I think all the elders represent different trades / classes within a kingdom and are thus all complicit in the system that imploded on itself

Like Prairie representing mercantilism & trade, Forest representing working-class factory workers (specifically smiths in this case duh), Valley representing high-class elites that are focused on luxury and pleasure, Wasteland representing soldiers / war leaders, and Vault representing scientists and scholars

so there's a decent chance all the poems hint at what the effects are, but they're worded so vaguely we can still get it wildly wrong
