I suggest adding a function inside the game for low spec laptobs/pcs instead of hosting a new server, because I’m worried when I get a new laptob it won’t be awesome. Is it a lot to ask to add just a little function on the side, instead of them changing the graphics settings? Or maybe before someone press “Play” on the steam game, they can manage the property and choose low spec option for the whole game on the new 1.0.1. Even on the testing area. I’m saying this function for those on a very tight budget people wanting a chance at newer creatures instead of choosing legacy.

The idea of low spec server to exist was just a temporary solution to fix the dx 12 error which is fixed in 1.1.
running an extra version of the game seems counterintuitive in the long run and demands more resources away from the game
not all hardware can be eternally supported, and as I recall from general chat, yours is way below the minimum of this game.
they have to completely integrate every build into the low spec which would make updates take longer. it also takes money from them
low spec is for UE4 and 1.1 is for UE 5 so they cant even bring the updates to low spec

yeah low spec isn't just lower graphics or anything, I believe it's the UE4 version of the game and it's only able to load the old maps. so it's different from changing in game settings or graphics, it's actually a completely different version of the game, which they have to have separate servers up for because the newer version of the maps won't work on low spec and presumably future updates of the game wouldn't be compatible with low spec either unless they continue to update and maintain that separately. so it takes resources for them to keep the low spec branch running... hence it's just a temporary fix for the dx 12 error causing crashes, it isn't something they can keep supporting
they have graphics options for allowing people with worse hardware to keep playing, and if it's too laggy even on the lowest settings then.. you need to upgrade your computer. the game does have minimum hardware requirements, so you can't expect to be able to play it with just anything by lowering graphics enough

Its an unfortunate truth of video games, that there's only so far you can go to optimize the code and make things run better.
Once you hit that point? That's the minimum requirement to run the game.
