You know... it's possible the elders don't know the state of Eden when we enter. They live in a time loop as well - meaning it's quite likely they've seen their homes in far worse condition than they are when we get there.
They may only know that the king and prince are absent, that we enter their prison with an orb of light, and that Eden exploded. If we enter durring a nicer part of their nightmare, perhaps they don't realize we're not doing the same for Eden

I’m new to the lore of sky but something I’ve been so curious about is the fuzzy wormy guy that appears in hidden forest underground cave area, the transition between valley of triumph to the golden wasteland realms, as well as the ||rebirth process in orbit||, I’ve noticed something quite interesting seeing how he has an armor like head piece or maybe that’s just his skin I’m not sure but it reminds me of a krill piece! Please tag me for clarification or canon/theories of what this might be. Is he light creature or dark creature? Does his body structure match that of the rib cage we see in golden wasteland or is that too big?

@hushed steeple so far i'm not very sure about whale (tuna king/the fuzzy worm), i don't have a theory on him nor the inspirations for his design sorry. i think it's somewhere in this channel but it's very far back.
apparently going near him causes damage though, but my guess is that he's more of a neutral creature - not light, not dark. the bones in wasteland are probably too big for him since iirc they don't match with the whale bones in forest.

Sky kids are hybrids with both light and dark, and they seem to be the primary type of creature to go into orbit, so it stands to reason that any other hybrid could do the same

From the fact that there are so many imprints and the fact they are such strong sources of light, the child was likely very strong. Looking at the concepts, there is but one concept creature who is a child other than us "hybrids" - the prince. Given that the elders don't exactly accept the light (prarie kinda does but... He also transforms most of it into a harmless creature), if the light can be used for mimd control, this does not bode well for the prince. He would likely have spent their life fighting Megan's control and looking for ways to dim his light - corrupting himself in the process.
He likely realized his problem only after the crystal corrupted, failed to fix it, and then made us to contain the light when forced to turn to Megan for help.
