yeah
it's possible the scholars experimented with a ton of things
if i say frankenstein manta that's pretty far fetched
:0
but the ghost mantas are part of the dreamscape thing
possibly
:0
but since each level of the vault is representing a kingdom
it's also possible they just exist
i don't have an idea why tho
oo wait i just got something
so the diamond elevator is solid
we can stand on it
and on each level ther'es platforms we stand on too
but besides that everything else is uhhm
like see thru and sort of dreamy
Indeed
so the scholars might've used illusions to make scenarios and stuff for an experiment or mini models or whatever
like the tree things in the second level are white and look weird
ithey might be illusions
i dunno i'm really tripping
whas fa

WAIT THEY DI
DO
Trees-?
OH wait i remember what now
yeah truuu
so they might've been aware of this land then
but they were'nt supposed to crash on it
OO
i just had a revelation
if following the theory that the forgotten ark spirits came after eden
and were looking for a new land to restart civilization
then they might've survived bc they're all scholars
where-?
and were in the vault
which is shown to be one of hte sturdiest places in the game
after eden explosion
since it's mostly left intact despite it literally being the closest place to eden
^^^^
they just kinda
yeah
grow
gnn yall
Not me
Hello
Linnea emoji
Haha
:3
Does anyone know what this is?
No
Lmao
Where is that anyway
At the top of the entrance to forest temple
Yea i will go there

it's the forest elder's mask, the one she used to wear in her concept images
@sturdy gate late to reply but I think the symbol you found in Eden is more close to the mask on the vault gate than the forest one
Oh yessss
I forgot about the vault one
Hmmm it looks like this is how the elder design happened
Forest was one weird lady
XD
:O
most likely he's the prince/king
Anyone a link to Tom ... (forgot his name T^T) site?
the site is pinned in this channel
Ahah he's so smoooll
as small as the supposed skykid on the left
Here
That’s what I think it is
An indifferent Sky kid
Or even a Descendant (fir pic)
First*
descendants are skykids we know
Forest elder is fabulous
they are old concepts and not everything is true in game now
Ah I keep forgetting the fact they are just concept art
Do you think these stones are actually a dark stone? They both recharge your cape light
Also, is there are dark stone under this campfire? Because this is the strongest fire source in the game and the fire doesn’t die.
I think so
But how does darstone work really?
I thought it was untrustworthy
And I personally think that no, the ancestors are not to be trusted
They may look like they want to help you. But do NOT trust them
Kinda agree. There's just something about them and the way they seem to hold back information like they don't want skykids to learn about the truth behind the destruction of their civilization
I- i dont know what to say...
maybe this lil dude is eden's elder lol 👀
Certainly looks evil enough 👀
actually all jokes aside i kinda like the theory that there was an eden elder that was
responsible for everything that happened
They've got sassy's hair cosmetic tho 👀👀
i imagined that they would look bigger/scarier tho
i doodled my take on what an eden elder could look like, should i pos it here or some other channel
I think here would be fine. It's lore discussion anyway

hah thanks
I like that she's malevolent and corrupted
The cracked mask and darkness are a nice touch
I imagine that she discovered something (darkstone or those red crystals perhaps) that the other elders didn't approve of, she made some sort of mistake that led to the eden diamond and herself getting corrupted (hence the "if only they had listened')
The screenshot looks like a smaller version of the King (wasteland statue version)
Even the mask looks similar, with what looks like a diamond in the middle
Which also makes sense to why they are so secretive, maybe they are trying to cover it up in shame of an elder, their own kind, causing the destruction you see in the game
Yes!
@lethal stump that would be hilarious, cause you see these GIANT statues of the king and then he's actually tiny
@worthy mist nah thats vault elder
I kinda have my own funny headcanon that the king is actually a very young lad, who was easily corrupted by hubris leading to the downfall of his kingdom
Not sure why vault elder was found crying at the elders' tombs though
Might be more plausible than you think
Maybe, I just figured they were crying over their mistakes/the destruction of the kingdom or something
True, but why just the Vault elder
Yeah
Vault elder is also the only one with a cracked/chipped mask, so there's alot to unpack there
I assumed they were the one to seal away eded so maybe the mask got damaged from that
Possible. Vault is also closest to eden so at the very least they bore the brunt of the impact
But it also seems as though they survived everyone else, and perhaps bc of that tried to catalouge as much as they could and seal knowledge away in the archives
Oooh I like that idea
Vault also seems to be he pinnacle of innovation, so instead of documenting events the way other elders did, they stored info in jars/nodes that line the walls of the vault. Except much like the technology that was lost, skykids cant read that information anymore
Its like storing data onto servers, but not having the computers to process them 😂
Vault elder could hold the key to rebuilding the world of sky and its civilization
that little person next to the other elders in the concept art is 100% the prince and in old concept art one of the eden elders
I wonder who the eden elder is now
once upon a time we had both the prince and the king as eden elders (and before that we had the prince who became the king)
and we've got confirmation that there once was an eden elder, so I wonder which eden elder we have in the current lore?
the prince or the king?
probably the king, since we have king statues in wasteland tbh
imo the prince and the king was still the same person in later concept
like, prince was a good part of the king
there was concept art where the prince saves us from the king but I suppose, one way of looking at that was yeah^^^ the good part of the king before the corruption saves us
I rather like that theory
Kinda bold theory about the king, but I also remember seeing similar theories (not a clone theory but theories of skykids being the king) long ago in this channel, based on facts like elders bowing to us in the vault cutscene and our friend constellation being the Eden crown
Is there a confirmed name for the power diamonds?
U can call em artificial stars if u want
is it official?
Well an old concept called them that
I'm sorry if that sounds rude hehe
But personally I jus call em power diamonds
Kinda bold theory about the king, but I also remember seeing similar theories (not a clone theory but theories of skykids being the king) long ago in this channel, based on facts like elders bowing to us in the vault cutscene and our friend constellation being the Eden crown
@humble barn I’ve interpreted this image as the Skybird creating us...could it be considered cloning us too? Maybe we are being bowed down to because we were sent by Skybird itself?
I think the shattered souls leading to cloning were not exactly what Megabird intended
Ah ok
and we are bowed down by elders because we are the bosses lol
Also, does anyone remember seeing the full image of this? I distinctly remember the boatman (seen just past the gate in the image) having a crown
I've always interpreted the elders bowing as a means of honoring a skykids sacrifice and perseverance in making it to the end. Much like the way way the emperor bowed to mulan at then end. But i like these theories too
I think* skykids have a direct connection with Megabird, but that might be the same for elders too
yeah and like hobbits bowed by everyone including the king of Middle Earth
if there wasn't the friend constellation and the one kid in the opening cutscene I would just think the bowing was honoring
@worthy mist @humble barn I defs lean away from the cloning theory, but wondered how people arrived at that thought 🤔 And if the image I posted could be read that way at all
ah
Ive just realsed megabird is modeled after a phoenix
Ive just realsed megabird is modeled after a phoenix
@worthy mist I think so too
Makes sense why fire and rebirth is an underlying thing for skykids
@worthy mist Yes, so it’s consistent with the rebirth story telling <—- what I wrote before you posted ahah
Skykids turn into blue orb spirits too, but why are they the only beings given the choice to reincarnate? What i mean to say is: spirit elders are out there sky surfing in orbit, but dont step through to the light to return to sky. Why?
Maybe because they settled when they had gone to “earth”, and so Megabird chose children instead for their never ending curiosity to explore?
The spirits might have attained eternal rest, freed from eternal suffering of life.
Or maybe they would be reincarnated one day, but just not yet
imo skykids are the only ones who reborn as the same (or almost the same) beings
@sick path hmm yes, i agree. if they needed the world of sky restored, skykids' enduring curiosity and resilience would certainly see to that
Theyre just like whoop end of the week time to d*e
LMAO 🤣
shall we go die and get some candles
@humble barn im still waitinf for the other shoe to drop on the elders. Theyre hiding something
It really do be like that when you’re desperate 🤣
Ikr? Oh no ts is here, need that extra candle...IN ORBIT
so we know what skykids do is not really reincarnation
Energy transference
we don't reborn as a baby manta or baby krill, but every time as the same or similar me
Oh no! What if the weekly lightchildren freeing is really skykids powering up megabird
Yes!
Basically skykids are rechargable batteries
sounds like a zero-sum game
@humble barn the definition of reincarnation defs doesn’t fit with what is going on in orbit and after
yeah so Im saying skykids do NOT reincarnate
Absolutely
As in I’m agreeing with you xD
Sooo
What is it that we’re doing?
Are we like a gateway?
Elders out here lying to us from day one
is it something similar to regeneration but you're just restored to the same body?
reborn
We are specifically told to "Bring our lost stars home."
yeah, we're reborn, not reincarnated
but I think we are also sent to fix something really wrong in the world of Sky
We’re containers, knowing we are filled, only to be emptied again
And again
And again
to fix that red diamond
yeah, we're reborn, not reincarnated
@cold steppe basically the same way a phoenix is anyway
perfect metaphor!
@cold steppe basically the same way a phoenix is anyway
@worthy mist yeah! XD
So we're megabirb's kids then :')
same
^^^^
Yeees
the old concept art had a nice explanation
Children of the Light
that we ascend to megabird and a reborn in megabird
minibirbs
or something
which could also explain why we can fly and the elders and spirits couldn't
The Light = Megabird
so I actually had a theory a while back (or expanded on one) about megabird
that the portal we go into is the megabird
https://discordapp.com/channels/575762611111592007/632004389137154048/669388649086844928
my megabird theory with pictures
the main gist of the theory is the the fact that we can see the megabird constellation in orbit and see less of it as we go into the portal, which lines up with the constellation
I thought we are leaving the megabird when we pass the portal
I never really finished the theory, but my thoughts were/are that we pass into the portal (which is the megabird) and the megabird kind of spits us out when we go shooting star
and thought the orbit with the constellation table and the gate was inside the megabird
Ooo okay...so if we take this image I shared, then what if we aren’t flying off of the megabird, but onto it’s wings/towards it to become part of it and then shot out of it’s mouth?
if only I could understand what the song meant
ah, yeah, the whispering
@sick path I think that's basically right
is the singer singing in an actual language, or just "sounds"?
jump to 0:37
she is definitely saying something in a language we don't understand
I think in the same language as the credits song
by "sounds" I was meaning more like do they have meaning or are they just nonsense vocalizations (or whatever the term is)
What if going through the portal to megabird is the only thing that enables a rebirth. As in, if skykids are descendants, and elders can no longer be reborn into the world, the skykid hybrid is the only being capable of withstanding megabirb's rebirth and power infusion
Theory time
so when we die in eden, we're not reborn as the same skykid. We're reborn as a skykid we save. But the skykid possesses some of your past memories, and so they go out and collect the winged lights so they can one day save you like you saved them

The composer confirmed they created a language for the credits song so I believe the gate song does have a meaning too
WAH
oh cool
Fixed
then I definitely agree that the gate song is in the same language
so it was a created language, not a combination of existing ones?
I dont play with sound so i really need to start listening to these things 😂
So I looked up the symbolism of the diamond shape
Could be like a mother singing to her child
While still in her stomach
Oh yes it did sound like that actually
@cold steppe It might have some elements taken from existing language but so far no one had deciphered the meaning of the credits song
The first time i heard it as a moth i remember thinking it sounded like the celebration of life, but soothing and welcoming
It could be a language sung in reverse too
I know it's not the same composer (or game), but I just looked up I Was Born for This and the wiki says it uses 5 languages, including Latin and Japanese. I wonder if the credits song is similar, though I would have thought someone could have recognized a bit
I certainly heard bits of sino-tibetan language
a video on YT has the lyrics "written out" in the comments for Sky's credit song
well I looked up the lyrics of I Was Born for This
also, did they change the credits song?
and can see there are Latin, French, Japanese and some other lines I can't identify what language
but when I see the written out lyrics of the Sky credits song, I see nothing
End credits is also the first song we hear in Isle
so Latin, Greek, old English, French, and Japanese for Journey
Part of it anyway
ah makes sense Mael is me to feran may be old English and Ahleto men mei nostos is probably Greek
I ran the one person's lyric interpretation for the Sky credits song through google translate and it came up with a translation for 1 line and interpreted it as Hawaiian
the wiki for Journey says that the Greek part is from the Iliad
Ahh can I pls have punctuation for that sentence @humble barn ...I can’t tell which is which
unfortunately i couldn't copy and paste. ask google
All good ty
np sorry I had difficulty typing accents with my PC keyboard
It’s ok..I was just confused with “Mael is me to feran may”
"Ωλετο μέν μοι νόστος,
“Oh my gosh”?
maybe not this part
😅😅
but anyway, I can say this is not what they did in the credits song of Sky
definitely not
I saw a clip of an orbit song in old beta which actually sounded like Japanese (but probably not in Japanese) let me se if I could dig that piece
^
Oof off to bed guys! Gn and happy loring!

Do you think the most common things in this game have a significant role in the lore of the sky? Most common things such as wardrobes where we change our outfit, benches where we chat with strangers for a limited time and candle message stones where we put our message and get a free heart if we get 10 likes.
And also the bell in the home which rings each 15 minute and spread a strong beam of light for a short period.
What stages of life do the realms represent?
What stages of life do the realms represent?
@primal vault Being born, young being, adolescent being, college graduate, adult, old, and deth
Wow that’s amazing
The central idea that the devs came up with is birth, childhood, teenage, adulthood, midlife crisis, old age/enlightenment, and then death
quick question, does anyone know why the home statues everywhere look the same except for the one in the wastelands?
It changes in the forest too.... the second part, I have been wondering the same
Also.... a great interesting idea I think That Game Company should add is after you complete every constellation in the game.... you can buy white and gold manta wings for 6 hearts with a headset!! This would interest many Sky players to be up for the challenge. I am sorry if I can not pay for anything in Sky.... so you might not bother to read this. But thats okay.... its just an idea I am hoping that you can consider!! 😄
Is there an actual reason we go into eden? A reason to attempt to push through the storm??
should i mark as spoiler... the channel already says spoilers
well we go to eden to deliver light to the fallen statues
Any ideas for a D&D oneshot set in the world of Sky? I am not familiar with the lore of this setting, but it could be a fun one time thing
I love how u guys asked a bunch of questions and no one bothered to answer
Mowana those bird statues used to be home statues that u would go to return home, they are very old and I’ve seen them in use ever since Sky Light Awaits was out. The model is supposed to be a bird statue and there was an update that said these bird statues would be removed but a lot of em still exist. But anyways, there’s more statues than jus the one in wasteland, there’s one in forest and valley as well
I never use them but I think they still work

@feral kayak you should add this to #wishlist-and-ideas-archived if u want the devs to see it
Speaking of the regular home statues, they’re also the mom-shaped lanterns in Eden and I just noticed that from the side, Battlefield’s broken gatehouse spire has a somewhat similar shape
What's this near me?
Ppl say broken krill horn
quick question, does anyone know why the home statues everywhere look the same except for the one in the wastelands?
@ruby birch Maybe because it is a battlefield, signs of ruins and destruction
Ppl say broken krill horn
@celest spoke there are two here on the left and right sides of the platform I'm standing
Giant krill booped that ship real good
Though there’s some vaguely similar jaggedy bits inside ark’s crab farm so idk
What stages of life do the realms represent?
@primal vault Yeah.. They also represent the time of the day...
Dawn, morning, day (rain), afternoon, evening, night, before dawn (storm)
Hey i keep seeing screenshots from this concept timeline/ art but where can i find the whole thing?
Keep in mind that this backstory is very old and it isn’t the current storyline we have today
thank you!
Hello everyone! So basically does anyone has like the full theory, like everything, from isle to eden(such as theories about how darkness came,"if only they had listened",symbols, writings on walls, were there certain ruler or rulers who ruled every realm, what did elders do wrong so the storm came in eden and how the battle in wasteland happened and similar) I assume u guys already talked about this, but im quite new to these discussions and I will keep scrolling for hours until I find all of it T^T
@hushed steeple There are many lore theories out in here! There isn't much confirmed to be cannon lore but whatever is known can be found under the pins!
If you would like, I can pm you about it!
@fringe anvil oh thank u for mentioning pins :)
@hushed steeple of course!
I was reading some of what was said earlier and I have a thought. Our mission is to bring the fallen stars back home. Yet, the climax of the game results in our sky kid inevitably dying before the broken power diamond. We are continuously reborn only to die in the same area.
On a different note, Eden has/had an elder that is lost to us. No where in the game do we actually see or really cross a depiction of the lost elder (that I am aware of). Surely their spirit still exists. All of the other inhabitants of sky have died, yet their spirit is preserved in memories. Why would it be any different for the Eden Elder?
I believe that when the Eden catastrophe occurred, it broke the power diamond. This event unleashed unstable/uncontrolled energy that is causing the Eden storm. Along with this, I also believe that the Eden Elder is missing because they were present at the time of the disaster. The Elders memory/spirit could be within or very near the broken power diamond, which could explain why we are drawn to that area.
I would like to believe that the eden elder is lile a administrator of the diamond factory at the top of the mountain
That tried to stop the storm but wasn't able
And this elder must be trapped somewhere at eden but was forgotten due to the strengh of the storm
The fact that we see some statues were we can recover light means that it has been a long time since eden was destroyed
That easily some centuries have been pased
This could explain why almost all history was forgotten and we can only see it at walls
(Maybe you talked about this but i wanted to share my opinion)
i believe the devs have said as well that the eden elder has "nothing left to save" which would explain their absence from sky
I thought they removed the king like, REMOVED REMOVED HIM
We still have yet to prove if he is still relevant to the game or if he’s just an old concept character
If we think that in nature nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed, the king is still there, however indissoluble from the darkness.
(Maybe you talked about this but i wanted to share my opinion)
@jade river you're good :D I really like your thoughts too! I have always thought that we arrived a LONG time after the initial events of the Edens collapse. I think that its possible (especially with the current season) that some spirits survived and lived for a while after. We are obviously sent after all the spirits deaths so, it would explain the time gap at least a little.
But I do believe that all the knowledge the sky kids need, to fully understand the history, is in the vault. Its just been so long, and we are so far removed from the spirits' society, that we can't access any of it. Which would leave us only with the pictographs.
As far as the Eden Elder goes, I LOVE THE CONCEPT. I'm only beginning to check out the eden lore so I havent thought about what the Elders role would be at all. The Elder being the ring leader would make so much sense
That “eden elder” was known as the king
Only in his concept ideas, he wasn’t much an elder
More like a leader that was different from the rest
If we think that in nature nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed, the king is still there, however indissoluble from the darkness.
@acoustic inlet oooOooooOothis would be a rad idea for why the Elder is missing!
According to concept art the king (or eden administrator) is trapped at the centre of the storm.
i believe the devs have said as well that the eden elder has "nothing left to save" which would explain their absence from sky
@desert sun This makes me crazy curious! Thank you for telling me
There’s lots of different concepts of the king
There is no “single” concept or idea of him bc there’s so many
True. At this point he's purposefully vague, perhaps bc he may show up at a future time
What about the ferryman though. The introduction of the forgotten ark level seems to be connected to him.
According to concept art the king (or eden administrator) is trapped at the centre of the storm.
@worthy mist Thank youu! I'm pretty sure the damaged power diamond is also at the center of the storm? I really need to take an exploitative Eden trip
Its is. It's possible he's beyond the diamond shaped hole, and may even be the source of the storm
@worthy mist Thank youu! I'm pretty sure the damaged power diamond is also at the storm? I really need to take an exploitative Eden trip
@fringe anvil .....well, don’t be like too sure bc these are jus things found in concepts and like I said earlier we don’t even kno if he’s in the game
True. Its all speculation at this point. None of it is canon, yet
And I’m pretty sure kupo got that idea from the timeline, which is one of Tom Zhao’s OLDDD old concepts where the ark exploded and that’s what caused the enormous storm on the mountain. The king got stuck in the storm and was cursed along with the creatures who fought in this battle
And this timeline was made before the eye of eden was a thing
It was simply a mountain
But whaddabout the last mural in vault cutscene, of king eating apple
Also how long has the crescent moon (? or eclipse?) been in Eden
Thats an apple?
@worthy mist ifs would be really cool if an Eden Elder would show up later at some point :D I'd be really interested to see if they would run with something similar to the old concepts or something completely new!
I know so little about the Ferry man! I read about him in the ancient story line but haven't seen anything else! Is there more on that concept?
OooOOo Interestng
I cant wait to find out more about the storm!
Who's the ferryman
isle elder
But whaddabout the last mural in vault cutscene, of king eating apple
@celest spoke I COMPLETELY MISSED THAT!
Ooooh!
I almost got heavily spoiled with Enchantment's ending. I really want time to pass so that we can know what the Orange Orb does to the ark
Wait are we sure thats an apple and not some newly created dark orb that eventually lead to the destruction of eden?
It's not apple shape
Ikr? Its round
Tho the japanese name for Eye of Eden is "Original Sin" so I understand where it came from
Meh symbolic “apple” bc Eden: red forbidden fruit of knowledge, red power diamond
Ahhhh
Red orb then looool
Perhaps the same way enchantment spirits terraform FA, the red orb terraformed Eden
The apple is similar to the lights that the enchantment spirits hold
At first I had a theory it's the end credit's/orbit's ball of light we see at the end. If the Eden King existed they might have been so greedy that they tried to consume Megabird's light
I like this theory. Concept art did paint the king as power hungry
Oh nooo “eclipse” is actually remains orb with huge bite missing
But the orbit ball at credits is actually megabird tho
@heady sinew Explains his mural depicting awe
Tho tbh the mural could actually be kneeling figure offering orb to dark enthroned king, or dark spiky shape could even be krill looming behind
has eden mountain always been a place of ascension? i mean... beam has always been there?
Also, the mural shows the King wearing a crown that looks a lot like the favourite friends constellation. This could mean nothing at all but what if Megabird used the King's tiny remnants to create the skykid?
Also why is Orbit so offset from Eden beam? From most of the realms, they’re perfectly lined up so they look like the same place, but at the end it’s surprisingly a aways off (not just straight up)
@fringe anvil i would like to believe that both eden and wasteland are the oldest places at sky because of it's infrastructure and status, as desserts advance and swallow things (in a future the pyramids will be sunk under the sand) also of the condition of the place, wasteland is abandoned, completely abandoned there are non life forms apart from krills and crabs, also it's temple is nothing more than a way to enter vault of knowledge that it seems more like a storage room rather than the library it is, i think that the spirits arrived much later (like some decades after the war at wasteland and the eden chathastrophy) by that way I assume that eden and wasteland are way older than other kingdoms, due to it's infrastructure that seems more human rather than mythical and magical (maybe you talked about this but i just wanted to share my thoughts!)
So was all of wasteland originally like restored Ark area?
Hopefully
I guess Wasteland is a beach hahah like the isle
Yes it is
this explains the sand
But still no answer to WHY IS CRAB WHAT HOW WALK
Wasteland was formerly a seaport
Crab walk cycle = circle left circle right
Crab hokey pokey
Cræbs are the strongest being in the game
They pretend to be weak
But in reality
They are our gods
Respects cræbs
Crabs are the king in disguise
@jade river I'm not sure when things were actually built 😅 my theory is that the wasteland used to abundant life in it like the other realms. But there is the process of desertification in over used areas. My thoughts are that, as the spirits became more industrialized, the land was overused and stripped of natural resources which led to the desertification of the zone.
But crab cat hiss/shimmy/pounce
So was all of wasteland originally like restored Ark area?
@celest spoke that's my theory
oh sorry
Elon Musk’s kids prowl the desert and dark water
Crabs are babies krill... they look at us with those red eyes like the krills
@fringe anvil it's just a theory, but that's what i think!
@jade river You're all good :D yours is super unique. I wish I knew more to co-conspire on your theory but I wanted to bounce ideas nonetheless
So are krills war machines or corrupted creatures
I would like to think what if there are skykids to refused to their destiny
And just roamed around the world finding their own porpuse
They certainly wouldnt embrace death every sunday
I would like to imagine skykids developing their little comunities and living their lives
Farm SkyVille
Skykid crossing, new horizons
They were made and sent down specifically for their mission
I mean it’s not forbidden for them to deny their mission but, this is their main purpose
But what if a group of skykids didn't embrace their mission?
And truly began to develope personalities
As someone said
Sky world induces them to their mission, they have no choice
And the elders enforce their missions
Skykids are impressionable
Theyre the perfect scapegoats
When you go to eden and die, you are reborned as a skykid you saved and your memories are transfered to a new skykid, what if going to eden multiple times will make them develope their own thoughts, the memories they share and how they act
Its possible that after a time they tire of the cycle and seek other opportunities
It is proved that skykids have some kind of independence as they are the ones who select their friends at the corona constellation
I think we need to insert ourselves in this discussion... we are part of the personality of the child
Yup
In the introduction... the storyteller speaks straight to us
@acoustic inlet well that's true
So we are the skykid and we can choose if to embrace our destiny
Or to avoid it
I just want to see a village of skykids
Doing their things and being cute
Thatgamecompany must make a game where you make a village of skykids
A place where we just hug each others, because the hug emote is sooooo cute.
And when it rains over the village the skykids rush to their homes to protect their light
Earlier they were taking about that comeback home lady. In roman mithology, Vesta is the goddess of the fire and home... maybe is a reference 🤷🏽♂️
I like that lady... it implies there's a female entity beyond the elders.
...I think I missed that part
it was just about those bird statues... so they talk about the lady
Hmm lemme scroll up
Yesterday I had a little talk here about the old elders but I didn’t notice how the vault Elder looked like a long time ago woah
Do we know if the Vault Elder is a man or a woman?
@jade river I'm not sure when things were actually built 😅 my theory is that the wasteland used to abundant life in it like the other realms. But there is the process of desertification in over used areas. My thoughts are that, as the spirits became more industrialized, the land was overused and stripped of natural resources which led to the desertification of the zone.
@fringe anvil clear implication to today's world, deforestation and desertification
@sturdy gate I always thought it was a Man... But what if is the Queen instead? The King consumed by the darkness died and the Queen was the only one left, that's why she's sad and she gives us that Diamond thing... Maybe the Diamonds were the symbol of the ex king
Hmmm the only weird thing here it’s that he/she has a beard in the very first concept
Guys what about the endgame fight scene at the end but with sky kids
Krill are those dragon thingys on thanos's side
:0
:3
Just popping in but, I feel like the elders dont really have a gender? I mean they can be represented masculine and feminine but I dont think they really are female or male.
^^ i feel the same becan
There’s a theory based on Home’s realm gates that Forest, Vault, and one of the Valley twins are female bc all three of them have tall topstones and Forest/Vault have diamond-shaped face icons instead of squared (both twins’ are triangular)
oooo i thought they were imitating their hair/head shape (i thought the tall twin head was for the valley boi hair)
@sturdy gate the person you are zooming in on with the beard is the vault elder not the eden elder. I believe the only elder we have not seen yet is the one on the far right, which could potentially be the eden elder
@vague plover I like that concept and see what you are saying, we don't even know if these people needed to reproduce or if they even did at all, so they might indeed not actually have a gender. However it's clear they have masculine and feminine traits. Most things we create have this just so people can relate to them easier since we ourselves are a diecious species. We are always putting male and female characteristics on things that don't have male and female gender. (Example. (The movie cars, and turbo a movie about snails)
I have a kinda stupid question but I’m curious, lore-wise if everything comes from the same thing which is Light, what makes SkyKid different than the Children of Light (stars)?
@vast jasper yeah!! I understand that :D !! That's kinda how i see it as well and that's understandable!
@vast jasper I think that black little weird sky kid thing is just a corrupted sky kid or something like that. In another concept art you can see the eden elder is represented as a huge creature and that thing is super tiny. The only strange thing is that it has the eden elder’s mask.
@sturdy gate plot twist, the eden elder has been a chibi all along
Oh boi
I think it’s the forest temple
The vertical lines are trees and there are boats bringing jars
The one building on top in the painting (on the sky in this photo) might be those building we passed when we go to orbit after eden, does it have a name? Or it's what u call orbit? 😅
It's most probably the Eden castle, or what could remain of it
And it's also a reference to the Castle in the Sky

Their technology must be so advanced that they can build such thing 😮
Unless, if the floating castle is a launched earthly ruin 😅
We don't know what Eden castle looked like before it broke, but we do know that ancients were able to build floating buildings
and flying boats
So yes their tech was advanced in some ways.
self-reflection time
maybe the physics is a little different... those floating stones
Inspired by the concept art posted earlier.
The King....
The Child King.
I also made up a little headcanon that has very little basis but I like it anyways: the big king statues we see are the Child King’s (aka CK) father. The mask is the crown of the kingdom of Sky, endowed with magic which make it stick to the wearer until the wearer dies. When the King dies, the elders (the royal advisors/lords, it’s a feudal system) reluctantly do the crowning ceremony. At first, CK is really excited to become king. But when he realizes that the mask won’t come off he freaks out.
Idk very well what happens from there, but basically because CK is, well, a kid, the powers of the mask overwhelm him and he becomes full of hubris. He starts being purposefully blasphemous towards the Stars (their gods). This leads to the creation of the Darkness. Wherever he goes, it spreads, and seeing that he’s the king who has to go places and do things, it spreads quickly. One of the most hard-hit area is the Golden Market (to be known as Golden Wasteland), since he was there the most. The darkness turns gentle creatures into violent ones. Once docile Sky shrimp (I made these up) become krill. Service crabs (Also a thing i made up) become the violent things we know now.
The castle, Eden, is the hardest hit, with it being destroyed entirely by CK’s greediness and selfishness. He’s cast from the thrown and the mask falls off, with a mind of its own, and morphs into the red diamond. CK dies, but is reborn...a skykid.
(Note that i called CK ‘Adam’ in the drawing, that’s just a reference to Eden, the carving of him eating the apple, etc., also a lot of this is non-canon so like. Plz be nice)
Omg thank you—
I’ll probably draw the sky shrimp and the service crabs so y’all get an idea of what they look like
What’s the story behind the cry spirit, I never paid attention during the quest to figure it out, did her friends die in the cave? And she’s mourning them ?
I think it's deeper than that @blazing terrace , I always felt she was in a deep sadness, the loss of her environment, the loss of her loved ones and companions, and the realization of what their lives have come to, stuck in darkness until she too slowly fades away in utter loneliness, the light quite literally dying.
They got stuck in a cave and she watched her friends die @blazing terrace
she built graves for them and everything
i wonder why they couldn't escape from the top though?
Maybe there was no top at the time
Where are the stories of the spirits ? Are they written down ? Or do we have to Just kinda guess ?
Guys whats the purpose of the huge diamond in eden? I heard it consumes energy, but what energy and energy for what, also is there a king who ruled eden and if so,how did the storm came?
The king is an old concept that we can’t confirm jus yet
But most of our guesses state that the eden diamond was unstable and exploded causing a massive storm
Where are the stories of the spirits ? Are they written down ? Or do we have to Just kinda guess ?
@lethal stump iirc the stories of the spirits are in the pins somewhere
go bonkers
Hmm so was eden like the first realm ever?
@hushed steeple if the intro cutscene is anything to go off of, then its a possibility
@lethal stump idk why but while reading I thought about Brother One (Drakengard 3 character there's also a manga about him). He became the main cause of a desease and everywhere he goes it spreads even further if he start using his power
OwO
Idk what to say but like thanks I guess
Im happy my headcanon reminded you of something lol
@hushed steeple it's not stupid, it's a theory so don't worry! ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ btw, for some aspects I agree, btw the Elders fell to Sky and decided to build their homes in the clouds, and later darkness became a real treat...
@lethal stump no prob hey ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ
Nope the vault elder is on there, it’s the isle elder that is missing
And it’s based on an old beta model that used to represent that isle didnt count much as an actual level so it didn’t contribute to opening the door to eden
But that was old and it’s still confusing as to why the isle elder still isn’t on the door
Consider me shocked at the fact that the Isle Elder is not on the Eden door
i hope they add him soon
/hey uh how are there birds in prarie?
Wdym ?
/in the beggining when you just entered prarie there's like tons of birds
/i think we don't know where they came from
/becase they seem to be the only creatures that dont charge us
Birds charge you
I took my own interpretation of the prince hfdnfdnfb
Owo i love him
particularly scrawny and not too intimidating hsfhsnfb
ooh, the cape / shawl kinda reminds me of the old forest elder concept!! Lovely work!!
"no cost too great..."
And that reminds me of hollow knight
Angy sticc boi
too bad he may have gotten blown up
perhaps
Nearly each mechanism in this game get their power from dark stones such as doors and bridges, but these 2 doors are the only exceptions as far as i discovered, only 2 butterfly provide enough energy to open this big door, so can we say that butterfly energy is equivalent to dark stone energy? If so why did they decide to use dark stones rather than butterfly? On the second picture; the door you see is the only door that works with physical energy, why do you think they decided to use their body power while there were easier ways like butterfly and dark stone?
The prince may have looked scrawny back then but he would soon grow to be a ruthless king with extreme lust for power and end up destroying the entire sky kingdom and the murder of creatures
As much as that sounds cool Im keeping angy stick boi (my version)
I mean he probably just became power drunk in the attempts to rule over a land that probably did not Want him to be there
do not be fooled, the king too has stick legs
he hides them under the robe.....
OwO
Oh it's just a tiny dude controlling a mech
Sky is a mech anime
This is what TGC has been hiding from us all along........
Or....
well, though that concept could be scrapped, i still think there was the prince who later became the king, and the one with halo in the opening cutscene mural is him (he's the original of skykids)
the tiny figure in the huge king had been noticed by many people here months ago, but I am thrilled to see the concept actually fits my clone theory
Tbh i think the royal family came from the stars
They’re skykids, which is why everyone worshipped them in the first place (like, look at the price he looks exact like us)
But then with light comes darkness and who they thought was their messiah was actually their antichrist (don’t mind the religious wording, it’s just the best way to describe it)
Oh it’s my lil headcanon thing....
ah ok
it’s basically like...there was a skykid who was sympathetic to the humans so left the stars to join them, and since the humans worshipped the stars, he became their ruler
This went on for a while, with every new incarnation of the sky king being a pretty good dude, since they all became king when they were ready
But then ‘Adam’ became king too young and the power corrupted him and the land
And from there, yada yada, king mech, the land and the humans are killed by the corruption and the storm, and Adam has to relieve the ruins of the kingdom over and over to repent
hm, i'd like to point out that canon says skykids are something new
devs said skykids are new generation
Ooo oki
in one of the livestreams
There are many other concepts of the king, and not gonna lie I rlly do doubt that he was small and was controlling a suit
I rlly do doubt that he was small and was controlling a suit
@sly kestrelIs this because the idea does not fit Sky or are you saying you have never watched Japanese anime
I actually do think it does not fit, but still believe the prince did not grow. he should have had some other ways to become huge
Off topic but looking at that concept for Eden makes me thankful for the Eden we have now, j e e z
it actually looks less scary to me, like a disney movie
Oh the appearance is lovely
What scares me is the list of hazards per act
Like- i can barely handle the rocks, wind, and krill in the last stretch before stormlock. Imagine having to deal with seven things
the what
the what
turrets in wasteland
Of course it’s wasteland.....
I had fun with catapults in wasteland though
Those don’t harm you tho, don’t they ? I’ve never used one—
dark worm off the string
what skykids will he attack ?
Those don’t harm you tho, don’t they ? I’ve never used one—
@lethal stump its much better than the cannon at office if you compare the distance it covers.... like boop said hahah
Owo rlly ?
Damn I thought the canon went pretty far
I should get around to using the catapult sometime...or just...be less afraid of wasteland in general
I know multiple ways to not get hurt by krill, but no matter what they succeed in giving me heart palpitations
you'll get used to them
krill's roar is not for the faint of heart
but I'm used to it after getting hit like 8 times now
what is the whale and krill history.... I need a clear explanation
krill being corrupted whale is just a theory
that is, we have no clear explanation on them
I want to understand the lore behind the game but not much is given.
yeah
We need a library room in the vault of knowledge with books about the lore and history, short stories, journals
written in languages we do not understand
it could be in cutscenes
Beautiful and we have to learn the language
did someone say languages
a holographic scene on what happened
- puts on conlang cap *
I did
Tbh I’ve been kinda thinking of piecing together what might be the languages of Sky
start with the credits song
Problem is, I’m missing things which would otherwise lead to an easy translation, such as sounds or clear grammar
well all I know is we cannot expect easy translation
Who drew all the drawings on the walls, and also on the ship in the forgotten ark? The spirits? Does it also count as the language?
Those are predecessors to language
Cave drawings...if we look at the drawing style and compare it to the writings, we could try and guess if they’re ideographs
I know there’s about 3 writing styles in Sky
The ones on the bells, the ones on the Vault elder’s hat-mask-thing, and the ones on the Levitate mask-hat-thing
Although I think the Vault and Levitate ones are two of the same system, one is just simplified
I haven't added information on the symbols in the vault archive cubes (The top and bottom planes of the cubes are blank, and the rest of 4 sides are covered with 4 symbols, all placed in exactly the same order. Sometimes the cube is upside down.) but you can find pics of others here
Ohhhhh thank you!
See, I’m trying to think of this in a semi-anthropological way, considering how the society would have developed
If we look at the writing system on the bells, it’s very likely that it’s an logogramic system. There’s too few characters for it to be anything but.
But the other (only other) writing system we see seems to be more akin to either an alphabet or a syllabary. I’m not surprised that we see it in Vault, because as the society progresses, it would definitely need a better writing system to catalogue information
Is this realistic ? Ehhh. The most realistic way for this to go is the logograms becoming part of the syllabary, although I doubt there would have been new additions of letters. That almost never happens, it’s usually the other way around. But if we look on the Vault elder’s hat, it’s clear there’s symbols we’ve never seen, even in the presupposed logograms. My second guess is a Hangul type system, like what Mochi said in their google doc when observing the bell logograms
And then there’s the possibility I’m over analyzing this
which I believe is false
Big brain time
the symbols in the vault archive are different from those on bells
I think the cubes are decorative, although they could also be logograms as well
I wouldn’t be surprised if it does
we do not know that
3 different writing systems, yes, that’s a possibility
at this point I don't know if the symbols were writings
I think it is safe to assume they are, Mochi
there's no enough information to assume anything safely tho
True, but thinking from a cultural standpoint...would you put pointless angular drawings on every single one of your bells for no other reason than they look good ?
If they were patterns, it’d be iffy, but these are clearly thought-out writings
"not a writing" does not mean "pointless"
drawings are not writings but they have a point
If they were drawings, they would resemble the other Sky drawings, no ?
But they don’t. They’re something unique from the drawings. They’re probably an advancement of the drawings. Writing.
writing isn't advanced drawing
advanced drawing
irl like something the devs said or an example from a language/culture ?
well look at cartoons and renaissance paintings...
Yes, but I’m referring to before that
cave paintings all over the world and and Nasca lines
even Nasca lines alone have multiple styles
Im going back to the creation of writing...it’s been shown that the precursor to written word has always been some kind of logographic or ideographic system
Really really ancient Chinese
Ancient Egyptian
Phoenician (which led to Greek and Latin as well)
Aztec
First comes drawing, then comes writing. And I think that the people of Sky have writing, in the most easy way. Logograms
Even Norse, linguists have been seeing logogram-esque patterns with the Norse alphabet and there are theories it stemmed from drawings of items which simplified over time
logography is not the precursor to written word

the idea of writing was hard to come by, that's why writing was invented only 2-4 times in human history
I mean, depends on your definition of writing
You could argue that the Mayan knot-language was writing. Some think it is, some think it isn’t
And depends on your definition of invented
that's only because there's still debate on how much information the knots could convey
and not because they are knots
it's Inca btw
Mayan had a writing system but I think you already know that
I think we’ve gotten off-topic
My main point is
I think it’s reasonable to assume the people of Sky have some kind of written language. Judging by the fact they drew everywhere and the commonality of drawings becoming logograms becoming whatever else, we can try out the theory that their language is logographic. I might be wrong, I might be right. We don’t know, but in the world of translating video game languages you never know unless the devs give an answer
Right, Inca, I always get them confused, sorry
Also how advanced they are technologically...without a writing system, how would they be that advanced ? It’s unrealistic to think they would have things like power diamonds and floating boats without a writing system
I believe they did have a writing system, I am just not sure if the engraved glyphs we see are writings or not
I wrote my theories on those in my doc
my "I am not sure" does not mean "I have another theory I believe"
I just read your doc again...to me it seems that you also believed it to be a writing of some sort
About the symbols, it's like "I think they are writings but I am not quite sure, there is no sufficient evidence to support that theory"
yeah
Why are we arguing then, we agree
I don't know why, maybe we are lost in translation
I think
You and I both think it’s writing
But I’m more stubborn in my resolve than you are
yeah and I like keeping things left unsettled😂
I think we can look past that slight difference and work on trying to decode it tho
Whatever it may be
We should try every theory we can, just in case
yeah as long as theories are labeled theories I am okay
Personally imma start with mine and see if it goes anywhere
but anyway I believe it's difficult to decode the symbols we have right now
except for the vault mural, that's a lot of text
tho I think it's code and so it would be really hard to decode too
yes cutscene mural
and it's possible that those symbols were not designed to be readable
What I think would be hilarious is
fans: we decoded and theorized the language and writing system of sky
devs:
devs: yeah about that.........they’re just squiggles

iirc Journey glyphs were just random glyphs?
Aw really ? I was kinda looking forward to trying to translate them
I don't know much about Journey lore, and just watched a part of video on how devs made the Journey glyphs
I haven’t finished the game yet, the guardians scare me ><
I was too used to krill that I could get away from them too well, had to intentionally expose myself to see what they do😂
Oh dtdssfgddgfg
I haven’t gone past the first room where you see a guardian, I’m too much of a scaredy-cat
and back to Sky, we know that the credits song is sang in a conlang
Imma have to listen to it......Maybe with the power of brain I can discern some IPA sounds ?
Already have an idea of sounds...
i don't have a good ear to transcribe the song to IPA alphabet
Oh ive listened to the IPA so many times I know sounds to characters
It’s like linguist perfect pitch
some people have transcribed it to English-style alphabet
Oh ?
really? then I think you can transcribe it
though i know transcribing a song is more difficult than transcribing a normal speech
Yeah
You can’t tell what’s supposed to be a long or short vowel...sometimes consonants are skipped, etc
it's sung by a human so there is no sound which human cannot pronounce
Meno'reah nah
Fordoh'fol'ah
Ni so ro woh'n horea
Lo sor'ha
Me'o ne o'te na
Fordoh me
Ni co
Ni co lo sor'ha
With this I’ll have an easier time doing the IPA
Lots of /a/
very very open sounding
Hm, i think the accents are a bit much
With the romanization and the audio, I’ll try and put together an IPA transcriptions
From there we can try and figure out how this might be written...
thank you sir I really really look forward to it
Eeeeee
and there's a tiny bit of a different song which is probably sung in the same language (not confirmed)
Sounds very similar
But for now it’s almost 2 am so like
Imma sleep
This has been a very eventful night tho and now I have a cool thing I can do to procrastinate on schoolwork ^v^
Haha good night!
Gn uwu
I think that it could be like a mega blast from eden that sort of wiped out the old civilisation?
The elders were strong tho so they didn't die, but got trapped in this loop outside or reality that they are forced to relive over and over again
man I just realized something that might have been very obvious for others
when we die, we turn into little blue light balls
much like the spirits
which begs the question
we're not the same race as the ancestors
so why do we die the same way?
could it be that the ancestors are also stars?
and not from the sky kingdom?
I think it simply implies we all have souls
Hm so maybe star people in general have souls
So after we die our soul is oreserved
Do we know that beautiful song’s from isle lyrics?
I think it is. And the megabird we all talk about is not technically a bird
Do we know that beautiful song’s from isle lyrics?
@sturdy gate it's a part of the credits song. there are people transcribed the lyrics, but there is no official lyrics or translation available rn
Woahhhhhhhh that’s amazing!!
Why are so many stars in the Eden corridor together?!!
And every shiny boi in resting pose
I don't know for sure but^^
@humble barn yes she is
Is this that megabird yall talk about
@narrow siren yes
Sure don’t look like a bird
@narrow siren Watch the credits till the end
Looks somewhat like a Phoenix
Is the Harry Potter castle is actually what was supposed to be the Eden elder temple?
Someone had a theory that winged lights develop when someone feels a strong emotion, so it’s probably all the skykids realizing they’re in the endgame now.
but idk
Hello,so what exactly is the mega bird,is it like the life source of all light creatures,spirits...?
@hushed steeple Life itself
Pompeii Vesuvius volcano eruption paintings and eden
I'm confirmed now that the entity's name is Megabird..... 🤩
watching the elder cutscenes again I have three things to say
one, the elders seem to have "lost their flame" so to speak
they get all fancy when we give them ours
two, the ancestors had weapons that used light to augment their powers
and three, the diamonds were used not only as power sources, but also as stars
we know they're ARTIFICIAL stars
so what happened to the sky kingdom that would make them need to create artificial stars?
I'm convinced the cosmetic symbol means "light"
it's what shows up in the isle murals when the stars fall
Light is the energy source
If you see the vault elder cutscene closely, you will see the King eating the fruit..
Reference to the first sin.. Bible
Something they did which led the kingdom to ruin...
"Only if they listened".... From the intro
looking at the
murals it seems that at first the ancestors took the lights to a castle (Eden?) and then gave them to the elder to return them to presumably orbit
or wait
that castle isn't eden
it's the isle temple

so what happened to the sky kingdom that would make them need to create artificial stars?
@mellow sable it was their source of technology and the name artificial stars came from the concept of the diamond factories. But anyways, artificial stars are jus power diamonds, and power diamonds for them is like electricity for us
It was their tech and eventually led to their downfall
ahh
Yee
Ooo, tyy
You're welcome
How did these crabs get here?
The labyrinth is the only place in Vault with crabs i can think of...
It's also starting to be flooded in
Not polluted water tho
Piping system

But are there pipes?
Can anyone tell me a dark, closed place with water where crabs aren't present??
Prairie cave
note that valleys maze doesnt have water but crabs are present
They are red
Theyre fried-
thats just the lighting
Sub species that can live on land huahuahua
Is it tho?
i moved some crabs out of the lights and they turned out to be grey
Crabs start coming from Forest
either its a lighting error or crabs are red in that room specifically
Crabs start coming from Forest
@broken basin i mean... They do have a little cave there
I have a question.
The king is dead, right??
But that doesnt mean they originally came from forest i guess...
the king is a concept at least, no clue on wether the concept is still canon to the story
but assuming it is then yes the king is dead
What if all the elders had killed the king as he was despotic.
Crabs live in dark and cramped places
Wasteland is an exemption, not cramped, at all
But it's dark so
And very polluted,,,
i see, so they can only thrive in dark areas
much like krill, but krill dont appear in forest because even though its dark theres more light than dark
krills roll up into a ball
Since the last update Krills fly faster than before and sometimes I see them do a spinny spin
Cute addition
heehoo spinnaroo
I saw some science news a while back that there is evidence of crustaceans helping pollination underwater. This includes Crabs and Krilll (or shrimp but ye)
I wondered if the falling particles from the dark creatures are like... Darkness pollen? And they spread darkness and pollution to the land :0c
Could be, since they're dark creatures after all it makes sense all that comes out of them is dark matter
Maybe theres a still light left in crabs.. 🤣😅
What’s Aviary
pretty much an old homespace back in old beta
it was between prairie and isle, so it was prairie’s social hub
Is this normal to find a dead player? I did try to revive by hooting, does not work, abovr upper sunny forest area near the gate
They’re not dead that’s just an unlit player vibing
^
Thinkin bout life
Wanna see something guys?
no
I have a little theory about one of the elements of the Eden storm. When the eye of eden collapsed, there was a great earthquake that explains why the temples on the eden's mountain are all tilted and also explains the ruins across all the realms ... like the broken bridge at the forest... the broken temple at wasteland, etc...
Did someone said mega bird?
Where is that
Yeah. A little photoshopped it all took
But is it a in game screenshot
The megabird in credit scene and from forest underground cavern and forest starting gate.
After social space
@ember zodiac thank you 😊
@ember zodiac i put together few pics and named them like Star Wars theme. Wanna see?
😂
@ember zodiac i put together few pics and named them like Star Wars theme. Wanna see?
@inland narwhal sure🤩
Not specifically in the timeline
But when I saw that screenshot my immediate reaction was
or well canon**
taking into account the names of the other files... could this mean that the child of light that we hug post eden is actually the king?
and considering that we "merge" with it, does that mean we are part of the king?
Maybe
it would explain the concept art depicting the king
^
Hmm
Could this be king? As it has crown.
Not rlly, it’s more of a symbol and I’ve seen that symbol everywhere
The Child of Light is the King
He must be
The file that I have shown is an audio file
I listened to it
Reika once mentioned a child of light, an entity that we apparently have a relationship with
And ever since I heard that I haven’t rlly looked into the king theory anymore
And then I listened to the sound when hugging the child of light at the end
They are exactly the same
king theory is back babey

this does open up a bunch of other questions though
How bout......we show it to a devy and see what they say
Which pin?
So our mission in Eden is to free the King after all
Maybe the winged lights are the imprints of the King
i do want to see what the devs say... honestly file exploring is usually a key part in theorycrafting and its strange how we only just did it
I feel like I should ping hage real quick

this would be a rad idea for why the Elder is missing!
