i'm throwing in the fart of the eden diamond theory, i was thinking that the scholars knew about the production of the gigantic eden diamond and they had a bad feeling about it, since powerdiamonds were usually small-ish in size

I mean, it could just be chalked up to a neat mechanic to play the game. After all, TGC is very Nintendo where "fun gameplay first, story second." (Fear the Zelda timeline)
