It appears from the notes (while I note that these aren't definitive) I've felt a while like the elders have been focused on technology, and harnessing the power of the young butterflies (which from some sketches may actually be young manta) in pots with flaming staves (like in some of the prairie spirit memories, and Isle elder), so rather than taming, it seems they harness them at a young stage and utilise their energy.

@sly kestrel one thing we can try and do is fit the architecture we see into those 3 eras, fire era (probably the prairie shrines) , dark stone era (probably forest and wasteland temples), and if we can see anything post storm era

random & not very lore related, but dunno where to put it tbh sjsj, but i had this thought in my head about where the spirits came from and how sky kids could maybe “evolve”?? it may be weird but bear with me

so i was thinking about the possibility of sky kids being able to grow, reach adulthood and stuff. And that got me thinking about the spirits as well. Both kids and spirits looks very similar, mostly both use masks, anatomy is the same & stuff, the only difference is in size. And then i remembered the words from the opening of the game, “(...) if only they had listened.”

sO i have this “theory” (more of an idea really) that the all events in the game are a one big loop, “history likes to repeat itself” stuff. The motive of the loop is even right there when it comes to eden. What if it isn’t a first time a civilization of stars has fallen?? what if it isn’t the first time sky kids were created, what if the previous kids , “grew up”, created a society and stuff. What if it wasnt the first time the voice tried to reason with the stars, but they just fail again and again.

If u look at the first forest area when it stars raining u can see 2 sets of murals showing that prairie sent boats with the pots and the dock actually has.....boats with pots with them, but anyways those pots were used for energy to be mixed in with the raw material in the forest. Then they used a diamond press to compress the 2 materials to make artificial stars, a new form of technology that made valley flourish. So basically, prairie pots + raw material in forest= artificial star
And they didn’t really “tame” the creatures, they were friendly to begin with and prairie actually supported creature life

At first, the intro would represent a star exploding make the 6 stars which were the elders. On the intro we see that there is a more greater entity in sky but separated them into Eden which is similar to the stars being pushed away by some sort of collision. Eden would represent their main sector which probably was their main home that they orbited and ruled as the giants but ended up being destroyed possibly by a star which cast them out.

Isle represented the birth of the sky children since I think we were a small star once in space, then in daylight we began growing and becoming a bit more mature which resulted the daylight prairie being bright and forest would be the cooling down of stars...

Krills are basically stars that charge right at us, Vault would be us fully cooled down as a neutron star?..
