time, the screen is ok ^^
ok i try
Ok great ! streamlabs obs got the sound of my switch ! thx
BUT ^^ i don't hear it for my part
Ok ! it work ! i find it
So in the properties of the card, you'll see a drop down menu for "Audio Output Mode" You'll want to pick "Output Desktop Audio (DirectSound)" to get the Switch to play through your computer's default playback device:
Oh nice!
Happy to help.
hello everyone ^^
so I have a weird issue with the streamdeck, I hope I am in the right place?
I try to play some memes (mp4 files) on my stream. When I set up everything it works fine, but as soon as I close the streamdeck program, the files don't play anymore?
Is it possible to seek YouTube videos from Stream Deck. Basically I have YouTube playing in Chrome and an IDE on the screen. When I'm on IDE I can use the media key to play/pause YouTube but I wanted to know if I can scrub like going forward/backward 10 seconds in YouTube without leaving my IDE.
Anyone know how to use my HD60 pro to screen share gameplay to Discord? Been trying to do it for a while but am confused if I'm doing it right. The device shows up as HD60 Pro video#01 but I'm not even sure if that's correct.
@gaunt flint I have a similar issue due to the fact that I have the default audio device for the Stream Deck software assigned to something other than my system default playback device. What works for me is opening up the Windows Sound Settings, going to the bottom and clicking "Advanced sound options," changing the master output to the device that I want Stream Deck to output from, playing the sound clip and checking to see if the Stream Deck software comes up properly and is set to the right device, and then I switch the master output back to my desired default playback device. I have to do this every boot and reboot. You'll also have to restart the Stream Deck software before you go through these steps.
@south bronze I think you have to have the Chrome tab playing Youtube in focus in order to scrub through the video timeline via key bindings. The Streamkeys Chrome extension helps give some extra global hotkey functionality for Youtube, but it doesn't support the option that you want. 😦
@fallow knoll One way that works for me is to have the Game Capture HD software running and go to into your Discord settings, Game Activity, and look for the text toward the top that says "Not seeing your game? Add it." Click "Add it" and look for the Game Capture HD software within the drop down menu and add it. Now when you screen share, this should be an option as an available monitor. Within the Game Capture HD software, you can right click the main preview for the option to have the application run in full screen. If you right click it again while in full screen, you'll have the option to hide the side bar so the screen share capture is clean.
You won't get the capture audio with this method, unfortunately. You'll need to find a way to mix in the audio output that is playing back your capture card's audio with your microphone while also removing the audio from Discord from said mix and isolating it to another device that you can still hear.
@sharp agate I tried again using my Mac (Earlier I was on PC). While on Mac adding Multimedia action gives me option to add “Rewind/Fast Forward” as well. In Safari I’m able to Fast forward but not Rewind. Later I add the YouTube url to VLC and I’m now able to do both Rewind/Fast Forward.
Awesome. I know the main downside is that it's a few more extra steps to play a video stream through VLC instead of just through a web browser itself, but if it's a long piece of media it's probably not too much of a bother.
And there might be a script or a plugin that allows you to play Youtube playlists in VLC so you can have a longer watch session while you work and still have easy scrubbing functionality with the Stream Deck.
@sharp agate But I’m not able to replicate it in Windows 10 PC though. I don’t have a Physical Stream Deck so, I was just trying out this software based Stream Deck before making the purchase.
Windows version of Stream Deck doesn’t have Rewind/Fast Forward action. And VLC need to be in focus to be controlled.
@sharp agate Thanks very much for the quick response. Unfortunately the Elgato software isn't accessible at all with screen readers, not in any meaningful way to actually use its functions efficiently. Therefore if I can get discord to pick it up without having to do anything, say, with it working as a standard device sharing the output directly, that would be much less frustrating.
Which software based Stream Deck are you using? Stream Deck Mobile?
Or is it something from a third party?
hey, I have a streamdeck and I just receive a stream deck mini. When the streamdeck mini is on sleep, I still see icons with very low brightness. do you guys know why?
hello so i have just got a elgato hd60 s and i am trying to stream mario maker 2 on my switch but when i but it in streamlabs obs there is no sound can somebody help?
@smoky ocean I'm not really sure why. It could be a firmware issue where the sleep mode only dims the screen instead of turning off completely. It could be a device limitation where the screen is incapable of turning off without being disconnected. With a lot of modern motherboards, USB power wills till be provided to the device even while the system is shut down. If you're worried about the potential for burn in, I'd recommend either disconnecting the Stream Deck Mini while it's not in use and/or taking a look at your motherboard's manual and BIOS/UEFI power management settings to see if there is a setting to disable USB power while the computer is shut off.
@vocal saddle Are you just not hearing audio playback or is the audio not capturing at all? You can look at your audio meters in Streamlabs to see if there is any activity.
i think the audio is not capturing at all but i hear a echo of my voice @sharp agate
@sharp agate Yes, thats why Ive change the usb in my usb hub (same as the streamdeck) and still have the issue. I think i'm gonna refund it..
@vocal saddle If your video capture source device is set to "Elgato Game Capture HD," you can click the "Configure Video" button in the source's properties. From there, you'll want to make sure that the "with Analog Audio" box is unchecked and that the volume dial at the bottom isn't turned all the way down.
@smoky ocean I know other people have reported the same behavior on the Mini. On the medium-sized Stream Deck, the screen turns off while in sleep mode. If you're returning the Mini and If you can find the medium-sized one used or on sale for a good price, I'd recommend buying that if you would still like to use a Stream Deck. Otherwise you can wait and see if there is a fix for the Mini at some point.
@sharp agate it did not work 😦
Were you still able to see if those options were set correctly though? Also, just to be sure since you're only asking about audio, are you getting video playback still?
yes the optons where set correctly and i am geting playback
Another thing to test would be the Audio Output Mode in the video capture device source properties. Setting it to "Capture audio only" will just capture the sound in Streamlabs OBS without playing it back. You can try changing it to one of the "Output Desktop Audio" options to see if that works. You can either use DirectSound or WaveOut, but most have better success with DirectSound.
It worked thanks!! @sharp agate
@sharp agate Is it possible that Discord would allow me to screenshare directly, just via the HD60 pro and I'm not doing something right?
Everytime I turn on my PC, my Streamdeck is always frozen, I have to open the program where you customize everything to make the streamdeck function, any reason why on this??
@fallow knoll I can try to test a few more methods in a bit, but I know adding Game Capture HD to the game activity list and screen sharing that way works for me. The only other option would be to set the HD60 Pro as your webcam device but if it doesn't work within Discord, there might not be anything you can do to get it to work with that method.
@blissful shard The software is required to use the Stream Deck. You'll want to make sure it runs at start up. It should just minimize to the system tray.
@sharp agate Thanks for the assist, could you DM me those instructions for the alternative method? It's something I can look into with sighted assistance when I'm next at my streaming rig, unless Elgato make the software accessible first, which would be brilliant.
I do not think Discord can just take a video capture device's output directly without some other form of software to make it possible. I don't know for sure why, but I think it has to do with the format of the video capture and how that format is just incompatible with what Discord expects a webcam output should be. As a tangent, this is also why a Cam Link is the product of choice if you plan to a camera that is not a webcam for webcam tasks. The device is designed to convert the video capture from the camera's preview into something that windows can detect as a usable webcam.
You can either use the Game Capture HD software in the way I outlined above or there might be another software you can use. I know there is plugin for OBS-Studio that allows you to take the output of OBS and have it work as a webcam output that can be used by Discord (OBS-VirtualCam), but that still requires you going through software instead of just having a direct capture and it doesn't seem like it's been updated in almost a year.
Though definitely feel free to DM me or ping me here if you have questions or need assistance with getting the Game Capture HD set up for screen sharing on Discord.
Hello. I'm a new Stream Deck user and need some help. I just built several counters through AHK and everything is woking fine. But due to some setup issues, I would like to see the numbers of those counters on the screen deck.
Is there any plug-in allowing to do that?
(each counter is a .txt file with a 1 or 2 digit)
Discord's screenshare goal isnt pointed at dedicated streaming really, which is why it doesn't detect other devices currently. It costs them a lot of money to do screenshare as it is, and its limited to 720p60 or 1080p30 cause of that
My own experience with OBS Virtual Cam with Discord is very meh. I get much better frames and performance when its just attached to the application on my gaming pc with no real performance loss
have you tried setting your "webcam" to the capture card?
not screen share but webcam of the gods
I've only seen that just be a black screen on Discord, though I run the Canary build of Discord.
It's the same for me and I am not on Canary.
Its probably not expecting 50MB or w.e of bitrate hitting that
Or is expecting an entirely different video format, like MJPEG.

worked with both the 4K60 PRO and HD60 PRO
ill test with a laptop instead of a camera now
Yeah I only have usb capture so maybe that?
SightlessKombat is using the HD60 Pro and is encountering similar issues.
That makes sense.
hdcp should not happen from a computer tho....
hmmm
thats like ps4 netflix stuff
But I wasn't able to get it to work on my laptop either.
discord flipped it

ʍou uʍop ǝpᴉsdn ǝɥʇ uᴉ ǝɹnoʎ
Also, @fickle meadow by default, the Stream Deck can't take a value from a text file and display it on the button itself. There is a plugin in that you can use called "Stream Counter" from Barraider that will give you the functionality that you want. 👍
Will that plug in allow me to manage 4 counters (with increase and decrease option) ?
You can manage multiple counters, but there is unfortunately no decrease option. 😦
in that case this isn't going to help me unfortunately
As for the Discord capture, I have no idea why I can't get it to work. It works fine with OBS and Game Capture HD.
I'm just testing it with a laptop.
Ah, I got it to work. Just make sure all other capture software is turned off and that Discord is the only software using the device. I also have the same problem with the output being mirrored, but Discord may mirror it just to give a video preview that is familiar. It's not uncommon for camera previews to be mirrored, like how it is on front-facing phone cameras.
My laptop is my streaming pc
My laptop is something that is still running Windows 7 and is now 8 years old. I rarely use it, though.
Win 10 on mine. I'm not too concerned about it not working on my laptop as I can just use discord on my gaming pc with maybe 1-3fps loss
And yeah, you most likely won't be able to use the capture card with any other device at the same time if you plan to use it with Discord in this way.
I remember when I was a novice to all of this stuff, I thought I could use an ultrabook as a streaming PC back in, like 2013. I thought, "it has an i7, it should be good" without really understanding that there are dual-core versions of i7 processors and that most ultrabooks used a dual core CPU. Also not really understanding how mobile skews were not equal to their desktop counterparts.
I'm just glad that Amazon had/has a good return policy so I could try that kind of stuff and not lose out on so much money.
Of course now the gap between desktop and mobile parts is so thin. It's really awesome to see.
Mhm, I currently use last years Razer Blade 15. Does the job fine, just hot and a little noisy, though cant hear it at all on stream
I mean, I am hot and a little noisy too on a summer day. 🥁
how can i do this
@final bobcat Not possible, the HD60 S has red and white LEDs only
@sharp agate Sup buddy!
Hey @bold ember you know much about using camlink and a camera as a webcam?
im kinda stuck
Sooo the past two days, my HD60s makes the dissconnect sound while I am streaming from Xbox, turning my gaming monitor black as if I am resetting it, then turns back on and is fine, however, the elgato video capture on my streamlabs is frozen. When I redo the video capture device for my elgato for the xbox, it then freezes up my webcam, and then I have to re do that as well
what is causing my HD60s to just cut out like that during my streams , it has never done that before
If I had to guess, it would be the USB connection, either an issue with the cable or an issue with the port. That or something is up with your USB controller. Easiest thing first is to just try a different USB 3.0 port.
But yeah, a capture device disconnecting can really cause some funky problems while streaming and recording.
@topaz fog Any luck with your camera tonight?
Im extremely pissed.
I just got a Streamdeck with 15 keys 30min ago.
And noticed that the middle row isn't working.
Tought it was just me setting things up wrong, but after further inspection they don't work at all.
That seems like a defective product.
Talked to Amazon support, replacement is on their way. And until it arrives I still can use my broken one and send it back when I got the new one.
Hopefully that will be the last of your issues. The 15 key deck that I have works great and hopefully you get the same experience.
I hope as well.
I have 30 days to send back the broken one.
So, dual Streamdeck time?

It does work. For me, I am almost out of USB ports.
Same actually.
So even if I had a second Stream Deck, I wouldn't be able to use it.
I got 3 ports left on my mobo.
If I wouldn't have broken my internal USB headers on my mobo for the case ones I would have 2 more
If it was a USB 3.0 header, those connectors are so bad.
So rigid and heavy. It's not uncommon to destroy some pins.
Yeah, I had them really akwardly angeled to hide the cable as much as possible and broke off one of the pins in the header. I kept getting "usb over current" error when starting my pc which was a pain since I was unable to start the pc for a week. Then managed to start it once and disabled just in case both the internal ports.
@shut pulsar you just break everything you touch
@rustic eagle exactly.
So I’m hearing conflicting opinions on the internet but can the Canon 70D work with the camlink 4K or not? I’m trying to figure that out before I sell my canon 70d.
Also perhaps a recommendation for a cheap replacement that can work with the cam link pls 😊
From what I can, you need 3rd party software to make it work, and seems very buggy at best.
As for a recommendation, like a few others here have also said, I am biased towards Sony's mirrorless line, but they all support clean HDMI out in the settings. Cheapest is the Sony a5100. 1080p60 and flip up screen for viewing from the front
waits for amazon to miss price the A6000 again
waits for amazon to have
on sale again
so I have an hd60s and anytime i speak into my mic, my voice gets sent back into my headset. I use a mac with MacOS Mojave 10.14.5 I have looked everywhere to try and find a solution to this and come up with nothing. Its irritating when I'm streaming and I'm talking then have to stop talking cause I lose my train of thought. any help to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Also my card is connected to a PS4
@half sphinx thanks ! Time to put my canon on sale so I can buy a Sony then
@grizzled basin are you connecting your headset to the PC or console?
the pc. cause if i connect it to my console the game audio wont go into the stream
Well if it's a 3.5 mm wired headset, the indirect solution is the Chat Link to let you connect the headset to your controller.
You're hearing yourself because the software previews all audio from the card and microphone. You can disable this, but you'll lose game audio being played back.
So switching to using the headset on the controller would be the way forward.
This is how i have it setup. I have a blue snowball connected to the console for chat. I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 connected to the mac (till I have to charge the laptop then change to the audio jack) then i use the built in webcam for the stream chat audio.
if that gives any insight on if it changes anything
I do not. 😭
lmk if you know anyone who does
i jjust got one and a cam lin
cant get it working
think its some weird camera setting
im like 8 hours into this
Do you have it on video mode?
yup
i plugged in an hdmi cable into my monitor and it shows up after i like turn the camera on and off and change it to movie monde
i know the port and cable work
So is it just black screen?
when i plug it into my monitor direct it works fine
when i plug into cam link
with obs i get nothing or black screen
with game capture hd it says no signal
u own an a6000?
I'm testing one out currently for my own Stream. Is cam link in a usb 3.0? Not a separate hub?
i actually own an hd60 pro
and a cam link
both arent working
so yeah cam link usb 3.0
direct into computer
and with the extension cable
And the micro-hdmi to camera? Let me see what I can find out as to why its not registering
yeah i have followed every guide and video out there
and honestly spent 8 hours
without exagerating
Micro hdmi to hdmi cable into cam link
i swear im just missing some camera setting
because i polugged a laptop into the hd60 pros and cma link
and it showed up perfectly
Very odd the monitor picks it up but not the capture
If you hit play on the camera does it show your pictures? Just curious is its just not showing anything or just the live feed
what u mean
i can never get obs to see anything
if i hit p[lay on camera while its plugged in
So if you have an SD card in it and you hit play, it should show your images on that card
the camera will play videos i recorded but obs and game capture dont see a signal
yeah
but not on your screen just on the camera?
correct
if i plug the cable into my monitor and hit play it will play videos
no problemm
but through cam link or hd 60 pro i get nothing
here is the weirdest thing
it worked for 1 min with my hd 60 pro when i changed the format from XAVCS to AVCHD i celebrated and power savings mode kicked in
hasnt worked since
then i bought the cam link cause i gave up with the card
so im like 600-700$ deep into this setup
with no luck
If you change it back it still will not work? I assume you also tried to reformat the camera
correct
on both
today i reset settings to factory
and played with it and got nothign
i was hoping someone could show me there settings
on their a600
see if something isnt right with mine
So when I use mine (but I run it on SLOBS which should be similar enough) I have it run on movie mode and file format is XAVC S. There's also an article on the settings so let me check that. It is strange since I'm running that same set up and works fine
im wondering if the camera is traight up likle broken
i dunnno thats what everyone says they dont do anything special it just works
Recommended settings (With 1080p60 input)

When using Cam Link to capture video as well as audio, there may be no audio captured. To fix this, there are two methods:
Capture HDMI audio from Cam Link...
Have you tried rebooting the camera while its plugged into the capture?
googling like crazy I've never heard of this issue
60p 50M
@signal musk do you use the extension cbale the cam link cam with or no
dunno if that matters
I do. Do you happen to have another camera you can test with? I assume you've tried different ports and all that. How long ago did you purchase the camera?
well since the camera is hard to get ahold of new i got one used
had it for a month
no other cameras to try
i took a video of my settings hoping you could look at it and see if they match yours
one sec
thats my obs settings
that is a video of my camera settings
sry gf walked in during video
so just mute it lol
I use StreamLabs but here are my settings
camera settings looked the same as mine
I've also seen rec. for
Resolution: 1920x1080
FPS: 59.94
Format: YUY2
it obs? because it wont let me change format or fps to that
i wonder if the camera is just broken
really frustrating
StreamLabs OBS. Might want to try it in there just to see if it makes a difference.
It could also be the camera since it's not working on either devices. I'll look into this more and see if I can replicate the issue tonight.
the weird thing is i can get it to pop up on my monitor
it doesnt do it right away like sometimes i have to unplug the cable and re plug it
or turn camera on and off
this is a video of what it does
So i just plugged it into my monitor and nothing works now it could be because the monitor but if i play with it a little like telling monitor to go to hdmi 2
turning camera on and off or unplugging and replugging cable
it works
So even with the HDMI plugged into the HD60 pro - nothing. deactivate, activate, nothing.
correct
spent 6 hours with hd60 pro and gave up with it
bought a cam link yesterday
and im like 3-4 hours into it with that
I wonder if your HDMI port on the camera might be messed up
and nothing
thats what im wondering too
can you tell me if u plug your camera into a monitor does it work right away?
like instantly?
If it's giving you issues through your monitor as well that could be it. Can you still game capture through the HD60 pro?
i plugged my laptops hdmi out into the hd60 pro and cam link and t worked perfectly
Yea came through right away
do you just turn on the camera and have it in movie mode
press no buttons and it works?
Yea I just changed my hdmi from the cam link to the monitor and turned it on and it showed right away
hmmmm
fuck me
well ima get another cable today
and try that
maybe its the hdmi port
Well, we know it works based on your laptop
which is crazy frustrating
Hopefully its not your computer hdmi port
could you get a clear pic of the cameras hdmi port?
I'd say if it worked just fine on your laptop it might be the computer one
Only thing I did with the laptop was plug hdmi out into the cam link and that worked
I also switched my camera over to AVCHD and it changed nothing
But I just took the micro hdmi cable from camera into hdmi into my monitor and turned camera on in movie mode and get nothing
This morning I got it to work pluggin it into my monitor but not right away
So either cable, or camera I think
Sorry to jump in, are you plugging this into another computer and testing with a laptop?
If the other computer isn't reading it and the laptop is check to see if you can update the HDMI ports through the device manager?
That would be my only thought reading through most of this.
What do you mean. All I been doing is plugging camera into the cam link and into a monitor to see if the cable or hdmi port is the problem.
What I did with my laptop was plug a regular hdmi cable from the laptop into the cam link or hd60 pro
It sounded to me like you were plugging into a second computer, I was a little confused, sorry.
To make sure the card and cam link work
ahhhh, I misunderstood.
And obs shows them perfectly
No problem
I appreciate all help and opinions I can get
Super frustrating to buy a camera and for streaming
And two different elgatos
Yeah, I kept thinking maybe there is an HDCP issue, I know I have to turn that off my PS4 when I want to stream games with HD60s
I don't think that's what's happening.
But not getting any luck
Yeah I thought that too but that’s not it
I guess ima gonna contact the person I bought it from and buy another cable today
That's such a bummer, I hope it's just a simple cable solution.
@topaz fog in OBS Studio, open the HD60 Pro source properties, then click on configure. That will bring up a driver panel that has the input ionfo
with the camera connected, does the input signal show anything, like 1920x1080?
Me too otherwise I’m screwed. I guess it’s the downside to buying used cameras but people use hdmi ports so little didn’t think that would be the issue
Lemme check here sorry need a minute to plug the hd60 pro back in
Took it out when I was using the cam link today
okay doing this now
@bold ember
its a little shakey
its a little blurry since more light coming into my room
sorry
it never lists 1920x1080
if thats what u meant
If the capture card is working otherwise then that would suggest the HDMI cable or camera isnt working
yeah thats what i think i ended up at
gonna try a new cable today and some other monitors at work
otherwise if that doesnt work i think it has to be the hdmi port on the camera
Keep us updated - hopefully its just the cable
I work at a micro center and work shortly here so i will post within the next hour i think
i got p[leny of cables and screens to try there
it seems really odd that it would be the port
wonder how often ports dont work on cameras
Could technically try out a camera on display 👀
we dont have any good camers on display
but at this point if
my monitor isnt picking it up easily
gotta be cable or camera
it should just be plug and go
hmm this sseems weird
dunno if cables matter that much but we wiull see
THANKS EVERYONE
will keep you updated
Good luck.
3 days into this project and I am so hopeful itss a cable
lol
to spend this muich time and its the cable would be shitty but better than the port being the issue
Noice
later best of luck!
I think it was the cable
I just got a different cable found a random monitor
Plugged it in turned on the camera and it went
But does it work with the capture devices? 🤞
Don’t know exactly yet but it was this easy before. I’m at work till later tonight and I will for sure know tonight
I didn’t think it was the cable because I had gotten it to work but I think it was
Kinda crazy
So I’ll report tonight with it working
Hopefully and I’ll test both the hd60 pro and the cam link
having some questions about the Elgato HD60 S, I am trying to use the Elgato HD60 S for my dual pc setup. currently I have done a couple things but i still have questions: why do i get black screen if I alt+tab. do I really need to clone my monitors to make the capture work, or are there other options. why does my game sometimes crash mid game or freezes. can someone help me to check if I did it right or/and help me set it up correctly?
Black screen while alt+tab is due to a game being in fullscreen only. Tabbing out usually either turns the screen black and/or freezes the game until you click back into it..
You dont need to clone/mirror you monitor unless your monitors refresh rate (Hz) is higher than 60. You only need to clone/mirror if you want 1080p120+ Hz on your main monitor for example
As for a game crashing/freezing, not sure as I don't know what game it is, but most likely not caused by the HD60 S
alright, gotcha, so there is no other way to make monitor capturing work then cloning if you want 144hz?
its in all games that I have played today, it freezes for about 5 sec...
correct for the 144hz and cloning. Many streamers clone so they can have super high refresh rate like 240hz and stream out to 60fps
As for the games, really unsure what could cause that. Make sure your drivers are up to date and maybe to a clean install of them again. The cloning or the HDMI from the capture to monitor wouldnt cause those issues. Would be different if it was just the monitor from the output of the HD60 S lagging, but if its the game its something related to the gaming PC
odd issue with my streamdeck XL, have a theory but can't confirm it just yet. It had stopped reacting to me switching applications (I have a few profiles set up that it should auto-switch to if specific programs come up). Restarting fixed the issue, but it worked fine yesterday - only thing I can think of is that I logged out of (instead of restarting) my machine overnight? Mac OSX Sierra (yeah, they keep us a few versions back here), latest SD software
There was a recently released Nvidia hotfix. I know some WoW players were reporting crashes after having updated to 431.60. There may be similar issues in other games too:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4844
@vale ocean Does restarting the Stream Deck program fix the issue or does only restarting the whole system work?
Edit: Tested it on Windows 10 with the 15 key Stream Deck (so grain of salt and all). I wasn't able to replicate the behavior, but also keep in mind that automatic profile switching doesn't work unless the Stream Deck software is running. It may take a moment for it to start up upon login before the functionality becomes available.
thx, yeah it only started happening when I started using the Elgato with the cloning, like sometimes when I alt+tab, and i close for example my spotify, it just freezes, both audio as video
@sharp agate yeah tried restarting the streamdeck app, no luck. Checked permissions (mac os requires that you set a program as 'allowed to interact with user interface' or some such)
Never had the issue with my 15 key streamdeck, but that was a slightly older version of the software too
And it's probably a case where you can't roll back far enough without losing Stream Deck XL support, right?
And it might be something fixed in High Sierra or Mojave, but you're still stuck on Sierra. That's just a bummer.
But at least it's not terribly debilitating as it only affects application-based profile switching.
Also be sure that the Stream Deck window is closed. Auto Switching is temporarily off when the window is visible.
If a restart continues to fix it, I'll just restart every night instead of logging out
As to the stream deck window... it automatically closes whenever I go to another application (at least on mac)... Or at least, it used to
@cunning latch nope that was it! Guess it was hiding in the background somewhere, and I have to actively close the window
thanks!
maybe it didn't used to disable autoswitching?
It not switching while the window is open makes sense. You don't want a profile to switch on you while you're editing it.
Oh sure, but if the window is open and then I click away from it so it's now in the background... I donno, I guess I expect it to not effect things if it's not focused
It was a change I believe in 4.2 or 4.3. Was designed to stop it from switching when people were working.
yeah, think I went from either 4.01 or 4.1 to 4.3.whatever yesterday
Though there has been some questions about that since then from users who were used to the behavior already
while I'm here I'd also love to be able to copy/paste groups of buttons, instead of one at a time >.>
Like selecting multiples at once?
Yeah, so if I select three buttons in a row horizontally, I'd paste over three horizontal buttons
To be honest I don't need it THAT much but sometimes I want to move a chunk of buttons from one profile to another
If possible, maybe it could just be an option in the general settings to enable/disable automatic profile switching while the program is visible. I prefer it the current way personally.
It's been discussed to at least make it more obvious about this behavior.
As for doing multiple keys, I can add that as a feature request.
Any trouble shoot advice when using 2 monitors to 1 pc
hey guys - new here and having a weird problem. I have a two PC setup. My broadcasting rig has been running no GPU and the Elgato HD 60 Pro with no unexpected problems up until today when I installed a new GPU in to the broadcast rig and the gaming rig. Both installations went off without a hitch but now the broadcast PC isn't recognizing the HD60 Pro at all - not in device manager, OBS, Game Capture HD, etc. etc - but the gaming PC is. When I send a cable from the gaming rig GPU to the Elgato, the Elgato will show up in my display properties but it doesn't exist according to the broadcast rig. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, rolling back to an older version of Game Capture HD, switching cables, switching ports, all kinds of stuff. Sorry for the wall of text but I'm at my wit's end and thanks in advance
@sharp agate @signal musk @bold ember
it was the cable
got it working perfectly today
plug and play
jesus
Yay!
4 days later lol
Awesome!!
It didn't seem like it was the cable at first, but I guess it was just on its last leg or something.
brand new cable
but it was a 15ft cable
and was 35$
came in an older package though
so happy
appreciate all of yuo
im so glad it timed olut this way i got the next two days off
and gonna stream all day next two days
feel free to come check it out twitch.tv/therenfox
got my batter ppower adapter coming tomorrow
so hype
I really want to use my old monitor for chat and my new one for steaming :/
I think I might need an hdmi to display port adapter :(
@wanton shuttle I had to grab one as well for my second monitor. I think they're fairly cheap?
Either an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter or an HDMI to DisplayPort cable will work.
I believe due to how Displayport is designed, this will be an active adapter. So it will be more expensive and need power, maybe USB port.
I think it depends on what resolution and refresh rate you're looking for.
Also adapters and cables don't transmit bi-directionally. You'll just have to shop around and make sure you get something that's compatible with what you need. It's important to read the spec sheets for what's out there.
Yeah I only have 1 pc and 2 monitors
Ppl with a steaming pc thought of this lol
But I hope to use one monitor for chat and the other for gameplay
How many digital video outputs (HDMI or DisplayPort) do you have on your PC?
Do your monitors have HDMI only or Displayport as well?
And then what's the max resolution and refresh rate your monitor supports?
i got the asus pg279qz today
so 165hz
and 1440p
im currently trying to set up elgato
but im having issues
You should just be able to use a normal displayport cable for tha tone.
yeah, im still calibrating it
but as for the old monitor i can plug into the hdmi port left on the gpu
only problem is that i cant record gameplay unless i clone the display :/
external so the hd60s
The HD60S doesn't have a h.264 encoder so for a single PC setup you wouldn't need to use the capture card.
@untold stone Did you ever get your HD60 to be seen by your broadcasting rig?
That would be better. There's no performance difference since your CPU or GPU will have to do all of the encoding anyway. You can set up a game capture source pretty easily within both versions of OBS.
oh nice
And you can use the capture card if you ever get a secondary PC you wish to stream from or a gaming console or want to use a higher quality camera as a face cam.
@half sphinx not yet, no
what other PCI/PCIE cards do you have installed?
just the gpu
NVME drive in the broadcast pc?
I'm just thinking that the GPU is probably taking up all available PCI lanes
Similar thing would happen to me if I put my sound card in my gaming PC. Wouldnt show up unless I set the GPU PCIE lane to 8x instead of 16x, as my NVME SSD takes up 4 lanes
hdd in the broadcast rig, sadly
and you've tried rebooting the system yes?
Do you know off hand what your CPU and chipset are?
It's still the same issue. Your max number of PCI lanes is 16 which are being taken up by your GPU.
^
need to set gpu lane to 8x, so if you cant do that in BIOS, drop the gpu down one pcie slot if you can
hell yeah, i'll give it a shot
what motherboard do you have for that, can probably find it online or in the manual
ASUS B-150 Pro Gaming D3
maybe move the gpu then?
In your BIOS, it will be under the "Advanced Tab" and then under "Onboard Devices Configuration" You'll see something along the lines of "PCI Express X16_2 Slot (Black) bandwidth [Auto]." You'll want to change the setting from "Auto" to "X4 Mode."
what colored slot is the gpu in? grey or black pcie slot?
yep, and then you should put the card in the black slot after changing
actually you might be fine in grey
its worded oddly in the manual
It's a bit of a bummer that there's no X8 support. It's either X2, X4, or X16.
I'm not sure how much of a practical difference it will make, but your GPU may see some bottlenecks in some cases.
okay so just changing to x4 didn't do it, i'll try moving the gpu
Yeah. The black one is at least configurable.
It's a very weird setup. Also, it's intel being stingy with PCI lanes again.
i mean thats a few families back for cpu
I don't think the story has changed much since then.
legit couldnt use amd then
Oh god no.
Intel has basically always had 16 native lanes to the two main PCIe slots for their mainstream platforms. All other lanes are provided by the chipset. Chipset is fed by DMI 3.0
Doesn't mean the entire platform only has 16 laness.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
okay, moved the gpu up and now i boot to a black screen scratch that
Which capture card is this again?
HD60 Pro
And this is Just the HD60 Pro + GPU?. Based on the info in the manual, I'd probably put the GPU in the top slot since that guarantees 16x lanes. And the HD60 Pro in the top PCIe 1x slot.
The bottom PCIe 16x slot is still wired through the chipset and shares lanes with the top 1x slot and your M.2 drive. Which would probably have some problems unless manually adjusted in the BIOS.
Where do you have things connected now? Sorry if you went over these details already.
The above information about PCIe 16_2 only would entail if you were putting a second GPU in the system where it wants more than 4 lanes. Did you have your GPU there before?
Typically top x16 is where the GPU is intended to be installed.
before today I didn't have a GPU at all in this rig. and I did move the GPU up to the top slot and unfortunately no change
Still this does simplify some of the issues with lanes. So it's a good change. Where is the HD60 Pro installed?
the top PCIe 1x
If the same applies to PCIe 16x_2 and PCIe 1_2, then go ahead and send us an email here: http://e.lga.to/help
Run this utility on the system with the capture card: http://e.lga.to/reporter and it will generate a SupportInfo Zip file on your desktop. Attach it to the email form. Will supply plenty of logs and diagnostics to spot what may be causing this. Having this file ready from the start will jumpstart troubleshooting with our full team.

will do. I appreciate the help 👍
As a follow up to my issue, I got a cam link 4k and it fixed the issue. So it seems the issue is with the HD60 Pro connected to a DSLR
@untold stone did getting the hdmi to display port converter work? Again
I hope it does, I will try to get one
I intend to use my quad hd to record/stream and my 2nd monitor to see chat
worked like a charm for me
do i need to download drivers for my HD60 S?
so that it doesnt freeze when i go back into fullscreen games
I really don't know why it keeps freezing for 5 sec, then blinks to a black screen 2 times and then I am able to play
will the 4k pro fix these issues? or the hd60 pro?
@south bronze that's more a windows issue. If you alt tab any fullscreen game it blinks like that because windows is now taking control of the monitor feed. Try running a game in borderless windowed.
borderless windowed makes my game lag
latency issues, slow feeling, lower fps
but I mean, you are telling me this is a windows issue, but before i started using a dual pc setup, it never did that lol i mean using elgato
It might not be as noticeable. I use one system but if I alt tab or click out of a game windows has a panick attack.
its just a huge RIP cuz my stream sees the black screen and stutter
I had to clone my monitor so i can still play on 144hz and use the capture card
that is the issue, I had to clone
if I don't clone, nothing goes wrong
but otherwise I play on 60hz...
you don't understand i see
I do understand.
alt tabbing was never a problem for me
until I started using the Elgato
I have to clone my monitor to play on 144hz instead of elgato's 60hz
when I clone, it started to freeze for 5 sec when I alt+tab or close an application
I get that, I had to do the same when I used dual PCs.
sometimes mid game my game freezes for about 5 seconds
When alt tabbing or just freezing
random freezes without alt tabbing for 5 sec
but also when i alt+tab it freezes and blinks
Ok, the alt tabbing I honestly expect as an issue. It's how graphics are handled. The game takes over the screen and controls everything with it. When you alt tab windows gets that back and the elgato plays catchup. Though 5 seconds may be long. Do you have other usb devices on you stream pc?
Lol
