This might be a hot take, and since I obviously can't play one yet I might not fully understand what they do but:

I don't like the idea of needing to rely on another whole dragon to boost stats of hatchlings. It's a cool idea but doesn't entirely make sense. Why would one species of dragon need to rely on another just to have stronger offspring? My current understanding is that some of the better stats can't be obtained without it.

Instead, I think it could make more sense for the BW to just help with incubation times, egg spawning times, and those kinds of factors. Heck maybe even make it so you could lay additional eggs. But I don't think it should influence the stats at all.

broodwatcher assists in attaining better stats faster is my understanding. think of it like upstatting, it's easier to upstat faster if you're nesting with high stat dragons. broodwatcher just helps. it's not necessary in order to get good stats, just makes it easier/faster

gotcha! i mean, yea...and eh lol. for anyone wanting better stats it will at least help speed that up. but, then you have a server over run with good stats....not a bad thing....unless new people can't get good eggs. i'm mostly neutral on it honestly, i do think it'll be a nice help. having it help with incubation time could be helpful, or boosting number of eggs laid. i am curious of what makes it special so that it can affect things like stats/etc.

true, but then Jao has said he wants the game to be more social. a lot of people shy away from anything that might encourage social play tho i've noticed.

Sure, but I still think it doesn't need to be that way which is what I was saying. And it still doesn't fit flavorfully unless there is lore I don't know about.

I agree lol about both the timer and seeing what makes it special! I just think it's both a neat concept but conflicts with the idea of dragons especially in a PvP setting. It's very social which is cool for PvE but I think being social and PvP kinda contradict each other lol thanks for sharing your thoughts!

you can get to full A stats without the broodwatcher- but anything above that (the + and ++) you will need its help with.
im hoping it does a little more as well for general nesting as well. im sure everyone would love faster egg laying times

I wish I knew other people's secret honestly. My clan and I have been nesting ASD since soft launch and cant seem to get a 0E 😭 fully A bl and everything. We even started getting ticks and getting the Dom point but it hasn't even been making a difference...

It's the recessives, if you want to DM me (cause timer lol) we can chat upstatting. We still have some E's on our dragons but also have dom/rec A and B in spots. I don't understand how it works 100% but I do know what we've done works
