I'm curious about the physical design of the Elgato HD60. Why is the USB cable connected on one of the HDMI side? it's just awkward. I would think the 2 hdmi ports being on one side and the usb port on the other would make more sense

There's a C# wrapper available for the StreamDeck too, and I personally love the C# language. Python might be a good first language though, despite me being a fan of learning C# as my first language (but then again, I have a weird way of working so)

So I have the older elgato (was new when I got it) the game capture hd.
I'm trying to start streaming again and want to capture my party chat audio for stream.
Normally I'd just but the chat link cable no problem, but the game capture hd doesnt have a 3.5mm input Jack that the chat link needs
If I can find an adapter from the weird A/V pin connector > 3.5mm, will the chat link work like normal?

There currently isn't an official plugin for discord. However, it has already been suggested in #stream-deck-showcase . The only way to currently accomplish this would be with hotkeys. If you would like help with that, hop over to #cth-history and a fellow community member might have some insight.

As someone who owns two they are amazing. White Balance and Exposure level are really nice. I have a window behind my computer, I like it open to see outside, but if it's bright out I can adjust my lights so my face isn't washed out, and I can skill chromakey my green screen. Also can control all functions from Phone/PC/Stream deck.
Also to mention the heat that you're not generating from them, I had two of those massive 24"x24" studio lights and the room was always 5-10 degrees (F) hotter.
Also they are LED
and come with a stand that is adjustable and they connect wifi, me personally the price is justified. Enough-so two buy a second.

Hey @fresh fern to give you a tldr on pricing, we used a lot of high quality parts in the Key Light. If you'd like the technical run down essentially there are 160 OSRAM LEDs in the Key Light and it has a wide temperature range you usually cant get in other lights. It's also actually pretty inexpensive for a studio grade edge light. They normally start at $300 and up which doesn't include the space saving pole mount which is unique to our product. Like Bahamut stated, it's also wifi controlled so you get the software with it through Stream Deck as well.
In terms of height the Key Light can go as high as 49in and as low as 22in.
I currently have it at my home set up and it has no problem going over the monitors. If it's too tall, you can also angle the light down

That specific requirement is more so about HDR recording. Pascal (10 series) or newer allows for 10Bit HEVC recording which is needed for HDR. If you're never touching HDR recording, something else should work for you.

That cable may not be rated for 3.0/5Gbps speeds. In which case it wouldn't be able to support the HD60 S. Don't believe there is anything specific which would prevent direct C to C.

Honestly @finite obsidian if you're happy with your product then awesome 😊 The features our new capture devices offer are based on what people deem valuable. Some people want to game in 4KHDR, some want little to none delay, etc. If none of those things interest you and you're happy with your product, then all good 👍

In the comparison sheet on elgato site, the delay is catergorized the same way as the hd60s. So i think thats the same. The 4K stuff is what would draw people to it i think.

For the 60Mbps, you can decide what bitrate you want to use in the software. It's your choice if you want to switch to a new capture card. The HD60S and HD60S+ have little to no latency delay is one of the bigger reasons to upgrade, but the S+ also has HDR.

Green Screen MT is amazing, I went from a rolled up cloth to that, I've used one of their green screens before, and the chroma keying from that color of green is so much better. Most cloths have a sheen or if you're like me have wrinkles in them from being rolled or folded. Very worth the money I spent. Also hangs above my desk out of the way.

Most of my uses is on my Streamdeck, I don't know if a google home is useful for me.

Nah, like alarms that turn my lights on too, a night time routine that turns the lights off, and shuts down my PC, etc.
A quick reminder telling me when it's time to go for the bus to where I need to go, etc.
