my theory's that there's a certain tolerance to darkness that skykids can take. if there is more darkness than the light part in a skid then they'll lose light. if there is more light than the dark part of the sky they'll gain light

If Sky-Kids were part wax, then it would make sense. We are given our own Light, and we collect the light of Winged Light.
It makes sense. It's why we don't die when we lose our fire in the rain, if we have Winged Light. That light is keeping us alive.
In Eden when we die, it's because we have no light protecting our wax shell, therefore it shatters, revealing our Light (The blue dot). We then get rekindled, and go to Orbit.
We are basically like a container, kept alive by Light.

just read up on the tibetan prayer wheels. apparently the symbols are some sort of prayer/mantra? by spinning the wheels, it's as good as saying the symbols out loud. and when bells spin/make sounds, stuff like mantas/other creatures of light are produced as seen in prairie
theory in which i am taking a shot in the dark in: the various runes make up the lyrics aurora's singing both at the intro and at the end, well at least the runes on the prairie bells as you hear the singing right after you're born and right before you're born. maybe by her singing the mantra/prayer, she is summoning you into existence, i wouldn't be surprised if that happens (but then again it's a very abstract thing i just randomly thought)

Not to take away from current conversation: I just noticed how many of the King looking statues there are in Golden Wasteland. And the pipes connected to that big one at the top make me wonder what that means about the King and what it means about what Wasteland used to be. Especially since the area where that first krill is must have been a temple at some point because it shares similarities with the Forest temple.
And makes me wonder if Wasteland Dad (I call them that) and Forest Mom are related somehow with that similarity
@vague adder and about them being related, I think the architecture has more to do with what the buildings were used for. We think of them as temples, but both were likely small power diamond factories. GW's is even bigger than Forest

@vague adder since valley is the realm that benefitted most from the usage of power diamonds i think it'd make sense there's a bunch of king propaganda in there, from the banners to the latticework

if you watch Vault's cutscene you will see it turns into the king's crown

it is pieced back together at the begining, when you light up the stone lamps around the elevator
