That exact concept of darkstone in the timeline is completely removed from the game, the old beta used to have it but now it’s a scrapped concept, but there’s also a lot of other inconsistencies of the timeline, trust me tgc won’t give us an easy timeline like that

The temples aren’t rlly places of worship for the elders and they didn’t have shrines back then, the location of the elder shrine is more like a certain place that had importance to that certain elder. For example, the forest elder is in her diamond factory, and it makes sense why it’s important to her because she made the artificial stars and produced them in her factory

There’s also a translation of a Japanese livestream that sorta proves what I’m saying
“What were call the temples were not places where the elders lived, but a place of importance to that elder”

It makes sense. If you take a look at each stone slab depicting its respective elder, you’ll notice they resemble a gravestone of sorts. I’m sure someone’s already described this, but my take on the overarching story of Sky is that the Skykids are fighting a losing battle protecting the world from evil. The dark plants which replaced so called ”corruption” in newer updates are signs even Prairie is affected. The Wasteland shields the borders of the other realms, as darkness gradually seeps into both Valley, Forest and Prairie. || The children in Eden are Skykids which came before, their souls lost throughout the realms. As you free them, they will be reborn again to continue their eternal mission. The vault elder, which I usually call the mother, knows just how hopeless this mission is. Thus, she cries as she sends thousands into certain death. ||

as you enter, you hear crackles of lightning and the strong whoosh of the wind. you tremble, possible from the cold, but possibly from fear, but gather the courage and walk through, lighting the stones and opening the door. you are greeted by a dastard sight. a sad, windy ruin. the wind grows stronger and throws rocks around, but you push through. as you get closer and closer to the mysterious eye of eden, the cause of the storm, you see something frightening. four giant beasts, hungry for light circling a pipe like building. you know you have to get throigh without being seen by the krill, and you manage to. the rocks keep hurdling towards you, but you manage to avoid them, until, you reach the temple, or the entrance to the eye of eden...

part two!

the wind is unbearably strong, and the place is in total ruins. scattered everywhere, are the petrified bodies of fellowskykids, some old, some new. the wind is harsh, throwing rocks at you, that your try to avoid, but fail. you come closer to a skykid petrified corpse, and you see a frozen teardrop. you give a piece of your wings to the corpse, as a death gift. you know youll end up like them too, if you fail.

the wind is unbearable, and the plummet of rocks doesnt stop. there is nowhere to hide. you are almost out of your cape light, and you realise. you’re doomed.

giving up, you collapse to the floor, exhausted, but quickly and swiftly get back up. i have to stop this, I have to get to the eye. the elders are watching over me, i can’t fail them now, since all of my land is in my hands you walk, and creep slowly towards the eye, but it is no use. with the last ounce of your strength, you manage to reach arms length of the eye, but then

a pummel of rocks hit you, and you collapse to the floor

you close your eyes, only to open them again. is this a dream? you say to yourself. you feel a falling sensation, as if falling through clouds. your cape, its gone. a soft thud, and you hit a floor. you lay there for a moment, looking up at the blackness around you. out of the corner of your eye, you see a soft luster, and turn your head in its direction. sitting there, huddled up, is a another skykid, althoigh this one looks more like a star. it sounds like its crying, and your start to feel sympathetic. you use your very little strength to stand up, and start slowly walking towards the star. it glows brighter and brighter, and its sobs get louder and louder. all of a sudden, the star looks up, face drenched in tears. you hold out a hand to help it up, and the star grabs on. it doesnt need to explain, you already know why its here: the same reason as you.

as an empathetic gesture, your offer it a hug. as soon as you and the star touch, you feel the sensation of energy flowing through your body again. your cape is back, and you are glowing with radiant energy. you see a beam of light shooting from below, and you know where its coming from: the eye. the eye you failed to stop. the eye that is continuing to destroy all of the land. as you draw closer to the beam, an energy starts lifting you up, and up. you dont know where you’re going, but you dont choose to struggle

you let it take you.

part four!

before your eyes, you see a scene upon where you are flying. you look sround and see familiar buildings. you go on and see butterfly pots, race down a snow slide, and onto king jellyfish. old memories from your journey. you fly, onward, alongside other creatures, manta, birds, and a whale. then you see the ruins of eden, rocks swirling in a hurricane. you embrace for impact when a rock you see was about to hit you. nothing. the rock shattered upon coming in contact with you. its all just my memories you realise. and up you go. up. up. up. past the lost castle of eden, home and tomb of the eden elder, long gone, and in ruins. you’ve heard stories of the great father, how he was destroyed, and created everything. but up you go. into the light.

part five!

up and up, you’re in a strange place. you see, other bodies swimming through the air. the spirits you’ve rescued, the spirits you’ve freed. you try to fly closer to one, but it turns away. you try to fly near another one, but it turns away too. you manage to fly near a spirit, and it gives you a smile as it realises you’re here, gifting you light. you fly near the rest, and they smile at you too. suddenly, a whirl of light comes near you. is that... a skykid? you say to yourself

but it wasnt just one, more and more start passing by you

heading in a different direction.

you see where they are all going, and you see just how many creatures of light are heading towards it too. the giant orb of light. it was blindingly beautiful, like all your worries could go away. you were drawn to it, like a moth to a flame, and joined the rest of the creatures. you fly towards it, bumping into other skykids on your way

you’ve drawn so close, you could touch it. you let it envelope you.

The design explanation for that is because the same model of the Eden portal we have now was taken from the aviary. Back then, you awakened in isle and after finishing the level you would go to the aviary and hear the prophecy about getting each elder blessing to face the storm (eden). Each level had a portal for you to visit and after you finished it, their mask would light up on the Eden gate and it would be available once all of them were lit

Isle wasn't really one of them, more like a prologue you would come back to after being reborn (you could still revisit isle, but it didn't have a portal like other levels)

Some people have the theory that isle and eden are related on the process of rebirth, and that's why it wasn't included before and now!

It’s hard to tell what the spirit story is, he was walking and then he found a ball, then he picked up the ball and that’s it. He got mad all of a sudden and boom, end of story

But too keep it as short as possible, praire made pots of light and they held butterflies, those butterfly pots were put in boats and sent to the hidden forest, the hidden forest grabbed these pots and combined the light inside them with organic material to make a power diamond. This process was done using a diamond press and the diamond press it at the forest temple
