My theory said darkness came to elders as pride and thought that the light (the creator/highest deity) was not needed and wanted to replace it with an everlasting power diamond( eye of Eden) but when ignited it started becoming unstable and corrupt. Instead of summoning light creatures it was making the dark creatures

I kinda believe they were megabird’s first prototype of sky kids. sent to restore the land. They built warp/social space/tomb stones and did clean up but ultimately failed to restore eden and got
