my tip for knocking over crabs is stay a distance from crab that they don’t get mad at seeing you and make loud call and should work or sometimes if your far far away they come chase you

From what I could understand from the canon lore, dark plants naturally grew from the light the ancestors used. Those jars were said to contain light resources. They naturally grew as a shadow would naturally appear when light is present.

They most likely made them unburnable on purpose.

Much like our sun, the light it gives sustains life at the right area (Goldilocks Zone)
