The 1 and only attempt they did. The problem is they dont have any consistent advertisement for the game at all. So unless ppl see a random youtube vid about the game, which low chances, aint no new players gonna appear. Most if not all new accounts joining are friends of current players or smurfs

They did it more then once, always a small increase in players for 2 weeks and then it drops to the usual player count

ever since the global release, ive only seen 1 singular promotion that wasnt even talked about. Streamers just randomly started playing the game and it was before any of the netcode improvements

i think there are people here that would enjoy to create promotional content for the team to use to advertise the game. little videos, banners and so on.

some ideas i got rn on the fly:

1. do a contest for advertising materials and the best ones could be used officially by the team maybe with some adjustments like quality or something. has to be covered by copyrights and so on...

2. a campaign for players to promote the game themselves maybe with some optional ingame rewards if they share advertisements on social media (insta, x(former twitter), facebook for those who still use it, tiktok and youtube)

3. ingame programs that promote inviting friends for some items (number of invited friends and/or progress of invited friends). could backfire a bit if people create smurf accounts but could be prevented by logging hwids so only a limited number of accounts could be considered as invited as friend, not as inviting player. wont be hard prove but limits cheating this system a bit.

4. promote with experienced players feedbacks? some of the people in here have insane dedication to this like hyven and have quite some experience. they can review as long time player and give an honest and "in depth" report not like short time tests by magazines or little 3-hours of gameplay test youtubers

these are just some ideas i had right now and could be improved. i think, involving the community here should be considered because there are not many players that are this dedicated so its not that much to go through as dev, also it elevates a bit of work maybe? also bring back the weekly video. there are not many and it could be a selling point (active community and community rewards)
