I have a question... I am new to the whole streaming thing, so today I was testing stream labs and while streaming I notice that I was losing so many frames and I was playing at 60fps which is not ideal. My question is if I get a capture card, will I still be losing those frames or will the capture card will take most of the work and let me play at my regular 120fps? Thanks in advance... If not then what do you guys recommend me to do?

You have to go to stats window on obs and determine what the frame drops are coming from? Can be cpu gpu or network causing the problems. Cant help diagnose until you identify where your frame drops are coming from @michelmazal#3615

You can basically use any Kind of capture card to record the output of a camera, but keep in mind that Microsoft blocks the usage of at least the HD60S in their software (they just won't show it)

So if you have a video conference with Microsoft Teams or Skype that probably won't work for you

Hi i am looking to purchase the Elgato Key Light. I know it requires 2.4ghz network to do initial pairing. My router has a 2.4ghz SSID ( i use just to connect my Kindle to the web), and a 5ghz SSD which i connect all my other devices to. The entire home network runs on 5ghz SSID, even though i still have the 2.4ghz SSID active on my router. My question is. If my future Key Light is connected to the 2.4ghz channel, can i control it from devices that are on the same router but on 5ghz SSID? Will it be seen on my router by my 5ghz devices even though its connected on 2.4? i would hate to move both my computers and my phone and everything else to 2.4ghz just to change Key Light settings. thank you

@brazen tapir It connects to the network via 2.4Ghz. But it's not doing direct Wifi to Wifi communication. It can be controlled by any network device on the same network with the same subnet. So devices connected over 5Ghz, different SSID, or ethernet devices.

Depends on your router settings (if the networks are seperated) but it should work.

Not... really. That would be a feature request.

You can make buttons on Stream Deck which have specific brightness and color settings. So in a sense, Stream Deck can be used for presets.

Im using it on my ps4 and listening the audio from the elgato software

My headset is plugged in my pc to hear game audio

so I would like to know is there a like 1-2 frame audio delay from listening from my pc and tv?

Like does my pc pick up 1-2 frames audio late or is everything synced up?

The delay is really not noticeable but if you pay like reallyyy really really close attention sometimes you feel it and sometimes you dont

The teaser does nothing to excite me. Showing what is clearly a mic is not enough to get me excited. Not when that mic is going up against quality mics that people know and love already. It needs to be more... and we haven't seen more. What I am hoping for is a GOXLR alternative.

Bottom line mics are a dime a dozen with a wide range of price points and quality out there already. Audio interfaces not so much

Obviously speculating here but I would bet the elgato wave is an entry level usb mic that prob comes with really nice integrated audio software to add eq, compression e.t.c on the fly with the ability to seperate audio inputs. And will have stream deck integration and so on. Will it be as good as a 500 dollar go xlr and a shure sm7b no. But I bet it will be perform as good or better then a blue yeti with better integration and software. Could be totally wrong tho. @crisp cloak

There are already so many mics out there I'm just wary how good of a mic it'll be while on top of that have audio functions. Trying to combine those two things and for them to both be better than average at what they do means $$$$$.

The problem with that thought @misty cypress is that to pull it off and offer the same features as a GO XLR + a mic you're looking at a very expensive item. VERY. Won't complain if they pull it off... but will they? How many people will replace even a mid range mic like the AT2020 with what they are releasing? Surely it won't compete with something like the SHURE.

Probably not, but if it is a low quality mic with some audio interface extras then bottom line people will get a quality mic + audio interface.

So we are left with two options. It's great but you sell a kidney to get one. Or it's aiming to sell to starters who will eventually need to upgrade once they realize it isn't very good

My lighting solution was a $30 strip of LED lights with two sided tape. Converted an old lamp with some thin orange paper to produce a nice soft light. Spending $200 CAD for each key light air just seemed silly.

hello all, I just got a Stream Deck for macros/soundboard/MIDI. Do the assets added to a profile copy themselves into the profile backup? I.e. if I add sounds to a soundboard and delete the original sound file, will restoring a profile backup still allow the profile to work? Or do I need to keep up with the original files?

So, I heard that this capture card can output at 1080p60 but cannot capture at 1080p60, so what's the difference between these too?

Also, may I ask, I know that with the elgato Game Capture HD you can't record at 1080p60, however are you able to stream at 1080p60?

it means if you use the HDMI out towards your TV / monitor the 1080p 60 signal will pass through. That Elgato is meant to go between the system and display.

From the pictures I was thinking:

• one USB plug, showing as two output audio devices - e.g. "game" and "chat". Use windows sound settings to route discord to one, game to the other
• decent microphone

Bonus points, but not expecting:

• multiple audio input devices - 'microphone' and 'broadcast mix' for example. Broadcast mix woudl be 'what you hear', i.e. a mix of you talking, game chat, and game voice. Set OBS to that
• choosable levels for that
• customizable mic loopback

For me, assuming I'm right about what it is, analog loopback of mic -> headphones is a must-have

In other words, cross between a blue yeti and go xlr

rackmount box in a later photo is a Roland Octa-capture: pretty neat card. 1 USB connection, but appears to windows as 5 stereo USB sound cards. 4 directly matching balanced/unbalanced stereo inputs, one matching the thing's concept of a 'main mix' (which isn't so useful)

1 records in 40mbps and the 2nd in 60mbps

@tawny orchid Yes, higher number generally means higher quality. The HD60 S has no internal encoder, so the device isn't limited to 40 or 60 and it's down to the software.

Game Capture HD essentially caps out at 40Mbps for the HD60 S. 4K Capture Utility caps out at 60. That's all there is to it
