This is a proposal for a system that could reduce the need for claning at least in the beginning.
It would work like an achievement system, every category from the bloodline quality tab would have attached to it an achievement for increasing it allowing players to evolve each specific trait to some degree by just playing the game
and not breeding, something like training. The most important aspects I thought of would be:

  • the highest point you can get with this would be B, the higher rankings need to be breed;
  • it goes through all the levels so E- -> E -> E+ -> D- -> D -> D+ -> C- -> C -> C+ -> B- -> B;
  • the points for leveling increase, meaning you need 100XP in E and from E to D, 250 in D and from D to C, 500 in C and from C to B and finally 1000 in B;
  • 1XP point is based on the skill so it could be 1XP = 1Km/1Mi of flight/running for endurance, 1XP = 1 point of DMG of a specific type and so on (the amount 1XP point means is open to severe feedback);
  • some ideas for the others like nutrient absorption, water retention, life expectancy are:

Life Expectancy: Staying alive 100/250/500/1000 Days
Bile Production: Bringing Bile Sack to ~10% for 100/250/500/1000 Times
Nutrient Absorption: Bringing Hunger to 0% for 100/250/500 Times
Water Retention: Bringing Thirst to 0% for 100/250/500 Times

This would make all aspects of the game very important because having a higher bloodline quality at the start of the breeding process would make it way easier to achieve the highest rankings.
The system would benefit, in my opinion: servers with low population, people wanting to play without a group, high population servers with established clans (they would have a benchmark for people to join/breed).
You could train with teammates to increase your resistance to specific types of damage, battling in PVP would be higher stakes since you had to level up your skills.
I'm very open to feedback on any part of the idea.

I LOVE this idea. This would get rid of the "waiting sim" that we have now, with people able to have active inputs into the gameplay. I would love to play a game with this idea implemented!

I’ve been wanting a more complicated stat tree but i think something like this works just as well or even better, since you could literally train to be better at doing / resisting certain things just from experience rather than necessarily plugging in points to certain slots. It also alleviates some of the tediousness of upstatting + allows you to contribute to your clan without having to rely on nests from others, which is nice since bloodlines are usually kept careful track of and not everybody might be able to be helpful in the nesting orders.
