How do you guys handle a situation where you like being in a certain streamers community, but also want to leave it because of an individual who is well liked/popular who is incredibly toxic only to you specifically?

Most of the people I frequently watch and support are friends or cordial with this individual, and so often times they’ll leave my stream or cancel planned games/online hangouts to interact with them more

I know it shouldn’t bother me that much, but I’m just trying to figure out what to do because on multiple occasions, that individual has said bad things about my channel behind my back, and even refused to help me

I feel like I’d be “starting over” again if I suddenly cut ties with everyone that individual is involved with, but I just don’t want to deal with the emotional draining of having to put up fronts that I’m not bothered by it

It's better to get rid of that said person early because it will make you feel better and be less draining and the longer you wait the longer you'll be building a community with said person around, which if everyone is actually "loyal" to said person, get them all out now so you can start your community with people who you want and build you up

Plus if your friends are actually friends, they'll still support you even though you and said person don't associate

So take the risk and get rid of the toxic person and whoever chooses them only and won't support you as well then they can leave as well Imo

@thorn wing yeah it would be while the audio technica AT 2020 USB plus is a USB microphone and does it sound Okay the Shure SM7B is a XLR from what I have been told XLR microphones sound better then USB microphones

@honest tinsel usb vs XLR isnt what makes the mic sound better. XLR tend to be better because they have been manufactured for years and have had hundreds of iterations of the design and hardware. At2020 is a moderately good microphone and there probably isn't a reason to switch unless you are doing music recording
