The spirits of this season all wear various shades of purple and most of the capes that we get have burgundy/maroon
All the purple we see is in the cloth
we have two lighter sunset colored capes and two dark maroon ish ones
Oooooo
Oo!
The tassle cape is the only one that doesn’t have purple but the other yellow ish one has that maroon section
ye
In the isle elder cutscene when he does his staff magic stuff there’s purple magic
although idk how they have different color dyes unless they mixed colors or another resource that was a different color
hmm
Any ideas what the orange light will do? I hope it opens up the sky
and i doubt they always had those colors on them because vault doesn’t really have any bright colors like that. it’s more like a grey, blue, greyish blue
Do we think that the lights are something made by the supposed industrial things with the diamonds and such or a natural gift thing?
i think orange will bring fire
here’s all the lights and the symbols, just to reference heh
because there are the known elements
orange def looks like fire
water, earth, air..... so yeah i’m pretty sure fire... and the picture up there 👆 the orange light symbol looks like fire
Yeah it does
though i’m a bit confused about the green light
i wonder why they used the alchemist air symbol as earth
that’s what i was wondering
lol
hm
It looks like a mountain to me
I think it was just stylistic
That’s what I was gonna say
It def looks like a mountain or dune
it’s the symbol for air, generally
Representing earth
maybe since the lights travel in the air they used this symbol but made it as earth
Jus bc it looks like the alchemist symbol for air in real life
Doesn’t mean it will be the same in sky
true
I think it represents air tho bc it added the oars and the wind to power it
or maybe they didn’t know this symbol already existed and ment something and was just a coincidence
And it mentioned early winds in the hint
Nope it bought flowers to the land...
cyan light was air/wind
Which one brought the oars
Oh u said air so I got confused 🤧
cyan
The cyan light
Ah okay yeah
Ye
Cyan light is def air
More generally I’d say green could be yes earth but in the sense of fertility and bounty
Purifying the land
In the way blue purified the water
is it possible the green light symbol represents where it’s from? like the purple light in vault?
How do you guys pronounce cyan
Do you say sci-anne
Or Kai-anne
Sci anne
Sci-anne lol
lol
See-en
i say sci-anne
me to
Sci like in sci-fi? That's how you pronounce it?
Yes
Yep
No way, that sounds more like Sayan from Dragonball
Cyan could’ve “purified” the ambient stagnation of the air which is how we got wind
Huh
But that’s a reach
to me it’s just magic
Sayan isn’t pronounced like sci
Do you think its a possibility that in the end cutscene the spirits combine their light to create something big?
I think so
Oooo!
All the end cutscenes usually involve the spirits coming together
I think the 6 white lights you see when you go to the ark have to do with the ending cutscene
In one of the promotional pictures the spirit elder was also holding a white light
;00000
Yea!!
fancy
Well, TIL I've been pronouncing colours and Dragonball power ups wrong
Maybe its the white light that powers the boats of the sky kingdom?
Skskksks
well i was searching the meaning of the green light symbol but i did the shapes separately... i searched triangle and line. and a line represents, “Horizontal lines indicate a sense of motionless rest and peace.” idk about the triangle.. i got different meanings that doesn’t seem to relate
hmm
Does anyone know where I can watch the opening cutscene when you start the game for the first time
It’s pinned
ye ^
So the ark story goes like this:-
Six spirits each with their on light i.e. their source of power were going on a journey with the quest master.(they probably knew that the sky world has kids and stuff). Suddenly they saw a thunderstorm and got worried soon, a thunderbolt hit the ark which didn't make the ark break. Actually it attracted a krill to them, so that krill attacked them several times which caused the ark to break and everyone fell down. (During this process, the quest master took all the lights and and shot them with the catapult, hoping that someone would come and return them (i think they trusted the Sky kids), due to which one light fell in every realm. He did so because he was afraid that the krill would destroy the light.
Now when the spirits had fallen, they found themselves in a desolate land with sand all around. They wanted to escape but didn't because they were too afraid of the krill in the way. So, they thought that they must deal with the situation.
Then, they started living there, there are a few reasons for this:-
- The shrug spirit was trying to make the water pure in his story so that they could drink it.
- The scare Spirit was probably farming crops for them.
- The playfight spirit along with another Spirit was collecting mushroooms, for eating purposes.
They were doing this but then the sky kids found the ark. The spirits got happy. So, the muralist's red light was returned and she painted a mural to tell their story to the sky kids so that they could help them. ( I have two big points to make here - 1. I think that once the spirits lost their lights they couldn't collect them themselves, someone else had to give it to them. If this isn't true, then the muralist could have collected its own light in the ark. 2. I think the lights give the spirits their special powers back. Like the shrug spirit's ability to purify water only came back once he got his light)
@broken basin
This isMyArkTheory.PleaseReviewIt
This way all the spirits' lights were returned and the ark became their home.
I guess that the spirits started liking the ark so they made a decision to live there with the sky kids all around, ruining in happiness.
So the ship won't fly away according to me. (The ark is staying is already confirmed because there are wings there and the tents Which came with the purple light prove that the ship will stay broken.)
This is the left out part
i like that theory
i think i figures out where the captain is.... so... i think this mural doesn’t have to show everyone... i think it could just mean that they fell. idk if you understand what i’m trying to say but i’m just trying to say that this mural represents that people on this ship fell.... but still would have been nice if they added the captain here
though the spirits will still probably leave us T^T
wow i love your theory about the catapult @broken basin
yeah it makes a lot of sense actually
though, off topic, but how does the green light activate?
lightseekers had 6 spirits, right?? So why there are only 5
it may be on the broken part
Im sure now that the krills attacks the ship because it gets attracted by the thunderbolt which fell on the ship
See this whole this
To The far right is the ship which isn't quite visible because of the sand. You can see thunderbolts falling and krills coming towards them.
:0
I always throught krill was just a single piece drawing, no relation to any murals
and i also was thinking that IF there were lightseekers spirits... umm... the lightseekers were searching for a light... they found a few but noticed that they had a power. so. they took the lights to the place where people may know what it is and how it works.. the vault of knowledge. vault people examined it and contained their power in orbs.. (kind of like a water balloon filled with water, ballon contains the water. and when the balloon is popped the water spreads) vault people used the finding to go restore wasteland... then i agree with everything else @broken basin said
Wait is there a catapult in the forgotten ark?
Ohh I don’t think I ever noticed it
it’s underwater, doesn’t work sadly lol
I think each season is kind of self-contained
Maybe it will next light 👀
oooo
yeah ever since the water light was found you can see the catapult much much better
We’re the colored lights contained?
@elder iron the lightseekers were searching for the ultimate light ( which the enchantment's quest giver or captain holds in ur photo) i guess that light light divided itself into the six light following the elements theme ..
THAT MAKES SENSE
as in the story is self-contained
White light is just all light combined after all
ah yeah
wow
interesting
nice
Monday will be fun
and yes i’m pretty sure the element lights were contained in orbs
probably
Yes.
That just clicked to me
White= mix of all colours of visible spectrum
I read another theory on reddit that said that Lightseekers are a position for/or type of spirits who well... seek light.. the white light or other types of light
@cold steppein the beta it'll come day after tomorrow
but this isn't beta
The season is ending day after in beta i guess
makes sense
I’m also not sure if it’s related or not but when you light a spirit they have that orange ball of light within them
still, if it ends in beta, the information should not be shared in here
wait until it hits live
Ok i won't share any info, i just told :)
they contain it
Ohh yessss
i always thought that was wax, since you burn a dark plant inside them
ooh nice
Fire is often associated with life and life force so it could have something to do with that
so what's the one in the middle
See the enchantment's and lightseeker's spirit's are together
me tooo
I don’t think that seasons are self contained
They just tell one part of a bigger picture
I see red light, purple light, etc.
Ooo!!!
Maybe the lights are being distributed among the SoE spirits here
Some seasonal spirits are shown to know other seasonal spirits too in their memories
unless the lights become the symbols
off topic but i just spotted a person in that top pic
season of enchantment
in the lil square lol
lol yeah
In that other theory I read they pointed to the vertical lines on some of those spirits^ which most likely is the vault mask
do you think this ties into "with the stars united, our light was infinite"?
what are these white things?
And maybe the large tablet mask is the vault elder 👀
Those spirits with that mask are probably from vault who were most likely there scholars and academics of the sky culture
or is this post-fall
Yeah Seraph I agree. She was probably like the head academic of vault
@lapis charm @lapis charmbut hey in the ship all the enchantment's spirits have that line
Wait
maybe they came from Vault?
waiting
The hat spirits from lightseekers are well... those are the lightseekers of the sky culture. They wear the hat and use umbrellas to search for light while protecting from rain
the quest giver looks like a scholar
yup
Under that turban is a huge brain
Mhm!!
brain??
Djdjsjsks please
oh
There’s a chibi under the turban controlling the body
heh nvm
Ratatouille..
KWKTKKFKEKRKRI
The lightseekers found the ultimate light, gave it to vault people who then researched about it and found out that its a combination of the six lights. The lights were then given to SoE spirits.
Maybe the vault elder is distributing the lights
I think
could this have contributed to the ultimate destruction?
@cold steppe well we are taking about the story even before that happened
like the spirits weren't able to get access to the lights because they were at the Forgotten Ark?
I am too
didnt one of the spirits try to use one of the lights?
Yes
The water spirit
Shrug spirit
Which is interesting
Because it implies that the spirits can create the light but not as strongly as the found and contained light
i think krill came because when the crabs came they polluted the island and the water (maybe because of crab poopoo? lol idk) and pollution attracted the krill and since krill eat mantas the mantas got scared and flew away (in photo mantas go away from the krill that’s coming toward them)
I don’t know the timeline, but maybe when the battle with the darkness or the doom that destroyed the kingdom of sky and resulted in the state of wasteland, the spirits of enchantment were originally vault academics who were studying the ultimate and colored lights and they tried to escape with the lights from the darkness and ended up crashing into the current state
Wait. Maybe the SoE spirits came to rejuvenate Wasteland with their magic but their magic wasn't powerfull enough. They then went to vault for help. The vault people told them that they have a light which was given to them by lightseeker's spirots, which is a combination of six elemental lights. The lights were then distributed to the enchantment spirits and they were going back ro wasteland when suddenly in the way (my theory to be pasted here)
That’s what I’m confused about. Idk if SoE spirits were traveling to or leaving wasteland
oh speaking of vault... ever noticed that vault is attached to the wasteland temple? when the elders cutscene is over a hallway opens and the hallways is to vault
Yea!!!
Exactly
yes
Yess
vault is a strange place
*very strange
agree
Vault is supposed to be dream-like
Indeed!
The wasteland elder (bby) was could’ve been serving as the last line of defense against the darkness for vault which likely housed something or things the darkness was very attracted to
:0
@lapis charmmaybe they wanted that white light
The academics and ultimate/colored light were housed in vault
also i noticed in the mural that there are extra mini boats that carry one element... i think those are back up elements just in case they need more fresh water or maybe more um earth elements
Yep
outside of home, the only way into Eden is through Vault
We are making progress....
yose
what if the elders were trying to keep the darkness from returning to Eden?
When the battlefield gate opens, krill (the darkness) immediately rise up from the ground as if waiting oooor as if sensing the light inside and they head straight towards the temple, which is the entrance to vault
i’m pretty sure their whole journey goal is to restore wasteland back to beauty
Those krill move with purpose rather than the general scanning behavior of the other krill
Yes!!!! Tuesday your so smart
Listen we are a bunch of galaxy brains
Yes
what if the door just was so loud it woke up the krills from their sleep and just went to investigate what that loud noise (gate/door opening) on the land they claim as theirs
it could also be that
or the movement
which brings up the question again: were the spirits the invaders or the krill?
No you😤😤 (all) I'm just sitting here so amazed at all of your theory building and stuff it's so sweet!
@cold steppebut that waiting for the door to open for searching light just fits perfectly. :(
i don’t think so @cold steppe
Hmmm well are the krill attracted to noise?
it's slightly frustrating sometimes to figure out what is lore and what is game mechanics
yep
Haha but its fun too
Yea haha!
Kind of a mind training
yeah
krill generally just follow a path and aren’t attracted to anything
i think wasteland was always sandy but they used that land as a place to do damage like war/battles. also could have used up their resources in that land and that caused pollution. but krills live in a place where there is pollution and abandonment.
with the addition of the SoE light quests, it seems like the light restored plants to Wasteland (though it's not clear if it's because the water was purified or not, think like an oasis)
i’d like to see what wasteland looked like before it was corrupted, i know the first krill area is most likely the forest temple but i’m curious about the other areas
sadly the light didn’t add plants everywhere on that island
that's what I mean
I'm kind of bad at expressing my thoughts quickly
like the water allowed the green light to restore plants in an oasis-like situation
all the realms are separate places right
i think somewhere in pins it says that wasteland was like forest?? (theories) but j could be wrong, might be a misread
where there's an area of green plants and the rest is sandier
the first krill area in wasteland really resembles the forest temple however
Maybe it was that theory that traveling the realms is traveling through the same place at different times
I think that’s just the architecture
the forest temple resemblance is part of the power diamond refinery/factory theory
Soo it goes like this
Lightseekers spirits find the light and give it to vault> vault people discover its a combi of 6 elemental lights>SoE spirits come to rejuvenate wasteland>either their magic fails or they get terrified by the krills>they go to vault>they are given the lights due to which their magic strengthens>they are on their way to wasteland and then my theory takes place.
that the Forest "temple" was where the power diamonds were manufactured, and Wasteland is where they were refined
i think what causes pollution is the lack of resources (like how trees make fresh air and with out them there will be no fresh air) and the lack of those resources attracted crabs which polluted the water and polluted water kills more things. and then krill was attracted to that so more krill came
which would also support the theory that Wasteland was polluted from the refinery byproducts
I agree with that
Me 2
agree with which
Yea!
though it really could be a combination of the two
I agree with all of them
yes
the realms can't clean themselves without organic matter
so Wasteland could have had a double problem
All throughout the world and I think in murals if I’m not mistaken it seems like the boats in the realms transport upwards through the realms (the realms are ascending from isle to eden)
yup
yeah
Poor wasteland
however, it's interesting that there are crabs in Forest
some in the little cave and some in the temple
Yea!!!
the temple could be explained by the fact that that's where the power diamonds were made (maybe)
And where the hide n seek spirit is too
They are in all the dark places of the forest
The boats were used by spirits to harvest something (light?)) and transport the light to presumably forest where something was done to the collected stuff (power diamonds) then transported to wasteland/vault
Where they’re refined or something in wasteland, stored?? In vault
The pots were filled with light
i don’t think they are as sending to eden because after vault is eden and they left vault and ended up in wasteland which is a different direction. but perhaps if they were going to eden the storm happened and set them off corse. but that would have to be a strong gust of wind to get them all the way to wasteland
I feel that there is a connection here with the prairie elder-
so I'm not super great about the way oars are supposed to go on boats (if the things on the back are oars)
Is it possible they were getting that light from creatures though? Which is why butterflies are found near and stuck inside pots
Yea
but it looks like the boats on the left are going one way and the boats on the right are going the other
if they are taking light from creatures does that mean they are killing the creatures? because us children basically die without light
Maybe they were trapping butterflies in pots in the praries to send then to first where it is manufacture into light
Maybe the butterflys needed to be recharged or something?
the power diamond theory is that Prairie loaded the pots with butterflies (and maybe other light creatures), sent them to Forest, Forest made the power diamonds, they were sent to Wasteland, and they were refined in Wasteland
That would be sad and grim but also fit in thematically with themes of over farming or greed leading to the downfall of their civilization
or so
the only place that isn't really clear in the lore is Valley
Indeed😔
The prarie elder looks so polite but his motto is to catch poor butterflies
@elder ironyeah we left that
Has anyone compiled a collection of photos of all examples of Sky hieroglyphs and visual lore somewhere?
I feel like we need that 🤔
🧐
I see our theory is going to a darker side
I always saw the valley as a place for life to flourish and grow, specifically the natives that lived there and such?? Idk it seems to be alot of little huts and cool stuff
Aww idk if my message sent
I always want to be able to explore the Valley more... all those little huts and cool stuff
Maybe once I'm done with what I'm doin rn I'll go take some pictures of things!
Wait that would fit in with something’s Seraph was saying yesterday
Seraph was saying how we skykids have both light and darkness in ourselves which is why when we die in eden there’s (possibly, unconfirmed) two of us: the shaded dark us and the light us who hug each other blah blah
Perhaps all the creatures in the sky are this way
Yea!!!
But what the spirits were doing was harvesting the light from the creatures. They would strip the light from them and compile it into the power diamonds but this leaves the dark husks of the creatures who have completely lost their connection to their light side
i noticed small amount of white small flowers in valley. near the hill you slide down at the beginning and in the sliding race. maybe valley used to not be covered in snow OR they are flowers that can grow in snow. just cool to think valley was not always covered in snow
Severed from the light aspect, they can’t recharge simply the way we do when we’re out of light. They have an insatiable appetite for light and are never filled up when they consume it. Explaining why krill and crabs don’t just recharge and revert to light creatures when they get light
So them using that power source was basically the downfall of their species? :( it would make sense.
and maybe valley has athletes and races because when you run your hot and sweat 😓 and it’s nice to have coldness when your hot
That’s also very very in line with what the people in Journey were doing with the scarf creatures
Yeah!!
They used the living light sources for power and technology (vault is very technologically developed compared to the rest of the realms) without regard for the lives of living creatures and the consequences of the darkness byproducts
Yeah.. man sounds kinda familiar doesn't it haha
Anyhow
I definitely think that is very plausible!! It fits pretty well with everything
oo just noticed that the lands have more man made stuff the more forward you go. like isle doesn’t have a lot of man made things, prairie has more man made items then isle, and so on so on.
Oh yeah!
maybe that could also mean building up your life because sky is about life
But also the valley seems to be the most populated region? Like if you look at all the little huts, huge bleachers and such. I feel like alot of people lived there and maybe aslo work elsewhere traveling on cargo boats and such place to place
The lower classes at the bottom harvesting light and the higher more educated towards the top and then the royalty or king at the peak
Is the whole world just the same place but in different timelines
ooh @elder iron that's an interesting observation
From creation to destruction
Oh true true
(the more man made things progression)
Indeed!
I don’t think it’s the same place different timelines
big and many bleachers in valley could also be for people to come far and wide to watch who wins the race
I also don’t think it’s the same place, the realms are too different and some lead straight into the other
yeah i think they are different lands
We can physically see and approach eden, traveling through the different realms spatially
Like how isle and prairie temples are literally leading u into the next world
I also think they are different lands...but I do think the same place/diff timeline concept is fascinating
Yeah that would be super cool Kai
definitely
Yea!
yeah i think all this just takes on one big land but indifferent regions
it does feel like we're seeing a bit of that with the ark though, like we're seeing the same place in different points in its timeline
beam the bean!
😆
Lololol
Like in the beginning you're nothing (isle), then you develop and develop and become a success (valley). Then comes the detoriation process. You slowly slowly begin to fade and then its all gone.... Darkness all around but then you are given another life and everything becomes a cycle
Wasteland means fading
Senescence
Vault means remebering
Aging and waning
yes, well this ties into the lore shown in the office: birth through death and rebirth
I wish I could find some high res images of those concept posters from the office walls
Then y'all know what eden means 🥺
I want to study them in detail
Valley is adulthood and it’s the peak of your life. That’s why valley is in mountain peaks and it’s so joyful aaaand also why you physically travel down to wasteland
@lapis charmyou are my mind lol
So from what I've gathered it's about the birth/creation and destruction of the creations by most dominant species. And a rebirth again seen at the end of the game right?
I was just thinking the same
From prairie up to valley you’re climbing upwards toward adulthood and you reach your peak and then you start waning in health and strength, aging toward wasteland and old age
I never thought about the uphill/climbing/flying upwards of the first few realms versus the downwards spiral into the wasteland and then straight across into the vault...
an astute observation @lapis charm
Yeah becan except I don’t think it’s about the creation of the spirits, but the creation of their kingdom in the clouds
Thanks Kai!
Okay!
Omg I didn’t even consider the spiral
I think that although the lands represent aging and the progression of life, that’s not what they physically are
There’s symbolism in the lands but I think there could be room for a story like lore beneath it
Oh I didn’t mean it physically as in like all the kids are in prairie and all the adults are in valley
I mean that the way you travel from realm to realm is symbolic of traveling through stages of life
Isle(birth. You are nothing but a Blank canvas)
Prairie ( kid. You are happy and cheerful)
Forest (teenage. There are many obstacles and sad things but you deal with them)
Valley(adulthood. You are given the reward of your hardwork, you are awarded with success)
Wastland (old age. You slowly start to become weaker and weaker.)
Vault (remembering a your life once again. You remember what you did, what were you and how special were you!)
Eden- death.
Orbit-rebirth(you start all over)
The spiral could definitely represent the mid life crisis or the spiral out of control when we admit and have to confront the reality that were coming down from our peak
Sky represents life
If sky represents life, how do u think the elders of each realm play in with that? They each have different characteristics and different ways of guiding us, and we are helping them too
Wondering how that could tie in with the symbolism
I find the vault part to be the most intresting. You remember everything and that actually happnes in vault in game, we see every constellation, each with its own dedicated floor.
@wintry islandi guess they represent the most affecting emotions in that particular age of life
We are diving DEEEEEP
We are seeing there pasts lives, not? We are reliving and watching and studing they're lives as well live our own as well. And seeing the down fall of their journey
Wooo!!
@vague ploverwell we see the rise and fall both
@wintry island I wonder if it represents mentors/parental figures that age group needs the most. That’s really interesting but it seems like a reach
Would have been much better if valley elders weren't siblings, they were......
It’s interesting to me because it feels that isle to valley elders get younger with each realm, and then also the forest elder’s “greed” when taking our light, if that makes sense
Indeed!!
So it would be cool to find connections between each elder to the symbolism of the realm
Because most affecting emotion in adulthood is love and affection
@wintry island the devs in one stream (can't recall who) is the elders appear as we adults in each life stage.
valley has 2 paths to choose from. do the paths mean something?
So in Isle, everyone seems old and guide you.
In prairie, they are intimidating but cuddly and playful
@elder ironumm one is the longer one but u get more wax and wings
Wax and wings mean success i guess
By forest, they can be short with you, and Valley, young adulthood, the adults are your peers
Isle - grandpa elder representing gently caring for and pointing infants
Prairie - big softie elder day caring and teaching children
Forest - forest elder seems stricter which could represent the maybe more discipline you need to deal with teenage angst
Valley - the twins idk they just seem happy and competitive representing the competitiveness that drives production in adulthood
Wasteland - big strong guy protecting the elderly
Vault - vault elder makes me think of a hospice nurse type of figure with a warm/sad hand as we head towards our death
This feels like my most reachy theory but it’s cute to think about
but in both races you success
Oo that could also symbolize that the path that’s longer, u work harder for it and u get rewarded more
Yeah maelstrom! I agree with the valley peers thing
I have a feeling it may have been jenova on one of the Japanese streams
well i go now. bye
I like this theory too. It’s speculating the symbolism more than the story, it’s interesting
Yess
Yeah! It feels the most right in a way even though I really love looking at all the little things in each area
Ohhhh now i know
TGC is so creative and talented I think a lot of the things that are symbolic are definitely intentional
Right!!!
Wasteland is connected to vault because vault doesn't represent a full phase of life, its a part of the phase of fading away... And eden is also connected because we don't develop after reaching wastland. Its just getting old while think about your past and then dying, Which isnt predictable so that's why its connected i guess.
This is also something I pointed out weeks ago, but it’s interesting that with the isle dude, it seems that the birds that he guided we see at the end, at the death stage
Like seraphs theory about the whales we see being just one whale following us I think the same about the birds
Yess
I think that flock of birds from isle fly with us towards eden
Yea!!!
Wasteland is connected to vault because vault doesn't represent a full phase of life, its a part of the phase of fading away... And eden is also connected because we don't develop after reaching wastland. Its just getting old while think about your past and then dying, Which isnt predictable so that's why its connected i guess.
@broken basin
What do u think of this?
I agree, I think these birds in valley elder scene could be the same ones
The birds also fly from prairie to forest to valley
Wasteland is connected to vault because vault doesn't represent a full phase of life, its a part of the phase of fading away... And eden is also connected because we don't develop after reaching wastland. Its just getting old while think about your past and then dying, Which isnt predictable so that's why its connected i guess.
@broken basin I disagree it represents an age of wisdom. No longer do you have any obligations to tend and so the world leaves you in peace. In this quietness, you able to gather and reflect your experiences and finalize your legacy.
What’s cool is we meet these birds at “birth”, and they are guiding us by the isle elder, and we see them throughout the entire span of our “lives”, even till death. What do y’all think the birds symbolize?
It reminds me of one psychosocial development theory
I can’t remember now I gotta look it up when I get home
@wintry islandi think they symbolise our guides like parents, teachers, friends
I think the bird represents the passage of time like a thread of life
Maybe it's a way the elders guide you? Like with the whale sir
It is always constant and constantly moving
That to!
Ye I like to think that the gandalf elder is guiding us :'3
The Whale doesn't guide us. It actually protects us from a falling pillar by passing through it and breaking it into pieces.
I always crash into the whale tho lmao-
Lol
same @wintry island
Do u lose light??
Yeah! So the birds guide, whale protects! Nice
no
No just screen gets big shaky
The whale just looks cool
It means that every creature also symbolises something!!!
it shakes and makes an impact sound but doesnt hurt me
Okay but the whale is my favorite creature, like I love the voice it makes
Whoever said it seems like the elders get younger from isle to valley I definitely see that
This game is all about symbolisation to real life
I remember we see it on our way to the wasteland, in the hidden forest area and in eden
I think that was confirmed?
I like the theory that they get younger because we get older, and that’s what we view them as. Then with wasteland and vault we now view ourselves as old, not young anymore
It seems like at valley the twins are the same age ish to the stage of life valley represents and then in wasteland we have the big guy representing protecting the elderly of the old age stage represented by wasteland
Yeah!
Yes!!
I don't think it's anything related to their appearance or age....
This is because valley represents adulthood but the elders like you said are small like kids or teens...
So i think that nothing had to do with their physical appearance. Its all about what their behaviour symbolises.
This is just my opinion :)/
True true it’s all about what they represent. I do think their behavior and personality is more symbolic but it seems like their appearance/age plays into the representation as well
I 👏🏼 love 👏🏼 lore
Yeah me too
My mind goes in vault mode
Full knowledge activate lol
I like how deep people get into the theories
This theory is solid
Has it been discussed before
??
I'm new to the game actually its just been 1 month
Since i started
I have no clue. I’ve been playing for a while but I only got on the discord this month
Yeah it really cool!
Yup
One thing I always wonder is the location of orbit in relation to the giant ball of light/congregation of spirits when you’re flying to orbit
Hmmm
Can be true
Wait
Many people have said that the designs floating around office portal represent the orbit sphere with mantas flying all around it
Ohhh I never connected the two
Ohh
Are the Elders Godlike beings?
Sort of
Maybe the story is like a fight between Angels and demons or you can say Light vs Darkness
We are yet to witness the Dark Elders I think..
Or the entity of darkness
The elders actually are dark but it depends on ur view of darkness
Dark is simply absence of light and we save the elders by reconnecting them with it, there isn’t much concept of any battle with evil elders
There are only 6
Hmm.. That's why I like to think the elders are just powerless instead of dead because we give their light back to them
And they tell us what happened before
They don’t tell us what happened before but ur right about us giving them their light and how they are powerless
I mean they tell something about the civilization.. about how they taught the people..
Murals do
Hmm
I was wondering
Why of all things only the small buildings were destroyed but not the Temples?
A lot of stuff are kept intact besides temples too
Why of all things only the small buildings were destroyed but not the Temples?
@steep coyote that's only in Wasteland
Yeah but why? They were protected by magic or something?
Plus it’s likely skykids came wayyyyy way after the decline of the sky kingdom so it’s obvious there’s going to be ruin and decay
@ember zodiac nope also Valley has broken buildings
@ember zodiac nope also Valley has broken buildings
@steep coyote only in the flying race tho
Ah yeah, I forgot about that - nevermind, forget the question AHAHAH
Ima call you boba tea
The real mystery is... Why are butterflies in freaking WESTELAND?? in the Graveyard also -
Survivors
There are only 6
@sly kestrel u don't believe there's an eden elder?
Ima call you boba tea
@sly kestrel
Meany - slaps
oh

what could the ancestors be, since they're not stars
It maybe like this... The eden elder wanted to harness darkness using the eden diamond but he failed and turned into the darkside and became one with the entity of darkness.. after that Darkness covered all the realms
Nah
"humans" is a relative term
we can call them ancestors?
And for now, let’s jus call the spirits humans until we actually kno their race
yeah
But elders on the other hand, they aren’t humans
the elders are stars
@sly kestrel do u think there was an eden elder
They are giants - (Attack on Spirits --)
the fallen stars actually
They are referred to as stars in the intro but “star” has a lot of meanings in the world of sky
Maybe like small planets?
nothing in sky has mouths
Sky ppl
except the krill I guess???
That’s better
and the whales
mandibles
So do mantas
krill have mandibles
Shooot I forgot some lights in Westeland
Run
The large mantas in prarie go :V

how do we beep with no mouth
It maybe like this... The eden elder wanted to harness darkness using the eden diamond but he failed and turned into the darkside and became one with the entity of darkness.. after that Darkness covered all the realms
@ember zodiac So the elders prayed to the light to help them.. The light sends us to stop the eden diamond... We give light to the other skykids who failed earlier and die.. the freed skykids destroys the Eden diamond and then ascend to heaven with us for rebirth..
very unlikely theory
Our main mission was to save the elders but as u noticed
There were skykids before us, bigger and they ascend as stars. Based on where they died, my guess is that THEIR mission was to stop the diamond
I think all the elders contributed to the state of the kingdom and it wasn’t just the king
yeah
we see all the elders take our light
wait
I just had a big brain moment
diminishing return
the reason we're smaller is because we've rebirthed so many times before
Forest elder coulda found the cure to cancer or sumtin
Instead she decided to invent PoWER diAmoNdS
They use our light bc we give it to them...
Even the skykid is scared
because we've given our light to the elders so many times
it's grown weaker
you could argue chibis could work into this too
I had a Crab when I met her the 5th time, I was wondering if she woulda took it or not
but that's just my theory
(5th time rewatching the Cutscene because I skip sometimes)
I didn't find my light weak -
Vault mama is like.... She wanted to stop the other elders from doing something she knew would destroy the kingdom
smaller, I guess?
we know how that ended out
also
vault is the "holy land" from the concept art
Forbidden knowledge
because we've given our light to the elders so many times
@mellow sable I don’t think the fact that we continue giving them our light is lore related. I think we are able to keep giving it to them over and over jus for the ability to replay the game and replay the events. Like after the credits and our mission is complete, I think that’s when we complete the story and our main mission. Like how the eden statues reset every week
the rebirth is a part of the actual lore
Yep
megabird constantly cycles through sky kids
Who here came up with the crabs are baby krill theory I just wanna talk 👀
Maybe after giving our light to the elders they become strong enough to destroy Eden... End of story... Which is not shown..
Actually
Thats means the story continues over and over again without end?
Isn't the light God?
What if we're just living the same day again and again? By day I mean life. Like you die, it turns back to the beginning
it spits out sky kids into home and guides them throughout their journey via the imprints of the child of light
And the spirits realize so they give us buffs to help us
Maybe the shiny bois are us ourselves
that's what ascended typically means
it spits out sky kids into home and guides them throughout their journey via the imprints of the child of light
Hmm maybe
one with a higher state of mind
True..
when we ascend spirits, we make them "aware" of the current situation
They should give an end to the lore tho...
Today I was thinking about something.... Eden in the Christian mythology was the place created by God where Adam and Eve could live happy and with everything they needed. Then after they eat the Apple, God banish them away because they committed a Sin. Is Sky Eden a reference of Christian Eden when everything is supposed to be beautiful, but then it's all corrupted due to Men's sin?
yes

@steep coyote hmmm
the power diamonds are the apple
Oh most probably
Hubris
Yep hubris
And the Ark reminds me of Arabians countries
XD
Maybe the moral of the story is that man will never be satisfied.. and so he can never reach Eden...
Yes eden is a reference to the garden of eden
More as a buddist game it's a mixture of all religions
It’s called original sin in the Japanese translation which is done in house
But every believing started with a man and a woman entering earth
So we can't just tie it to Christian
Also I believe the eden constellation you see in the vault elder cutscene is the king eating the “apple”
THE EDEN DIAMOND
Yup, Adam and Eve committed the very first Sin, thus destroying Eden
IS THE TREE
The concept of Eden isn't there in the Hindu mythology tho
Oh Seraph
@wind bone you are a genius
^

Diamond is the Apple Maybe
Also can someone tell me what does the game say at the very first intro video?
@ember zodiac I'm not so informed about it I'm so sorry! I'll check it later :3
Like the texts
Oh it’s pinned
its pinned in this channel diana~
Oh k
With the stars united, our light was infinite.
But darkness came, and the stars fell...
Together, the fallen stars made a new home in the clouds.
If only they had listened...
A long time has passed. Now, I call to you.
Wake up, child. Bring our lost stars home.
Tbh I feel like skykids are the angels cleaning up after the humans
They look nothing like the ancestor spirits we see
hm
Yes sky kids and ancestors are not the same “species”
"If only they had listened..."
let's dissect this shall we?
Is this some kind of Nier/Drakengard/Devilman Crybaby thing? Ahaha
Elders feel like Angels banished
first sentence, clear reference to megabird
And then they taught spirits
Which is the megabird?
The stars fell are the winged lights
second, the fall of the elders from orbit (heaven)
Isn't Megabird a Phoenix? Thus resembling the Rebirth thing?
No they are the elders i think
What did they didn't listen to?
A long time has passed explains the elders turning into stones
We don’t know what the mega bird really looks like
But that thing in the water by the office portal is the megabird
It’s like
Where is the megabird then?
An amalgamation
I always see It as a Phoenix :0 idk why
It’s the thing you see when the credits finish
i think i have pics
Is the ball of light in the orbit the megabird?
I cannot for the life of me get a shape out of the image it’s just.. Something
Maybe ?
Like phoenix force from marvel
Idk the english Word...
Trueee
It does look like when Jean released the Phoenix force
Like that last scene when she "died"
It does look like it a lot
True true -
if you watch through the credits, youll see it
Ooh
the credits arent long at all, so feel free to watch it whenever you get the chance
its actually very pleasant
I will this time
Ok let's make a summary of the intro:
With the stars united, our light was infinite. ->Megabird, the ancestors uniting?
But darkness came, and the stars fell... ->Elders falling from Orbit
Together, the fallen stars made a new home in the clouds. ->Creation of the six realms
If only they had listened... ->The sin someone did, The King eating the apple aka using diamonds to control light and darkness
A long time has passed. Now, I call to you. ->Elders turning into stone
Wake up, child. Bring our lost stars home. ->Us retrieving WL's to Eden.
Any extra ideas?
They tried to harness darkness maybe
Hmm maybe
Using darkstones
Aka the diamonds
And then some accident happened
Kinda like a nuclear accident
That spewed darkness onto the entire kingdom
Yeah well the door to Eden is shut until we stumble upon it
Perhaps the elders were shut out of Eden?
The megabird as well as the ball congregation of light creatures in orbit reminds me of the Hindu concept of Brahman
When we see everything from vault elder, we're allowed in
The megabird as well as the ball congregation of light creatures in orbit reminds me of the Hindu concept of Brahman
@lapis charm true
I dunno those things so shrug
Orbit feels like it draws from Buddhism, hinduism, and possibly Christian heaven
Brahman is the omnipresent, omnipotent force who has no form or gender
Oh
Is there a way we confirm how long ago the elders last visited Eden?
It’s said to be like one with everything. And that if you’re able to break the cycle of reincarnation you become one with it
No Vinde
He can do anything by himself and so takes forms into different Gods and Goddesses you know of...
Which is what we see with all the light creatures in orbit joining together into a singular point
Okay orbit explanation now.
That's why there are so many deities in Hinduism.. but ultimately they are the one and the same
We see elders in orbit when we collect everything from the ancestors
So Elders probably lived in Orbit
Or eden when it was normal
Which brings me to my earlier question of the physical relationship between that ball of everyone and the orbit that we can walk around in before stepping through the rebirth portal (continuing samsara)
Ball of everyone?
Maybe the Elders are different forms of the Megabird itself
When you’re flying to orbit all the skykids and mantas flying in that ball
the ball of light you fly into post eden
Ohh that
You fly towards the ball, screen flashes white, and you’re in orbit
See ya guys.. its always interesting to talk here.. Goodnight
Goodnight! Sleep well
Gn
Yeah but the size of that ball and the size of the orbit you walk around in do not correspond
Going on, I just realized our theory doesn't fit the "civil war" theory.
Maybe after they fell, the diamond side tried to keep on and the other side learned a lesson?
My question: Is the ending of sky really happy? And what brought this question to me was the whale/big fish destroying that first part of "orbit" with the buildings. I can't think of any theories rn but just putting it out there
Can I read the civil war theory somewhere? Never seen it
Yeah but the size of that ball and the size of the orbit you walk around in do not correspond
Do we know how big orbit is?
yea that's pretty much how i interpreted the narration
Can I read the civil war theory somewhere? Never seen it
Pins
Thank you!
but i found the illustrations more interesting

Sky doesn't really have an end, just replays

@olive socket i dont think thats meant to have any kind of interpretation other than "the animals are all ascending to orbit"
And we don’t know for sure but the space inside and the dimensions of the orbit we walk around in and that of the ball don’t match up in normal conventions
maybe the space in orbit and ascent is kind of the similar situation as visiting the elders
"a place outside of time and space"
When you’re walking around in orbit and you look up, you see stars. If orbit were inside that ball in the way a living room is inside a house, you would see a “ceiling” of white light the way you’d see the house’s ceiling
When you’re walking around in orbit and you look up, you see stars. If orbit were inside that ball in the way a living room is inside a house, you would see a “ceiling” of white light the way you’d see the house’s ceiling
Hmmm
however, the king isn't confirmed to be in game
Perhaps the king is the krill?👀
Whaaaa?
there's a lot of pictures that could indicate the presence of the king, but we don't really have any confirmed lore about it
lol
i consider orbit to be a metaphysical place
Same Dae
the king concept is more from the concept art than anything else
I feel like orbit could even be inside or connected to the mega bird itself
though what was going to be the Eden constellation was made into the favorite friends constellation
I have a theory about the megabird
let me see if I can find it
I'll just link it
Also it’s interesting to note that in the opening cutscene of the game
Hm yea
Whoever is narrating uses “they” in reference to the spirits and possibly elders and says “bring our lost stars home”.
This implies that whoever is activating the skykids is someone who did not fall like other stars and stayed in orbit the whole time
I personally headcanon that it's the megabird speaking
but the megabird is also not confirmed to be in-game
People, sorry, I gotta sleep as well. But go on with he intro text and the fall of elders!
I personally headcanon that it's the megabird speaking
Agree
No worries! Nice talking with you. Goodnight!
Kids were sent by megabird based on their chest symbol lining up with with the Eden door
???
It's not the elders as we can see they are all dormant at the beginning of the game spirits are dead. So it must be megabird
I don't think anything else can assert the kind of power needed to make skykids
I thought maybe we were wax collecting prototypes designed by the elders
But it doesn't add up
assuming the concept of megabird is still canon anyways. its clear a deity type entity sent us with this mission but we have no confirmation on wether its megabird or something esle
there is one thing standing in the way of megabird theory
let me find the pic rq
we have no clue what this character is, but judging off of the words in the intro paired with the visuals some people believe that person is the one speaking to skykids
The post-prince???
What about the light kid in the death curscene
Maybe it's similar to "truth" from full metal alchemist?
Buff skykids are actually canon.
I mean
The wind in ||Eden can carry HUGE rocks|| but not us-
We only get yeeted when rocks hit us.
lore chat doesnt need spoilers
its all ive ever hoped and dreamed
Maybe it's similar to "truth" from full metal alchemist?
@undone steppe whats this?
Somehow i believe that 'person' was from eden
Like, iirc eden is still up there..? Not fallen like the other stars?
that person actually stayed up there and didnt fall like the rest of the elders IIRC
however, the elder that fell down to eden... didnt come from orbit
if you rewatch the intro cutscene youll see that the star that lands in eden comes from a different place than the rest of the elders
Ahh..yeah I noticed that, the star-line for Eden was from the middle not from up there
yes that ^^
I think the spirits and such are descendants of those who fell from eden. That's why they don't have light. We are also citizens like the spirits but not grown up
When we return to space we regain our true light for a while, like the lightboi we hug, and gain tremendous power that we are supposed to have and shine like we do etc
Can smash through those huge walls while flying up and so on
TGC has confirmed that we're not the same species as the spirits
That's cool
don't remember if elders and spirits are the same or not
Hmm where did the ancestors come from?
Fallen stars or sumthin
don't remember if elders and spirits are the same or not
@cold steppe elders and spirits are completely different as well
i was thinking that after all the spirits built all of these structures and.. "passed" i guess, that years later suddenly they're back as spirits, and there are these "weird playful curious creatures" (sky children) wandering around the places they built, learning about their history, and the spirits were tasked with teaching them the history of these places
The spirits were ppl once too, and they were always in the sky world before the elders fell to their level
Do you lie?
i wonder if previous skykids saved other spirits in the past, so that’s why we only get to see and save a couple of them
would kinda explain the “why are only these spirits here when there were possibly thousands of other spirits that we could’ve saved”
oh yeah!! i thought about that myself but never bothered to theorize about it
the "previous skykid" theory actually explains a lot of things plot wise
it would also make for a good game
Not sure if this belongs here but a sketch of butterfly transportation from forest wall art
claw marks on pot?
This was posted a while ago
Is it alright if I ask where u guys got this image?
@elder iron When I saw that I just assumed that maybe they dropped it and it scratched on some rocks. The other pots don't seem to have claw marks, and if a beast or something had raked it wouldn't it have also hit the pots near it?
Haha I dunno
I'm not a scholar like Jay and Vinte though so I can't say for sure XD
Also in terms of previous skykids, do you think they're the statues in eden?
We don't see them around (assuming they did exist), meaning they must have either gone extinct or sort of left the area
!er
The Eye of Eden resets once per week.
Next reset is on Sunday May 24 at 00:00 PDT (In 1 day 4 hours 1 minute 14 seconds)
And since current skykids are sort of immortal, I don't think they could have 'died out'
Meaning something bad oncce have happened to them
And also please don't do the whole er thing here there's an eden spoilers caht for that...
it does seem like that bc the statues in eden look pretty similar to us
Yeah i know right!

But the question is: why are they stuck in Eden and why did they turn into statues?
i think they were like us trying to get to the center of eden?
Hm yeah
At first I thought they were trying to lead an assault against the evil diamond or something XD
lmaoo
I don't even know how that works my brain just be like
that'd be hilarious tho
and kinda sad actually
like as a last ditch attempt they went together to try and stop eden
If you die at Eden your ultimately giving out your life right? And thus you turn into stone

Devoid of warmth
although ironically we broke free bc we didn't go for the storm like the statues in eden
but we gave out the light we had
Look the cutscene when you turn into the light boi
Also do I have to censor spoilers in this chat
You pop out from the statues
I think so
Yep yep
Oh my...😳.. there a little kid in orbit.

Were giving our wings to save those who went ahead of us
Exactly!!!
Maybe the skykids before us were sort of 'selfish' and didn't give their lights to each other?
Like every man for himself
Until another sky kid rescues you
@simple zodiac
We don’t turn into stone when we die.....where are u getting all this
Thus giving them a chance to reborn
wait what exactly are skykids
And the skykids we save are bigger and ascend into stars
cuz they aren't spirits
and because we're 'selfless' and sacrificing ourselves we don't die forever
@sly kestrel im just asking if im right or something not confirming stuff
Sorry if i made it look like im saying is fact
And the fact that we save eden kids over and over again is so we can have replayability and keep getting ascended candles
Mhmm, in terms of real life
basically following game logic the cycle theory would be valid
That's obviously a design mechanic of the game
But this is skykid universe, and skykid unvierse must have an answer for having creepy staues in a ocean of acid water right?
Were just descussion our own theory about loop type thing
Yep I agree with zed
This is a lore discussion right?
Yeah we're in the right chat
At least I think we're in the right chat
Yeah we're in the right chat
The storm
like we can't go in the storm
I mean
unless someone hacks it
heh heh I've been trying to clip through
Cuz if you look at your character closely
When you die at eden
Rocks form around you
Yeah when you die in eden rocks slowly form around you
Kinda like a crab
So that brings me to think we turn into stone
I think the reason is that we're made of light
And warmth and heat
and we slowly lose that in eden, right?
Which causes the crusty stuff to grow over us
So thus a lot of sky kids has been there before us
yeah
Maybe those kids
But why don't those skykids also reach orbit?
Seen what happened before the fall?
Perhaps
And if you look at the skykids in the past, they got blue crystals growing in them too
Like we said its like a cycle
I don't think it's just the red rocks and stuff that stopped them
Like it looks like they're being stabbed by angry blue rocks
Sky kids are selfless creatures i presume
