#question-of-the-day Instead of feeling frustration in producing content, headaches, and ill health (literally, my content is often about my experience of Mental Health) when I have inspiring ideas I want to write record or stream, I want to do something else with that energy, another approach.

To simplify with one example, with all these tools, I can't record a perfect forever, my fingers have a bit of tremor etc, but in another mode of being I do get in a groove, and I feel the music I might be playing.

Then in that moment I am recording, I feel so glad that I am recording, and I get some material I really like that.

Another flip side is in social settings, and how I want to avoid both putting toxic negativity and toxic positivity into my feelings and content.
I want to feel calmer and slower, be gentler to my nerves and heart (metaphorically and anatomically).

I think together our world could be nicer. I know that you, out there streaming, pretty much universally want to keep "fighting" in games and artworks, and to, well, as a lot of you are saying, be more consistent, have more fun, help people learn, and to succeed.

All year I wanted to make a new, good song with a video to go with. Mid-December I realized, I don't have much time left. Therefore, I hurried up and managed to upload something on the 30th. It happened to be about 2023 in some way, and the time off work in the holiday was my moment.

I hope to be more gentle, and press record more often, and capture those grooves that get layered over with actual durations of brain processor unit cycles on frustration. Forgetting the groover later, and stuck with a boring looping error message (wish I just pressed record, wish I just pressed record).

I hope we keep singing and dancing and playing!

A capture card is used to capture the audio/video of one device so you can stream it through a different device.
If you only have 1 PC and are playing on that PC then there is no reason to own a capture card.

Not really not that customization of audio. Also the instant voice recording playback/sounds. Plus the mute instant but also add a hearing option to turn off on like the rhode duo. Also add 6 sliders because I feel like it would get more use. You can also connect to xlr mics

I think this would more use case than the deck+ sliders are easier to adjust and add a function to add presets on where you change your audio at ease like the go xlr. That’s a huge function rode podcast is missing

Hey people, bit of predicament here - found good local deal for Thunderbolt 3 dock (non pro), but the seller lost the charger. Due to that, I am looking for answers to couple following questions:

• can not really find any info about whether dock can work without power supply - I do not need laptop charging functionality, my laptop does not have usb-c/tb charging supported
• how does charging connector on the side of the power supply looks? I have "universal laptop charger" kit, but not sure if it will fit the dock. If anyone could share photo/image of connector on power supply and its size, that would pretty much be exactly info that I am looking for

If anyone can just tell me if it works without power or share photo/size of charger connector, that would help a lot, since I can't find it anywhere for the life of me, all photos on the internet are just side profiles, not the actual front of the connector. The power connector on the dock itself looks like this:

Hi All, I'm new to the Elgato realm. I currently have the HD60X, Chat Link Pro, and Cam Link 4K.
Everything is working great with the exception of the Chat Link Pro. When I have it plugged into the HD60X and my PS5 controller, I am seeing a strange issue.
Something seems to be sending a signal to the controller that I am moving my left thumbstick to the left at random times. I unplug the Chat Link, and the issue goes away. Has anyone else seen an isue like this? I'm stumped as to how the CLP could be sending that type of signal. Happens on 2 separate official PS5 controllers.

Interesting... Accounts are how things work. It's not meant to be a standard MIDI controller or something. Maybe just not what you're into. Account and Elgato are safe, user-friendly, and helpful to organize profiles and access apps on computer, again all things a MIDI controller cannot do. Maybe you want a MIDI controller and write apps to do controls you want. No account needed.

Depends on the laptop. Some have HDMI jacks, some have DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort. Some have DP-Alt mode over USB-C. Some will need a dock. You're better off asking in a tech support diskcord though

I'm a fan of the StreamDeck+ largely because it also unlocks the ability to run the Wave Link mixer app, which I use to load my mic plugins and connect it with the Microphone FX feed to thigns like teams and discord. But if you don't need anything like that and are set for audio there's definely to something to be said for more buttons. The dials are nice, but unless you're using them a lot for adjusting things like volume or lights, or you have a use for the touch panel. there are more plugins that make use of the general buttons.

Well I’d say that for those games, or at least Football Manager, the 10 series cards should be good enough. Although, in this day and age, those cards aren’t super powerful, but they should be good enough to get you through the time of waiting for your GPU.

Trying to use my HD60 S+ to record PC gameplay. Video records no problem, live commentary records no problem. But I can't get it to record the actual game audio or discord audio.

The official website refers to Elgato Sound Capture, but I can't find an actual download for it anywhere

It also mentions being incorporated into Elgato Game Capture HD...but not the 4K Game Capture Utility that's currently available...so I'm stuck

Ideally you want to have multiple cameras like that on different USB 3.0 root hubs (and capture cards, and other USB 3.0 things that are high bandwidth). They aren't quite. To compare to something similar look at IRC - you had admins and mods. Admins were generally operators on the whole network level, while mods were specific channels and groups.
For Discord, Moderators often have a set of permissions to moderate conversations and users a server (eg timing out unruly people, user bans) but no actual control over the server itself (eg no renaming channels, or changing permissions), while an admin has full on administrator permissions and can also do things like make changes to to the server setup moving channels, changing permissions, etc. Mostly a matter of scale and depth of control as implied by the name.

Moderators moderate user participation in a server to keep people in line of the rules, administrators administer the server. Kind of like helpdesk vs sysadmin. Both kind of the same in some regards and it's not unheard of to have overlap in the roles, but one has greater scope and control than the other.

Confusion is understandable though as it's not uncommon to not to separate the two roles, and use both names for your admins if you don't have a discrete team of moderators under your admin group (or to just skip having an admin team instead). Results in folks only knowing both things by one name and has a similar effect to how younger folks sometimes wind up thinking WiFi and Internet mean the same thing, because that's just how they've always used it and they don't realize there's a distinction in there.
In this case the company/community line for the role makes such a distinction between mod and admin roles necessary and gives a good cutoff for the separations of duties in the roles.

The only bad thing about any Razer products is their software imo and sometimes quality of the materials, my younger brother looooves Razer keyboards and mice etc but they break constantly

That is the major issue is the quality. My problem with the cam is that it constantly has issues where it will start glitching mid stream, it will do a little freeze hiccup, and it will just stop working.
