idk why but those lanterns we see stored in vault, i call them diamonds bc idk what other shape to call them
They have secrets?
yes!
those cubes holds more of those lanterns
and those lanterns supposedly have knowledge and info stored in them
Maybe we can get more infos next season!!!
Skykids don't know how to crack those cubes
Itâs like a care bear stare
The medallion disappears when you use your candle
And the candle dissipates into flame specks when you put it away but the medallion reappears.
So the medallion or belly button must be the candle/the light given by mega bird
The medallion or the belly light powers the wings shown in the beginning cave painting. Perhaps thatâs why you canât simultaneously flap your wings AND take out your candle ?
Wait... your candle can be out while someone else is flying... and if you time it right you could make it do both...
Scratch that last part.
@surreal helm theyâre the same statues in Eye of Eden
@compact olive ah yeah, didn't realize they were the same. My sister and I tried oobing there to explore the statues... But we ended up at the start of the storm with the candle statues :/ oh well haha
yooo do the elders have canon names?
aw man okey
do you want to know the names ? itâs still ok to use them, and we use them here often
Isle: Daleth
Prairie: Aylin
Forest: Teth
Valley: Samekh
Wasteland: Tsadi
Vault: Lamed
Prince/Not Corrupt King: Alef
Corrupt King: Resh
voilĂ
yeah they share a name
yes, but they have one name
oohh
i see i see
how do you guys seperate them then? like when you talk about them
do you just say Samekh 1 and 2 ;-;
Maybe I'm late, but I just realized that the mask on top of the door is the old concept for the forest elder?
how do you guys seperate them then? like when you talk about them
do you just say Samekh 1 and 2 ;-;
i tend to call one âsamâ (dora hair) and one âekhâ (anime hair)
i see đïž
however it just kinda depends on who youâre talking to
you can say dora and kakashi and everyone will understand what you mean so
SJSBB okey
What about
sa and mekh?
hush that makes too much sense
Winged Light and Megabird looks the same
Or s and amekh
how
how do you pronounce s
S
ess ?
S
???
Aaaand all this time I assumed that we are the Children of the Light when in fact these are the Children of the Light:
i feel like lightchildren are smaller than us
@brittle gust they've also been referred to as imprints of the child of light
so it gets pretty confusing
and also shiny bois
Oooooh
imprints of the col
shiny bois
col
too many names
also have you noticed that the imprints will always match your skykid's height
no i havent
i think
They look so naive and smol like they want u to carry them
ill go check that rn, iâm height 1 on the old chart
Oh my karen
I've not noticed till now that wing thing on skykids back in intro is our cape but turned upside down
I'm bad to explain
So our winged light seems to be a part of us
we are connected to the child/children of light
and the winged light are imprints of that child/children of light
so I guess we're connected to the winged light in that sense?
It seems to be our core, strength, and everything else
It is who we are
I'm curious though, does it hurt when it's removed?
You mean capeless?
Yeah, but the Cape is a visual representation. I'm talking about the source of it which seems to stem from where the heart would be
We rip them out of ourselves in eden
(Catch me considering writing but this)
It doesn't hurt when your skykid is capeless but.. you can't burn any darkness....
Wonder why
even hunched over im toller than the COL
Use huge spell for better result
What if without winged light we grew numb?
oh boy time to die again
no no like
go to a spot for wl which you already collected
maybe it's just my height matches with the wl height
Maybe size 13 is default height?
are the wl randomized sizes
still taller
maybe cause whoever left them was short ?
Who left themđ
that kiddo is short then
the kid we hug at the end of eden is our height though
so what/who exactly is that child we hug at the end
because i was thinking that it was the wl that made up that kid
then again, we gave our wl to the fallen statues as well
maybe itâs just like...us ? idk
The kid we hug in eden is the king, dm me if you want to know why (canât mention it here but itâs canon)

im gonna dm i am intrigued

why can't you mention it here tho

đ
????
Hi ay
helo Ay
jj
reasonsâą
So we know thatâs the king, but thatâs not necessarily what the king looks like; thereâs a specific concept art pertaining to this lemme see if I can find it

Gonna write some angst of skykids and their winged light

King's faceđ
Found it; but I feel like it was this and something else but I could be misremembering-in this concept art if the prince got crowned king then the king is saving us from themselves, specifically the part of the king thatâs the prince saves us
Wait I feel like the shiny boi in dark room is the prenc who make us able to fly out from the death
either prenc or king
but it seems itâs the king
but if that tiny lad is the king...maybe he was just never called the prince
The elder room?
When you first discovered winged light, you felt warmed. You feel stronger and you felt alive. You found more and more. You could travel farther distances. You could fly higher. It felt exhilarating.
And then you discovered you could loose it. Perhaps a crab hit you a few too many times, or a krill attacked you, oil or rain sapping away at your warmth. It hurt a little bit, having that strength sapped out of you, but it was fine. You could regain it.
You make your way to eden. You think you understand why others are scared to say the name âEden,â with these rocks and red crystals and krill and crab and oil, itâs terrifying. It is a place trying to end your existence.
But you make it through. That wasnât too bad. Perhaps you lost a few winged lights, or you were good enough to not loose any. On to the next part, you suppose.
It says you canât return home after this, perhaps you should be worried. You make it through anyways, thereâs something past there that needs completed.
You see statues of others like you. They need your help, their own light is out. You shudder at the thought. At first, you donât realize you are sacrificing your own light, but as you grow weaker, and as you loose more and more of your winged light, the impact is stronger.
At first, it was just a twinge of discomfort. Itâs a small pinch, perhaps. As you loose more, it feels awful, like being attacked by krill and suffocating in oil. Your winged light counts down, making itâs way down to 0.
You give up your last light and it feels like your heart being torn out of your chest. Your body feels cold, numb. You feel weak, no longer able to skip forward. You can barely crawl forward to the next frozen statue. Your body aches, quietly yearning for winged light once more. You become one of the statues you tried to free.
Itâs so unbearably cold and silent.
That's top of vault?
I have a friend who does that kind of stuff. We went in a group of three, and because I have warp with both we were able to oob easier. (One of us was able to hold position as an oob checkpoint)
Whatâs oob?
Omelet on bowl
Oob=Out of bounds area
Ah
cool pic though
@hushed steeple sounds like a reset barrier. They exist in many places.
Their job is to not let you get stuck oob or get anywhere you really shouldn't be
Kept going 'c'mon little buddy i know it hurts but you're nearly there.'
Oh boy sun in our chest?đ
And then i died :((((
what are we talking about again
Same
I was talking about the idea of what winged light functions as
The Winged Light looks like a Shooting Star! The star and it's tail and falling.
Ye
And then look at the placement
Place of origin looks like where the heart would be
Which extends to a cape
Keeps you warm, safe, and happy
But it still bothers me like if it wants to look like a cape why not make it like this?
Why like up?
what direction were the winged light's ones pointing in again?

yeah, then i think the mural's just mimicking that motif, unless i'm missing something
it's the same general shape as our flight wedges icon as well, it looks more like spread wings when it curves upwards rather than downwards
technically wl make up our cape as well
Perhaps it's pointing up because it wants up, and we're just holding it from falling further
But if it like flying why not spread it?
Symbolism
When it first falls, all it's connections would be to people above
So it more likely look like a falling star rather than cape
i don't think the shape would look like wings so much if they were curved downwards, even if you spread it out further -- this is what the upward curve makes me think of
We can adapt that then contrast to Megabird
correct me if i'm misunderstanding you though silent sky, i might be getting confused from the upside down mural image
No it's okay i think it's confusing
so if i want to know more about Sky lore where do i start? đ đ this channel dates back so long i won't be able to reach the end
check the pins !
Check the pins
welcome to lore chat
check pins for the canon lore doc! if you have any questions feel free to ask here, keep in mind that we don't have much actual substance to work with so it's mostly theories around here
i forgot i can jump đ€Šââïž thanks a lot guys

maybe want to write a fanfiction so wanna check out the lores
oooo
So this isnât like a core part of the game lore but I have a theory that the manta that dies in wasteland follows you throughout the rest of the game
very wholesome
So hear me out:
I'd love to hear more about the theory tbh.
A small manta dies in wasteland, itâs the only one you see there
Once you get to the fourth floor of vault, you can summon a near equally-sized spirit manta from a pile of bones by using the manta call (possibly reminding it of its family and letting its spirit free to rejoin them?)
I like to believe this mantaâs remains, the bones that you summon the spirit from, were taken from wasteland and brought to vault as a sort of proper resting place for the manta
And then, once you finish eden and reach the final corridor of orbit, if you climb up the spiral pathway to the star bench and keep an eye on the sky, yâknow what you can see floating about?
One, single, small manta.
In the place Sky kids end up after they die nonetheless.
what if its near the beginning of the game too but there's just so many mantas that its hard to tell
and it wandered off to wasteland
That could be possible.
Maybe it's the same manta that's near all the entrances in forest and the one that gets caught in the darkness plants when you save it
I feel like this manta needs a name.
Tine
Well that could be possible, but there are actually two trapped mantas in forest
One under the platform that leads you into the final area and another off to the left
two mantas explore the bones of a whale and get caught
He keep getting stuck cause he's a silly baby that gets kabobbed by a krill in the end
NOOOO
Oh man I just came to the most heart shattering conclusion
What if:
Your sky kid was the last one he saw before he died
And so he decided to follow you

Because if he couldnât succeed
He at least wanted to see you do it.
And at the end, he joins you in orbit for a final farewell.
I'm scream crying. Excuse me.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

What Fanboy said

I'm just going to sit underneath a cold shower fully clothed and sob for a year, thanks.

I've actually been pretty interested in death of animals in the game though tbh. Lots of really interesting details that I'm trying to piece together.
anyways ouch juice is probably oil,
I'm crying over a manta. help
yanno if you lurk in krill swamp after manta gets et, it respawns and gets et again over and over... wrt names, how about Rey? cuz manta rays but also âreyâ is Spanish for âkingâ
i mean what if the manta is already dead and it's just the spirit of the manta coming back and respawning to help skykids because it knows the krill is gonna krill
We be talking mantas rn but have u met this chonky friend?
tuna king
I wanna hug it
you can hug it in Forest
I can hug it in orbit
If youâre too lazy to go to eden
it's in an oob area
and till this day i'm still trying to figure out why these whale creatures isn't given any bigger role even though we have them as stickers XD

it's so pretty
Forest elder is hella rude
The twins are chill, they ask respectfully but it turns into a game and they include you in it
You bounce it with your head once
Itâs cute
I thought we were trying to catch it and it bounced out of our hands
I never knew until now that the forest elder area is very identical to the wasteland area where the 1 krill is
it's interesting how the first four elders all take the light and do whatever thing with it, but wasteland and vault, you're the one who puts the light in the spear and the diamond respectively
I wonder if those elders are the most tired ;v;
Vault seemed like she wanted us to own our actions. To understand what it was that we're doing. Of course we'd be active in that. Wasteland seemed exausted and didn't know what we were gonna do
oh, true
i wish whales had more role in game
btw, ive seen lots of... statues? with king's head in golden wasteland :0
It's king propaganda
I might look around to see if there is some in other areas as well
Although I doubt I'll find anything new
oh, can you tell me more about it?
Perhaps wasteland elder wasnât going to try and make anyone do something? Or itâs a âI will not take from anyone againâ because heâs seen the wars that occur because of it
Vault seems to be quiet and nurturing and the player seems scared at first (not that I blame them with the actions of previous elders and krill and all that), but vault encourages the player to do it themselves as a âyouâre safe hereâ gesture
hmmm
We be talking mantas rn but have u met this chonky friend?
@frozen pivot
F r e n
Vault seems to be quiet and nurturing and the player seems scared at first (not that I blame them with the actions of previous elders and krill and all that), but vault encourages the player to do it themselves as a âyouâre safe hereâ gesture
@modern smelt Thats what i thought.... then i realized that she might be holding some terrible secrets
who knows
And honestly, the ultimate reason the sky kingdom is so screwed up is because of the king
it's interesting how the first four elders all take the light and do whatever thing with it, but wasteland and vault, you're the one who puts the light in the spear and the diamond respectively
@mental narwhal
It's because the closet they are to Eden the weakest the elder become. To the point where there is no Eden elder. That's elder its you in my opinion, since you have become the most powerful of them all, because you give them light again
what if there were 2 entirely different kingdoms
kingdom of light and kingdom of dark
both kings were twins (for a reason, they both exist at the same time)
evil kermit intensifies
what if there were 2 entirely different kingdoms
@hushed steeple
I mean kinda?
You literally descend into earth at the start of GW.
Those are the only maps with seas
No thats not what i meant
i meant kingdom of light and dark
E V I L K E R M I T
Before flying into the ||orbit|| does it takes place in Valley? The structures are kinda similar
ohh! i think it goes thru the ruins of the previous worlds?? bc it even had jellyfish from the hidden forrest
but not sure
orbit might be an alternate reality
ohh! i think it goes thru the ruins of the previous worlds??
Yeah! Like some kind of recap or look into what would happen if the destruction reached them?
Yeah! Or maybe the destruction already did.
Noticed a bunch of odd things in gw
First of all this black and purple sludge
The pattern on the floor here
And I also found this semi-oob
anything in sky: exists
lore channel:
đ€ what could this mean?
@static spoke
the pattern is just the texture for stone, iâm pretty sure
a funky texture
wht could hav made it đ€đ€
the pattern is just the texture for stone, iâm pretty sure
@lethal stump reality is often disappointing
indeed
Sorry, I didnât understand what you meant Kerfer
thats a meme reference
basically i was disappointed bc that pattern thingy was just a stone texture
There are also 6 extra doors in the GW temple
y o u r e r i g h t
đ€Ż
So the stars we pick up are literal stars, like the spirits weâre praying then a star fell from the sky then boom we can fly
thatâs a possibility, ICantThinkOfAName, but the things we pick up are called « imprints of the child of light ». does that make the child of light a star ?
Yeah it does look like that
If the stars we pick up are children of light then the stars are alive??
So the elders have kids
In eden what happened to the kids like why are they crystallized?
I think they deaded
And there's no option to give them light
the devs have said that winged light are the imprints of the child/children of light
i donât think elders are able to have kids, but if you think so then go ahead
it's somewhat confusing because the devs referred to the child/children of light in both the singular and plural forms in different livestreams
And there's no option to give them light
which kids are you talking about ? the ones in stormlock ? youâre able to give those ones light
which kids are you talking about ? the ones in stormlock ? youâre able to give those ones light
@lethal stump
No the ones on the way to no return
let's play game mech or lore
They look like the ones on storm look but with crystals
short answer: we really don't know why we can only save the ones in stormlock
it really honestly seems like it's for game mechanics
itâs for you to make your own theory
i try to explain game mechs with lore the best i can cause its more fun
Before we get to the place when we canât go back there are a few kids that just like blow away when we walk past
THAT'S WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT there are also some that are full of crystals
why do you think theyâre there, Xkinso ?
I don't know but I might think OK wait I'll explain
Maybe the crystals are darkness and grow out of the children since they have no light to move or something idk but there's still a soul inside just no light and once there's enough darkness the child transforms into krill maybe
Idk
interesting theory !
Maybe theyâre long dead corpses that have been eroded by the dust or something? And what xhinso said
maybe since they dont glow they cant be restored anymore
Before we get to the place when we canât go back there are a few kids that just like blow away when we walk past
@peak locust thank god, i thought i was the only one who paid attention to those dead kids
Lmao
Wait the crystal stuff sorta looks like the green barbed wire from the battlefield in wasteland
Maybe they crumble because not only of their lack of light but because they are calcified (I think that's the right word?) Like the people who were preserved in ash in pompeii
That makes sense
It doesn't look like krill can make baby's
But the thing that would make the most sense is this
Bam
Whale Boi
When we die in eden do we become children of light? Is that why thereâs new stars with new seasons? Or maybe the new stars are a bunch of us together since we heal other players so together maybe we become stars
Like when we deep call or just stand next to another player we give them light
Krill could be the infected with darkness versions of whale bois they kinda look alike and the krill are smaller so whale bois would probably slowly die and their skeletons would probably transform into such things like krill and then they would try to search for light to heal themselves but it wouldn't work
So krill are dead whales?
I think
What are crabs then
Also I would just like to say there are two crabs that donât ever attack you in the new area
wait really? i didnt know that
Would if the same thing that happened to the crumbling kids in eden happened to the krills cuz they both leave dust stuff behind the
I'm sure I've seen the swirly pattern elsewhere too, maybe Isle?
It does look pretty cool though
I FOUND IT
it seems that crabs with dark particles attack, whereas ones without donât
I was thinking something to do with sunlight
if dark creatures take energy from light, could they just eventually photosynthesize?
oop you beat me to it
Wait if creatures can do that then can it happen to dark plants
There are 2 dark plants directly in sunlight in sanctuary
sunlight would be less concentrated than a candle flame right? but im stretching lol
I'm still trying to figure out what the crabs walk looks like
then again, crabs can damage us (eating us?) and we literally carry a flame in our chest so maybe dark plants are just weaker
we cant damage crabs either
the crabs walk like bats
Interesting, the sun in our world is a star, would it be in Sky?
We established stars are spirits in the intro cutscene "bring our lost stars home"
In orbit we kinda go into the galaxy so maybe not? Cuz if that were irl we would die
Also in the office itâs possible to go to space
Thereâs a spirit on the space station
i mean we are stars too right?? just not like........ irl ones
the stars in the intro are elders
Oh yeah
office isnât part of the lore, just an easter egg
So then are there multiple types of stars in sky? Or do irl stars just not exist
Oh yeah
So the sun in prairie could be the prairie elder?
Maybe I'm taking the analogy too far
the stars in the sky are implied to be light creatures right???? because we see in orbit that things that look like stars are all skykids and stuff flying around
hmm but then what holds the planets together
So then is the sun that really big light creature?
maybe??? although it could be a cluster of mantas or something
If only I could be so grossly incandescent
my life goal is to transform into a lamp
Maybe gravity works different since we can fly with just light
maybe
Hmm if the sun represents the time of day, it also represents the elders, as the 2 are linked in the kingdoms.
but maybe we expend light to raise us higher to the light??? if that makes sense like light attracts light the same way dark attracts dark
We never see the sun in vault so maybe the sun is getting weaker along with the elder?
The devs confirmed that the âstarsâ in the intro were referring to the elders
If ur wondering mael
@sly kestrel yeah, sorry I said spirit when I meant elder there
We also donât see sun in wasteland well not really
I was thinking ancestor but knew that would be mistaken
it.could be poetic language
@peak locust equally, wasteland elder is at the point of fainting when we see him
If the elders are the sun then does that mean each kingdom is a separate galaxy
Well solar system, but I wasn't thinking that literally as its used in metaphor
but the sun is hidden in the clouds! and could be potentially seen again, like when you light the wasteland elder and restore them
Oh yeah I meant solar system
And valley is the "golden hour" before sunset
If thatâs true then that could explain why each kingdom is at a different level of engineering? Idk the words Iâm thinking of
Forest and rain kinda fits too, the elder is lost creating the power diamonds / darkstones
But every level the building and machines are better
because uhh
valley is supposed to be the 'height' of civilisation, benefitting the most from the use of power diamonds
Only one that doesn't is Isle, as its youthful dawn, but elder is older to fit with how children see adults
forest was involved in the production of power diamonds so they were kind of advanced but not as advanced as valley
that's what i think
Well each day is new but there have been millions of new days
OK, that could fit, the isle elder is old as a guide through the night, whereas vault elder is old in wisdom
Since every time we go through eden we repeat it again the same happens to the levels but itâs still a new experience every time
We just have already done it even though weâre doing it again
I had another theory on that, that we as a light consciousness hops between physical bodies after rebirth
Or maybe their influenced by the players In them. Isle is new then they get more and more experience
Our physical selves being trapped in Eden (for a week as per the gameplay loop)
oh! I have a theory on that
That our dead selves join together with other dead players to make new stars for the new areas
So dead players turn into stars
By stars, the winged light?
Yeah
Or the new seasons spirits
Speaking of that where do they come from?
Maybe both tbh, as seasonal spirits have their own constellation too
Like we see them at home but where is home?
An island in the middle of nowhere only connected to other places by ports,s
*portals
Home is the only place where time moves on as per our real world, where time in the kingdoms is fixed
Though the end cutscene of Belonging showed sunny forest at night...
Making me wonder if the travelling spirits were more "time" travellers than physical travellers
But we can change the time by looking at constellations
And maybe their both?
Like the sanctuary spirits seem closer to irl with sunglasses and like Hawaiian shirts
Likewise, they all really belong to "summer"
And theyâre trying to get away from People
And I guess we could say we are currently moving "through" summer
Which is something all of us need to do rn
So we are the time travellers
So are we just looking at the spirits in different times
all spirits in game are from the past, the civilization and its people are dead
Constellations in our real world kinda work like that
Being obscured by the sun / horizon
Thatâs why we can just move through the even though each have such different times and cultures
And when the civilization died off they got stuck in that part (like a temporal Pompei)
I FIGURED OUT WHAT HAPPENED IN GRAVEYARD
Haha I like the idea of Edens diamond being a time Vesuvius
If the seasonal spirits are time travelers is that why they can come back?
What happened
THOSE CREATURES WERE HARVESTED TO POWER THE EDEN DIAMOND
How?
Hmm, we have evidence of manta being used in forest, could be likely
Maybe thatâs why they try to kill you
They donât want you to get to eden to revive the kids
In game we see that butterflies were used to make darkstone, and in concept art that mantas were used as well (and thereâs the large pots in praire temple, and the HUGE pot that the entire shrine sits ontop)

Wait what is dark stone
So canonically it would require a LOT of light creatures to make the Eden darkstone
Or just a few BIG ones
Darkstone is what the devs call the plants, but I think has also come to mean power diamonds
Darkstone/power diamonds
That also works with a theory from earlier that the krills are the skeletons of the whales
Also thanks
darkstone means plants ? when did they call it that ?
I feel like thereâs concept art where darkstone is directly used to refer to the diamonds
AH I remember
« The darkstones are related to the downfall of their civilisation »
Yes the Tom Zhao factory drawing
@lethal stump there was a patch note saying "moved darkstone" trying to find it now
Fixed Darkstone in sunny area of Hidden Forest that was buried in the terrain
That was tough to find but finally got it
It was just something I picked up on when hearing the developers on some of the conferences that they meant something specifically by darkstone, but may be relevant to power diamonds still
bring forth the tomcepts
That power diamonds cause dark plants so "darkstone" is a catchall term
Oh I was thinking artificial star
It started when a mod said darkstone=power diamonds and Iâve just ran with it ever since
I feel like thereâs more concept art backing it too
Anyways yes, I think that the creatures in graveyard were killed to power the Eden diamond
Yes, though I like artificial star to power diamond as a term, power diamond is more descriptive
So then could we just assume that the other creatures in other areas were used for the same purpouses
Talking about darkstone i see
Artificial star sounds
Yessss precious

@kind bobcat more like trying to define exactly what darkstone is but yeah, always
I donât think that krill came from the bones of those creatures, but corrupted elder creatures like we see in vault, as that level of vault represents wasteland and which means that cosmic whale is related to wasteland somehow
I wonder if you could condense enough light you would be able to make a star
Light is
Intangible
That's why the ancestors used darkstone/power diamonds
Since they absorb light
"artificial star" does sound awesome
Wow I forgot how addictive this channel is, thanks for the lore talk y'all, I need to get some sleep

Oof
o it does make sense that the big animals in graveyard did power that eden diamond
that thing's gigantic and so are the animals
Yeah
that mustâve taken a lot of manpower to get the light out of them
no wonder wasteland had to be so heavily industrialized
I wonder if itâs the same for vault
Like thereâs no natural anything
And itâs right before eden
also i feel bad for the animals that were used to power the eden diamond like
DID THEY GRIND THOSE ANIMALS
Where did this seasons quest giver get the cape
ANIMAL CRUELTY

Like Is that an actual dead manta
Maybe thatâs why their trying to get away from everyone
YOU PUT A DEAD MANTA ON UR BACK NOOOOOO
Cuz their secretly helping eden get stronger
U kno I actually never thought of that
Everytime a player gets the ultimate reward, a manta is slaughtered
maybe manta skins are like leather to them
Lmao thatâs the first thing I though about when I saw the cape
Oooo manta pelt
Kinda like how we.....make a dumb carpet out of a bear BUT ANYWAYS
Nice catch there
Jeffrey
new crack theory:
sanctuary dad = first wasteland krill
never heard someone name the krill
No the chat named the manta something
idk that manta's name but i'm calling em jimbo
yall lets name the krill noir
Thatâs a good name
name the krill thysan, from thysanoessa the krill genus hehe
the first krill?
does skykids have the capability to understand their actions and horrors of eden? ie are they .... like kids
tbh, we don't even know if skids have feelings
all the emotes we get are just copying what spirits do
i guess they gain feelings as according to emotes?
i feel like skykids are emotionless vessels, but on the other hand them being actual children makes the game so much more angsty
i take it that every action we took is what skykids can do (like the way the knight can do things in hollow knight)
oh funny im writing a headcanon for skykid culture rn ajshsgdf
(the funny thing is after eden you get a hug emote out of NOWHERE, unless its from upgraded friend level w ur friends)
hmm true, then a skykid learns emotions?
imo i dont believe they are like kids as us. they may be godly kids which means they may be aware of what theyâll do
(and i hc megabird saying âbring them homeâ means saving the Lost Ones)
perhaps, or they're just doing all the expressions because it's peculiar but interesting to them
i guess it depends on your skid and how you control em? you can do literally anything you want, you don't have to go to eden, you don't have to save or burn anything.
ya i dont plan to go to eden
up to you
i'm not sure on why we're called skids, i should go digging back into the sources and the channel but i think it's partly because we're very very small
if we're going the 'skids are literal kids' route though, it is pretty sad if they're like.. emotionless. it's also pretty sad that skids are just thrown into the world blindly. to put such a huge responsibility on a child who was literally just born into the world
skid: * is born *
megabird: time for you to save the world now * yeets the baby *
skid: * is born *
megabird: time for you to save the world now * yeets the baby *
every YA novel ever
i posted it in #sky-memes
lmao it does sound a bit like a ya novel
thankfully skids aren't mary sues
we are sent w a sense of mission, or just with a mission, so i doubt they are literal kids
but its funny they are sent on a blank slate and learn later on.
its like kids
but as moffs skids are just.... kids
bumps into everything
Literal kids can have a sense of mission
âWhere the i am â

The lore of sky is just the egg theory
the chat named the manta something
@peak locust @gray bridge the chat and a dev named them sparkles

Well sparkles is better then tine
Erm I canât find where they were named sparkles I might be wrong
OH
I REMEMBER
it was in a letâs play with a dev
In golden wasteland
what did i miss today?
Doing the crab emote of belonging in graveyard iirc
yeah, sparkles sounds better for the manta
hey guys I donât really know where to ask this other than here but whatâs up with all the pipes in wasteland :0
it's to emphasise the theme of over-industrialisation and pollution
the pipes are seemingly involved in the production of power diamonds, or at the very least, directly involved in the production of the polluted water
....I may have misremembered that as well, I canât find the video. I found the gratitude livestream in wasteland tho
they seem like sewage pipes, so it could've been some way to offload the refuse from production
Maybe the video wasnât posted to YouTube
the links between the pipes and pollution/darkness is made clearer in eden, where the large one you climb midway into the second part of eden has bits of red crystals clinging to the inside along with the black water pooled at the bottom of the room
nothing associated with the pipes is considered good or healthy for the sky kids
The pipes? no good
mario coming out of one of those pipes? definitely no good
further evidence that mario world is connected to sky??? confirmed
no wonder reika said the king went to mario world, it all makes sense now
the true theory
Aaaannnd itâs not on their twitch because itâs been too long
did TGC do twitch livestreams as well?
oh dear; twitch isn't a bad viewing experience, but it definitely doesn't help that they delete old archives after some time
we need records for lore
maybe some mad lad will take screenshots or record stuff
i hope the livestreams were saved by tgc somehow, but who knows
people tend to reupload streams
ive been trying to archive interesting sections of this chat but its active when im asleep
we need records for lore
@orchid crypt we have records! Thatâs what my pinned google doc is
i've read through that, yeah (thank you very much by the way!)
OH AND YES I remembered something obvious weâve been over looking THIS is lore related somehow
but we can never have enough records from TGC streams or announcements until we have them all
i'm pretty sure the red crystals are like, crystallised darkness residue or something, but did you have a different angle on that screenshot?
Mochi did a pretty great job of making transcripts of the Japanese livestreams
Iâm there in eden right now, do you want a close up?
may as well if you'd like, in case we miss any details; i'm not too sure exactly what's drawing your attention though if it's not just the fact that there's red crystal residue inside that pipe room
i don't really see a pattern or image to it
also a fun fact: there's actually a room below that room that you're not supposed to get into, but you can glitch in by accident
what the...they're not actually stuck to the walls
i wonder if that's a visual glitch, or whether they're meant to float like that
i think that just looks like a glitch because they look a little flat
the floor patterns look like the latticework seen in valley/gw
@orchid crypt theyâre supposed to float because so do murals
Which is why itâs interesting that this doesnât float
Murals float btw because itâs easier for the devs to code
oh right, now that you mention it, they probably float them to prevent z-fighting (a visual glitch where the textures seem to rapidly flash because the game doesn't know which one's on top)
Also I got my daily quest flipping crabs in eden just now in that room
where is that wasteland image though, i don't recognise that spot
Somewhere in battlefield I guess
Skykids and/or the older spirits appear to be carnivorous
The roasting crabs, the hunter spirit in forest is seen to have a bow, and (besides perhaps the mushroom that a spirit from enchantment had) no other things are actually seen being consumed
I started playing just before the beginning of enchantment so if I missed somn from the other seasons doont blame me
But I like this theory
...also consider that the animal masks such as the ox mask display creatures that are normally herbivores to have sharp teeth
im not sure if this supports anything but it came to mind
this channel's all about speculation, so that fits the bill in my books
@normal berry @orchid crypt itâs intentional definitely because why else would it be there, but it has been half removed reports Oz (the top half)
Itâs just north of the bottom winged light on that wall
Unrelated: yays I got to post my battlefield map to the lore channel for lore reasons
thanks, i'll keep in mind to go check it out when i'm next down there
for the wiki maps i hope the pics could be updated with krillâs lightâs route as well
itâs one thing to float from one place to another and another thing to sweep your gaze
ofc that requires bravery
Krill light routes are random sadly
Thereâs even some variety in their path, they wiggle along them sometimes even do tiny loop de loops
those things are pretty darn smart. they learn to look back. and something about the way they sway their look is shaky, rather than smooth camera pan.
now i doubt that they are artificial machines
(or mb w some semi metallic sound when they run red on you, they are. mb they can focus on ppl perfectly in the past and then malfunctioned)
At 1st I thought they're robo
But it seems they are not that
Maybe they can also thinkđ
I took a few pics of the crumbling kid statues
Yeah, the wind sucks
There are actually two in that picture but the wind and rock rain covered it.
Here's another
I wonder what makes them different from the ones in stormlock.
I had a real twisty theory a while ago abt. Krill... tbh I have several but this counts.
Not a very serious theory, just thought it's cool
Krill definetly look pretty old, may be malfunctioning now since most of them is mechanical.
The kingdoms got too advanced I guess, as there's no evidence of whatever the skyfolk were fighting so hard against but the krill, so I can only think the krill themselves were a product of them. Maybe they gained sentience and turned on them if there is no other real enemy, skyfolk brought upon their own end by practically ripping a hole in reality for who knows why, probably something to do with the red crystals. Krill are depicted in murals destroying ships, perhaps interrupting shipment if these crystals or destroying the light of the skyfolk to end their race and stop their irriversable damage to the world. Now violently defending the polluted and damaged areas from skykids who are ultimately unaware that the spirits were the cause of the downfall and carnage, tasked with going through an existant form of hell and death to return the light... in result, it creates and endless cycle of death, sacrifice and rebirth, like rain world in a way. Life and death connected like a ring. The krill charge and destroy the light of the skykids as they have no advanced logic or ability to stop them from passing and maybe someday reviving the skyfolk and letting their destructing of the world continue.
Well thereâs a lot of evidence of a war of some sort, maybe a civil war. What if they were created as weapons but they malfunctioned?
uh this isnât really serious, itâs more just a thing i thought about during my first time going through eden.
so the winged lights are shaped like children
and when i saw the statues of the children at the eye of eden, the first thing i thought was that the statues reminded me of the winged lights, as if we were giving the winged lights back
this is probably not very accurate but itâs just a thought ig
Goober you forgot the frozen one@kind bobcat
@chrome hollow as I said it appears to be a ring of sacrifice and revival. Skykids turn to statues (die), more skykids go to revive them, then die, then the revived ones revive the dead ones, and so on.
@kind bobcat hereâs up close, they crumble only when you approach from below
i wonder why we can't save them
Thereâs also the person by the trebuchet we canât save either
Thatâs a good question to ask the v devs, why canât we save them ?
yez
and they do look like they're wearing the skids' attire as well
is there a list of questions that we should ask the devs whenever any of them pop in
You guys forgot this
I wrote angst on wasteland elder if anyoneâs interested
@modern smelt oo?
oooo
Ye
much thank
abcdhzxjd
i always think that they people of the civilization (valley) tried to copy eden that resulted to a grave consequence idk skskskks hello lore peeps!
H e l l o t h e r e
In regards to the person talking about the dead skykids with the blue crystals, I believe it's a remnant of back when Eden used to rain blue rocks, and instead of the darkness spore things that stick to you players used to end up with bits of rock stuck in them. So they're probably just dead skykids. I dont know why they were left in after it was changed other than as a call back. I have no idea about the disintegrating ones though
I believe ur referring to the old eden from sky light awaits and you are correct
Back then, blue darkstone would be in eden and when u were slowly dying, there would be blue crystals coming out of you
the blue skykids we see in the modern game look pretty identical to this concept and in my assumption, I believe itâs a beta memory
There are lots of em in game
I was rereading and I saw that people were talking about the whale that's going up to the orbit. So I wanna share some close up pics that I took some time ago. Haha.
Whale pics are always appreciated
Is the whale the one you see before entering the wasteland?
I've been thinking that the krill look like a skeletal version of it
ah yes, karen
there's a megakrill?
just a theory
since there's megabird that's like
the god of light
what if there was an equivalent deity but for darkness instead?
but i don't think i've seen something reminiscent of a megakrill anywhere in game and concepts art
shipwreck
ohhhh
krill horns
there are krill horns?
they have come so far
Could the krill we see in wasteland be just merely hatchlings
And the megakrill roams inside the clouds
what if the megakrill isnt a deity but a common creature
megakrill has been around all along we just haven't seen it
Well those horns are from that krill which is patrolling around the ship
The krill has 2 less legs than other krills
Those aren't horn those are legs then
Hereâs an idea for yâall, maybe the land we know as Isle-Eden (specifically Eden) is the only point in that world that is connected to Orbit so thatâs why all seasonal spirits show up here when they die, so they can get carried by us to the after life.
So following the mega krill idea, what if it is in an alternate reality where darkness prevails and instead of having creatures of the light, thereâs creatures of the dark. So there would be mantas that would pick you up (because in an alternate reality, there are children of the dark), and when the mantas pick you up, itâs like being krilled, but mantaed. And the birds are like crabs, but they take away your darkness.
And sometimes the two realities might cross
Revealing the mega krill to us and the whale(?) to them
iâm pretty sure the whale is a neutral creature, like skids, which is why it follows us on our journey. in the dual deity theory, wouldnât megakrill be on the same level as megabird, i.e., in orbit ?
so in an opposite reality, we would see megakrill in the end credits rather than megabird
dark whales
Megakrill?
is it possibleđł
megabird: id like to speak to your manager
elders: but
elders: but youâ
What if our sky kids realized they were in a game and had no control over their actions, im sure that would justify their acceptance in ||dying at eden|| by our hands lol
Then they come back at home area.....[insert"ah sh*** here we go again" meme]
So there is a dumb theory that just popped in my head. What if all wl in every realm is the Prince memory. Just like relieving spirit memories. We will get emotes and we can use it to open a barrier wall. And the prince memory will give us wl that we can use to fly higher. I think this is wrong because what does the statue's mean in stormlock then
What if our sky kids realized they were in a game and had no control over their actions, im sure that would justify their acceptance in ||dying at eden|| by our hands lol
@dim badger game character can't do it.
Its just a game
Haha I was joking my dude@swift helm
Guys whatâs mega bird
@dim badger I was joking too, once. And now I firmly believe the megabird is capable of mind control.
G uys
hello
we think the megabirb is the birb you see in the credits right before you're born
in orbit before you enter the rebirth gate, if you look up you can see the megabirb too
Oh, sorry Bluejay, didn't notice the question
All good đ
Megan
Oh yeah... that's something we should probably mention. The Megabird's name is Megan now.
^^^
In other news. During Hell Eden Run today, I noticed something- the castle looks like the Tower of Babel. especially OOB.

I wonder how much of the mountain is actually castle that got grown over, especially since we theorized vault was an elevator inside the mountain
MAYBE THE ENTIRE MOUNTAIN IS CASTLE.
In other news. During Hell Eden Run today, I noticed something- the castle looks like the Tower of Babel. especially OOB.
@chilly kestrel
Oooh it really does!
There are different Vase Types I think?
Babel as a tower to the heavens and an act of hubris - that scatters and divides those who worked on it....

Thought they were manta tails.
i thought they represented birds
they also used to be the old « return home » shrines in beta, thereâs still two that look like this actually
Yep, I think it was an old quest.
beta stuff uwu
ooh i see i see
sooo about the manta thing
does sanctuary confirm that flying mantas come from water?
it might
It could be jus those specific mantas that emerge from water
It could be the origin of all mantas birth
The bells could be a way of summoning water mantas like how the big bells are praire summon the big ones
Thereâs tons of possibilities
I get that they want us to head canon our own story but
I actually have no where to start
Like how certain animals come when called, you use a bell to call a manata
For the first time, I canât make up a story
Itâs jus so random and so vague
Well, I can
Oh?
Bells call creatures in real life huh
....whatâs a manata
Oh wait are u talking about sky or...
Ur confusing me
And then Sky
Ok, so the mantas were hatched on a beach near a hermit spiritâs house. Everyday the spirit would ring a bell and then place food down for the mantas (possibly light). Eventually, the mantas were trained to come when the bell was rung. One day, the spirit moved on (they died) and their family was going through their belongings. The entrepreneur of the family found the bell, rang it, and decided to make more. That spirit was the Sanctuary questgiver. It took more time than the spirit originally planned for and so, a limited number of bells were made. The mantas are trained to come when the bells ring because they sound the same as the original bell.
Ooooh this nice đ
This finally gives us some much needed story for sanctuary lol

Biology class
Gotta problem with biology Amio
Any other potential questions that need a story?

Vault, forest, and valley get nice places to hold their cutscenes. Even Wastelnd is somewhere that exists. So why do prarie and isle get platforms in nowhereseville
Who's the person narrating in the beginning cutscene? The one who's telling us to "bring our lost stars home"?
the megabird while posessing someone
In reality we don't have confirmation
I think there was a mention of it bieng isle elder, but I couldn't find it to bck me up so
g
Hereâs all the current theories about the narrator so far
The king
The prince
Brick
The child of light
The megabird
A spirit who supported the elders and wanted them back home
You
The vault elder
Oreo
And the isle elder
you missed oreo
What if we're way off and it's just some spirit who never stopped wanting to send the stars back to where they think their home is?
Brick
Well if brick is either the king or vault vault, it's redundant
Lore chat theories about who i am:
The King
The Prince
Vault Vault
Narrator
who has the ability to wake kids up??
Are the golden bois (winged light) actual stars that fell? What are they?
All and all though, you're just a
nother brick in the wall
Imprints of the child of light
Thatâs what they were confirmed to be
Imprints of the child of light
Thatâs what they were confirmed to be
@sly kestrel
Who is the child of light? Why are they leaving imprints everywhere?
Use ur imagination for now
Theoory: The Prince.
at least in the end they flew back to the stars (if any)
They leave imprints everywhere because they left so many memories behind when they tried to stop Eden and failed badly.
They gave of themselves so another, more built for the task, could try. That other? A moff!
so if thatâs endless, that means there are still memories left behind to be collected post-rebirth?
Facts about lore are hard to get in sky
posted this in memes
Also as the game updates every once in a while a new "imprint"/winged light appears. How are they connected to us? They're the reason we are alive cuz without them we'd be just dead and gray. Also why do traveling spirits contain wing buffs? Is a wing buff considered a winged light?
why are there new light children in sanctuary??
Like I said
Thereâs no confirmed answers as of right now bc they want us to use our imagination to create the story đ
Im aware that there are no confirmed answers. I just wanna ask around to see if anyone has any good unconfirmed theories.
Ok so, what if thereâs this massive cape that is attached to a massive entity that has all these stars and itâs slowly losing them. As they lose stars, we collect them.
Or what if the spirits are in an area where they are trapped and as they get weaker and weaker, some of their stars fall down to the world where Sky Children frolic.
poor vault vault......
We're only bound to collect them for our life once we've collected one
its funny that skykids overtime preen themselves. like if they sit for too long they start to stretch, or look at their cape etc etc
Before we collect any, we are not dead and gray, but normal and without a cape
I newly realized that the line "Wake up, my child" was changed into "Wake up, child" later on
TGC are you tryna hide something

It's all retcon
The narrator and the one that created us need not be the same pesron
specially if we made by Alef but Alef doesn't get to talk to us
Megabird is named Alef?
no

lol, I think they mean the Prince
alef is the fanon name for the king/prince
Ah
I was reading about it, the fanon name for Praire being "Aylin", I jut noticed,,
Aylin is a common girl name here
Yes that was unrelated
aylin or ayin
thereâs multiple spellings of the fanon names
I've always seen them as nameless tbh, but I would probably call Forest Elder something tree related I'm pretty sure
The names said earlier were jus concept names from a rlly old idea of the elders
Some jus like saying them for fun but overall
The elders are nameless in the current story
elders: what are our names, creator ?
megabird: no
Valley elders.. Lucas and Lucia
brock
azsfgffh

elders: what are our names, creator ?
megabird: no
Ah, don't you hate it when you are like a god adn your creator says "U have no name" smh đ
Got this random theory that uv light is harmful to sky kids and idk why. Thoughts?
im curious on why you think that. do you have an explanation
?
...not really tbh, I guess just because it's dark and makes things glow in the dark
If that's true, then the Sun in Prairie is fake or summing.
Lol "something".
Lmao srry I'm slow
No problem!
There's a blue sun/moon in prairie as wellđ
đ
Does that mean Aleph named them all?
Like "Okay guys. The people around us all have this thing where they refer to eachother by verbal designation. Now I found this thing that has words and deffinitions. Let's see which ones fit who."
But uh... I had to sign it out with a name so I just put the word of the day down as my name... I really hope that doesn't lead to any ironic implications later

OH THANKS FOR REMINDING ME I have a circle for us to theorize about.

oh?
That was spotted in the wasteland. Kinda hard to see in the picture but I"m not an oob expert
hello reika !
hello bricky
bricky...........im touched
â€ïž

No theory, just observation so far. Just noticed circle with star shape at the top of a factory builing
i suppose not every diamond-star shape is the king but
same thought as circle on backs of elder and circle on us while upgrading wings
it reminds me a lot of the king statue we see on the top of the wasteland temple
I mean it is that direction
however...we donât really know if it is that
afterall, when we get there the statue doesnât have the circle
wheres the propaganda meme when you need it
hĂšre
Reika if ur still here I jus wanted to say hi
i hope sheâs here to see the propaganda meme
: D
Was it ur idea to make the sky glasses
Ahhhh
so it happened đ
it really means a lot that u gave me a nickname
i think only thing i probably pitched was the
silly looking suit
i just wanted chubby legs really bad
hello reika!
Chubby legs are key to making a cute skykid đđŒ
hello inky squid đ
AWWW
the suit is adorable on chibis, u did amazing
Seems like it got quiet
đ
arenât u guys exited u get to talk to reikaaaa đ
im intimidated...idk what to say
Iâm still confused about it honestly
But I wear that name with pride
Itâs because I described sky
As an Italian moth avoiding evil plants
To save a princess
An Italian moth saving a princes from dark plants
Yeah I remember
Immediately thought of Mario tho
That was the point haha
the king = bowser ?
Bahahaha
that reminds me i need to add bowser to my « royalty timeout box »
Gumba= crabs
Alright, Iâm about to go offline!!
it is now comprised of: The King, Asgore, Bowser, and Pale King
Hope you guys have a good weekend :))
Bye Reikaaaa
Hope u have a good weekend toooo
goodbye reika ! look after yourself UwU

krill with love
THE TRILLOGY IS FINALLY COMPLETE

Issa inside joke
Have you ever wonder why did they need those big towers in the first place?
Have you ever wonder why did they need those big towers in the first place?
@red grove
Like it can't be a lighthouse because there are too many of them
If u think those towers are big, u should see wasteland and eden
i think that theyâre aviaries
If u think those towers are big, u should see wasteland and eden
@sly kestrel
Yeah but my points stands. Why make such big towers?
it is called âbirds nestâ after all
i think that theyâre aviaries
@lethal stump
Way to many aviaries don't you think?
it is called âbirds nestâ after all
@lethal stump
Yes but some areas are called "forgotten ark"
The names they have right now it's not the same names as they did before
thereâs a lot of creatures in that one area though. i bet it was also a breeding grounds for the light creatures, since theyâre harvested in prairie
Honestly their shapes remind me of granaries
The edges may be there because it only takes seconds to get entrapped in flowing grain. (Heat is apparently a HUGE problem in this situation)
oh yeah grain is easy to drown in
To escape grain I believe there's a tube like tool that they use to ensure grain does not keep flowing?
hello everyone
hey blue !
what is going on?
