Sounds cool but mabey it could be a europeian drago that can swim and fly ?
thats not what european dragons are known for, the average european dragon would be pretty similar to the FS, do you mean chinese-like dragons? that is already planned
But they won't fly, Jao doesn't want them to as it would be unrealistic
only ideas i can think of is duck like dragon that loves the surface but can dive for fish
perhaps take inspiration from a scauldron from how to train your dragon, where it can fly just doesnt like to
Yes and srry i am stupid
Well we got the blitz summoning storms, I wouldn't call that realistic either, so there's no more counter argument to the noodle flying XD
i honestly hope they do not have the capability to actually summon them since that would ALWAYS give them the edge in battle, and have it more as a flashy feature to show to the people, but being able to redirect lightning from storms that are happening at the moment is pretty cool since that is pretty much what they do to breath lightning
They cant summon storms, they summon lightning during storms
The Blitz doesn't summon storms. The 'Storm call' lets them call lightning to replenish their bile to full. This however can only happen during a storm that's already happening.
it's still something what doesn't happen in real life
I believe the devs plan to make a sea drake at some point
well technically it's not impossible. humans developed technology that allows us to summon lightning, it's not outside the scope of reason that an animal could potentially have evolved a similar ability. we already have eels that create and conduct electric currents, so why not a flying lizard that attracts them.
doesn't exist in our reality, but not as impossible as an eastern dragon flying with magic, though i wouldn't really mind magic being a thing in dod anyway
yeah if the lightning hits the blitz itself then yeah it's possible, but not sure if it's just the unfinished visuals, or it's intended, but currently the lightning just hits in the general area of the blizt...
and wingless flight can be explained just as easily as a dragon calling lightning...Fishes, lizards, snakes can "fly" in real life, if Jrakhon's atmosphere is thick enough to support such heavy dragons as an FS,IR or the hybrid, why it's so unreasonable to think that a light weight eastern, maybe with the help of light gases like helium could "float" in the air?
those fish snakes and lizards glide, not fly. and all of them do so via wings, so a wingless dragon can't really be comparable unless you want the eastern dragon to flatten out and glide like a flying snake.
helium is one way to reason it, but at that point why not just say its magic and be done with it, since the biological gymnastics of it somehow creating and expelling an infinite supply of helium every time it flies would get needlessly complicated.
that's why i put fly in quotes, and the closest to having wings is the fish with it's fin adaptations, the snakes and lizards use their ribs...and why not? a gliding drake would look cool and would even be myth accurate with looking like a ribbon, it could have a unique flying mechanics where it's a slow flyer and hard to control, more like sailing on the wind than actually flying
and it doesn't need so much mental gymnastics, an old mockumentary already solved it for you: they produce helium from the food the eat and store it in flying bladders
that old mockumentary also had all the flying dragons have wings. i have no problem with a gliding serpent-like dragon, but a traditional eastern dragon is usually depicted flying without the use of powered wings or gliding apparatus, i'm merely saying that is the type of dragon that requires magic to function logistically. having a more "realistic" version could work fine.
but they were using earth-like conditions and atmospheres, in Jrakhon the atmosphere should be dense enough for lightweight dragons to float without wings
Kinda getting off the topic that Vermax started
so anyways sea creatures... We have few fish and the drakes planned, how bout something inspired by things like hydra, sea serpent or, kracken, and actual hydra and not the elemental version.
I love the kraken idea
