what do u wanna do for degree
I am stuck between cs and finance
What do you think will be better in future?
computer science is great for both careers
so cs over accounting
I heard job market for cs is saturated?
kind of
if u go to a good uni
theres a lot of opportunity still
and for finance cs is still good
You can go into cs with math and physics
Finance is similar as well depending on which one
cs helps more than accounting though
Yeah it does
finance can be great if u like being competitive do what u love cs jobs are kinda shrinking due to v high supply but check unis that they dont require u to take accounting
cs jobs aren't shrinking at all their actually expaning into diff areas
this is true but that doesn't mean theres less jobs
stuff like machine learning is becoming more and more valued
the only ppl who struggle finding jobs
are ppl that do js pure cs at a mid or bad uni
with no portfolio
ur competing with alot of people and tbh cs isnt that high paying with finance there is always opening ur own firm becoming an investment banker
Computer science is one of the most lucrative professions
"becoming an investment banker and opening your own firm" isn't as simple as u make it sound
the issue is that companies want people with more skills than just pure cs
which is why "maths with computer science" or "electrical engineering with computer science" graduates are becoming more sought after
the issue isn't cs jobs not being there its that other professions have the same skills + more
which is why portfolio matter so much if u do pure cs
or tbh if u js go to a top uni you'll have no issues
u gotta struggle to be somewhere and finance worst case scenario is u become a teacher analyst
as if thats easy with the competition in cs
its not easy in any profession? even in finance if u dont go to a top uni your cooked
firms legit have target unis they hire from
and autoreject shit ones
getting into finance it really depends on which subfield
in cs at least a portfolio can save you
What finance sub field is easy to get into
other than like accounting
but nobodys rlly discussing accounting when they say finance
Investment banking, quant, private equity, asset management. if u dont have connections or go to a top uni your cooked
depends on ur grades and experience
if u go to a shit uni u quite literally cant even apply
like u get autorejected
at the cv stage
whats cv
you dont even know what a cv is?
what the hell is a cv
thats for all majors
but high finance uni is better than a high cs uni
CV is european but alr
bro what?
wait till u realise that finance firms hire cs maths and engineering majors all the time
never heard a cs major in a finance firm
do your research
u must not hear a lot of things then
i have heard all except cs
finance firms also have a cleaning department get a phd in janitoral sciences
its also great for stuff like venture capital asw btw
yea its not good for investment banking
but its great for loads of other stuff in finance
cs is a way more versatile degree than finance
espescially if u do something like maths with cs
rather than pure cs
getting into a good cs uni is like finding a blue egg
getting into a good finance uni like LSE is just as hard
I don't personally but its like one of the best unis for finance in the world?
not decent top
and for comparison imperial computer science is 8 percent acceptance rate while lse finance is 6 percent
so top finance is harder than top cs
broski penn uni columbia uni ENOUGH
penn has a 4.9 acceptance rate
but i think he should take a subject which is ez
its a bloated figure everyone applies but decent candidates are a few
tbh best in finance is acca u can skip a leveels
thats js to become an accountant
which isn't that great
this js isnt true
u start early get experience and get into better positions when the other person is studying
easier to get hired with degree+can do higher paid finance jobs than accounting
u earn like 6 figures with acca while software engineers earn around 130k
software engineering in america can earn 500k+
who is giving u these figures
Legit publically available online
that is IF you get into a top firm with experience
and still its around 250k these figures arent accurate
and in accounting u only earn 6 figures if u get to management or executive level
hell no a 3 year earns 100k+
nd works part time
but finance major degrees can pay better but more effort
8 years studying vs 3
proof?
cause it isnt true
a 3rd year accountant doesnt earn 100k+
proof?
i aint got salary receipts
regardless thats still less than cs lol
software enginerring takes 10years with a levels and acca takes 3
it takes 6 years sometimes even 5 what are u talking about
2 year a levels 4 year bachelor atleast 4 for engineering
why would u do 2 degrees
?

i need to sleep
med is 11
im not american but like changing countries
best countries for that is poland or hungary uk way too expensive with no benefi
we weren't even discussing med we were talking about software and accounting
i mean UK has some of the best med unis in the world
u pay for what u get
going to oxford vs semmelweis no difference in us residency
tbf
why are we even discussing med now though
idk i need to study bye
⬆️
bye
If u wanna do finance, accounting is very jmportant.
Otherwose take cs
accounting actually isn't important at all for finance
its one of the least popular a levels for a reason
ecom maths fm is better
further maths ONLY IF UR GOOD
well yea obvi dont take it if your shit at math
but both cs and finance contain math so i hope he is good at it
Bro wdym? It is the most direct subject for finance.
Finance is mangaing money, business is managing ppl, and economics is understnading the conomy. Aacounting is higly suggested for finance, and popularity shouldn't define a subject
Math is to be taken regardless
Its important for both finance/eco ans science
maths is necessary for finance
then economics
further maths
physics
history
and even politics
are preffered
accounting isn't
its seen as a soft subject
popularity doesn't define it
its js unpopular cause it isn't a facilitating subject
