I've been stuck here for the last 10 minutes. It always does this. My partner can get into the game just fine but I'm struggling with 5-10 minute wait times to even see the game, or the dragons I do have? What's going on and how can I correct it? If that's not it, I get completely sent back to the start screen where you have to click play just to start over again. 😦

The file location you have DoD installed on, is it on a HDD or a SSD?

You can check by

  • pressing Ctl, Alt, and Delete and selecting Task Manager
  • opening the second tab in Task Manager, there should be a bunch of graphs
  • you want to check Drives, there will be either HDD, SSD, or both (most modern gaming PCs have both)

If you have both, mark down which drive letter (C:, D:, etc) is the SSD
Then check the file location for DoD through Steam, and if the first letter of the install location isnt the same letter as the name of the SSD, you have DoD installed on the wrong drive.
You can move DoD's install location through steam, or uninstall and reinstall onto the SSD

Dod needs to be installed on a SSD if you're going to play on any map that isn't the greybox, or else you get stuck in eternal loading before the character select. HDDs usually are not fast enough to load the map before it times out and kicks you back out of the server
