What do I need to add to be able to actually get an internship for 2025??

also is that startup a YC one?

loud shell

No lmfao I wish

#

And yes

# loud shell And yes

my advice for you is to either:

join a internship program, that gives you a internship at a partner company

or B, try to work as a undergrad researcher or at a Y combinator startup

loud shell
#

How do I find such a program?

misty remnant
#

depends on your uni

#

sometimes not even

loud shell
#

Well, my current internship offered me to return next summer so I will do that if I don’t find anything

misty remnant
#

try inroads

#

its a pretty good program

#

i got my current internship from a program called genesys works

I’m hoping I can get into an REU, I’m going to be a course assistant and do more research in this semester so I will have even more experience

#

Ok, I will look into that

#

Thank you

misty remnant
#

the only downside to geneyss is that you can't apply as a college student

misty remnant
#

another good idea is just DM'ing YC founders

#

and ask them if they could use interns

loud shell
#

How would u chance me for big n internships?

#

Not faang but like banks and such

#

Just something well known

misty remnant
#

if anything, you could get a internship here at uhg easy

#

i'd just niche the projects down a bit more

loud shell
#

Ok, I gotcha

#

That is definitely true, my projects are the weakest link here

misty remnant
#

my friend loves graphics programming

#

so he has some games and physics simulations

loud shell
#

Do you think it would be a good idea to replace them with that research/course assistant position when I do them in the semester?

#

Ok, that sounds good. I’m quite interested in systems programming too, I want to develop a basic compiler. Do u think that’s a decent resume project

loud shell
#

Ok gotcha. Thanks, sound advice and I needed to hear it

misty remnant
#

learn some compiler theory rq, and build a simple C compiler or smth like that

loud shell
#

I need to stop neglecting my projects

misty remnant
#

also another tip is that there are discords for just about any type of coding

#

including a one for compilers

#

they really help when learning the theory behind the field

loud shell
#

Can you DM me them?

#

I would really appreciate that, I’m working my way through a type theory textbook rn

@loud shell discord link is on the front page

#

you compete with a much smaller pool of applicants

#

as long as you have a well written resume, you should be good
