Star theory:
In the beginning, it did say the megabird (or someone else) scattered the elders / constellations. If we think of it realistically it would be caused by a supernova or the Big Bang, the constellations separating would represent the beginning of the universe.
Anyways-
When the constellations scattered. The elders made Eden, if we think of Eden realistically it would be a sector or a star system

Sky kids being compared to stars and supernovas I think there was a part in the narration in the start of the game they refer to us as a star? And to save the other stars (elders and spirits)

I also think the krills weren’t always what they used to be, maybe they used to be wild light creatures and were tamed well by the wasteland elder as his allies, then Eden destruction happened which cause the used to be wasteland to be the wasteland now, causing dramatic changes to the krill physically and mentally.

Maybe the krill’s light is used to catch food, and because they have no other food, they think we are the food now

I was backreading and I saw one comment said that one of the valley twins’ statue face is broken?
So what if one of the twin () defeated the other () over envy and pride? I know this might be controversial to some people, but it reminds me of two siblings where one murders the other because of envy (in the bible)

I’m guessing the big Eden diamond isn’t the only mistake they’ve done, maybe some elders committed other mistakes too which affected their environment and the light creatures like: forest elder with her industry, causing pollution to the waters and toxic rain, wasteland? krills first appear in wasteland so maybe abuse to the krills who used to be light creatures?

from concept arts, the crabs were based off of horseshoe crabs. interestingly, these crabs are being harvested for their blue blood bc its useful in the medical fields

as for krills.. they werent even krills in the concept arts

but horseshoe crabs are also easy to draw, from above anyway. they’re flat and spiky and everything’s else is hidden under them so. probably why the devs chose those crabs specifically
