it has quite a bit of importance

#

basically, when you apply for colllege, you probably do it mid-year 12

#

so you usually aren't able to post your year 12 scores

#

so colleges look at year 9, 10 and 11 scores

Well considering the fact that you're doing IGCSE (and assumable AS A levels), your scores would be considered like AS level >> 11th/12 grade school scores or predicted grades > IGCSE grades >> 9th and 10th grade school scores

#

So yes, it is important but it's not too important

in the US i believe your SAT/ACTs matter more, but they do look at gcses

#

idk if mid-terms and stuff matter much there

#

in india it's a different story

#

So ofcourse the Cambridge exams are important

#

But do the internal assessments hold a significant value?

mortal spade
#

i don't think they're thaat important

#

but your teachers may write a letter of recommendation

#

so try and appear as good a student as possible

Internal grades are just as important as your final ones from CIE

#

If not more important, actually

#

They're looking for consistency throughout the year; your final grades will no doubt further prove your capability should they let you submit it, and for some unis even serve as course credit (similar to aps), but ultimately they will focus more on your internal grades

๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€ the US system does not have external exams for the most part, barring APs, and even then students do not study all APs

#

although we follow a different system, the same standards will be expected of all students - including performance throughout ur high school yrs

#

a student with consistent A stars will be more valued than a student with Cs who gets an A star in their final exam

#

That's why I'm saying you cannot discount internal assessments entirely

#

๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€ seems like you are atp

#

just sharing basic info, what you make of it is your call lol

#

This is new info 2 me, appreciate the link :) Still, other colleges/unis do exist and Harvard isn't the final arbiter of how diff systems are evaluated -- some do use high school transcripts as well

#

As I said earlier, ultimately how you want to go about it is your call

#

This varies from school to school, my school typically includes grades for each term, from what I've heard. This may not be the case @ ur school, that's fine ??

#

Yeah, so this stuff varies from school to school ๐Ÿคท just offered my two cents on the matter here, but yes, thank you for sharing the pdf ๐Ÿ˜
