Hi, let me say first of all i love the game, however for me it seems to be causing high battery drain issues even when not running.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 updated to the latest version of Android for the model.

I first noticed the issue 2 days ago when I first installed the game after a few hours without actually playing it my phone was running hot and my battery draining by 1% every couple of minutes, I did not think the game was the problem but I run a few checks and cleaned out my Play Services cache and rebooted a few times to no avail, then I tried uninstalling everything I had installed in recent memory (which was Sky and Another game) after uninstalling both my phone went back to normal so i tried re installing Sky (since it was the one I really wanted to play) and for the first 12 hours (I played for 1 hour or so) everything was fine but now my phone started heating up again, it's been about 24 hours since I reinstalled the game and I have not run any updates of other apps or installed anything else in the meantime Sky is the only new application so I think it's the likely culprit.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Sky is a demanding game

Phones have no reliable way of cooling the device like let's say a pc because it's a closed system for portability sake

As you play more the hotter the device gets and you get less performance while draining more juice from the battery

The speed at which you drain the battery and how fast it gets hot depends on the hardware

The newer the hardware the better it deals with demanding tasks which in turn means longer playtime before those negative effects become noticeable

I know, and I mean the game drains the battery when not running, as in the game is closed also from the app manager

Yes force closed and also restricted from background usage through the system app manager

It is normal for the phone to drain more battery as it cools down after playing

But that shouldn't persist for a longer period of time

The first time it happened I had not even opened the game after installing it.

As of now the last time I played it was last night (12-15 hours ago)
I charged the phone overnight and took it off charge at 0600 in the morning, by 1100 the battery was at 30% and the phone was really warm, again I have not opened Sky at all all of today, the Pattern is the same as the one I had 3 days ago when I first installed Sky and then uninstalled it when it caused this issue.

I am uninstalling again to see if it confirms this.

The game process should be killed

But as with all software bugs happen and it could be that the game leaks and causes the phone to think it's running

Actually had that happen to me on an older phone

@cursive bloom the game is the only software change that has happened to my phone i days as I have auto updates turned off and I update apps and software ever other week.

No other applications or downloads have happened on my phone aside from Sky, and only with sky has this sudden heat and battery drain been an issue in weeks

The game basically started a background process causing the phone to heat up like mad

If you can give it another shot

If it's not resolved submit a bug report

Also I'd suggest not charging the phone over night

Yes, there are a ton of safety features preventing overcharging but they may fail

You can see in the charging cycles how after the game was installed the battery drain increases drastically

Especially if it's sitting on full for a long time

I'll try uninstalling then monitoring the battery usage and submit a bug report if the behaviour persists

Do a day with normal usage without the game installed

One day with it installed and not using it

And a day with playing and normal usage

Should give the Devs at least a guess of what's happening

Usually the supported update cycle is 2 full versions

But then again android 8.0 is kinda old already and you should have gotten an update if there was a plan for ut

It’s very unlikely the game is gonna have support for lower than android 8.1

They devs are gonna keep optimizing it but they’re not magical haha
