Please could we get a mute and/or block system in place?
Some players don’t get on well with other players, and that’s completely normal we’re never gonna get along with everybody- but when it gets too much and one person is bothering another too much then it becomes that the only option to avoid that player is to log out which sucks -
sure you can switch chat tab, but there’s other players in the global/local/group chats that someone enjoys interacting with so they lose that
In my mind, the mute would be a temporary option- only lasts for as long as that game session lasts (so goes away if you log out) + the block would be permanent (but ofc the ability to unmute/unblock). It would make it so
- those people won’t see you’re online
- you won’t be able to see those people’s messages
(The reason for the temporary personal mute is because maybe someone’s just having a grumpy day but you usually are fine with them)
I think this would also be rly useful for managing the recent increase of toxicity in chat (which affects everyone, not just those arguing)
- uninvolved ppl wouldn’t have to endure whatever drama is going on and
- it would probably actually reduce overall drama cause instead of being baited etc into an argument you could just boop the mute button and not engage anymore - then the other person would realise you’re not replying and have probs muted them so they’ll give up on typing abt it
- a lot of ppl have stopped playing how they enjoy playing or even stopped playing DoD completely because of the seemingly constant ✨drama✨ and I reckon this option would help loads
Currently the only real way to make everyone Just Stop is to call in an admin to the server which scares people into submission😉, but a lot could be avoided simply by having a mute and/or block option!
