for clouds glowing (i assume you are talking about them reflecting light), it's probably due to the water droplets in them reflecting off light in many directions

clouds going red? i've only see them go red when you try to step into barriers, at least that's what i think since i usually get knocked away by the red part of the clouds (in forest at least)

so they had no weaponry of their own

but regiments of firework staff guys were stationed in the warships to destroy a fort from above

we know that forts were made earlier than warships because if warships existed first forts would be no use

to stop the advance of the sun army`s advance krills were placed higher in the atmosphere in passes to protect the wastelands from war ship attacks

the forgotten ark was likely collateral damage

This is what I think happened:-
They wanted more and more power diamonds, but for that they needed light too, so the King ordered the people to use the light creatures ( like mantas, butterflies, etc) as a material. Some people went against this statement, they wanted to save the precious creatures which they had.
That's how they got divined into two groups, the one which supported the King and the one which was against. I think the which supported King was team moon and the one's against were team sun. (That's what I call them)
The against group started a war since the king's team wasn't agreeing to not sacrificing light creatures. The wasteland elder, was supposed to fight on the king's side but during the war, he changed sides, he went from team moon to team sun since he later realised how cruel it is to kill the creatures just to make power diamonds.

You'll also see that one sunshield is pierced by spear and one diamond shield also pierced by spear. Which shows that both factions used spears (+ which is why there are a lot of spears)

look at their clothes. they’re different from the cutscenes after they accepted skids’ light

#

eg. in forest, she takes the light and in the next shot you can see shiny patterns on her clothes. but in this vault cutscene it switches back to just white & blue clothes ie before taking skid’s light

i couldve grabbed more ss but that takes time

Their clothes change colour because they have no light. Its been years since they saw any light and its led to them getting extinguished (kinda like how when were out of energy were just all black)
Elders like the forest and isle elders used that light to light themselves up. Vault elder didnt use that light on herself, instead she just let you put it in some power diamond.

Also abt them going back to normal in the vault cutscene: they dont seem like their made completley of light (skids are basically the embodiment of light lol) so id assume they'd have to be in places with light to stay in that lit up form. Though it doesnt seem like it affects them if they have none :/
Plus the amount light we gave them is incredibly small so it was probably temporary.

I think the Elders operate like a lot of older pagan gods; they’re never entirely in one place, but you can contact them through an area that has a large ‘imprint’ of them (ie : temples for Greek and Roman, clearings for Celtic, et cetera)

So part of them is in Orbit, and part of them is in their temple, and part is wherever the majority of them is (since we kinda teleport somewhere else for the cutscenes)

I have this theory that when "darkness" (the fall of the Elders and spirits' civilization) came Wasteland was the last stand before Vault. Vault is important for 2 reasons: it's the place where knowledge and records of the spirit civilisation resides, where the wise lived and dedicated their lives to erudition, a literal vault of knowledge (no pun intended), wisdom and culture so it has a symbolic meaning attached to it besides its "library" function; also because darkness could find its way to Eden which, according to my theory, is on top of Vault (Vault being inside the huge mountain we see along our journey, while Eden being the castle and a little bit of surrounding area-what we call Eye of Eden before entering Storm).

One thing that’s always bothered me is the fact that not a lot of vault is visibly damaged, compared to both wasteland and Eden. Where could vault be located in such a way that its supposed surrounding realms are all damaged but not vault itself? Or rather, what sort of enemy would have Eden as its priority and not care for vault at all, thus ignoring it?

It's floors above are mostly lighted by the "light of the past" and are enriched by some kind of giant memory lantern mechanism which get us closer to Lamed (its Elder)

Good point, but Vault is pretty damaged. On the first floor we see the 2nd floor platforms half-buried in the sand. The archives are also a good example as we see broken walls and dark crabs. Besides, a baby spirit manta died, in Vault we learn the "pray" emote next to a tombstone and we also have the assembly of Elders at the end with Vault elder being the saddest of them (which means that she is aware of what happened and still happens).

So the stars that fell in the begginging were the elders, and they aparently started a kingdom in the clouds with the cloud people, they harnessed the energy of the light and made it into power diamonds to make technologycal advances (flying boats and gates and other stuff)

Well, I like to think that he was the one responsible for the ultimate fall of the kingdom. The spirits toyed around with the power diamonds and may have contributed to the decline of the realms, but the final push was his. Like he wanted to take the whole civilisation to the next level by creating a huge ultra-mega-hyper power diamond (don't know if that may be the true reason though. He may have gotten greedy and wanted to prove himself by establishing his Eden even further as the greatest realm of them all, the crown jewel of Sky realms).

I made a discovery today in regards to the king
We see 2 kinds of king in game. One with the 8 pointed star head (propaganda around the game), and one with the 3 pronged crown (vault mural).
The 3 pronged crown is from a rather old design of the king, and it makes me wonder...are there two different entities here, or is it one entity over time ? Is one of these the Prince, one of them the King ? Is it something else ? I’d love to hear your guys’ thoughts on this discrepancy

These are the possibilities so far:

8 pointed star is the Prince, 3 pronged crown is the King
3 pronged crown is the Prince, 8 pointed star is the King

the eight towers and the beams that intersect through them seems interesting, especially given we see the only instance of four-pointed star figure on top of a building, and we see the familiar stance of the ancestors on the bottom, meditating or sitting. it almost feels like the king or the figure in the mural has been sealed by the eight towers, the recurrence of eight, the star symbolism and that the peak of the star is the source of the beam seems too good to be coincidental.

the former were probably the sun shield guys...

we know the valley wasteland and vault were loyalists because they have pro king propaganda

so my theory about the war is that the rebels steamrolled valley because there were no military installations there

and put firework staff guys on the warships

in my theory, ancestors were made by megan and put onto the world of sky
they lived without the elders for a while, having their own cultures, civilizations, etc.,
then the elders came, and with them brought lots of social reforms. the way the elders ran things compared to the ancestors meant that many cultures and practices died out, either by force or simply naturally
natives refers to ancestors who have held onto old culture and practices and who’s lineage has remained in their realm since before the elders
this is all my headcanon, mind you. just something i made up to explain capes

We have reason to think we know why crabs are crabby, and what caused most of the destruction (a war). While we lack information about the krill and the fallen creatures, the final cutscene does suggest a hunt had occured, and we do know that the krill are hungry for light and willing to eat (living) ancestors

there is a gap between the prairie, isle, forest and wasteland, valley, vault
the latter probably were king loyalists the former were probably the sun shield guys... the rebels wasteland was probably a military base even before the war b/c there r forts there and forts take a loooooong time to build and there r guardian statues we know the valley wasteland and vault were loyalists because they use extensive amounts of diamonds so my theory about the war is that the rebels steamrolled valley because there were no military installations there the loyalists made krill to defent key entry points to wasteland so isle converted trade ships into warships and put firework staff guys on the warships we know fire work staffs r weapons because that's the only non defensive thing the guys in shipwreck have more krill were then placed in higher altitudes by the loyalists to stop the warships that attacked the forts of wasteland from above
In battlefield we see trenches those were probably used to make defilades from krill and fireworks... spear phalanxes were used and the X shaped barricades suggest that there was a siege
the swordsmen were shock troops that jumped into the trenches because that's what theyre good for fighting in small spaces
