#IBDP and A - level decision

In A-level, you will choose 3(most schools will let you choose 4) subjects and study them. Nothing else. In IB, you will need to choose 6 subjects, with three subjects at HL and three subjects at SL (although you can technically do 4 HLs and 2 SLs but some schools don't allow it). The subject must follow a specific group arrangement which you can find it here: https://www.ibo.org/programmes/diploma-programme/curriculum/. A thing to take note is that you have to either choose your mother tougue as your first language and choose a second language, or choose two first languages in IB.
You won't at a disadvantage if you do IBDP after your IGCSE. IBDP is way more harder indeed, you need to write your IAs, EEs and so on, but because of that, universities favours IB candidates more than A-levels since IBDP is widely recognised as the most rigrous course in the world.
Your chance of getting to more decent universities will definitely increase if you do IBDP. This is because(according to many alumnae and some of the data on the internet) IBDP students fit into the universities quicker than others and better than others since the requirement on self-study and doing rigorous exams in IBDP.
