So, about that recent decision to put a ping cap on every PvP server.
I live in the US, in the same timezone as Jao. Internet infrastructure is so bad outside of the cities. There is one provider that offers one speed of internet here.

I want you to look at my ping.

We need just one PvP server without a ping cap. please, I'm begging you

Frozen Throne (UK) already doesn't have a ping cap.

Having no capless servers means that folks in rural areas, or in countries far from the main servers, cannot play on the official PvP servers at all

And that's a shame.

I understand that desync is an annoying problem. But please, let us play. Even if we're all quarantined together on one server. Let us keep being able to play.

In previous announcements Jao's joked that there were servers with ping caps of 500, so you could play with your friends in Antarctica.
I have worse than Antarctica Ping. And I live in the same country, in the same general region, as the lead dev. And there's not a thing I can do to fix that fact.

I am in agreement. There is nothing these people can do. It is not their fault.

One server isn't going to be much of a cost.

I know a of a few international clans, and some folks who made friends overseas and all play together on Frozen Throne because of the lack of cap.

So there's call for it outside of us country bumpkins.

I'm in agreement here too, when 1.0 launched and all ping caps were 300 i outright couldn't play without constant crashes, and i feared that I outright wouldnt be able to play pvp due to no fault of mine, there needs to remain at least one server without a ping cap, and i vote it remain frozen throne

I agree. I have too many friends who wouldn't be able to play anymore with the new ping caps to be fine with it, as well as the fact that I myself have ping spikes on occasion, again, due to no fault of mine

its a shame it looks like they basically remove all not mainland players with is, they're really limiting the player base on things they cant control

i agree just 1 server cant harm anyone if only a slect few have high ping dedicate 1 server for the people with high ping!

agreed. california here with rural satellite internet averaging 50mbps. random ping spikes above 500 lead to dead dragons. sorry google fiber doesnt come out here

A ping cap on every server is essentially just a different version of the 1.0.0 issues that punished players for having limited funds and only older tech that couldn't handle the demand of all the shiny new things being tried in UE5—this is punishing players for where they live and what internet speed(s) they have available.

Having a single no-ping-cap server is inclusive and harmless. Marking the server appropriately in its name and providing a reminder in character selection leaves it to players to understand and accept the risks involved with playing with high ping.

Wait, They actually put a Cap on FT? They stated it would stay uncapped. Huh.

Had a friend check it ~an hour ago.
It's currently capped.

I was having this issue a lot in 1.0 and I find it's not just the cap that is the issue, but also punishing players with lag spikes regardless of the ping. The game is unplayable when you get disconnected every 5 minutes to leave your baby out in the open. Come back to start over every freaking time. There's a few issues to address here in the ping caps

Just confirming that it's still capped, I really wanted to jump into 1.1 but cannot play on a single official pvp server.
This really needs to change, if people don't want to deal with desync there are lots of other places for them

I don't think its incorrect to say that a significant population of Frozen Throne was their either because it was the ping cap less PvP server, and that was the only one they could access, or because it was the only PvP server their friends could access.

It's a shame how many of us just straight up can't play PvP on officials anymore.

I now have confirmation that half of my australian playerbase in my clan cannot even connect to bloodmoon for longer than a few seconds. forcing them to feel alienated from the game, devs, and community just because of where they live on the planet.
some of which have supported this game since its kickstarter backer days cant play with the people they'd like the play the game with. its heart wrenching as someone who runs a community to see so many people say they're giving up and uninstalling

We go from being able to FINALLY play on previous Servers after the First ping cap updates rolled out Dragon King (pvp) was at 600 and since that got removed due to lack of players on it where are those people meant to go now? Nobody enjoys playing on a dead server (by themselves) and yet this seems to be the way. You are either forced to play where none of your friends are where the server is ACTIVE or are forced to give up and stop playing.

With the new Easy Anti Cheat System is it really that necessary to keep these ping caps? No game will ever be perfect when it comes to connecting all over the world if you want to create that vision then u have to be more accepting of the people and what they can use to be able to play. Y'all must admit that EVEN back in legacy while many did stop playing due to the amount of hacking it was at least still active playable and EVERYONE could be with everyone. I understand that people don't like comparisons and while this IS indeed a different game to things like Path of Titans, Red Dead or The Isle even those game allow for everyone to play with everyone. Lagging is ALWAYS GONNA be a thing to ANY GAME when it's supposedly designed for world wide enjoyment, people found ways to cope with that why can't it be like that now?

I live in the same country as the devs, and even I can't play with the ping caps so I uninstalled the game. Even with my own ping issues, I can still play on other survival games with friends. This is the only game I have this issue with so unless they they bring a solution that isn't so punishing to regular people trying to play, myself and many other people won't be playing the game. I think at the least, those players should get a 30 second warning before getting kicked so maybe they can get themselves to a safe location, but overall they should raise ping caps so people from "Antarctica" can play with their friends

My friends from EU and AU can't play on US Servers due to the ping cap so they're FORCED to play on EU servers that are INACTIVE and DEAD or to just STOP playing the game overall. This literally makes no sense and is super frustrating because it just divides the community and forces people into specific regions which is ridiculous.

The Ping Cap was implemented to prevent forced desync, but now that we have Anti-Cheat it shouldn't even be needed anymore. Please remove the Ping Cap and allow fellow EU and AU players to come to US servers, vice versa. Doing so would pretty much guarantee more diversity and people from each region on different servers as it should be, which would encourage more people to play.
