#can't connect to server
45 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Are you still having issues?
yes, sorry was working all week
my friend is also having the same issue and we tried everything ever since this update we been locked out of official servers only and none of us use multibox or anything
it goes to the loading screen to conecct to sanctuary loads for a bit then back to the main page
You may have already tried these, but jut to be sure, Im going to have you try 3 things.
- verify your files
- either sign out/swap accounts on Steam, or force-close Steam, (either one will force Steam to reset its handshake)
If neither of those works - Force reinstall EAC (instructions in the pinned thread in #1115045077870444574 )
tried all that hon
i even re-installed to see if that will fix it but nothing it just continues this loop
i can stream it for you if you want to see exaclly
When you reinstalled it, did you make sure it was being installed on an SSD?
yes
all my drivesa are SSD
its so odd cause it worked fine a week and a half ago now its looping
kind of reminds me of when the EAC went down and you could not connect
Have you tried clearing your EAC cache?
aye
i been working on this for a week now, i don't think i am false banned, not sure whats going on. this EAC update really kicked me in the face with being able to log on
You'd get a notification screen for a ban, and all officials share the same banlist, so we can cross that one off
hmm this is so odd cause i have a group of 10 i play with and we are all having the same issue
Is it just sanctuary? Or are you having trouble with other NA servers?
let me try another official
i know i can hop on unofficials
sanc only
i got on flaming falls no issue
Okay, so thats likely not Steam's inbuilt ping filtering.
sanct is my best ping server at 84 while flame was 120
im not sure what else to try
You reinstalled recently so you wouldnt have the borked file either...
Connecting to the servers is a three program process between the game itself, EAC, and Steam. Youve reinstalled two of them, and the third is connecting to other servers just fine. Best I can think of with my limited knowhow is clearing the steam download cache out of paranoia, make sure there isnt something tripping it up in there.
Youve already run through the fixes in this thread?
Just to double check?
All but force reinstalling EAC, since I just stumbled upon this when I was playing 20minutes ago. I'm trying to swap accounts and logging on my alt
Not being able to connect to a catigory of servers, say a certain country, not being able to connect to officials, usually thats the EAC's fault, and reinstalling EAC usually fixes that one.
@hollow prawn where are you from?
usa
and I'm from teh netherlands
ah
i restarted my pc and now it works
This one is mostly for servers not showing up, but sometimes Steam sends enough pings per minute to end up slowing your connection far enough that connecting becomes a problem. If your ping is something like 84, its probably not that, but ill add it regardless.
- Adjust Steam server ping settings
a. With the game closed, go to the Steam window
b. Click the Steam menu in the upper left
c. Click Settings, then the 'In Game' tab
d. Adjust the Max Pings per Minute to a lower amount (500 works for me)
e. Recheck servers ingame.
k ill try once i get back home and ping if it works or not
worked
Glad to hear it!!
might wanna add that to the tech support for ppl having the loop issue. jsut to help out
