I thought the spirits were also stars. What was the point if the spirits being in constellations then?
Well, the ancestors once being stars
Before they died and all
Yeah, the Ancestors were probably stars. Why would they be in a constellation then? Its also stated that Ancestors and Elders may be different, but not entirely different being entirely, making ancestors more of a sub-species of Elders, thus stars.
At least that's what I read in the Canon lore doc
If the elders and the ancestors are stars, wouldn't ir mean they're in the same level?
Just found something interesting while doing a capeless run, though it may be a bug, I like to think it's lore related...
The only darkness not meltable in forest when capeless is that which gather around the power diamonds on the broken bridge.
Assuming that the megabird created the ancestors, they could be some sort of trial version of the elders, and the elders were just upgraded, more godly versions of them.
Assuming that the megabird created the ancestors, they could be some sort of trial version of the elders, and the elders were just upgraded, more godly versions of them.
@kind bobcat
Were technically stars as well so they may be a small hierarchy or generation design in us that differentiate us, elders, and King, and megan
Well it depends on our interpretation of Elders, and Elders are much more mysterious and ambiguous. I like to think the ancestors being the descendants of the Elders, but with time, the Elders' descendants weren't as godly as the Elders
I kinda see Elders being the brightest star in a constellation
It could be a play of like Greek hierarchy you know, every gen down, the power and position gets lower?
The constellations could be just a metaphor or a symbolization of the spirits returning to the megabird
The constellations could show the spirits that somewhat have something to leave behind and end up being a representative of the realm
Also I agree with infinity's idea that with each gen, the power and position gets lower
I think skykids aren't related to the elders though.
They're an entirely different species.
Or another subspecies

That's true, we're not the same but we do come from stars as do tgey
humans may or may not exist in the sky world
What makes you say thay
Hm I’m still very unsure about the whole humans thing
There is concept art of human world but not sure if its official
I think I have a solution to that problem btw
there were concepts where they existed, however it’s unclear if it’s ever gonna be in game
As far as i know, the concepts arent actually canon, it depends on how much of it made it to the game.
True
There's still two years of content we haven't even begun to think about though
The figures in the murals are ancestors when they were alive (i.e. not dead, not spirits, living being with corporeal bodies), and the spirits we see in game are their souls (hence the different names of ancestors vs spirits)
I thought the ancestors were stars before they died?
The spirits (not ancestors) appear in constellations because those are their souls in the afterlife or whatever
Ancestors ≠ stars
The ancestors are the spirits when they were alive
Elders = stars
Oh
Skykids ≈ stars ?
Oh welp, so goes my original theories then- (Hey, the "Light Created Darkness" theory still lives at least)
xD

@lethal stump I heard of a quote somewhere saying "The brighter the light, the darker the shadow", the darkness was a simple after effect due to too much light being used
@lethal stump Using light as a power source was just like burning fossil fuels for power, and darkness is like the smoke created from that, thus harming the environment
one @ is probs enough xD
(Yeah, lol)
was this the theory you mentioned yesterday btw? i can copy message link if it is
Yeah.
(This was my third time explaining it to someone today, haha)
@lethal stump this is the full theory brikeh
https://discordapp.com/channels/575762611111592007/632004389137154048/746356297179463711
(This was my third time explaining it to someone today, haha)
oof xD
copy and save the message link for the future
The sky kingdom was once a kingdom in literal heaven until one kid with a height complex wanted to play god
Though the first part of the original theory has the humans idea, which is probably now jossed at this point. The second bit has the "Light Created Darkness" part, which really doesn't rely on the humans bit
What is the white diamond thing in eden? Why are we trying to get close to it?
Hmm, that's a good question...
What is it - probably just a big power diamond
Why are we trying to get close to it - we aren’t, necessarily, it’s just that the fallen are scattered along the way leading up to it
Though is it still possible to deactivate that diamond?
Now that's a question I'm wondering...
Is the diamond made of pure light?
If it’s the same composition as the other diamonds in the game it’s part light creature, part tree
I think its something used to harness the light's energy to power civilisation
the way the rocks chase you to hit you makes me feel like the diamond is alive somehow (yeye i know probs game mechanics
)
Okay, somehow I just got the creeps at that suggestion...
Well if we want to get into theories and not simply observations, imo it kind of is alive
HOLD ON
My headcanon goes that the king is inside the diamond

Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
Here and pins are good places to start
The Elder of Eden
It was believed he was the leader of the Elders too
Woah back active
mhm
And yeah I’ve been working on this theory quite a bit, I think there’s a fair amount of backing for it
This chat somehow goes alive when I'm around and dropped dead when I left
What the main topic
i just kinda pass by whenever tbh
There’s the evidence I’ve compiled so far
just talking about the King rn.... And how the King might actually be... Gosh, it's actually creeping me out when I think of it-
So I was thinking about the bells and how each of the bells call a different manta, and then on the villages bells, that all three call a certain manta, and then in forest, where there were probably more mantas than the two that we find
So the bells are just to call mantas. Maybe the letters on the bells are just saying what type of manta it will call? I haven't looked at the Sanctuary bells to see how different they are but
¯_(ツ)_/¯ just a thought
iirc all the bells in the game have the same symbols
Could definitely be wrong about that though
There was an old concept art where the eye of the storm was actually the corrupted king
Soooo.... What if we ring a bell near a Krill to see if it responds like a Manta and prove if it was just a corrupted Manta?

Anyone have the bell instrument?

Yeah schloes that’s a big part of where the theory comes from, I figure that they may have just changed the way it was implemented into the game
(Probably not gonna work with that kind of bell)
Krill is structurally different from manta..
Manta is a bird..
And krill is a type of sea life.
the bells are like the tibetan prayer bells irl, the prayers spin clockwise just like the game
even when you manta call a krill it wont respond
Wait a sec... If the King is actually the Diamond (he merged with it), what would happen if that Diamond is somehow broken one day
what if krill are whale skeletons
Also I wander what happen when this exist in the game.. lol
wasnt that old krill?
Gosh, that would the game more nightmare fuel than supposed to
xD
Well, it would make it more creepy though... I think...
I think this is the old krill? Idk
Doesn't say anything tho . No text whatsoever
yep
I want to ask your opinion about this ...
Let's have a scenario..
What happen if krill suddenly exist in this world...
in irl world?
Yes
they would have probably preyed on anything, and since they are a threat people would hunt them / some might keep in zoo's-or-museums / some will illegally keep as pets
saved freed krill?
the usual u know
so krill are like uh corrupted or something
and a few selection would say that krills are part of this world and must be reserved

Yep
imagine a loose krill in a city
let's reproduce the number of krill
how big would they be?
Depends on where they appear. Some places they may hardly be notable.
21 meters
is that the true size?
Idk bricky told that to me
hmm~ okie
mhm
Hard outer shell will penetrate even a skyscraper
Hello Everyone
I am new to all this Lore theory, but am interested in it!
Hello!
Where can i start reading bout the lores?
Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
Here and pins are good places to start
credit to bricky
Ah thx :D
np
in the pinned messages you will also find a canon document, it has all the things that the devs confirmed
not everything in the pins is canon
I think if krill suddenly invade irl world...
I think there would be a war.
Idk who will win because we don't know krill's weaknesses.
true but i think humans sadly have strong weapons that can penetrate the shells since we have weapons/bombs that would annihilate cities /penetrate walls
Mhm
May i know whats a canon and fanon ? I encounter them a lot in the documents...
its usually written whats fanon and canon in the pinned message
Krills ig never existed in bright places right? Maybe they can't exist at bright places... Just some moff theory here 😅
most of the pins are also videos of the spirits/elders
yeah its possible, we've never seen them in bright places
That is a good theory
off topic but does anyone know like the children we play as are? i like to think they are candles but i really don't know ?
all theories are welcome and no one will attack you so dw about just talking/theorizing

Hey giys, what'd I miss
Uh a discussion about what would happen if krill invaded irl world
@winter pawn i like the theory where they are the creatures of light 😁
I think it's possible that they were light creatures once
I once make a theory with lambdaw
That vault is a computer lol
Highly unlikely
But super fun
I feel that vault is the place with the most technologies in Sky, so its kind of likely too 😀
One major flaw of that theory...
Electricity doesn't exist for transistor to exist so then a logic won't be possible
Guys, idk if i get this right... But from some of the documents theories i read...
So basically the realms of sky is set showing the technologixal development being that isle has the least development and vault has the most advances... However during the development of technologies, the natural landscape of the realm becomes more polluted and darkness started to appear more e.g. GW...
I really liked this lore if it was true :O
yeah
Yeah that was probably what happened
@mild lark maybe the red thingy that flicker on and off resembled the bits of data 0 and 1?
Very likely
I like to think the children dirvie from stone? Like stone creatures with light abilities, but I like to also agree they look organic in a way so maybe wax would be a better? I feel like if they were actually made of light, that their skin would glow? But their skin is dark like ash.. not sure exactly but it’s something I’d like to think about
Since they have fire like abilities, and use the essence of light to power themselves ( like a candle? )
Sorry this is off topic to the current situation I’m just like 😳
Oh boi.. umm
But from the ||office|| poster, the 7 realms resembled phases in life, like birth, teens, adult, death, ||rebirth|| right?, but i like the previous theory better tho
xD
Good Night 😁
Alright

Gotaa lo e his concept art
Those are all from the same artist?
yep
Right, they are all in the link lol
he also designed "the interiors of the ship "The Morningstar" for the League of Legends Odyssey promo cinematic"
Does anybody knows where the idea of masks came from? Wether it be canon or non-canon
Masks, symbolically or physically, are for covering something. Maybe people were unhappy with the King, or there were problems, so the masks became a trend.
Are Diamonds called Dark Stones also?
i think so
we tend to call them power diamonds in this channel xD
Does anybody knows where the idea of masks came from? Wether it be canon or non-canon
@hushed steeple tbh it's probably just because cosmetics lol
might be for cosmetics but you can always think of them lore-wise xD
not everything in the art concepts is in the game/canon, so some might be old or discarded ideas
yeah it's also interesting to think about how the default is this and you have to pay to not have a mask
but they give a nice rough idea of whats happening tbh
Yes, was just gonna ask about the Ancestors
you'd think they would make the default unmasked and you have to pay to buy a mask or something idk
Are they the Spirits we meet, or we never met any concept-art-Ancestor?
yeah and the forehead hole makes me go
Are they the Spirits we meet, or we never met any concept-art-Ancestor?
can you explain more?
sry i didnt undestand
(Yeah, sorry, my english is a lil off, I'm not native). But I was gonna ask about the root of the mask with this picture.
The Ancestors used them. But who are these Ancestors? The Spirits?
Or we never actually meet any of these concept-art-Ancestor? That's what I meant
oo
Or are they the Elders?
dw im not native speaker
elders are different than ancestors
the ancestors are the spirits we meet and get emotes from
and elders are like the god of the realms lolol
that concept picture shows you how sky kids might have been created
and elders are like the god of the realms lolol
yep since they fell from the sky, they're different entities
Elders, Ancestors, and Skids are all different species
that’s a concept art, so it’s information might not be 100% accurate to current canon
the « Ancestor » in that art looks like old isle elder, so i believe it’s referencing the Elders rather than the Ancestors/Spirits

It's hard to not link concept art with canon
yeh
oh can someone explain what the lights are
@here
like why there's blue cyan red blah blah
we aren’t able @/here, Romero
Don’t know how long the concept for the lights has been around buts it’s probably the newest thing in the game
I thought it had to do with what they correspond to in the Ark, when you had to do the missions
Like I remember green made the grass grow, and purple restored all the purple tents and stuff
yeah i've only been playing for around a month and he lights seem really random
i actually went there today for the lights haha
Ooooohhhhh
i think the sky turned bluer when i got the blue light??? but i have no idea
Yeah! Something like that. It’s been a minute.
here’s the murals since i know we’ll need them for this discussion
so preeeetty
Ah yes, the middle one is the one I had in mind
5
I remember seeing this way back when it was only beta but didn’t pay too much mind then.
Lol @cedar radish about to drop an entire book 😆
hahaha
I'm very curious about the elders ah
Do anyone have the prelude vid/screenshots
its in the pins
I read in the ideas and theories docs this: "All creatures are born naturally into the world<{CANON LORE}"
But I couldn't find the source, it isn't in the Canon Lore Confirmed docs.

hahahaha
pretteh
Bell
- god lose stuff

just bell
But fire burns on oil?
Are actually oil
@green tartan Yes, could be!
Read this too!
https://discordapp.com/channels/575762611111592007/632004389137154048/746525963537481731
If the wasteland waters are or have substantial oil composition, it would be very dangerous as we would spontaneously combust on contact
theres a chance it is oil since wasteland has alot of factories in it sooo
Maybe it was unrefined oil?
Computer understand that as 0 and 1
I think 1 bit is ten 0 and 1? Idk
Byte is alot higher that a bit..
@mild lark not sure If someone corrected you yet (always alot to read in this channel) but 1 bit is just 01, if you add another , you get 10 which is 2 in binary (instead of our ten in decimal base).
Then Byte = 8 bits ( 10000000 ≈ 2⁷ =128 )
Oh really
I must messed up then
I should sleep right now but my caffeine stimulan says no
So forgive my grammar errors
I do think that this is detachable like battery..
Because it seem to power the whole factory together..
Which is why we see alot of them at shipwreck..
should I delete or recorrect my mistake? @boreal nebula
I'll just delete it..
My brain to tired rn
Ok
But woosh another theory
I do think that this ship is broken in half because of there is no water..
Like it collapse by it own weight.
Usually happens for a huge ship. Especially a cargo ship. Oh look the ship design look very similar to irl cargo ship.
Forgotten
The same can be said with forgotten ark ... With such a huge ship. It can't possibly hold it by itself
Ay yes forgotten...
What is the battery theory?
Umm
The gold jar is a battery because it seem to powers the whole factory.. idk
Might need to see the cutscene again
But it look to good to be not detachable right?

@mild lark I like that! It would explain the water puddles in the sands and the water-ish sound of rocks (which some said to be covered in oil, but they would be slippery, wouldn't they )
Yeah oil will make it slippery
Just walking along and whoops! Your Sky kid is down.
Has anyone else thought about the slightly-secret area in Hidden Forest? The lush green with the whale cutscene?
Pineswood ?
I thought it was called sunny forest
Oh ok
Ö
Pineswood
I learned something new today!
But still
Imo, I think pineswood used to be a mining operation
it’s become overgrown from time
I just always thought that something was... Off?
After all,
The whale shows up in Eden.
And maybe it's a ghost since we see it's skeloton?
At least, that's what my friend told me.
the skeleton in boneyard is rlly small compared to the whale we see in-game
most think they’re separate entities
The whale also shows up in the cloud tunnels from valley to wasteland
Yeah
That's what my friend told me
But it's still kind of weird
That it shows up in Eden
and if it were a ghost, it probably wouldn’t be able to destroy things
They also damage us when in close proximity
Has anyone else thought about the slightly-secret area in Hidden Forest? The lush green with the whale cutscene?
Where does a Whale appears in Forest? Isn't it Golden Wasteland its first appearance? Imma bit lost actually
we call it Tuna King or whale
My best guess
Is that they thought the skeleton
Was the thing
And since the spirit said "Whale Whisperer"
They thought it was a whale
I'll still call it whale tbh
Hello?
Hi
Yes?
I was hearing ur theory
Me too
No, continue 🔫
don’t be worried. it’s common that the chat will randomly die simply cause we don’t know what to say/talk abt
I'm not very good at theorying
are you new to lore ?
And I can't play because it keeps crashing
Theorizing is the correct word
Theorycrafting
Stuff
Guessing, speculating, theorizing, head canon
Call it what u want
In this chat
You are free
Yep

I also don't know like anything about this whale
neither do we
we see it in Pineswood, Wasteland social space, and Ascent
We are flying by the seat of our pants!
Wasteland social space?
yes
I call it Wasteland Hub.
(Or in some cases, our jumpsuits)
it flies by intermittently and lets out a call
look behind you, towards where you come from Valley
I forgot we saw whales in the clouds after leaving the Valley...
(Back then they scared me to suddenly see this giant Cloud Slugs
)
Also in my mind I called Pineswood with Whale Cave/Reservoir or Underground as I read somewhere ( I wish they would put there a Title Captions like in other areas)
First in Pinewood, (Hidden Forest) then in Valley/Wasteland, and then in Eden.
Perhaps it's following..?
(it would even help new months understand those ARE whales, when they appear)
i feel like it’s guiding
since we seem to be following it
Wait what
Mmm. Perhaps, but would that makes him/her the last of his/her kind
IF it's following us
What game theory?
Oh
Mr Bricky Brinson. How could we be following it?
it always seems to appear in front of us, like it was there before we were
and in ascent, it leads us up to orbit
so i feel like it’s guiding/we’re following
It is technically on the same path as the birds, just that it does not take a direct path from which is visible in the playable area
The fact that it wields such an immense power and hurt the sky child signify it could represent a quality/element that serves as a double edged sword
Mmhmm
Oh yeah
And I call Sky Child, Sarah.
Don't ask please
I'm still waiting for whale
once i finish this cr i’ll send a picture
I looked like that yesterday
he comes up out of the clouds then goes back in
Aha
Like in the Oinewood?
yes
Pinewood?
I always tried to catch him
Yes
here’s a better pic of him
the best pics you can get of him are in Orbit
Do tell.
I touched the one in Wasteland and in Eden as well
Hi everyone. i read your theories with great interest and all the docs too. i thought i left you this pictures of the whale in wasteland. i took them a few days ago. if you circle in that area, you can see it from really close.
oo
I think the one in eden hurts us, because in this moment it rams full on in the rocks and that needs quite a lot of energy
the one in wasteland simply glides thru the clouds and is slower than the one in eden
what about the one in hidden forest? under the tree tunnel
never come close enough to test that... i will try tomorrow
I always thought they were coeleocanths, not whales—
coeleo...what-the-what-now?
whale is a fan term
Ohhh
big fish
I see
coeleo...what-the-what-now?
@inland scarab it’s a fish said to be very little evolved, basically a dinosaur xD
It’s very rare and old
just googled it, Quastenflosser in my language...sorry😆
nope german
Ahhh that sounded similar pff-
it’s a fish said to be very little evolved, basically a dinosaur xD
It's actually a really ancient species, probably older then dinossaurs. And if we are to consider evolved as a synonim to proximity to us in the tree of life (which is not right), coeleocanths are more evolved than all other fishes, sharks and rays in the ocean.
sorry for the biological ranting, but I thought I should leave this here
Nono sorry, thank you! I didn’t know quite well, thanks for the info!!
I ramed into the one in the pinewoods, and it still hurt us
Maybe I will try it again, but I cant actually see my light wedges so it will be hard
why do we sink in ice rink water but float in normal water
Maybe because the water is colder and makes us heavier?
was actually really curious about this so I looked it up - not even a swimmer myself, much less a diver, but it sounds like you would actually be slightly more buoyant in cold water (though the difference is minute enough as to not matter, at least within the range of temps that humans could reasonably dive in)
you're also more buoyant in salt than freshwater, but I don't know that it makes sense to suggest Valley's water is fresh and everywhere else is saltwater lol
maybe Isle and Sanctuary could be salt, but...
True.
yes, that's what I'm saying - it doesn't make sense to suggest most locations would have saltwater!
ye
ofc comparing skykids to human buoyancy is probably a lost cause anyway, but... interesting to think about haha.
And most of the time water in higher altitudes like mountains are fresh..
And true

sleep well!! sorry that my answer was basically "no idea, doesn't seem to correspond to earth water" haha
Lol you good
hahaha nah i put the question here for others to think too
ill read more answers hopefully later

Can I ask a question
yes !
I have been seeing this thing about megabird everywhere, what is megabird?
Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
it explains in here :>
Ah, ok, thank you!
i have it saved and ready to go at all times in my solo server
The debate about the cold water...
You can sink in regular water in the game depending on what angle you go into it at-
very true!!! i wasn't sure whether to consider that...
but there's the spot in prairie caverns that's really easy to just walk into, and most other deep enough spots if you're careful (and/or glitch a little) you can stand on the bottom too, so...
Have you tried to swim in the sea in GW (the sea toward the forgotten ark?)
I think the intent is for you to float in most water, though...
oh? i haven't :o does it behave oddly?
You can also sink in forest-
Not so faster but worse
Specifically the sunny part-
Yeah
In that jellyfish part or before the jellyfish comes out?
The part of the forest that had the table and fire. With the bridges that are connected to the trees.
@gleaming flicker The debate about the cold water...
You can sink in regular water in the game depending on what angle you go into it at-
Never known
Ouhhh
I think.....it’s maybe from the rain
where belonging took place.
Yeah this one
Uhh blurry but beautiful🥺
I sunk in that pond
Ouh it does consuming our light depends on our angle huh??
Never tried😅
Well I’ll try it today
And in ||eden||
Both
givvem mine
boring answer: the eden door has been like that since beta, back when isle was a tutorial level so they didn’t really count Daleth as an elder to open the door
cool answer: my theory is he did something for the elders to reject him. i’m thinking he wasn’t on board with the invention aka the power diamonds, and everyone else was, so he got kicked out

summary of mine too
i finf the 'isle is tutorial thing' not a true ansewr
typos
ok i sleep for real this time
Idk exactly why but it’s the same direction as the exit/entrance to vault
So we basically can't defeat Krills and we just get revived and stuck in a loop?
basically yes
But krills aren't allowed at Orbit so when you get there you basically have defeated them, then... you just reborn.
cool answer: my theory is he did something for the elders to reject him. i’m thinking he wasn’t on board with the invention aka the power diamonds, and everyone else was, so he got kicked out
@lethal stump then why is he with the others in the vault cutscene?
the light brings them all back together, Daleth included
Why aren't Krills allowed in the orbit? Is it because it's too bright for them?
They’re creatures of darkness, I don’t think they’d want to go near the Big Glowing Ball of Light
unrelated to above statement
I’m pretty sure the krills are war machines.
I mean, no living creature sounds like...that.
well to be fair
they try to eat the light
i dont think having lots of potential food would discourage them from somewhere
Wait they eat the light? I thought they just dissolve it like how you would blow over a candle type of thing
I just realized all the seasonal sprits with a cape that are found in vault have some sort of gold on them on the edges of the cape
Sky kids are born fully clothed.
With exception of the cape.
does that imply that the clothing is part of the body
seems like ours is, since even when our light is gone our clothes are there
thats.............. very cursed
What
would you rather we became naked when we lost our light

true but i dont like the idea that the pants and shirt are fleshy
they don’t seem to be fleshy
actually nvm skykids are made of stone anyways
I think I had read a couple of speculations by ButterflyGaming (if I am not wrong) about the Isle Elder (don't know his Ebrew name) being outcasted thus why his mask is destroyed & his missing depiction on the Eden Gates, but that didn't feel right for me... But it gave me food for thoughts
Like for example, he is the oldest of the Elders and possibly guided all other Elders when they fell on Earth (of Sky)
probably
actually nvm skykids are made of stone anyways
@nimble siren so you are saying that the rocks around us are... made of the same material as skykids?
And I think there was another gate (besides the HomeSpace and Eden's Hub to enter the Storm) with the same circular shape in the middle of the door, even if I can't remember where I saw it
But besides that "other" door, it can be that both Eden ones have a circular shape to point at the Isle Elder (recalling his staff top part)
And even if this wasn't a reference for him, I thought:
What if the other Elders are there on the door because they were the one who had sealed Eden in order to contain the Storm ?
.
The Eldest Elder was still present in all other representation statues (so I don't think he was casted away) but rather maybe he was the Leader, the wiser and the strongerst who sacrificed for the other Elders to push back the Storm while the others had to fullfill His wish, to not let His sacrifice be in vain
.
Another note is that the Eldest arrives in his cutscene exhausted and damaged with the Storm right behind him moments before we heal Him
.
And maybe with our gift for him he was even able to clear a tiny path for birds to breach into the storm.
Maybe I thought the last part with "Gandalf's plan to let anoticed Hobbits into Mordor" in mind

Ooh, that sounds interesting!
Isle grandpa is so kind
The way I understand it is that whatever is a physical manifestation of light/energy dissipates when our light has gone out
ive had question for a while about our character's light energy: its a super small detail that i guess people notice but disregard,, when a butterfly land on our hand, why does it become pink? i know that we have a connection to butterflies because they charge our wings, but they dont turn pink when they do that...
we also use the butterfly on hand emote to open a door so there has to be somesort of connection regarding energy or something
I like that pretty lil detail too, and maybe its just our more potent light energising their natural color, cause natural butterflies carry varied colors on their wings. As they touch us they became more "lighted" and so more colorful. Exactly like us when we get near Mantas, Birds and Jellyfishes.
Hey... I was trying to write a document about the theory I made... And a random thought came to me
What if one of the main reasons why the diamond at Eden went rogue and stuff was because the King decided to try and merge himself with the diamond?

that a theory that comes up a lot around these parts uwu
Yeah... Honestly, when I first heard suggestion that the diamond seems to be alive, it really creeped me out
Wait, were there "factories" near Hidden Forest too?
the Forest temple is a factory uwu
Ahh, okay, thanks
Are we free to talk about contents of the office here?
yes, no spoilers needed at all
as long as it's lore related yes
When I was reading what can be made out on these posters, I was really pleasantly surprised. I hadn’t taken the symbolism in the game as to aging, but I thought it was a representation moreso of living and coping with the grief that naturally comes in your life. That being said, aging and grief go hand-in-hand, so I’m not trying to be like, “They’re wrong!” I just really like analyzing this kind of stuff, and typing it out helps me process it. It’s really wonderful to think about how they tied the concept of growth through the game so subtly. Not only the concept of growth, too, but the idea of selflessness and altruism.
As I think about it more, I wonder if Krill and the Whales are tied to two sides of the same coin. The Krill are blatantly destructive beings who actively try to harm you. Meanwhile, the Whales, while they never harm you, almost seem aloft, with not much regard to the world around them. They’re almost aggressively passive in a way. Maybe the Sky Kids are supposed to represent a balance of peace/goodwill and defense of those around them and themselves?
That could tie in with the aging with the fact that early in the game, there are no Crabs or Krill for you to deal with. They’re slowly introduced through the process of the game, and, like how you learn to cope with grievances in real life, you slowly learn how to cope with these enemies as a player.
Sorry for the long message!!! This game is just really neat. 🥺💖
I really like your interpretation that whales and krills are two sides of the same coin
Yeah, same. I kinda thought of the Krill being opposites of Whales, but not in the way you interpreted it. Yeah, I really like your interpretation too!
Also, I kinda finished my doc about the "Light Created Darkness" theory
Though, don't edit it if you somehow can pls
I thought I needed to make a doc about it cause I had to explain it three times yesterday, haha
Four if you count the previous night before that
Rainy: I agree with your point that skids are a balance! From the concept art they are shown to be in the middle of the dark-light spectrum, but it can also be interpreted as them being both altruistic and not at the same time (I guess this will depend on play style really, ahaha)
ButterflyGaming, I can't access the doc, even after I signed in, maybe check the perms?
User authentication failed
How do you make a doc?
Uhh... Google doc?
Google doc, though I usually do it locally
Actually a cool theory
Interesting theory, null once talked about the mutual dependencies of light and darkness, such that darkness will not simply "consume" all that of light, but maintains its flame to assure its own existence.
Kinda sad when you think of it...
All of the universe will eventually experience heat death..
Where darkness is light's ultimate nemesis..
I wouldnt say darkness is light's nemesis per say, but darkness is the absence of light, what seems to be the overpowering of darkness is the depletion of light
In our Universe, yeah... Though my interpretation as well is that light always eventually returns from the darkness. Darkness and light are natural and act like Yin and Yang. Like day and night. Right now in Sky, we're in the beginning of the "Dawn" phase.
The long bitter time before the Sky kid coming to existence and after the collapse of civilisation was the night phase
You mean the phase that represents each realm?
Kinda like that? But each Era also represents day and night, where there are times the light is dominant and the darkness is dominant
The collapse of civilisation represents dusk. Its peak was the day. The stars beginning their civilisation was the dawn
Why do we lose light when falling from a high place?
I just assumed it's because we get hurt and thus, loses a light
Anyone would be hurt if you fly at high speeds and slam into a rock face first, right?
Why do geysers not hurt us
You are essentially saying that light is the life force of a sky child, but I do not think it is a direct correlation, we are able to conjure candles out of light, yet we can not replenish light on our own
Ive thought about light is like blood
The game forces you to float unless you dont
You can't create energy
Well, our Sky kid can be interpreted as a vessel for the winged lights, right?
If you "hurt" that vessel, there's always that chance of losing some light that the vessel holds...
That's why we need something to burn to recharge our light...
Yep
You can induce energy though
Yep but you need something else
My main point is that we can perpetually hold candles without draining our own light
Unless the candles do not burn?
And all energy is conserved when the candle vanishes
My point of view is the flame of that candle is the soul of skykid?
You can see that skykid kinda wear a necklace.. I'm not sure because someone told me this.. but that necklace hold a light. But when you bring out your candle.. it gone.
Maybe because the light goes to the candle..
Yeah, I believed the Sky kid was brought to life from light. Making us similar to light creatues
It's how it was depicted in the intro
I think that light is granted to us by either the megabird or the CoL, whoever the narrator is in the intro
so probably a deity figure that can grant a neverending light source
wow we living in a world where you can hold light..
They say "wake up child, bring our lost stars home" and the visual accompaniment is that light thing in our chest flaring up
The light shown in the intro that appears to have brought us to life looks like it came from the sky, so maybe its the Megabird
I believe light is a binding force that wields the dark vessel, when we fall from high altitudes or suffer intense physical damage to the vessel, the force of light then rebinds the vessel together.
Fair enough, cant argue against a deity
no, the light doesn't come from the sky, the physical bodies do
the light flares up and appears on its own
What do you mean?
from this time stamp
the light flares up on its own, right after the narrator says to "wake up"
Look at the intro again. After the stars disappeared, there was a shower of lights afterwards. One of them falls to the top of the mural of the Sky kid. It looks like it brought us to life
Were you replying to my post?
I was reply to @delicate coral
and I was replying to butterfly
The light that comes down from the sky is not the light in our bodies, it's just the bodies themselves
most likely
I think the specifics of that probably aren't of paramount importance anyway
yeah, that streak of light ends before we can see what it does
And then we wake up and then not given actual wings
We also look like a meteorite when we are about to be rebirth
It could be the skykid's body, or it could be the light itself, but since it doesn't follow down all the way there's not really any way to know
Just like the intro
Yes, but it still went above us. If it continued, it would've went to us. It just didn't show that it went all the way down
in my interpretation, the narrator gave light to the sky child(an empty vessel) to animate it. Our movements are impaired further and further when our light is depleted or under influence of darkness. But we do not ever lose this binding force in eden, it simply can not reunite the fragments of dark vessel anymore and bursts from its core
either way the implication is the same, the narrator/deity gave us our light
I agree
Imagine the amount of player is the amount of skykid canonically.. oof
definitely skids are vessels of light at least, not fully of darkness but not fully of light either
I dont think multiplayer is canon, rather a mechanics. I wouldnt expect lore to change everyday/everysecond
Been thinking about it ... the sky world is a little bit weird. Everyone is kinda dramatic and slow. Eg telekinesis emote, you need to lean back and extend your hands; forest elder needs a second for the hammer and kinda some time to encase the light and send it up. Even most of the emotes are acted out in more than a second... Except for Sneaky Survivor and valley elders it’s like agility isn’t a must here
Im just. thinking about this
Just imagining lol
I like to think the light went to us in the intro . It would fit the metaphor of the different stages of life*. The light that went down to us could represent a new soul going to a body for the first time
Time is relative
i think multiplayer is canon, since there's an entire sequence in orbit that shows all friends
and there's other unnamed skids flying together as well
what
why was i summoned
Wow that is fast summoning
say my name and i will come
There's also multiple streams of light in the intro, which may have been the light that that brought us to life
most of the time
We I need help on deciding whether or not multiplayer is cannon
nice
When we try to get the grand answer to things, the answers always so simple than expected I guess
I think it's highly likely that multiplayer is canon
Same
the beta had murals with multiple skykids in them too
The one thing that determines if multiplayer is canon is if the storyline ends at rebirth or is continuous onwards
oh god that king mural with the dead skids
There are no murals with skykids
Well anything in pre launch beta isn’t rlly relevant to the current story
that wasn’t in beta iirc ? i thought it was only concept art, Dropman
i have the photo
Probably is
Beta is subject to change right?
pré-launch beta isn’t technically canon
but that's why I'm saying highly likely and not confirmed
I like to think it's canon
It isn’t canon at all unless u have some sort of parallel universe theory u wanna head canon on
but if youre the kind who wants to obey the canon, then it must be ignored
(from my og acc) but yesh, this mural isn't related to current sky anymore since it's gone now
it would be creepy but cool to see tho
Also pre launch beta wasn’t one concrete story
It was a test version that was being changed and updated very often
Ohh, that really looks like the concept idea where multiple sky kids had ti be sacrificed for one of them to fight the King
😮 hi res
One of the kids is standing
didn't realise you were back
That was never a concept
it was the other way around, one skid sacrificed for the others to move on
yep i'm back just for a bit
am on an alt since i got locked out of my og acc
Concepts are concepts but
One thing I know for sure is that there wasn’t a single concept where skykids fought the king, they were trying to save him
I thought when you fight the King all had to be sacrificed but one so that one kid could fight the King
No
And then you meet the prince.. to fight the king.. yeah
im guessing this is the concept you’re referencing ?
if you want to be pedantic the king tries to fight you
but not the other way around
it wasn't actually a fight, just you trying to survive whatever the king was throwing at you
Yes the king tries to kill u but the skykids never fought
That’s what I’m saying
This one
I see a blank image
I don't know how to fix that
Oops, wrong one
"In the end, they decide to sacrifice themselves and give all their inner light to one strongest descendant. The last one faces the Prince."
faces =/= fights
True, sorry, I guess I said it wrong
That’s....not what that means
that's meant to be ≠
I couldn't be bothered to find the actual symbol
should be "faces ≠ fights"
Faces is not the same as fights..?
Though it still says all sky kids gets sacrificed for one sky kid to face the Prince
Fits the picture from Beta
yes, when it says that the last one "faces the prince" somebody interpreted it as meaning that they "fight the prince"
ergo I said that facing someone is not the same as fighitng them
am I the one who's being unclear
probably
sorry just ignore me lol
This area from old beta?
It's behind the prairie temple
It shows a cutscene towards eden if you're standing the right place
yes, thats from old beta

that used to be forest social space, before it was changed
Owh
What’s up with these two islands you can see from home space
Are they significant?
that’s where the opening cutscene takes place
Oh interesting
I wonder if there's a way to get there
Ah pity
that’s where the opening cutscene takes place
@lethal stump
HUH what opening cutscene sorry
Does catapult guy have a name?
not really
aw
His sword is smaller than battlefield swords👀
@topaz girder @lethal stump
Ash was able to make it 😀

Wait
Wasn't that pine's picture?
I can't remember who reached there before but i remember this picture
ash/pines made it there yes
Ah okay
No it’s pines, yeah ur right
They are 2 different people
The way this is positioned is actually interesting...
It looks like an accurate map of the place
Looks kinda intentional

@topaz girder @lethal stump
Ash was able to make it 😀
@sly kestrel
how thoo
"Travel in a group to protect your (plural) winged lights"
Yeah I think all was seen in intro
how thoo
I think they fixed glitch at home we can't reach there anymore :/ tried with my friends
Any purpose of those?
easter egg
What do they do> easter egg
@tender dune
I thought they have a purpose or something
nope
Any theories on it?
no theories i think since the creatures we see dont look like they lay eggs this size
Megabird eggs
ya'll what even is megabird???
been playing for 5 months but
i dont see any mega birds in the game
Well well, you can see one at the ending credits
/end of the credits and in orbit
/she important but dev smeaky and makes us theorize all sort of stuff
And its also in the office portal, in the water around it
yep
/nice
anyone have any theories on why we get reborn while the skids in Eden don't?
I'm not really good at theorising and just want some other theories so I can sort of make sense of what's happening XD
/they do get to go to orbit tho
but why do they stay in eden as a statue and only go to orbit when we rescue(?) them?
while we go immediately to orbit?
Or do we have to get saved too and it feels like its immediate cuz we get stuck in a timeless limbo or smth?🤔
The thing is Chirch, there is no clear answer that was made, the story is up to ur interpretation
We're probably not the same being as the other star kids we saved. The way we died seems different to the stars and is more similar to the ancestors more than anything.
My personal theory is
The statues we save are the sky children who brought their winged lights to the Storm and died
To what was the very first sky child who died there was giving their light to, it's a case of the chicken and egg thing
The mirror image we embrace is the winged light somebody has given us so we can fly to orbit
For a moment, I thought it was the case when I saw one sky kid breaking out and flying away. I thought it was us for a moment but it could've been just one of the statues we saved
Maybe the first Sky kid is someone who tried to get to the Diamond but died?
Well not giving light to any of the statues still shows the one sky child breaking out so a
Thats what I think, but gameplay and story segregation is a guessing game so xD
My personal theory in the reset is the flame we leave throughout the kingdom don't last forever so we need to constantly light it up to prevent from being completely engulfed in darkness or something.
Light gets trapped in darkstones in darker/shaded areas or within the vicinity of old machinery. Darkstones are weeds!
Am I the only one who interprets this as Lightseekers collecting light...
... and giving them to Enchantment scholars who turn them into magic of some kind?
It was a belief, or at least my belief that civilisation was power by using light as an enegry source. Perhaps those murals shows how that came to be a thing?
/yea i think it's the lightseekers people as well, consider that hat and the umbrella
/maybe the vault scholars was going to wasteland and bring energy but some got shipwreck to ark so they became the enchantment people?
Yeah, the power diamonds are made using darkstone/darkness which was said to absorb light
And maybe every piece of machinery has a power diamond on it.
Im not really sure where else to put this but does anyone know what those islands are? Its bugging me soooo much when i try to find information online!
that's where the intro cutscene takes place
no one's been able to reach it recently though
me
it used to be easier to reach using the normal table surfing method but the windwalls we have right now make it pretty much impossible (at the moment) to reach
Awwwww. Would it not even work with a rocket or something ?
Only one person made it from what I've heard. This is the pic of what the OOB area looks like
Though I believe that the positioning of the murals are intentional.
Normally, places for cutscenes are placed weirdly at times, but this one doesn't
Everything is positioned correctly, and looks like a map.
Also looks very different from the original cutscene too
looks like either a concept, or something that’s a WIP
Or could be the answer to all our questions about the past of the sky kingdom
matpat we need you

it’s also important to mention the symbol over eden is that of the eden elder in the opening, meaning...
Theres a WOT elder
are you new here ?
yes :0
Hello new Lore Moff!
Read this short document to get started! Once you’ve read this, check out pins for more information.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
We're actually going in circles THE WHOLE TIME. Our Home Space is just ahead of Eden if the map is accurate
The thing above Eden kinda looks more like the Orbit. The king was represented as a more humanoid figure in the intro
but look at the symbol
it’s the 8 pointed star, albeit a bit wonky
and the 8 pointed star is the CoL/Eden Elder’s symbol
Yeah, true. But he was never depicted as a 8 pointed star in the mural. Not even once. This was the place where the intro took place, sooo...
Plus, during the intro, the Elders were depicted like that too
yes he was...?
The other Elders were depicted as an 8 pointed star in the Intro, but never the King.
Oh wait, oops, I did forget that part
The star in eden (probably the king) is the 8 pointed star
additionally, his mask is an 8 pointed star
the 8 pointed star is the king’s symbol to some extent
Though the mural in Ash's screenshot isn't an eight-pointed star. It's a four-pointed star
Dont forget it looks like the group constellation too
ive always found it interesting what position that puts us in in orbit
mhm
we’re in the centre
and if you summon all the elders
it’s a mirror of the opening cutscene
- CoL = prince = king = us theory intensifys *
i never noticed something like that
when it attacked the manta it passed next to me with the honk and my wedges came back
im wondering if its tru
The Elders also bow down to you then the crown appears right above in the Vault cutscene
It shows yourself first before transitioning to the crown constellation
There's also a chance the Prince and the King are different characters in the new story. We're the Prince reincarnated. (Not reborn, reincarnated. Rebirth and reincarnation can mean different things)
we don’t know if they’re separate or the same
personally i think they’re the same
it’s just kinda up to headcanon at that point :p
But... That goes against the idea of the multiplayers in-game... Unless the Prince split somehow
imo, multiplayer isn’t lore. there’s only one skid
Maybe
mostly cause most of the pivotal things we do in game are solo
Though I like the idea of the Prince being a seperate entity from the King. There's a theme in game about how the new generation comes to fix the mistakes of the old. What's better than that to make the character a reincarnation of the next gen of the King?
only you can light the fallen, if your friends do it it doesn’t register on your screen
only you can be in the cutscenes with the elders, oobs notwithstanding
and those skids are the end are just your past selves
Hmmm... Yeah... That makes sense

bbye
