I don't know, I finished Eden yesterday and I noticed the way we fell back to ground, I was also wondering why our friends are like lights in the sky, why isn't just a friends list like other games.

Did the developers ever give us actual words to hint some kind of story behind the game?

It would kinda make sense that we as players are stars by the way we die, when a star "dies" it can turn into a black dwarf which Is specifically a white dwarf that has cooled sufficiently that it no longer emits significant heat or light.

And when we die we turn into a thing that will resemble a statue

boats are mainly for the use of carrying pots of light. You can see these pots of light being made at prairie and I say pots of light because there are butterflies put inside them. In the wave emote cutscene u can actually see the flying boat that’s carrying a bunch of pots.
These pots are being shipped to forest to make power diamonds, they combine the light with organic material at forest and use a diamond press to combine them into an artificial Star, or what we call “power diamond”. You can actually see the concept of this by looking at the forest temple door mural. And I know I’ve been explaining this theory over and over and over again but I’m in quarantine and I got nothing else to do but heres another way of looking how power diamonds are made. This “diamond press” in the picture is also seen at the golden wasteland, and there’s a krill flying around it. Also the shipwreck at wasteland is seen to be carrying certain pieces of this diamond press, it goes to the top and sides. Now I know there’s boats everywhere and not all of them are carrying pots of light, so I jus assume they are for transportation since the people on the ground can’t fly naturally

It’s about “power diamonds” something that is used for industry and technology

“Boats are mainly for the use of carrying pots of light. You can see these pots of light being made at daylight prairie and I say pots of light because there are butterflies put inside them. In the wave emote cutscene u can actually see a flying boat that’s carrying a bunch of pots.
These pots are being shipped to forest to make power diamonds, they combine the light with organic material at forest and use a diamond press to combine them into an artificial Star, or what we call “power diamond”. You can actually see the concept of this by looking at the forest temple door mural. And I know I’ve been explaining this theory over and over and over again but I’m in quarantine and I got nothing else to do but heres another way of looking how power diamonds are made. This diamond press in the picture is also seen at the golden wasteland, and there’s a krill flying around it. It may be broken down but it is noticeable that it is the same factory. Also the shipwreck at wasteland is seen to be carrying certain pieces of this diamond press, it goes to the top and sides. Now I know there’s boats everywhere and not all of them are carrying pots of light, so I jus assume they are for transportation since the people on the ground can’t fly naturally”

He’s defending the gate. Why? And for how long? And from what? And with what power? It’s looks routine, tiring, and it doesn’t look like any of them could get out of the day to day cycle

the wasteland elder cutscene is like a short little clip, i think hes just depicting his prowess in war (waving spear) and then him falling symbolizes the war or whatever (im not that into lore lol) and then our light helping him is the sky kingdom/elders realizing that natural light and fire is the true thing that kept them alive and energized, but they realized this too late.
its just a short symbolic cutscene

Forest to valley flows nicely if you play straight through though, you have that bright sun in the final area, which leads to the tan clouds that are so prominent in valley, and you fly up those to find even more, and that leads to valley
