Able to play but game is unplayable

I was one of the people who couldn't play because of dx12 errors. The game loaded up I was happy. I put everything on potato and the game gives me legit 3 frames.

Its fully unplayable for me. It takes 5 minutes to take a step, people are teleporting on my screen.

Really sad because I was so hopeful i could finally play this game but legacy is smoother and playable compared to this version

It might be more helpful if you posted your specs. There are unfortunately always going to be PCs so old or underpowered that they struggle to boot the calculator app, let alone a game.

If your specs are within the realm where the game should run well, and it isn't, that might indicate that there's a setting issue that could be an easy fix (like auto detect setting things too high). But without that it's hard to tell.

Something else to keep in mind is if you post your PC stats, it allows the devs to aggregate more data and make improvements that help everyone play the game better (and helps them figure out their player base's computer spread for future optimizations)

I'm honestly suprised at how many posts I see where people can't play it, given that on all 3 of my systems (40 series, 20 series, and Intel integrated non-gaming laptop) I'm able to run the game at smooth fps.

Like I'm really wondering if people just started digging out their Windows 7 family PC's from attics just to play this single game and nothing else 😂 (I'm not judging, it's just weird so many people have low-end machines and -expect- to run this well)

There were several times yesterday both in game and discord I saw people that didn't know how to view game files. Which is like a super, basic thing in PC gaming. So it leads me to believe either there's a lot of children and this is their first game ever really playing outside of roblox and fortnite, or maybe a lot of non-gamers drawn in by the fact that this is the only functional dragon game on the market that's open-world full control.

Across 5 different computers ranging from 12 years old to less than a year, I can play dod on all of them. 4 are built for gaming, one is a super crappy laptop. Is performance great on all? Nah, but it's playable! It strikes me odd anyone would find it unplayable unless on a truly ancient rig.

So, yes an issue like this would benefit greatly from PC specs posted, because more than likely it's a hardware or OS issue. And if that's the case there is usually a way to tweak and help with the issue. Not always, but many times.

And tbh comparing legacy to the new branch isn't really ever going to be fair. UE5 is simply more powerful, period. Legacy will pretty much always run better in terms of performance because it's on a much much older iteration of the game engine, and at this point has fewer mechanics and assets.

So posting the specs you're working with will help figuring out where issues stem from tremendously.

Yeah, it’s more laggy and I can’t even hardly get to 20 FPS anymore, the game looks meshy and blocky (from my computers view) and I can’t hardly move or play the game anymore even on a extremely unpopulated server.

I use to be able to have medium/high settings and be completely fine, now I can’t even hardly play the game on all potato settings.

I do think that people with low end pc it's kind sure can't run a game with high quality but in this case, even people with high pc have problem.
I have a low end pc, but I could run it with something in medium, only the shadows were the problem, now I can barely move my dragon without lag

Did you try turning on the amd frame generation and ai scaling thing? after setting the upscaling to preformence and turning on frame generation I literally doubled my fps, now its actually playable

The thing with that I've noticed is that the frame rate does indeed increase exponentially, but then the clarity/sharpness of the image and even effects suffer compared to if it was turned off. My models look fuzzy/blurry and the lightning effect is more pixilated with thr AMD setting on... I'm also seeing slight after-images of anything in motion. It honestly bothers my eyes especially at night. I would rather have a less polygonal object than this fuzzy pixel trailing mess.

I’m realizing it’s especially became more laggy with the amount of people spamming blitz’s stunning ability and storms being summoned pretty much every 5-10 minutes, making it extremely laggy and irritating (and for me it’s extremely painful on my eyes with blitz’s ability).

Pretty sure people can only summon 1 storm per in game day and it doesn't effect your frame rate, mines not dropped in the slightest when storms happen and if the blitz ability hurts your eyes personally I would recommend nesting away from large groups

I can't even get in a server with 22/120 population. I wish i could even see 3 frames now
