Hi, everyone. I’m an international student currently studying for IGCSE A levels hoping to secure a place at a UK university with a 50% or a full ride scholarship (if possible, of course).

Although I definitely excel in my academic studies, as I come from a developing country where extracurricular activities/ contests/ events are rarely made available to us students at all (even starting a club is challenging enough for us) except in our country’s filthy rich private schools, my dream to go to a university abroad in UK seems to be pretty crushed since most universities and those who offer scholarships prefer their students to be well-rounded in various aspects and not just in studies.

Is there any way in which I can make up for it or what extracurricular activities can I possibly do to make myself stand out? As of now, I’m following my passion in cooking and trying to land an internship for when I finish my A levels.

I see, thank you. It’s just overwhelming to see other people my age’s achievements in their uni stats and all

There are many online courses you can do (most are free).

Here are some websites I have used and recommend:

https://alison.com/

https://www.coursera.org/

are coursera courses actually recognised by unis?
