To start off, hi! I have 50 hours in this game and I still feel sort of lost when it comes to combat.

I’ve easily grown fs on official pvp servers, but when it comes to combat, I feel like there’s nothing I can do to improve it.

I particularly have bad skills at chasing enemies while flying (hitting them and breathing fire at them). That is the big part of the issue.

Secondly, when I’m fs, others shoot me from distance (as and ss) in a quick way and I feel totally helpless, even though i have really good stats.

A good start could be to check out Scale worx's Deathmatch sever. Everyone spawns in as an elder with max stats and when you die, you just do it again - its a great way to learn combat and the people on there are often happy to show you the ropes

Playing as an FS:
when confronting a lone SS in the air, try evasive flying and head toward a forest area with trees. it helps block their shots and forces them to land if they hit any trees. you wont catch them in the sky they are much faster and can turn faster as well. once on the ground the FS is faster so move in and hit them with the fire breath. conserving stam while flying so you have more on the ground is a good idea. dont fly up too often and dont sprint.

an acid spitter will run around and jump a lot. they will try to take down your armour and stam as fast as possible so you cant run or fly away. try to use your fire as they approach for more biting.
flying will get you out of range of them fast if you have the stam to get up and going.

when fighting another FS, biting will do more damage and the fire will hurt them but not much. if you can get them to hit a tree it takes a decent chunk and leaves them open to finish off but that's tricky. it usually turns into a bite fight between two FS and its down to stats, critical hits and who gets the first bite.
you dont always have to confront, you can just run away as well.
