#Warning People Offline

More than once I was placing a warning and the player disconnected. It is quite inconvenient to have to wait for it to reconnect to be able to put the warning on it. I would like to be able to put warnings on offline players, just like you can do with bans.

I have suggested this a while back and I think it was denied as it could be confusing to people.

However I still think this is a valid concern. Especially with a "tier"-system (i.e. the more often you commit an offence the harder the punishment).
You can't be sure he had a chance to acknowledge his wrong-doing since he never saw a offline warn (or even ban).

I'd suggest the following (maybe only for the rewrite): Every warn and ban gets an attribute "acknowledged".

  • If a player is banned / warned while online the attribute is already set to true
  • When a player tries to join and is denied (because of a ban), it is set to true
  • When a player joins and has "outstanding" warns/bans (i.e. acknowledged is set to false) he is notified with a screen similar to the warning screen: "You received a ban/warn while being offline. Reason: <XY>". Hold space for 5 seconds to close.
(Lists all non-acknowledged warns and will set acknowledged to true)
