I think it’s well known that this issue still occurs time to time. I was going to include the hitboxes in this post, but that has already been addressed by jao already that will be coming in 1.0.1 I believe. It’s very frustrating and annoying to keep eyes on somebody flying through trees who is desyncing, although not impossible, it certainly makes it very difficult and headache worthy to keep eyes on them. Sometimes they will desync into the ground or into a tree and rock only to suddenly disappear seconds later which makes the thought of pvping in forests a joke.

This is an example of the current state of PvP desync and it’s not even caused by the ping cap either.
This was occurring much more frequently before the ping cap was increased.

and if im honest you should add weather to the game as it would bring people back, the weather system can be released before the blitz's

they need to fix the model so it does not get stuck like in the vid or bounce
Weather is already added to the game it’s just disabled on most servers (I forgot what server it’s enabled on) and is 99% done
Yh they might as well release it with a hotfixs
That could catch people attention
And bring them back to the game
They won’t release it until it’s 100% done which is when the blitz comes out

Why dose it depend on a playable
When they can tweak the weather system after it’s released
Because the last bit depends on the blitz lighting mechanics to work, you can’t have one without the other type thing

If you were to somehow get the FS's PoV you would learn that from their PoV they do not see themselves hitting anything. very mild desync can be stretched farther like a rubber band if the model is hitting something solid from another PoV, to them they are flying normally and it takes a while for the server to realize where they actually are which normally rights itself when the player goes out of flight mode. The FS can't plan on "oh I will collide with this tree and make myself poof" thats just not how that works
I know they don’t poof from their pov, but for others pov they do. They end up teleporting somewhere they aren’t from other players perspective during fights, which is why it can make it frustrating. I’m not suggesting to make them poof at all, I think the title just needs to be reworded.

So now that the topic has spoken about the "what" its time to move onto the "how" cause if there is some way to do this I am all ears. I know that you can't reply for another two hours so I don't expect one right away so hopefully this give you time to come up with working theories or anything.
I am sure now one really knows how this it comes to that so it's hard to guss what can fix it without proper information about the trees or maybe the flight mechanic 1 of this I guess is possible the reason for that problem when not working toghter since the flight still has some problems und the tree hit boxes are not all to hundert percent right
Better servers syncing with the players? Maybe comparing the code between legacy and 1.0 to see why legacy had better sync? Only thing I can really think of atm. But don’t you think that if you want actual solutions to fixing the game you want to hire a a game coder to comb through and actually fix this problem? There is plenty of people in this community that probably already has working solutions, but nothing comes free after all,..
I don't think there are solutions we can give to the dev about this, this is honestly something he has to figure out and test on his own. As unfortunate as it is, I don't think there is much we can really offer with suggestions because a lot of people like me aren't game developers, so we don't know much when it comes to finding solutions for things like these. Honestly, going with what jailbreak said about comparing the code between legacy and 1.0. Because in Legacy the ping and desync wasn't as bad compared to what we've been having in 1.0
We can’t see the code so having a good answer is impossible. I’d imagine a patchwork solution would be from other plays perspective, they see a collision happening, so the server checks for other dragons location more frequently so it updates faster. There’s a long time between the first collision and the teleporting
Another bandaid is to at least give these players a trail to follow
But you can plan to use the trees to dysinc, it’s so easy, all you need to do in a fight, is to fly next to the trees and make sure ur wings are hitting the trees, then on their pov they look like they are dysinc in the tree
