All controversial topics aside, would it be too much to ask for separate pings within the discord? If we could just have reaction roles that gave us a ping for updates, developer news, test branch, or server news instead of just @'ing everyone, that would save everyone a lot of time.
I'm going to be honest, don't care about the public test branch OR new merch, but I would like to be informed when a new patch rolls out. I understand that you can suppress @ everyone mentions, but I would like to be informed of certain things within this discard. But honestly, due to the lack of content currently in the game, I'm not on top of it and don't play much. My interest is always piqued when I hear that the Devs are working on patching things, I'm excited to read those! I always rush to play when I hear stuff changes. However, all of the extra nonsense, it would be nice if I wasn't pinged for it. It's just disappointing to read stuff like that and see that the game hasn't improved.
I understand why they have not made separate pings, considering they want a lot of community involvement and for people to reach out and try the test branch and so on. But I believe that if they update their game more and roll out with a few more patches, people will be more interested in the Discord and more inspired to be notified of these other things.
It's just something to consider. I foresee a lot of people turning off all notifications and waiting for the patch, maybe even catching it late because they don't have notifications on.
Basically every other game server has this implemented and it's a lot easier to track.
People who want to be a part of the community are going to engage. Changing who gets notified for what isn't going to affect engagement that much.
