what i did:

attempt the question first

after im done the question OR i get stuck for a very long time

i look at the mark scheme to the point where i actually did the answer

and then i continue writing my own code

then after im done, i review the mark scheme, and try to actually understand what the question was asking in the first place. Any thing i didnt understand, like loops or some averaging, i learn that

and the 15 marker looks very long but only a few lines are actaully important

P1 and p2

I’ll be honest with you I did terrible at p2

Like the coding was like everywhere, and mind you it was 15 marks

But I still got a star

Point is do very very well in paper1

Which is easy with the syllabus

Just study the other topics

I think I got like50/75 on paper

And 73/75

On p1

And I got like a star

Yeah my teacher had also told us to focus on p1 more but the thing is I suck at p1 cuz it’s all memorizing, but p2 I’m good cuz it has to do with critical thinking a logic which is smth i like to do, it’s just the 15 mark question that is hard for me that’s all. But I’ll take your advice though cuz most ppl didn’t do well in CS cuz they were focusing too much on p2

thats the point. Even if you flunk the 15 mark one, just try to get like at least 50/75 for p2 thats like 25 mistakes. while oon paper 1. MEMORISE tf out of the syllabus i garantee you 74/75 with that for p1

me and my programming pals didnt do well last years 15 mark. THye asked us to do like some banking system and it was a mess. But we used paper 1 to carry us so use that to your advantage. paper 1 is easier than you tink

if youre bad at memorizing, follow the syllabus because i noticed, everything in the syllabus were the only thing they asked, memerosed via te syllabus- not the book. The book like hodder are crap long as info with irrelevent information. Read it for understanding but memorise with the syllabus.

i gave my igcse cs exam in may/june in my country theory paper was cancelled so our grade was focused on p2
i was very bad at p2 so i only got B grade

i gave retake in oct/nov and changed my study method and studied very less

so what i did was my friend told me to use chat gpt

i used it to solve paper questions and learned more on how to handle the 15 markers

on exam day i completely aced the 15 marker although still i only got an A lol

Okay I got the marks of my recent mock, I got an A in total with p1 and p2 (I got a C in my previous mock, so from a C to an A) . I did better in p2 than p1 and for the 15 mark question I got 6/15 which is some progress. Basically what I did is I tried my best to attempt the 15 mark question on the past papers and learn from the mark scheme and where I went wrong and if I didn’t understand smth I go check my text books or notes or using ChatGPT, this also helped me to understand more how pseudo code works and helped me how to think logically.

Overall the most important thing is to try making attempts on the past papers, it may look hard and confusing but trying it and getting mistakes is what helps you succeed
