Darkness understands hunger for light, and light's hunger for connection. Thus, when our light goes out, it knows to protect the embers and seek out connection to feed the light, which will provide it with food as well

It means darkness knows how far it should go when it consumes light from the kid (that it shouldn't consume the kid when its out of light completely)

The darkness that makes up us knows that so long as the light doesn't go all the way out, it can be made strong again. So if the light is too far gone, it shuts down to keep it from going out completely until it can find a way to suppliment it

When we die in Eden, we do so in front of a huuge tower of yummy light that the darkness wants to feed off of. But there's no light source nearby to rekindle. No others to help. The only thing it has to feed the light with is by trying to generate connection itself.

This almost destroys the darkness (hense the glowy), since the light in us is also able to connect to everyone who was saved, but the light doesn't want the dark destroyed either, and thus cools itself down after the trip

Also as a hybrid, our darkness is p much never hungry. It's almost always feeding, but it caries it's food source.
The light part of us is also rarely hungry either, but only because we tend to travel in small groups

assumptions

elders are stars who fell and created their kingdoms

prince is the leader and also the king (bc “person’s head connected by 5 stars” as first pic in intro cutscene)

king is inside the diamond — the mural is taken literally
gist

elders & prince are originally united and connected to light

prince discovers darkness’ use as technology for progress

elders & prince go into the clouds to create realms

prince -> king at some point, corrupted at another point

diamond exploded. (cotls are welcomed into the realm at some point?) cotls try to stop it and fail. megabird used the king inside to fuse it w light and create skykids

So yesterday in the general chat I mentioned that there are TOO MANY king statues and someone, don't remember who, asked me to post screenshots so they could see exactly how much validation a tyrant needs.
So, ten total as far as I can tell. It doesn't have to be our dimension to have the same sky, depending on what you mean when you talk about alternate dimensions or realities. Some act like the layout of the universe is the same, just the development of life on planets etc. are different. Occupying the same space, but not following time (as a series of events) in the same way. Others however act like different dimensions act as diverging from the very conseption of the universe, and therefore the very layout of stars, planets, etc. would be different.

The way the faces are shaped suggests a mask is still present (did not get pic, sorry), but the absense of the stone is... Concerning

It does open up another possibility though. Perhaps they sell their hairs not because they are forced to, but because by keeping the promise of an ultimate reward, they know they can awaken at least once more.

I actually have a theory about a canon reason for the lens flare, but I’m not sure about how it works in game mechanically

It make sense that orbit has halo ring because ... Well almost like space.
But it doesn't make sense for why an imprint of child of light has one.
If shiny bois was so bright... It will light up the surrounding area.. not like give a halo. You need a humid atmosphere from a long distance to actually create one.

I’ve seen how ancestors were able to mimic the sounds jellyfish and manta rays, but why are we able to use them? Why would these creatures wish to help us?

We are able to use them bcse sky kids are very good at copying things, they copy all the expressions, stances and stuff from the spirit ( yeah don't necessarily LEARN them).
And I think the mantas take us to the places realted to bells and hints cause they want us to put the bells back asap. Maybe all the mantas are a family and they want them back quickly. I still haven't figured out how a particular bell calls only a particular group of mantas.
But one thing is clear, the mantas can't themselves restore the bells, only we can, so Whenever we come near them they take us to the bells so that we can put them back quickly. Idk what's Their hurry? Maybe they want Their family ie other mantas back quickly ???

I guess that would make sense, if anything, they recognize that the sky bois are helpful to them. I wonder what kind of relationship the creatures and ancestors had? Some sort of bonding relationship? Or did they just coexist?
As for the copying thing, yeah. Personally, I don’t see the purpose of mimicking the other creatures since it normally doesn’t do anything.
I know it’s a part of customization for your sky kid, it just makes me wonder. Is it kinda like when people can mimic ducks? It’s just a cool skill they have.
Or, in the past, did ancestors ride on the manta rays to get from place to place? Maybe they were used for transportation?
I ALSO wonder how old the creatures are, do they remember the ancestors if they’re old enough? If so, do they connect that sky kids are the descendants of them?
